Have my family good poisoning and was served a mouldy salad with a slug in it. I would not recommend going.

Myself, my husband, my son and his girlfriend all visited the restaurant on 8th August. We had a lovely Vegan waitress (sorry we can't remember her name) who was friendly and went above and beyond. We have some vegan options and we were very happy with our meal. We will definitely return. Thank you

This is a terrible restaurant! I used to love coming but the service became terrible! They made the lasagne so cheesy I was nearly sick! We waited an our for our starter. An hour for our main. And and hour for desserts. WE WERE THERE FOR 3 HOURS! IT WASN'T ENJOYABLE! I'm sorry to say this but we waited so long they took some money off. ONLY A FEW POUNDS! FOR A EXTEREMELY LONG WAIT FOR FOOD! This has really gone down. ONLY the one in BILLERICAY HIGH STREET is terrible I don't know about the others. THIS IS BAD DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT 3 HOURS! if you do then by l means go. Sorry to give this such a bad review but I'm just very upset because it used to be my favourite restaurant.

We had very poor service, three hours we were in there, very slow and food wasn’t cooked to standard. Food took at least 1 hour to arrive.

You have to go for lunch and try to drink cocktails. Especially such weather. The atmosphere inside was really relaxed and little things like the waiter getting the door for everyone left a really good impression.

We did a 'Ladies that Lunch' for our friends birthday last month and had a very enjoyable afternoon in the garden of ASK Italian in Billericay Essex. It was so clam in the garden we forgot we were in the middle of a busy high street. The service was good as was the food and the company even better. It was the first time I had been to this restaurant and it won't be the last.

I don't know Billericay very well as I was visiting a friend of mine. We decided to have a lunch date and she recommended here. I haven't had the most positive experiences in other ask Italians so I was doubtful. However, from the moment I sat down I had a lovely time. The outside area was open so we decided to sit out there- it was a lovely intimate space that helped liven the atmosphere! We both ordered drinks and the waitress was very patient as we were taking a while with deciding. When the food came it was delicious. My only quibble for me would be that it was a smaller portion of pasta then I would like but for a bit of lunch it does the trick. Throughout the meal we were getting progressively hotter and the waitress kindly suggested we could move to the tables opposite in the shade, from start to finish she was friendly, accomodating and even tried to get to know us and engage in a friendly conversation. It's the small things that count when it comes to a chain restaurant and this lady really represented the brand wonderfully. I didn't catch her name but she said her boyfriend's parents went to Bath recently.

Firstly the food here is nothing special but it is good Italian food, you're assured of a good meal in my opinion. The lasagne was particularly a favourite of my brothers. My pizza was fine. It's good standard food. What sets this restaurant apart particularly from it's Southend counterpart, is the service!

We went there early evening on a Sunday and it wasn’t very busy.

A table was booked for three people on a saturday for lunch. We were a little early but the table was ready, waiting and prepared. A complimentary drink was served that was - as I was told - Limoncello but it was nothing like the after-dinner liqueur I am more familiar with being quite sharp and bitter. Despite that the staff performed their tasks quietly and efficiently and the food arrived without delay, well cooked and tasty. I would have liked a greater choice of wines but the Sicilian Nero D'Avola served as a satisfactory complement to the food.

Popped in for lunch during the Billericay Xmas Market. Half an houi after eating here I started being violently sick. I was sick for four days - I have never been so ill. My son who's 14 also started being sick and my husband was also ill. I contacted basildon council and they are going to look into this.

We made a very last minute decision to take our granddaughters out to dinner. Very pleasant experience. The staff we very helpful and cheerful. Orders we quickly taken. Food arrived very speedily. We shared 2 starters between the four of us. Bruschetta and calamari very good. Two of us had pasta - both very good. The others has sea bass and a pizza. Both much appreciated. The desserts and coffee were all very acceptable. All in all a rating of Very Good entirely justified

Visited for lunch on Sunday. There was two set Christmas menus or the main menu available. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very efficient and service was speedy. Food was very good, we had the spicy Tuscan bean soup and bruschetta followed by the penne chicken arrabirta. Would return.

Very good meal for me and my son with friendly service. We had a starter of garlic bread with mozzarella followed by a main of Linguini Carbonara each... recommended.

The food at Ask is great for a local high street Italian restaurant. The food is good and lots of options for vegan diners. Service is always good and with a smile.

I have just left this restaurant having waited for an hour for my starter, I checked that it wasn't being prepared but not a dough ball in sight! The staff have a wonderful way for ignoring you and looking past you. The place was fairly full at 7pm tonight, and we were shown to our table fairly promptly, however took time to take our orders then came the wait! At 8pm just gone we gave up and came home!

The food is great and myself and my mother in law eat here often. Occasionally service can be a little distracted, however this does not distract from the good food.

For circa 20 years I have been a regular visitor to ASK restaurants. including the Billericay restaurant ( I have some personal history with the founders).

First visit to Billericay ASK - we both ordered a variety of dishes, all delicious and nicely cooked. Pleasant decor and very friendly staff - one girl in particular has just become a waitress rather than work in the kitchen- very bubbly and chatty, a nice addition to our evening. Looking forward to returning soon.

It is many years since I had been to this restaurant, but have recently been twice (we came again as it was so nice the first time). We had simple salads for a quick lunch with a nice glass of trebbiano, and you really couldn't fault it. The room at the back is again very nice (like a large conservatory, and therefore bright and airy) and the staff are friendly. Ask is one of the many chain Italians (in Billericay alone!) and when you have kids you often end up in one or other of them. Well this one is pretty good.

TL:DR version: they don't listen to dietary or allergen requirements and they make inappropriate assumptions about who orders what.

My partner and I together with my father-in -law have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions. He is a picky eater and likes very strong coffee and will complain if he thinks something is wrong. The food standard is excellent and he always gets extra shots in his coffee. The staff are welcoming and attentive without being overly so. We have to travel about 15 miles to get to this restaurant but we've never been disappointed with the food or the staff. They have a comprehensive gluten free menu and have plenty of dishes other than pizza. Well worth a visit.

Pregunta italiano fue recomendado por la familia tenemos allí para una comida italiana. La comida para ser honesto era bastante agradable, tuvimos un poco de pasta, pizza y todos resultó bien. Lo único que me decepcionó fue el servicio que me pareció bastante lento dado que no estaba demasiado ocupado así en una semana. Teníamos una fuente no vegetales, que tiene bastante para empezar una buena comilona. Podría volver algún día seguro para la comida, pero por si acaso son particulares sobre servicio rápido entonces tienes otras opciones alrededor.

We had a lovely lunch bank holiday Monday lovely open back allowing a nice cool breeze run through the restaurant, Staff great fun and informative, I had prawns on a sauce on toasted cabbatta very nice succulent followed by lovely pasta dish pork and beef mince in a rich tomato sauce really tasty ,the four of us all really enjoyed our meal and the feel of the restaurant already planning next visit.

Este se suponía que iba a ser mi cena de cumpleaños, pero fue un total desastre. La camarera no parecía saber lo que estaba haciendo. Tenía una oferta para pedir vasos de prosecco con cada plato. Ella se negó a tomar el código desde mi teléfono y cuando llegó la factura nos cobraron por dos vasos. El primer plato que pedí no estaba disponible y cuando mi marido pidió profiteroles de postre no estaban disponibles. Que necesitan conseguir su acto juntos.

Pero cuando llegó mi principal piccante (calzone carne) que era frío en el medio y en realidad no tienen ninguna necesidad y cerdo ragu. . No es que yo o podría probar o ver! Le comente a la señorita que fue muy servicial y sacamos la factura y me dieron otra. Por desgracia, tuvimos que sentarnos y comer mientras los otros habían terminado. El personal era muy amable y servicial, pero no me voy a volver y se pegará a donde sé que la próxima vez!

Popped in here for an early tea with my son (around 5pm on a Friday night). The staff (as always when we visit) were sitting behind the counter at the entrance and chatting. Saw us but ignored us, not rudely, just naturally (as if that's what they always do...). So I asked if they were actually open....

The food was very nice service was really good, the waiters were patient with the children, a lovely atmosphere. I will visit again.

This is a very busy restaurant. Foods great lots of choice. Can be very loud. If you prefer to be able to hear each other talk easily book a table and ask to be seated in the quiet area on the left.

Great pasta dishes together with pizzas and a few specialities. Service is efficient and friendly does get busy.

Friendly service here. A good menu that's friendly for gluten allergy sufferers. Decent prices and nice food. Can't complain. Might go somewhere else for a really special occasion but this is great for nights out with friends and family.

Pensamos que si nos trasladamos a una parte más concurrida de restaurante puede obtener servicio. Les gustaría. Todos nosotros disfrutamos de nuestras comidas , minas en particular era preciosa, pedí el vientre de cerdo (que es la primera vez que) y estaba delicioso. Los postres también eran buenas. 2015 Diciembre - un tiempo muy ocupado para la mayoría, pero esto fue después de la Navidad cuando las cosas son más o menos volver a la normalidad. Todos pasamos una noche maravillosa en Preguntar en Billericay. Justine amablemente organizó una habitación arriba de funciones para una cena especial de Navidad. Todos disfrutamos de la comida, que era precioso. El servicio que nos dieron por Justine y Melanie era excelente, fueron muy atentos y nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Todos nos llegó y que no había puesto en la reserva, así que tuvimos que buscar otro sitio. PREGUNTA era genial, nos dio una arriba privado de habitación sin cargo. Nuestros servidores era muy amable y eficiente, especialmente Melanie, que era muy concentrados. A pesar de tener que llevar nuestras bebidas y comida subiendo y bajando las escaleras, que no me puedo quejar y fue un gran servicio con una sonrisa. Todos disfrutamos de nuestra comida y como había 10 fue tan bien que nos por nuestra cuenta, porque había mucha risas y diversión. Gracias pedir rescate nuestra reunión con viejos amigos, dos de las cuales tenían venir especialmente desde Escocia a vernos y su familia.

Buena relación calidad-precio al otro lado de un menú variado, un cómodo restaurante con un personal muy amable. Máquina de café no estaba trabajando en dos visitas en últimos diez días, no estropeó la comida pero era una molestia y debería haber sido resueltos rápidamente. Sin preguntar primero si la máquina de café trabajando antes de comer allí de nuevo!

We visited ASK again and enjoyed a very tasty dinner. Pasta dishes are particularly good and the dipping breads. Thoroughly recommended.
