Won’t be ordering from here again . Will be using other pizza 🍕 companies instead . I had a query with an online delivery order. Straight after I placed the order , I called the branch up - but no one answered. It was a while and after several attempts when someone finally answered. But by that time it was too late I was told . I did contact papa johns customer care just to raise my points to them - but did not get much response from them . Been ordering papa johns for a while - but no more now .

Romford Papa John's quality is shocking compared to the surrounding area branches Unfortunately, this Papa Johns has been on a slow and steady decline in quality. We have been ordering delivery from this Papa Johns for a couple of years now and again. Originally the food was great. However, over the past year, the quality of the food has turned woefully dreadful and my most recent order was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Recent orders, pizzas have arrived cold and very dry, there is very little sauce and toppings, this makes the pizza overall very dry and tasteless most of the time. Items have also been missing such as additional paid dips which I've had to contact head office to get refunded. As the best the store would offer is an IOU and no guarantee that it would actually be honoured come the next order. The only reason we kept ordering was the sides were actually decent. I have noticed also that ever since Uber eats took over delivering the orders, delivery times are much longer! However, back to today's order, we got the Big Match bundle, which is two pizzas and two classic sides and a drink. As what seems the norm, the order seems to be cutting and checking for over 10 minutes on the tracking portal before it's picked up by UberEATS. On delivery the Pizzas were lukewarm and tasteless, however the real shock is when we opened the Garlic Pizza Sticks and saw how burnt and dry it was. See the attached Picture. It looks nothing like what it should do as advertised on the website. (Second attached picture) Paraphrasing Gordon Ramsay "Overcooked on the bottom/top, crispy as ****, and it looks like Gandhi’s flip flop" I cannot believe that the person "cutting & checking" the order thought this is acceptable to send out to a customer. As such I have sent a complaint to Papa John Customer service on this order and have advised for a review into this branch given drastic decline in quality. I think these issues are purely down to how this branch is run and its management. I've had Papa Johns delivered from different branches in surrounding areas and they have been much better quality then the Romford one. As an example, we ordered 10 pizzas from the Barkingside branch, and they came with 45 mins and all still hot and tasted great. A night & day difference between the Barkingside and Romford Branches. It's actually shocking how bad the Romford branch has become and it is an embarrassment to the Papa John's Franchise.

TLDR: This place is consistently good, seems to be slandered by people who had one bad experience out of 100 leading to a negative review. Unsure of the large amount of negative reviews. I regularly order from here and while the quality of the products and service has some variance as is the case with every business, I have had minimal issues with delivery times and forgotten items. The quality of the pizza has always been far above other competitors, and delivery times are much more consistent as compared to a few years ago. Price is perfectly reasonable as well, with Papa rewards giving you points that can lead up to a free large pizza.

Ordered through UberEats and food did not arrive. Rang Papa John’s and said “it’s not my responsibility since you ordered on a 3rd party app”. Very disappointed. Our dinner missing…

I used to be a huge fan of this pizza place;However, I’ve noticed a significant drop in quality lately that has left me quite disappointed. The last few times I ordered the toppings seemed less generous and not as fresh, which really affected the overall taste. Even the sauce not good enough

I am an Uber driver. When I go in the restaurant to pick my order manager behave rudely. He is unprofessional and making fun of me and force me to cancel my order and misbehave with me.

Ordered pizza for collection. Customer service was great, but the pizza was nothing like I've known from there! Got "All the Meats", but there was hardly any meats or cheese on there. The pizza looked too dry and unappetising!! Will honestly NOT be in a hurry to order from here next time. Papa Johns used to be one of my favorites. What on earth happened???

Well after paying nearly £50 for 2 pizzas I would just like to say how I felt the toppings were totally lacking!! I’ve had this deal before with no complaints but this time. What a joke. I’ll include a photo. I only asked for the black olives to be removed not all of the toppings!😂😂

The driver went to 3 different places just to deliver my order. The food was a bit cold. I was expecting a call so I can instruct the driver where to deliver but he never called. He did not bother explaining the delay when asked

Forgot stuff on my order, 23 mins late to the time I selected to have the delivery, and refused to refund me as it was too late when I returned the call. I ordered it for 7pm as I had to go out at 7:30, my order turned up at 7:23 and I had to eat it as quick as possible and then completed a 1.5HR drive. Really disappointed with this as this was my go to place to go for food. To top this all off, the garlic bread was dry and the pizza toppings were hard.

Real shame to be honest. Pizzas came and were cold aswell as the sides. Opened pizzas and was shocked at how little toppings there was, both pizzas had minimal cheese and about 1% sauce. Gave me upset stomach, would avoid! Plus very very VERY expesive for what you get.

The worst experience I have ever had !!! Stay clear of this place , they lied about home delivery when they delivered my food an hour ago, the worst burnt looking pizza I have ever seen, and honestly they felt like “what’s the problem “ in other words take or live it!!! We ordered 4 pizzas on deal £10 each , dough was so undercooked , soft and oily but i guess we got what we paid for ? I dont think i will be ordering again , i would understand if it was an unknown place but it is not good from this company

Food arrived on time and was hot but the pizza was extremely oily as you can see by the photo I have taken of the box from said pizza. I have had papa John's many times but never from this branch, I will not be returning again, pizza should never be that greasy. Highly disappointed.

Really disappointed. Papa johns has always been my favourite pizza and never used to have any issues. They managed to forget the bbq part on my bbq chicken pizza (second time now) Pizza was tasteless and tasted like an Aldi pizza

Terrible customer service. Ordered 3 pizzas for 3 people, one with a gluten free base. They put the wrong labels on the boxes so the gluten free base was eaten not by the person it was intended for and the person who couldn't eat gluten would have eaten a non gluten free pizza had they not noticed that their pizza had toppings on it that they didn't order. When we called, they made putting the wrong labels on the pizza seem like it was no big deal, they were no help and I basically wasted my money on that pizza as there was now no gluten free pizza they could eat. This is potentially dangerous (for people with wheat/gluten allergies), disrespectful to different diet types and below the standard you would expect of a Papa Johns.

Never order from them Very poor service, first time ordered waited for more than 2hours. When I was calling to chase up they don't answer the phone but as soon as I called from different number they answered 😡. And they lied pizza is just ready now and coming in another 15min. It came in 5min but it was cold tastless pizza.i complained and they apologised and offered complimentary pizza whenever I want to order next time. But refused to provide free of charge later. Never ever waste ur money on them.

Pizza are good but avoid delivery also they have issues paying with PayPal when called PayPal why payment wasn't accepted the confirmed no issues from my end but actually papa John's. Best to go over there and do collection

Ordered this food at 8:30pm on a Sunday, an hour went by and the tracking was still on the first step. Tried calling multiple times, no answer, after 8 calls and an hour and 20 mins had gone by. I was answered, told sorry and the food would be here in 10 mins as it was just out of the oven and left the store 5 mins ago, obviously lies as the food turned up 35 mins later! That's pretty much 2 hours to deliver a pizza! And to top the whole terrible experience off, the pizza was burnt around the crust yet cold and the extra sauce I ordered was the wrong type... This store is usually taking at least 45 mins to an hour to deliver food so is slow at the best of times, but this is the worst experience I've ever had ordering a pizza... Do not get papa johns here, order it from somewhere else or just choose another pizza place because this one is bad from start to finish.

Do not order from this restaurant. I had to wait 2 hrs for 2 pizzas. Called the restaurant after an hour since I’ve placed the order just to find out that the pizzas are just being made and they’ll be ready in 20 mins. After a further 40 mins called back and no one answered. Very bad delivery service.

My husband and I ordered from this place and we were disgusted! If we could give no stars we would. This is not the first time their service was appalling. We gave them the benefit of the doubt last time when they took 2 hours to deliver our food, yesterday was the same situation. They would not answer their phone and the food was taking so long to arrive we decided to drive up there and collected it ourselves after waiting 2 hours. Even then the food was so dry and tastes like cardboard ! We will NEVER be going here again and we advise the same to anyone else ordering from here unless you want to chuck money in the bin !!

So bad, had to wait over 1.5 hours for 2 pizzas on a Wednesday. I called the shop and they didn't really care. Said they were unexpectedly busy, when I complained a little more they then also mentioned problems with the delivery. Delivery driver couldn't care less, some of the order was missing, very dismissive and told me to ring the shop. I couldn't wait another hour and half for the rest of my order so didn't have it. Avoid at all costs and take on board the other reviews as well.

takes an hour and a half for pizza. this store in particular is the only one who are consistently absolutely terrible. they update the tracker with 'delivered' so as to avoid upper management not being aware of their shockingly poor service. cold and bad tasting pizza and unapologetic staff. go to another papa John's. avoid this one!

Not happy with delivery service at all . I’ve been waited an hour for a pizza which I ordered from the nearest restaurant. I would recommend if you want papa johns you rather go out and collect it because otherwise you will wait ages and your food will arrive cold after an hour from ordering it . Also doesn’t taste as good as before . Last time when I ordered here I found hair in pizza .I’m very unlikely to order from here again . This place definitely need a better organisation about timing and pay more attention for their quality of food .

Last week we ordered Pizzas and baffelo wings from them they send wrong order and these is not first time it happend it's 3rd time... so we disappointed and complained...when we complained about that they said because we ordered online we need to claim online but no body knows how to do it properly... when I asked what is the right way or website to do it ? they even didn't know properly and after some try they asked me to call back ...and I never got call back also ... one's you pay they don't bother much after that... not happy with service....

I cancelled the order but won’t get my money back until 2-3 days later!! Papa Johns is usually very consistent. That's the point of a chain right? You know what you're getting. Well, not this franchise. They're stingy with toppings and our pizzas arrived burned and cold. So bad.

If you want a driver to deliver 7 pizzas before you, then this is the place. On a normal day, it will take over an hour to get a pizza. Go to Pizza Hut or Domino's instead. They put delivered on the tracker 25 mins prior to delivering, obviously to avoid complaints going ahead and meeting delivery times. Customer service is poor and staff here are not apologetic, seems like this is normal.

I asked for a half cheese and tomato, half bbq sauce with pork sausage and spicy beef. They sent a lukewarm pork sausage and spicy beef, no bbq sauce, now half cheese. I also said specifically, do not ring the bell as the baby is asleep so call when here yet the driver rang the bell! Won't be ordering again in a hurry!

Ordered via just eat, we called the store half an hour after it was due to be delivered to be told a web of lies. At first we were told there wasn't an order, then once explained it was via JustEat they said the order was cancelled as it didn't contain a pizza, which it did. We were then told it had been delivered, clearly it hadn't as we were still foodless and being a hot day we were sat in the lounge with all windows open. He then carried on to tell us how wonderful his delivery driver was and how it must have been delivered. When asked if they would provide us with replacement food we were told we had to contact JustEat as we booked through them and there was nothing they could do. Annoyed we hung up. My other half then contacted just JustEat and they said they would investigate. Minutes after he had hung up the driver arrived with the food, he then proceed to loiter at the door for a tip. Less than impressed with this service.

Worst papa John ever every week I order over 60 pound and today I order and they got new policy you have to pay first then only they can start making pizza. So I cancelled it not gonna order again.

Ordered pizza from this shop today and now have severe tummy pain, vomiting and diarrhea! Looks like the food was not clean. Im in so much pain i will go to hospital and, if proven i had food poisoning from their pizza, then i will inform the council and possibly a court. Never felt sick like this im my life! I would have thought that all outlets would have the same deals and offers. Having had a good lunchtime deal at another Papa John's, I expected to be able to get the same deal at this store, only to be dissapointed.

Been using these guys for years but they’ve been getting worse and worse. Ordered a bbq chicken pizza....arrives but missing the bbq portion. Asked them how they are going to rectify it....why don’t you wait another 30mins and we’ll give you another one...waste of my time... Ordered on another quiet day for lunch. Takes them over 1 hour 15mins to deliver. May have to look elsewhere for my pizza fix

We order two large pizza last night. Basically the base was under cooked. Pizzas was to oily. My stomach doesn’t like it at all. One pizza was delivered without source. We paid 24£ for this money I was expecting more. I am not recommending to anybody.

I love Papa Johns Pizza, its nice for chill out days where you just stay inside your house all day and relax after a long week, Marie plush approves.

Used to be good and deliver roughly on time - had to stop ordering a few months ago because food kept arriving cold and the papa guarantee does not cover cold food / late delivery (even though I don’t like the ‘taste’ of cold pizza) Have them another chance - pizza did not turn up 40 minutes after app said ‘on the road’ - and 10 minutes after app said ‘delivered - tuck in’ phoned the shop and they said the guy had set off 20 minutes ago - I told them I am just 4 minutes drive away - she said maybe he just collected the sauces 20 minutes ago Driver called me a few minutes later - he couldn’t find us - kept talking over me when I was trying to give him simple directions- just babbled on about the postcode and satnav - I had to should over him to give him simple directions - he came from the direction as though he had perhaps driven past us 15 times!!!! Anyway - food was ‘warm’ but not as cold as previously delivered - maybe they should not be in the job of pizza delivery but maybe just promote their pizza collection where you can get half price pizzas and get them home hot without a heated pizza delivery box unlike their own delivery guys Seeing as they will know who I am because of my online and telephone signature I won’t be able to order pizza there again The boss / owner has to go for stress massage - maybe he wouldn’t be so stressed if he didn’t keep letting down his customers

Papa John's franchise model is like a star footballer plagued with injury problems. There is a serious lack any quality control or consistency. One week you might get a good pizza and other times it is really bad. I recently waited 90 minutes for a pizza and after calling 16 times with nobody answering. When the pizza finally arrived it was dry and the crust had gone super hard and had to give the deliver driver my number to ask the manager to call me as I couldn't reach the store. The manager explained they are short staffed on Valentine's day and was very apologetic. Which went some way to making good the fact I am now having to go out at 9pm to collect food from a restaurant that will be edible and enjoyable. Like the footballer. Papa John's shows all the promise of a good pizza but the finishing let's them down!
