Papa Johns in Newcastle upon Tyne

Ordered 2 pizzas, I had the works. It was tasty but disappointingly soggy and floppy as you can see in the photo. No greaseproof paper under the pizza so grease got everywhere. I think I'll shop elsewhere before I reorder from here. I know there's better quality elsewhere in the area.

Ordered 2 pizzas for delivery, love the tracking option which shows you the step by step process, our pizza were out for delivery 45mins later they were delivered..Luke warm I phoned the Gosforth store explained that we'd eaten a couple of slices of the pizza and it was cold by the time we ate it. The person who answered the phone...no name given.... said he highly doubted that was the case and went to ask what we wanted... I replied a hot pizza.. he said under their terms and conditions the pizzas temperature was not guaranteed so no replacement or refund. He did say he would give us a small credit against a future order, I found him to be abrupt .. I told him not to bother as we won't be using papa John's he said no problem and hung up

Nowt wrong with Pronta Pizza. Seriously, never had a bad pizza from here. 👍

the garlic bread was so greasy it seeped through the box. got all different dips from what was requested and the jalapenos were missing from pizza. really not worth the price

Delivered wrong size pizza with the wrong toppings, it’s pretty expensive for what it is, took over an hour to arrive (it was at a busy time in all fairness) and only tastes okay

Absolutely vile! We ordered two pizzas, two sides and a drink. In one pizza, there was long black hair cooked into the pizza base. I have never experienced anything quite as disgusting when ordering pizza. Despite trying to contact this store THREE TIMES to fix this, no one answered. I’m never ordering from here again.

My food didn’t arrive and when I tried to call the restaurant it was continuously engaged, the delivery driver rang numerous times saying he couldn’t find my address and I tried to direct him and tell him to put my post code into his sat nav and still no order arrived

OMG the manager hang the phone on me three times!!! this is so 90s service, where is training and customer care? After 58min my order arrived and I don't even want it. the attitude that who clame to be the manager made me doubtful of quality and standards. I WILL NEVER NEVER ORDER FROM THIS WASHED UP OLD FASHIONED BUSINESS!! thanks to your manager and his rood condescending attitude Domino's HO HO all the way !!!

Ordered 2 pizzas this sunday morning and they were lovely. Spoke to a man on the phone with regards to my order and he was very helpful and clear. Thank you.

Took an hour and a half for food to arrive. food very avarege all the pizza topping was in the middle non round the outer edge , chicken goujons were stodgy .

Pizza was ok, on the pricy side. Kids liked it but adults thought it a bit bland. Was nice enough and everything was eaten.

The food from here is always amazing and delivered quickly. But recently the last 2 times the delivery driver won’t bring the food to my door as I live in an upstairs flat and says “we’re not supposed to come inside” when he rings for me to come down and get it which is an inconvenience as I’m usually in my pyjamas, late at night and have to get changed to go down. I’m assuming he only does this as the man himself is large and doesn’t want to walk upstairs! I’ve never had a problem with any other take out and papa johns previous driver’s coming upstairs.

It should have been for delivery. When I realised it was for collection I cxd it. The takeaway shop said yes they would cx it. Just eat would not give me a refund. I spoke to the restaurant and just eat twice. Both said the other was at fault. I wouldn't use either service again.

I really hate ordering from this takeaway because they NEVER put the sauces in that you pay for. I don’t know how many reviews I’ve left on this restaurant alone, but they never put the right dips in. Delivery driver is always really nice and pleasant. Food is good too.

Terrible service pizza arrived 3 hours later and cold

We had to wait two hours for our pizzas and they were so average! It’s very expensive for how terrible the service and quality is.

Kids Crying. Booked online, waited one hour and couldn’t track online. Spoke to a member of staff on phone who was polite but accepted that the web site was a crock of sh**t and that they had no idea when our order would come through to them or come to us. Had used them before but slipped massively - avoid

I have ordered xxl pizza with ranch sauce but the sauce was not spread properly and the base was not cooked properly worst pizza I have ever tried and more over in online it is showing we can choose 7 toppings and the in store they told me that only 4 toppings we can add but the cost was same for the both in online and In store I have spend more then £20

we rang them after the tracker confirmed “enjoy” and they said the driver will be 4minutes. we waited 50 minutes since and rang them before the store rang and refused to answer the phone. food was never delivered and money is gone. don’t order from here, such a waste of money.

Papa John's sells the best pizzas. I wonder where the poor reviews are coming from. I have asked many different friends. Which pizzas do they prefer? And it's always Papa Johns.

Very rude person on the phone. I can see from the other reviews that this is an ongoing issue with this branch (Gosforth, Newcastle). This man needs extra customer service skills training. I will never order again.

The food didn’t looked exactly as the pic, the hot piri piri chicken poppers looked like normal chicken poppers.

Customer service here is horrible. I’ve had problems multiple times with the service here. Today we ordered a pizza - pizza tracker for this place doesn’t work so can’t use that to estimate order delivery time, and orders always come late from here so even though it said it had been delivered after an hour we waited an extra 30 minutes before calling the shop. My bf called them and politely asked if he could have an order update. Immediately the man on the phone took up a tone with my bf about how the driver called us but it didn’t connect, it’s been sent back to the shop etc. So my bf again politely explains he’s not sure why what’s happened, we’re calling him on the number we left the driver. The man on the phone repeats the phone number and reads out my bfs old number, which we updated on the website before placing the order and it says in our order confirmation that the number to call is my bf’s new number, so it was Papa Johns mistake, not ours. The man on the phone was so rude my bf couldn’t even be bothered to point this out as it wasn’t worth the attitude we were clearly going to get in response. As I say, not the first time we’ve had attitude problems from the staff here for things which are their fault. Big shame because I’ve never had any issues at any other branch of this chain, just this one.

Pizza base was like rubber and very chewing. and there was only pepperoni and spicy beef topping. No bacon or spicy sausage. So it wasn't a meat feast as described. Very poor quality pizza. Will stick with Domino's in future

Awful customer service!!! I used their actual website so I could change my base etc as just eat don’t have the options! We used the online tracker expecting accurate updates from it and as soon as it said delivery out waited outside! No one showed up! I didn’t have signal in the hotel so I went out and called and the guy who I can only assume is “Kevin” judging by all the other appalling reviews this guy has had who was extremely rude and abrupt stating he was trying to call/left voicemails but then states I gave a wrong number which I think is just an excuse! Said the delivery guy was on his way back (half hour before their closing) and was unable to come back! Said I needed to speak directly with customer service for a refund, but doesn’t have this option just to leave feedback! Agree with all the other reviews, the guy is very monotone and belittling on the phone! Papa johns really need to look into this (looks like this will never be the case, most reviews talk about him and he’s still providing appalling customer service) KEVIN get a new job pal, although your attitude shows it’s the only place that’ll have you with that attitude (:

Accidentally ordered a massive order twice and was charged twice, guy from the store phoned me straight away to let me know and started the refund process, got the money back next day Food was great as well

This used to be our no 1 go to pizza place throughout 2022, however, this year we have noticed a huge difference in the pizza. After eating the pizza everyone who had consumed would complain of symptoms of feeling extremely nauseated and unwell. Pizza then started to arrive cold and delivery driver could never seem to find us. We once rang ahead to ask if when our pizza arrives can it not be cold, and the person we spoke to was extremely unhelpful and unkind. However, it is worth mentioning the delivery drivers have always been pleasant and kind on arrival and very apologetic if ever late. All in all, the quality of the pizza has plummeted this year which is an incredible shame as we used to order from this establishment at the very least once a week.

Took around 2 hours to deliver a pizza 3 miles away on a Thursday midday. The manager is extremely rude, said our place isn’t a priority 😀

Honestly there is no point in ordering any dip other than garlic from here. They will never get it right. I’ve ordered from here so many times and the order always gets messed up. Really annoying and a total first world problem. Drivers are always on time and friendly though.

Awful customer service!!!!!!!! Kevin manger, has no respect. Food was cold as it arrived, however was burnt , wrong drink size (which costs double). My dips were also missing from my Order. Kevin , however was extremely rude and refused any sort of apology nothing. My order was £30 and was not worth a single penny. I certainly won’t be going back as of the customer service.

Food delivered well within time advised, and had good deals available. Unfortunately it was not very nice, garlic cheese bread was incredibly sweet and odd tasting. Far too much tomato sauce on pizza which was incredibly salty. Seriously wish I’d read reviews first as I’ve had much nicer from a supermarket which I will stick to from now on.

Food was good but every time I order from here they mess up the sauce. Ticked no special garlic (because it’s awful), ticked wild herb garlic (because it’s good), then paid extra for the hot sauce (also good). Guess what turns up? Special garlic. Pointless even complaining about it because they just say ‘we’ll sort it out on your next order’. Just get it right on first order…

I saw the negative reviews after placing my order but I have to say my experience is positive. On line ordering for delivery worked, delivery was quick & the driver polite & friendly. The food was great. Good base & a good but not excessive topping on both pizzas. I would definitely use Papa John’s (Gosforth) again.

We ordered to collect and after a 10 minute or so drive our order was ready when we arrived. Added bonus, because we collected we realise they sell tango ice blasts too so got a couple of those to go. Food was piping hot when we collected and the perfect temperature to eat by the time we got home.

Every time I order from here they always forget the dips despite me paying for them. There is no option to request the money back for just the dips. I called the restaurant and they said they would give me credit next time. Not sure how that would even work. Food was good though. Driver was also polite when he delivered the food.

The call center was horrible, the attitude the customer service had when i called there was so superficial. His whole attitude was I know better its now our fault its yours. Who says that to a customer?

Services was good, PIzza and Garlic bread truly disgusting, garlic bread smothered in butter, but without garlic, made me almost throw up, can barely tatste the cheese, Garlic bread Pizza, bacon literally raw, nastiest little containers with garlic butter and tomatoe went in the bin, ordered a mexican Pizza, bloody awful, I was starving after a bite I lst my hunger.... horrific experience, Pizza and Garic bread had so much il/ butter it was revolting They need to go back to Pizza School and learn how to make a Pizza I am in disbelief andyone can serve up such rubbish

Ordered a Pizza meal deal, garlic bread smothered in non garlic butter almsot vomited, Bacon Garli bread, bacon practically raw, so much oil/ butteer on the breads truly awful swimming in it Orderd a mexican Pizza.... Horrendous, these people should e closed down aas there Pizzas are truly disgusting, I was starving and after a bite my hunger dissapeared , to say it was that bad, they need to learn how to make a Pizza... I feel like I have been robbed of my money and mugged The ony good point was the bottle or Rasberry Coke and a quick delivery

Only 4 out of the 6 pizzas were delivered - I have spoken to Mark at Pappa Johns in Gosforth who says I have to claim a refund via you. Please advise

Although my order was early for the first time after many orders but once again I’m missing half of what I ordered

My pizza arrived with onion on it which I had not ordered and don’t like. When I rang to explain this, the Paia Johns representative Mark said “we’ll I didn’t see any onions on them”, which makes me wonder why he thinks I would make this up?! He then said a replacement would be sent out but I’d have to return the faulty pizza (which of course I could do as hadn’t eaten it!) At no point was he apologetic for my hassle or even polite! Awful public service from someone who really shouldn’t be working in the hospitality industry. He sounds like a really sad, angry man.

Man on phone very rude, wants sacking! Never experienced such terrible customer service, would leave a 0 star review if I could. The threatening tone of the man is unacceptable and I hope this is looked into and sorted by the company as they should not be condoning this behaviour from staff when speaking with customers in any circumstance. Will not be ordering from this store again!!!! I advise others do the same!
