OMG! 😍 We ordered a tiramisu for our daughter’s 21st birthday, Pantry 61 did not disappoint. Penny was great, she made sure that all our requirements were met and was fantastic to deal with. The actual tiramisu tasted AMAZING and was excellent value for money. Thank you so much Penny and Beverley, you made our daughter’s birthday! 🙏❤️

Pantry 61 is a bakery open over the weekend with a huge range of sweet treats! We’ve visited a handful of times and walked away with something different every time. I’ve also purchased vouchers for friends. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced! I’m aware they also bake larger cakes for birthdays/parties.

We visited Pantry 61 last week to place an order for a family party and Penny, the chef, was very helpful. We ordered the double chocolate brownie and white chocolate rocky road and both went down a treat, with many people commenting how lovely they looked and tasted. I would definitely recommend and use again!

Very friendly and helpful. Cake was twice the size I expected it to be, tasted wonderful, like a beautiful home made cake but professional. Lots of helpful info on box. Cannot recommend highly enough and will absolutely be going back for more. Well done Penny.

Visited for the first time, had cornflake tart, date and apple slice (vegan) biscotti fudge and fresh plums home grown. Date and apple tart was outstanding, best I have ever tasted, cornflake tart was also as good as it gets, fudge was enjoyed by everyone, very sweet and moreish. Home grown Victoria plums are wonderfully tart. Would highly recommend.

Penny is the chef at Pantry 61 - she previously worked at Le Talbooth/Milsoms and luckily for us locals she is now selling her 5* quality desserts from the shop that is attached to the tearoom. I just had a wonderful afternoon tea here - this is not a traditional tea as there are no savoury items - just desserts - we were surprised we didn't miss the savouries. The cakes and pastries with the tea were outstanding - there were 10(!) different types - fruit & plain scone served with clotted cream & tiptree jam, chocolate mousse in a tuile cone, brownie, black forest tart, (large) mango cheesecake, fudge, macaron, triple layer sponge cake and a yoyo type biscuit. Although all in my party (7 of us) had large appetites we ended up taking quite a few goodies home in the boxes provided .For £17.50 per head it was amazing value. They only do these teas on Tuesdays & Saturdays at certain times of the year (they are located on a Christmas tree farm so will apparently be too busy to have any until the New Year). There is a lovely shop that is attached to the tearoom - they sell an incredible selection of baked goods - always different dishes with a very high quality finish - if you follow them on facebook you can see what is freshly baked that morning or get ideas of what desserts you can order. I would highly recommend Pantry 61.

I thought we'd lost him! Imagine my delight when I recently discovered he was still there, every morning from about 8am until 3pm or so, just around the corner from where he used to be, tucked in between Paragon Stainless & Howdens Joinery, itself next to Go Bananas and opposite Jump Street.Order the Girly Stick and get what amounts to a full English - er - Scotish(!) - breakfast in a half baguette, with a cup of tea (free refills!) - all for £2.50! And it's great food! He has a wider choice of sauces than anywhere I know. I always go for mustard and hot chilli.Go as much for the camaraderie and conversation as for the actual food itself. Joe's is a local institution. All the local tradespeople go there. Catch this iconic local venue while you are here - you will be glad you found it!

My daughter and I shared a panini and we had a different filling in each end. Best bacon, Brie and cranberry I have had this year. Extremely friendly team . A great find we will be back. All the best for 2024

We had a lovely time, excellent food. In addition to seven courses there was cocktail with mocktail option, and petits fours. Amazing value at £35 per person without wine; limited choice of god value wine by glass or bottle. Neither wine flight nor pudding wine. Menu in attached photo. Small plates but adequate portions; delicious bread, I believe home made. Parking slightly difficult (it was a busy night at the Institute) and a longish queue for compulsory name badge. The students charmingly trying their best, no offhand service here. Service charge voluntary and I'm happy to pay it.
