I have been thinking of visiting Pant Du café for a while & we were soo glad we did. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent and friendly. The main menu offers a varied choice of food & there is also special board. Two of us had the egg ham & chips (small, which was more than enough!) and one had the bacon & brie cibata served with fresh salad. There plenty of nice home made cakes on offer if you just fancy a coffee/tea. The cafe itself is spacious & set amongst the vines with superb views. All the staff were efficient and very friendly. Diolch Rich & Alaw for a great meal and service, we will certainly be back!

We’ve called in at Pant Du a number of times for a light lunch, nice quiche and that sort of thing plus a nice glass of their wine. Today, Sunday, we were going to be in the area for Sunday Lunch so we booked. A very reasonable, (£14.95) and nice quality beef roast dinner. Surprisingly lamb wasn’t an option and I forgot to ask why. Two nice touches - the veg was served in a separate dish to share and a linen tablecloth. The service is efficient and friendly. Washed down with two glasses ( one each) of the excellent Pant Du red wine. I’d certainly recommend it. 👍

A really lovely restaurant, lovey views, lovely staff. Sunday beef lunch was delicious but unfortunately the gravy was put onto the dinner instead of separate gravy boats, there was not enough gravy and therefore the dinner was too dry. Maybe something to think about.

The cafe is located in a vineyard overlooking the Dyffryn Nantile valley, affording a view of the vineyard and orchard and the Snowdonia Mountains in the distance. We were on a small group tour and our tour guide is friends with the proprietor. He promised us the best Welsh Rarebit in the area, and he delivered. All the dishes were super tasty: soup of the day, sandwiches, and of course the Welsh Rarebit. Adding to the enjoyment was a sampling of the locally made cider. Lunch was so pleasant that we had to make an effort to leave Pant Du and continue our tour. The cafe is popular with local cyclists. The climb up the twisting road certainly builds up an appetite.

My family chose breakfast at Pant Du. We usually have lunch here, and it's always fantastic . Breakfast wasn't too good I'm afraid . Service as always friendly and helpful , surroundings stunning , however the food wasn't well cooked and was rather bland. My step daughter had the vegetarian breakfast, fried egg was solid and sausages not the best, the appearance of the plate not the best. We had scrambled eggs, served in a ramekin , which came out in a clump , one whole serving solid ! Again needed seasoning, and had not had any ! Shame as we always have lovely food here.

Stopped on our route for a snack, being attracted by the 5 star rating. We had a large cappuccino as it was 2 shots of coffee, however it resembled a cup of milk. We also ordered a scone which appeared bought in. It was very mediocre and at £ 3.60 the most we have paid and we eat scones regularly at many different places. We would not recommend and will not return.

An absolutely stunning location. We had a lovely talk by Richard about the orchard and vineyard, followed by a delicious afternoon tea which was really much more than can be described as a snack.

Lovely setting in the vineyard / orchard, took a walk before sitting at an airy outside table. Chose the local paté with toast and salad, glass of house white wine (produced here) followed by home made gateaux - all excellent and served by friendly, efficient staff. I'll be back soon!

We were a party of 20 & they accommodated us brilliantly. The manager couldn't have been more helpful when we made the booking and the staff on the day were brilliant too. We sent through a pre-order the day before which helped us & the kitchen I think. The food was lovely, piping hot and massive portions. We went based on reviews from locals & so glad we did as it was excellent all round. Thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful place for breakfast. I love the savoury options. And to be honest, considering how reasonably priced they are, I can't complain. The bad reviews are from people that expect to be greeted with big smiles etc... but end of the day, none of the owners are rude. They are perfectly polite and to the point. It isn't a restaurant, it is more of a takeaway so I'm unsure of what people expect!

On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth

Found the staff very rude husband was snapped at because he enquired about a flavour he couldn’t see, was quite shocked at the staffs attitude. Don’t think we would bother again.

We popped into The Royal in Barmouth for Sunday lunch and were absolutely delighted with the experience. The roast beef Sunday lunch was fantastic – generous portions, perfectly cooked beef, and all the trimmings done just right. The food was piping hot, full of flavour, and very reasonably priced. What really stood out was the service – the staff were so friendly and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. It’s clear they take pride in what they do. Highly recommended if you’re in Barmouth and fancy a proper Sunday roast in a warm, relaxed setting. We’ll definitely be back!
