Pan Ajia in Oldham

If you suffer with allergies - give this place a miss. I am left extremely disappointed with the service and situation that happened today. I went with a friend to check out the new brunch menu. Upon arrival, I informed the waiter of my severe allergies. He was completely dismissive of them and only went to double check with the kitchen staff about the allergens after my persistent insistence. I ordered my food and it was lovely. However, upon the food arriving, I stated that it looked like sesame seeds were on it and some form of mayonnaise - both of which I have allergies to and I had declared clearly, SEVERAL times. The waiter went back to the kitchen to double check and came out huffing and was very rude to me and stated “we don’t use sesame on anything, it’s tomato seeds. It’s not mayonnaise either”. I said fine and ate my food. I had declared all my allergens and they were dismissed. Halfway through eating, I could feel myself becoming unwell. I took my allergy medication, paid for the meal and left the restaurant. Prior to leaving, I spoke to the manager. I explained all that had happened and that the staff evidently needs better education on the severity of allergies. Had my reaction been more severe, I could’ve ended up in hospital, allergies are life threatening and the fact that this place was so dismissive, upsets me. The manager gave me an apology and a few embarrassing excuses, which frankly, didn’t help me and won’t help anyone else who has allergies. The manager stated the waiter was of foreign background and did not understand the severity of allergies. I stated, that does not help me and is evidently an issue he should deal with. The second excuse was - the brunch menu is new, the allergy menu just hasn’t been printed yet. Again, nowhere near good enough. As per the FSA guidance, if you don’t have allergen menu, then you should have a sign in a clearly visible area to encourage customers with allergies to ask staff. And staff, should clearly be able to help a customer with allergies and be aware of allergens. The manager did nothing other than offer me a half hearted apology and a bundle of excuses, followed with “you have to forgive us and give us another chance. If you were to take this further we could be shut down.” They did nothing to try and make me feel better, nor did they seem to grasp the severity of the situation at hand. I reiterated - if I ended up in hospital, my life could’ve been lost. They are LUCKY that I had a moderate reaction that I could manage myself and didn’t need hospital attention for. They have clearly fallen short of expectation, guidance and the law. I’m left bitterly disappointed and exhausted from my allergic reaction today. I hope that they can take this review and learn something, so that other allergy sufferers, like myself are taken seriously in the future.

Great service and atmosphere. Went for mocktails and starters. Had the Lamb chops and Honey chicken niblets. If you love your spice you will love the taste of these starters.

Exceptional and perfectly executed. The Sirloin steak was cooked and to order - Medium. The Korean Beef Donburi was also very nice and tasty with the right amount of kick. The starters of Lamb Chops and Spicy Mince Nachos were tasty. With drinks ( 2x coke 1 x mojito) total bill was £70. Well worth it. This place is a bit of a hidden gem.

Loud music in a family food place!!!. Didn't like it all. Atmosphere isn't family friendly. Wouldn't advise anyone with kids to go there. Won't be going back there ever again that's for sure.

Went in and it wasn’t that busy so we got seated straight away. Food is fantastic and the staff are really on the ball. Would highly recommend coming here. Food is out of this world

Came here for a graduation celebration, was not impressed to say the least. One of the staff members only knew how to say yes to every request we had as far as his vocabulary went. Food was delayed on several occasions, the mixed shredded steak was very bland, salt and pepper chips were soggy with no actual Peppers like there was a shortage and finally we had to change our order twice as there was no t bone steak left and no sweet chilly wings even though it was only around 8 o clock we had arrived. The king prawns were more like baby prawns but charged for king prawns. Only bought out the first person food before there was a 10 minute delay before the rest was bought out. The decor was nice as the only positive but overall was an average food experience and nothing special. Don't think i would be coming back here again.

Omg the food is amazing!!!! Each dish got its own flavour. This is a hidden gem in Oldham!!! Prices are reasonable too.

Food was lovely, service from Hassan was fab he was smiley and attentive.

Pleasant atmosphere and attentive staff. Couldn't complain. Food was very nice, coffee was very good as well, quick service as well and it was quite busy. Will definitely return. Parking was busy, but it has a car park easily utilised. I think a wedding or an event next made it busier for parking than usual. Pricing was good as well. Cocktail, two coffees and two meals came to £35. Highly recommend.

Way better than Etci Mehmet and Toros in my opinion medium Sirloin stake peppercorn sauce the texture taste on next level unfortunately didn't have any T bones stakes left when we arrived so definitely going back for that next time dont do desserts brought our own along as birthday meal they didn't have problem with that, Pan Ajia is the place if you want good quality stake cooked to perfection 100% recommended 👌

Had breakfast here recently and really enjoyed the menu. They have launched a new menu. V tasty. They've redecorated too since the last time I came and it's lovely.

Just had brunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it, the French toast is to die for. Service was okay and the atmosphere was nice. Will be back!

The food is always a delicious!

Came for brunch, the pesto chicken sandwich was amazing, steak and eggs cooked to perfection. A must is the chocolate french toast, devine. Definitely visit again.

I took my family and hoping that will have good experience. However our food was delayed for well over an hour, and the stakes we ordered were not at good temperature and the chips came late. We did complain and the person who was serving us said we have new grill and short of staff. Very poor service. When I paid they put on my bill service charge. I complained and the manager was supposed to call me regarding this issue. I went on Wednesday and today is Friday and has not called. Today 28/10/24 the manager called me and we had a great conversation and resolved the issues of service charge. However I have been again to the restaurant and credit to staff how listen to me and passed on my message to the manager. The manager has taken in good faith my constructive feedback and I will go again to the Pan Ajia.

Decent service, good menu choices and excellent presentation. The new starter items (chilli fish and chicken tabbouleh) are also quite good, the mains however need improvement. The sirloin steak and sides (including mash) were barely warm, the steak was too chewy and either low quality meat or overcooked and soaked in garlic, which gave me awful heartburn later on, but the chips (which came a couple of mins later) were piping hot and delicious. A mixed experience but YMMV.

We went to try out the new dishes and got to say the flavours were great. They do the best lamb chops so theyre a must. Thank you for looking after us Faz, didnt manage to get the name of another guy who made sure we enjoyed our food. Will be going back to try more dishes.

I had a fantastic dinner at Pan Ajia in Oldham! The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were even better. Order was a Sirloin steak which came with great presentation served warm and not hot. was overcooked and pretty chewy rather cooked to perfection, was accompanied by a creamy sauce and fresh veggies which could be generous. The dessert, served in a skillet with ice cream and mint, was the perfect way to end the meal. The crispy spring rolls were a great starter with a flavorful dipping sauce. Great food, lovely atmosphere, and excellent service—definitely worth a visit!

Food and presentation always comes out 10/10, definitely a must try for the couples and families that love going out to eat

Overall a good experience, like how they have kept the original steak recipes from the Yaya days. Guys the steaks need to come with chips like they used not an extra. Atmosphere was calm, fairly quiet, just a few diners In when we visited.

The staff, ambiance and drinks are amazing. The presentation of food was really good. Lot of parking space as well. But the food is not up to the mark. The steak was so rubbery and was not warm enough - normally its hot everywhere else. Maybe our choice was wrong but it was one of the costly item on the menu and expect them to get it right. Absolutely great food, really really impressed with the standard and taste. Great value as well for what we ordered. The lamb chops I doubled up on and many thanks to Hamza who was very helpful and honest with our selections of dishes and his advice. Great place, we will be coming back there soon. Oh the tempura prawns wow!!!

This is a lovely place to eat, its spacious and lots of great things on their menu, been a few times now and its always been a great meal out, our waitor (didnt get his name) was very patient, friendly and informative, the dood didnt take long (there was 14 of us) and it did not dissapoint 😊

First time here in Oldham ! It’s a must staff 10/10 ! Massive parking at the front set in the heart of Oldham in traditional settings ! The restaurant is modern with amazing seating for family , couples & cozy corners , let’s talk about the food cooked to perfection, amazing spices well seasoned meat ! The chicken just falls of the bone and the steak is amazing ! The chips are fantastic & the rice cooked to perfection! Go & try it !

Food was overall average Lamb chops - 7/10 nice sauce Gnocchi - 5/10 nothing special Sirloin steak - 7.5/10 i am very critical with my steaks, medium cooked fine, quality of the steak is reflected in the price. Please remove all the peppercorn on top of the steak, it is over powering and does not complement the steak Chips were nice 9/10 Service was really poor, one server and one in & out of the restaurantno where to be seen when needed The other server was making drinks for a large table, waited 20 minutes then got up and paid

We went pan ajia for the very 1st time on the recommendation of a friend from oldham. I had the best beat T-bone steak there the best I had so far it was cooked to perfection & the Moroccan chicken with cheese sauce was delicious. Them Togarashi lamb chops were amazing specially the sauce I lover strawberry colada very creamy and fresh all in all it was worth it & I would go there again for sure 😇

Unbelievable attitude from the Manager of this place. We had a problem with our table and the table next to us had an issue, so we were forced to move, the manager did not like this and kept being rude to both of us. Not a professional approach. The rudeness from this manager also took payment upfront from us as there was absoloutely no need to. We were discriminated fully. We will definately not visiting this place. P.s money was never the issue but your attitude was!! As customers WE had to calm him down. As a manager he should be mindful in how he approaches his customers. We got apologies from the Waiter who was good! But not from the manager.

Decent food and wait staff were absolutely lovely. However the food is very expensive, not really worth the price imo especially given location.

Disappointed - I went for iftar with my family and was very disappointed not only did we get served our food very late to the point we were waiting 45 minutes after we went and prayed. The food was also very disappointing and cold we had very high expectations as we have been previously.

I love this place ! I went yesterday, and I walked in to book a table and the guy who worked there helped me out straight away. He was really polite and helpful throughout. And the food was delicious. I found it really tasty and fresh and I would definitely come here again and recommend others to try. I ordered Gyudon Wok Beef, take a look 🥰

This place has lots of parking, it has lovely chilling vibe for family or friends. My friends all enjoyed their food. Some had Lamb shank, chicken steaks but my sirloin steak was tougher than a rubber mat. Also I didn't like that it said your steak will be between 9 -12oz ... I got the 9oz when I asked for the 12oz.... I also asked for the fat to be left on but I didn't get that either. I would go again but maybe not get what I really want to eat. ... p.s I deleted the steak pic from my album and only have this chicken steak picture left

The food was good.Moroccan chicken is a must try! The serving size is good as well. The service is a but slow. They have like 2 servers only and it takes alot of time for them to serve. The atmosphere was good.

My favourite burgers and steak place currently. I’m the biggest foodie ever. My friends are all foodies. We went together. We loved it. Starters and mains spot on. A bit pricey but worth it. Look forward to going back.

Not happy with the prices Charging double through their phone order. Uber eat is way cheaper. I paid like 8 pound over the normal price I would have thought at least it will be the same price asked the staff there he said it’s the way the boss works. I even collected the order 😡 I ordered a nachos there was hardly and nachos unit and the lamb chops was burnt. Proper rip off

My first time at this restaurant yesterday with friends. I was really impressed with the quality of the food. The prices were on the higher end for a restaurant in Oldham but the food was well worth it. The chops were mouth watering and the saucy wings were amazing. The place was clean and atmosphere was relaxed, just as I like it. I took some photos on my iPhone to share with family. The service was also amazing, the way the gentleman serving us described how each food was cooked and his knowledge of the menu was like he was the chef. Will be visiting again on a special occasion as I can’t afford to eat here every time, either way it was worth it.

Not all that. A lot of it tastes similar. They use sweet soy sauce in most of their dishes. They call sweet and sour chips salt and pepper so there was some confusion when ordering.

After reading reviews on this place, I decided to give it a try, Wasn't disappointed at all when we arrived, It was quiet at the time we went, but from the service to the food everything was spoton, apologies I didn't get the name of the guy that served us but he was very informative and looked after our table, They don't serve mocktails until 6 pm. I'm not sure if that is during the week and different around the weekend. We got the nacho cheese, which was amazing, and wings for starters, We shared the main Kung Poa Chicken, which was enough for 2 of us. We ended up getting 3 mocktails, which were very tasty 😋 We spent £50 plus They have a service charge, And a tip jar at the counter.

We went there to celebrate my son's new job and since he has just moved into the area we thought we would try this restaurant as we wanted halal Chinese food. We were seated in an already packed restaurant, which looks like it should be a desert bar. They have limited Chinese options. We had our order taken, by what seemed like only 2 members of staff in front of house. We were also told there was at least a 20 minutes wait. After 45 minutes we had our food which looked fantastic but the portions were small and the taste was extremely disappointing. Extremely underwhelmed. While we were eating the staff were taking our plates from our table. I would never go back

What a hidden gem! Food was absolutely delicious and freshly made. My girls loved the lamb shank, and I had the chicken, mash, which was deliciously soft. Mocktails was very freshening. It's definitely a place to visit again. Staff service was great too!

We've visited Pan ajia a few times now and every single time the food has been on point, the service is fantastic and the venue is clean and comfortable. I love the kung pao chicken, the portion size is perfect and goes perfectly with a side of peri fries. We also get the chicken gyoza,nachos, chops and mocktails and these are all delicious too. We were served by Avais,he's a lovely young man who went above and beyond to check the nut allergies for our daughter and help us choose something to our palate. We will definitely be visiting again and Highly recommend.

Highly recommended lovely place lovely food

Visited Pan ajia on a Monday evening. Parking was readily available. We requested for two high chairs which were swiftly brought over. Ordered lamb chops and goan prawns for starters. The lamb chops were tender and flavourful. I also liked the prawns but found the sauce a little on the salty side. My main was the beef donburi and that did not dissapoint. The beef was velvety in texture and the sauce was delicious. It was accompanied with a generous portion of rice, noodles, side salad and a fried egg on top. My son had a kids meal and the chicken was a little dry. The serving staff were attentive and accommodating. I would definitely be visiting again.

I have been to Pan Ajia a few times now with both family & friends. Our experience has always been brilliant but I want to review last night’s visit especially. Our food was absolutely delicious. I love their Creamy Mushroom & Gnocchi starter ~ beautiful taste 👌🏽 with added garlic bread to dunk in the sauce. I ate with 4 strapping lads & between us we ordered the 2 chicken Donburi dishes, 2 chicken steaks, creamy Lamb Chops, Lamb Rump with new potatoes & the Chicken Tikka starter. We ordered 2 salt & pepper chips & 1 peri fries & though they forgot one portion, the mistake was rectified very quickly! The staff were helpful, friendly & professional & the food was hot, tasty & given to us promptly. The decor inside has changed to a hot pink so if you don’t mind it looking abit Archies-ish, be reassured the service & food are absolutely banging! A very enjoyable family experience!!

Noisy place full of instagram people. Paid a Tenner for THREE lamb chops. Absolute rip. Mains were average. Have to say, service was good. But to slap us with a £10 service charge on our bill made the place extortionate. Will not eat here again. Its only a 5/10.

We tried this little gem of a place after a recommendation from my sister as not frm around oldham, it didn't disapoint, service was spot on, the recommendation from the waiter was brilliant, just what we wanted, nice clean environment

The service was excellent. the staff were attentive, helpful and recommended the togakashi lamb chops... which were absolutely tasty! The food was sublime, served hot and delightful. The environment is very family friendly with a variety of food and drink on the menu. Highly recommend.

This place has potential I like the Asian fusion concept but unfortunately the food didn’t seem very fresh, meat/chicken was really rubbery. Also, I understand inflation but the prices are ridiculous and doesn’t reflect the bland food. The keema nacho starter and chops were nice but not sure I’ll be back sorry

Travelled here twice and after the first time I’ve been dreaming of coming back and it was as good as I remembered! The lamp chops are succulent and flavourful unfortunately we ate them too quick before getting a picture. We also had the prawns and mushroom gnochhi both were creamy and packed with flavour. For mains we had the lamb shank and creamy pasta. The meat on the lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone the gravy was mouth watering and the pasta was the creamiest I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go again, faultless service too what more can u as for?!

Came here last night. Waiter was very hospitable. Definitely was overcharged. To make matters worse both me and my partner had the worst stomach ache after. Avoid. Won’t be visiting again.

Very bad place to eat Came in today walked straight back out Atmosphere was dead, no music no nothing all you could hear was the clanging in the background from work going on. The other thing was the waiter just slammed the menus on the table and left which we found very rude. It was empty inside too i guess i know the reason why. These are simple things that can be improved so please sort them out

Visited on Friday 13th Feb. Arrived as a group of 4. Staff were very polite. Sirloin Steaks, lamb shank and chicken steak were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.

We ordered lots of food, nachos, lamb shanks, steaks, Donburi, lamb chops, Sea Bass and Morrocan Chicken. All tasted really good and service was fast. I'm definitely coming back!

Enjoyed the food, something different, kungpao chicken, Moroccan chicken. It was a bit cold in the place and wasn't busy but don't let that put you off. Worth the visit.

We went to Pan Ajia for a Birthday Meal, we loved the food, service and atmosphere, as it was a Monday, we was looked after and it was quiet, which we liked. The food was amazing, it was fresh, tasty and very generous portions. The staff were excellent, we highly recommend for anyone to try and will definitely recommend to family and friends too.

Came around 8 o'clock on a Saturday and was told there would be a 30 minute wait. We were happy to wait as this is pretty reasonable for Saturday evening without a booking. A couple came in after us without a booking and are told there is a 30 minute wait, but I overheard the waiter saying "I'll sort you out" leading to them being seated before us. When brought up with said waiter, he came out with an excuse that they already came before and left and returned again. Even though I clearly heard the conversation. For starters I had keema nacho and creamy tempura prawn. The keema nacho was ok but was overloaded with keema making the tortilla chips quite soggy. The creamy tempura prawn lacked any flavour whatsoever. For mains we had gyudon wok beef which was full of flavour, cooked really well and I would highly reccomend. We also ordered lamb shank which was really hard and dry, the meat itself also lacked any flavour at all, the sauce on the outside was really good but the meat was bland and hard. Eventually I asked for the bill and this was the first time we were asked how everything was, and we explained it to him. He was kind enough to give me 50% off the lamb shank as he agreed it shouldnt have been like that. I could have raised the issue earlier, when I had my food, however it was late and I didn't want to waste anymore time sending food back and getting something else made, I also wasn't asked how it was until the end. Overall, I feel like the food is presented really well, but for the price would expect better taste. Ultimately however, I am disappointed with the way we were treated at the door initially right in front of me.

Tagarosgi Lamb chops are the best.

We just finished our takeaway. It was our first time trying here and I am so impressed. Absolutely delicious. Full of flavour and good quality. Potions size was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals. Will definitely be coming to dine in soon.

First time coming here and I just say I am pleasantly surprised, the customer service was great very friendly and well mannered staff. I had the stir fry chicken and donburi chicken dish born very tasty and spicy the way I like it!! All came out on time hot and fresh. Lovely and clean place I would definitely come back to try other dishes

Would come back for the korean beef, husband is super picky but he loved the korean beef donburi- it also majorly helped that the staff member was the nicest waiter we have ever come across (and we have tried alot of places up and down the country) my only reservation is that the soft drink can prices are very high, was quite surprised

First time here.. Nice restaurant good service. Starter: Parmesan Mushroom Gnocchi with truffle oil- had this between 2 so was more of an appetiser full of flavour and definitely a recommend. Kung Pao Chicken Dunbori- first bite was really good but whilst I continued to eat it was abit much for me but spice lovers will enjoy I need more of a balance.Need toning down for my liking. Lamb Shank- not my meal but I tried it.. love the mash and veg. Lamb Shank was too fatty and didn't taste fresh. The gravy with the lamb Shank was subtle not a wow factor. If the lamb Shank was fresh then as a meal a recommend but not at the moment. Strawberry Colada Mocktail ( pina colada + strawberry) was good and to my liking. Blue lagoon Mocktail again to my liking. Would I visit again? I had edit this part as I put yes but not sure now thinking back.

I have visited pan ajia a number of times and I have never had any issues. The food is excellent, providing an oriental taste to dishes. There is a wide range of food and drink items on the menu, with reasonable prices. The customer service is brilliant. The decor at the restaurant is good too with space for small and large groups to attend. I will definitely go again and advise others to do so to!

Only like the togorashi lamb chops. Everything else is kinda basic. Worth visiting for just that though.

family friendly and reasonably priced we enjoyed this restaurant in oldham quite a bit as all dishes came out hot and tasty. everyone enjoyed their food and my medi steak was delicious with its sides and creamy peppercorn sauce. all the dishes looked great and they have a good varied menu from fish to burgers to pasta. I would go back and I recommend you try it once. there’s a car park and we got lucky that there was an event outside in the square too. added fun to our evening :)

The starters were really good (chicken gyoza and tempura prawns) but the mains were way below average. The lamb rack was flavourless and dry and the lamb shank didn’t even taste like a lamb shank again it was just too hard and flavourless. The service received was appalling. We got to the restaurant and the guy that greeted us was just really moody and not welcoming at all. When we did need someone to help us with something nobody was available. There were 3 of them on the floor and all of them had their backs turned to the customers. I had to wait 5 minutes to get the attention of someone. For a place that is run by Muslims the attitude you receive in return is not a characteristic one should have. Went on the recommendations of a friend but I wouldn’t recommend it further.
