The menu description wasn’t wrong when it said, Chinese fast food to take away Authentic Peking & Cantonese cuisine (Quality Restaurant style Meals) believe me I have had some Chinese dishes and eaten in some really nice Chinese restaurants, but this little gold mine of a takeaway takes some beating. I don’t usually do reviews for takeaways, I make an exception for this one, the food is delicious, and the menu is fantastic. The chicken wings, the chicken fried rice, and chicken curry is gorgeous and very tasty. 10/10 from me for certain, and I highly recommend it has it was highly recommended to me by family and friends. Can I just point out that I have read some really negative reviews about Hong Liang chippy that certainly do not reflect the food and service of this chippy, and I believe these are fake reviews from other takeaways trying to distract customers away from this little gold mine.

Not good ..long wait to be served as they are more interested in the telephone orders ..once served and home food was cold .

Not enjoyed chippy this much for a LONG time! First time ordering tonight & I definitely will be again soon. Everything was hot, fresh, absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the chicken sweetcorn soup & the sausage was very tasty - everywhere else they have gone tastless. The onion gravy was mouthwatering, as were the chips - lovely n fresh ....the pudding was just perfect & peas were very nice - no artificial luminous green like a lot of other places are now. I am looking forward to ordering again and trying the whole menu! Delivery time was very reasonable which is greatly appreciated especially when hungry. I just wish it was still open now as I'd order some banana or pineapple fritters. Until next time....!

Best Chinese takeaway ever carnt wait till it opens on weds to place my order I’ve missed it being closed get it at least 5 times a wk

Can be popular in the area but considering it’s closeness to our home it’s not a takeaway we use regularly. It’s changed owners a few times over the years and of course this changes the food too. The chippy has been here for as long as I can remember. We’d perhaps go more regularly if they took card but it’s a cash only business. The wait can be quite long too but this depends on the time.

You can't go wrong with this Chinese Takeaway. We travel quite a few miles to get to it as the standard of food (certainly for a takeaway) is exemplary. There isn't a Chinese Takeaway near us that compares! 😁 Not sure when we went here last but it's quite some time? Things have changed a little and the food wasn't up to the standard it has been on previous visits. It wasn't off or anything, just a little bland and slightly smaller portions - and of course, with the hike in prices everywhere, the cost had risen. I'd still say it's pretty good, but I don't think we'll be going out of our way as we have done in the past, taking into consideration we have been travelling well out of our way to go here.

Hong liang has been our go-to local chippy for over a decade. The food is consistently tasty and the staff are very friendly. It can get busy at times but generally the wait times isn’t too long. We find that it’s worth ordering on the spot than ordering over the phone as you can gauge the wait time by how busy it is.

Horrendous beef tasted strange like it was out of date phoned to complain and they didnt except my complaint and told me the beef was fresh, which clearly it wasn't I've had beef curry for years from here I won't be ordering from them again!

Called up to make an order, the woman taking the order was very very rude telling me to hurry up! I asked what drinks they did and all I got was they do “loads so choose” very very rude. Wouldn’t mind but we order from here a good few times but not any more! So angry!

Ordered from here for years and until today the only problem I had was the delivery time, but today when I phoned up to order and I asked what cans of drink they did she says “we do loads so just hurry up and choose” I ended the phone call because I was shocked and they had the cheek to phone me back and ask if I still want my order 😂 safe to say me and my partner won’t be ordering from here again we ordered from Ming yip instead and let me tell you it was 100x nicer the chicken was so soft the curry sauce didn’t look like it had been left to sit for hours and warmed up and was delivered in 30 mins instead of 2.5 hours so if you see this I highly recommend Ming yip 🙂🙂

Really nice chippy English and Chinese

Best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Quick to deliver and I haven’t had a bad dish yet. Some things can be quite pricey but definitely worth the money. The only place I get a Chinese takeaway from.

Phoned up for a delivery at 19.15pm told delivery would be 20.00hrs then got a phone call from them to ask me to pick it up at 20.00hrs got there to be told it wasnt ready and delivery drivers sat outside absolutely terrible service disappointed to say the least they didn't even apologise 🤢

Absolutely the best food in the area, however when they say 75 minutes for delivery then turn up an hour after that, it's so frustrating . The just say delivery in 3 hours instead then were not waiting. This is not a one off because there busy at this time of year, its everytime but like I say the food is delicious. Maybe get another delivery driver or just tell the truth of how long it's going to take.

The best Chinese going, food is lovely hot and fresh. You have to wait over an hour for your food ,but it is worth it.

Food is usually really good but the 3 hour wait today is such a joke! Despite it being a Saturday night, if they told us how long it would be rather than say 75 minutes originally we would have picked it up. We ordered at 5:15 , rang them at 7:10 (we have them a while grace as it is usually slow), was told 20/30 mins more but it didn't come until 8:05. The takeaway is really popular as the phone is always off the hook and everyone who has been there loves it, even all the way down in Collyhurst. I just wish they would get some more chefs/ drivers to cope with the demand

Ordered from here for years, suddenly food has become bland, and not very nice. Its a shame because Ive always recommended it.

All the food was tastelessly bland it was greasy and the chicken and meat were the reconstituted variety, even the fried rice was tasteless how does that happen? I was really disappointed and will not order from here again.

Decided to try this place as it is local to me, ordered around £25 worth of Chinese dishes and was very disappointed. Prawn crackers were chewy and bland Sweet and sour chicken tasted like sugary water Vermicelli was overcooked and had no discernible flavor Crispy Shredded Beef was OK at best BBQ ribs were watery and mostly bone with some fat The chips were respectable, though nothing to write home about I'll admit this could have been a one off and I may have gone on a bad night, but I get from another local Chinese chippy down the road, and it is consistently delicious and I've never once been disappointed. Would not recommend, save your money and order Magic Wok instead

My food arrived in 1h and 20m prawn toast was as hard as rock it wasn’t possible to eat, noodles were so dry and the shredded chicken didn’t have the right flavour sauce to sticky and chicken so dry I will not be ordering from here again.

Absolutely delicious food... The juiciest tastiest chicken!D our new favourite...staff very polite and welcoming. Place is spotless.

Salt and Pepper dishes are very nice. Shop always seems busy, but you do get your food fairly quickly.

Used to be my favourite Chinese chippy but since the new year there prices have gone up n portions have gone down plus the last couple of times we've ordered my full family have been cured over with stomach pains! Been very disappointed at least he last 5 times we've ordered!

Best place in Failsworth if you like your salt and pepper meals. Always busy on a weekend evening but worth the wait.

Waited nearly 2 hours for delivery and still had to ring and ask where it was told them not to bother as they wasn't even apologetic

Really disappointed with this. This was the WORST Chinese I have ever had. The salt and pepper chips were all hard, dry and crispy to the point eating them nearly broke my tooth! The ribs were chewy, dry and fatty. Not soft in the slightest. The special fried rice was tasteless with the tiniest bits of meat in, the prawns tasted like water and the peas were hard. I had to pour the sauce from the ribs over the rice just to make it edible. The salt and pepper chicken was hard, with more batter than actual chicken. The guy asked us if we wanted mild, medium or hot and we chose medium and it was too overpowering, we nearly chose hot. I'm so glad we didn't. The only thing that had flavour was the vegetable soup and even the carrots in that we're rock hard! We have had A LOT of Chinese in our time and this was by far the worst! We were so disappointed. I feel upset that we wasted our money. We won't be getting anything from here again and I'm shocked that people have gave it 5* ratings!! That was what made us order but we won't be doing it again. I suggest to anybody to stick to what they know with their Chinese and don't take a chance with this. I wanted to take it back and get my money back but my partner wouldn't let me, I never leave reviews really but feel I need to tell people about this place. We was so looking forward to it, it smelt amazing but everything was just dry, over crispy, hard and flavourless. Sorry about having to do this but I felt I had to be truthful. If I could attach photos to this review, I would. We wasted our money and have left most of the food. The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because I can't give none. PS: I had to use salt!!

Great quality Chinese food. Food is always delivered hot and fresh. Staff are friendly. Lovely and clean inside the takeaway. This takeaway can get extremely busy due to its popularity with locals so it's worth asking the delivery time so your no when to expect your delivery. It's well worth the wait though.

Lovely food would love to recommend but would suggest you call 6hours before you want food as it will take you that long to get through to them.
