Palompo's in Fife

We visited the restaurant last week for the first time in ages and although the food was good, the portions were very small. I've noticed their prices have also increased quite a bit, making the portion sizes even more important. So along with another couple we visited Casa Mia last night again, and to my horror the portion sizes were exactly the same and represented poor value for money. The town/city has a couple of very good Italian restaurants, family run also, and offer far more generous portions for the money. Which brings me to the conclusion that it will be a while before I return here.

Had the best lunch today . Food was delicious and a nice wee touch of Burns Day with haggis bonbons for starter. Staff were great and a nice relaxed atmosphere!

We came here for our Christmas dinner this year, having not heard much about the place before, and we were absolutely blown away. The service from start to finish was impeccable, the food was brilliant - empty plates from all guests, the cocktails were great value for money, and the restaurant had a lovely ambience and vibe for Christmassy vibe. Even although it was Christmas day, we did not feel like we were rushed, we weren't crammed in like sardines and we were catered to as an individual table instead of part of a sitting which made the whole thing a much nicer experience. The whole family enjoyed it & we will certainly be back.

We had a beautiful meal with our family. Best meal out in a long time. We are x2 gluten free, we could eat almost everything from their menu and they can accommodate re gf bread/toasted roll, pasta & pizza. We had prawns cocktail, pate then steak diana, came perfectly cooked, it tasted amazing. Friendly service and great atmosphere! Thank you 🌸🌿

Over many years, we have found Little Italy, food, service and atmosphere to be super. Being a lifetime hotelier, I understand costs, overheads and pricing strategy. Every operator has to make their own decisions about pricing but I am aware of many locals who used to visit Little Italy more frequently but have found simple house wines at £30 -£35 just too much. St Andrews is now a very expensive destination and hotel prices are eye watering. Good luck to the owners of Little Italy. We will be back and we appreciate the overall package. 😊
