Palatino in Islington

¡Me gustó tanto la comida aquí que ni siquiera pensé en tomar fotos cuando llegaron los platos! ! El entrante de verduras tempura con salvia frita fue un gran abridor. A esto le siguió el famoso Cacio e Pepe y varios otros platos de pasta deliciosos. Nos sentamos en una mesa grande y encantadora cerca del paso de los chefs, por lo que la emoción de ver los platos que se estaban preparando ayudó a abrir el apetito. Este es un lugar habitual mío ahora. No puedo esperar a la reapertura después de esta crisis de Covid - 19.

Vine aquí el sábado con Ava Experience. Personal muy acogedor y atento. No me puedo quejar del servicio o la comida. Se dejó una botella de Prosecco sobre la mesa y se cambió cuando estaba vacía sin ningún problema. La comida era deliciosa, hay un menú especial para los huéspedes de Ava Experience. Las raciones eran generosas, auténticas y preparadas a pedido. Muy recomendable.

Comí aquí solo desde el menú del restaurante temprano. Fue excelente. Me hicieron sentir bienvenido y me senté en una mesa donde se ponía sobre la mesa pan encantador y agua de cortesía. Como estaba en este menú, me ofrecieron el spritz de la casa (que tenía), Prosecco o refresco de cortesía. El spritz de la casa estaba delicioso! Tenía licor de cereza y alcachofa y era una versión suave de un Negroni. El restaurante es bastante moderno pero tiene un ambiente agradable y relajado, ya que, como una mujer solitaria, a veces puede parecer un poco incómodo, pero luego me quedé para tomar una copa de vino en el bar. Algunos vinos y cócteles también se ofrecen hasta las 7 Tuve bruschetta con mozzarella que era excelente y muy bien sazonada y luego albóndigas de pollo y panceta que venían con una polenta. Normalmente no soy fanático de la polenta, pero esta fue hecha con pistacho y estaba deliciosa No tenía espacio para el postre (en su lugar, elegí el vino), pero había una opción de tiramisú o helado de vainilla. 2 cursos fueron 16 y 3 por 20 Realmente excelente restaurante, comida y personal. Sin duda vale la pena una visita.

Una perla del quartiere di Clerkenwell. Atmosfera cosy, provate i vari antipasti come le anchovies e stracciatella. I secondi di carne sono buonissimi, provate la cacio e pepe ma sopratutto la pajata! Ottima scelta dei vini, dolcetto d’alba ottimo! Buon assortimento di amari.

Came here with a colleague for a quick lunch. We ordered cacio e pepe and a couple of there daily bread starters. The pasta was super good. Really enjoyed it, perfect for a Friday lunch and I will definitely be back. Great service and a very nice chilled space.

The unlimited pasta thing is so far from worth it. You only get a choice of 4 very meh pasta dishes. The regular menu looked ok from the other tables that were ordering. I was expecting that you could order any pasta dish from their menu which would’ve been so much better since you get to try lots of new stuff instead of the 4 super average dishes that were available. Staff were friendly.

My daughter and I have eaten here several times and we are on their mailing list, which is why we received and offer of 50% food. We booked a table and the restaurant was fairly busy. We decided to share a large portion of cacio e pepe to start with. It is expensive at £17 but as we were getting 50% off, we decided to order it as we have enjoyed this dish many times in Rome.The pasta was overcooked and very stodgy. We ate it as we were hungry but would not order it again. We ordered roast guineafowl with wild mushrooms on sourdough toast and cavolo nero. We waited 30 minutes for this dish as I think ours had gone to another diner. Our waiter gave us a portion of fried potatoes on the house by way of an apology. This dish was sublime and the sort of food we had come to expect from Palatino. The ambience is a little clinical and cold, but that is partly down to the decor. We would return but would not order the cacio e pepe again.

i had a meeting right beside palatino and happened to not have had lunch so i thought “why not?”. the starter - bread with zucchini and olive oil - was REALLY good and so was my main course- reginette alla norma! £20 in total, not cheap but not particularly expensive either and considering the ambiance and the service I’d say money well-spent! I’d definitely come back

We have been there on Friday with a big group of friends without a reservation. The manager Pierre was absolutely professional and kind to find us an accomodatio. Food and wine are absolutely amazing. We definitely come back

We popped in for a drink. This bar and restaurant is a 10 minute walk from Old Street tube station. They have two happy hours, between 5 and 7 pm, with a limited drinks menu. I had a combo of vodka, strawberry liquor and prosecco. It was delicious and only £4.50. The barkeeper very kindly made from scratch a mocktail for my friend who wanted something as near to a pina colada as possible - again for £4.50. The venue is very trendy, with attractive modern décor. The staff were helpful and friendly. I must go back for supper one day.

My partner & i called for a quiet drink found the staff very friendly & an interesting venue. Unfortunately my partner suffered a stroke & the staff were so helpful & kind i cannot thank them enough. I went back the following day to thank them & inform them of his progress - they were all so concerned & pleased that he was on the road to recovery - i had a couple of small plates which were delicious - a shame we didnt have the opportunity to sample the full menu. We are back in Wales now& my partner making good recovery but I cannot thank all at Palatino enough(you know who you are)

Pierre, the excellent assistant manager, welcomed us to the evening with a wonderful unique Sgroppino cocktail. Each course was matched with a complementary Gin Cocktail created by Pierre. The Basil Mojito is one I’m going to try at home. The menu, based around seafood available on the Italian coast was divine. They have regular theme nights here an it’s well worth attending and allowing yourself to be looked after and led on a gastronomic journey.

Lovely location, lovely staff and tasty food. What more does a Londoner need for having a perfect evening. Try anything that waiter/ress recommends.
