Locale 100% italiano, da una parte trovate Zia Lucia con le sue fantastiche pizze, e dall'altra Berto con una varietà di piatti di pasta saporiti e abbondanti, inoltre qui oltre alla cucina trovate anche i classici drink italiani perfetti per un aperitivo o per accompagnare i vostri pasti (spritz con aperol, negroni, amaro montenegro e vini/birre italiani). Personale fantastico: Michele e tutti i ragazzi dello staff Federico, Marco, Tonino, Bruno, Vale e tutti gli altri ci hanno fatte sentire come a casa, ci hanno accolte sempre a braccia aperte durante il nostro breve soggiorno a Londra ..è stata una vera fortuna incontrarli! I had lunch there this weekend & It is the first time that I tried the pastas (we usually order the Zia Lucia's Pizzas) and they were delicious (carbonara and pesto) Highlight that Alexia and Diana, our service, were super nice.

Had tried the zia lucia pizzas, but never the pastas and was very pleasantly surprised. We tried a burrata, carbonara and pesto and were all delicious. Alexia and Diana, our service, were super nice.

Poor service, staff didn't check up on us after we got our food and had to ask for the bill twice as we had seemingly been forgotten about

I love Berto's pastas. :) Definitely worth a try. Fresh and delicious. Also, the staff are very friendly and energetic. The ambiance is perfect. I love Berto's for a nice food. :)

Terrible. Awful food. both the pasta and pizza.

The service was really smart and Marco was really attentive and friendly. Had a fantastic meal and would go back.

Very disappointed with this pasta restaurant, where you have to pay 2 extra pounds for the spaghettini in your pasta plate… The prices in the menu are misleading, the price you see for the pasta is just for whatever sauce you are ordering, then you can choose the type of pasta you want, in our case spaghetti (nothing special!) but there is an extra cost! This seems ridiculous! So carbonara is £13.50 but then the spaghettis are 2 more £! Quality of the food is not necessarily bad but it is quite average… Also, not very child friendly, they have seat boosters for toddlers but they don’t have small forks/cutlery… and no kids menu options. Not good feelings in this place. Don’t recommend it.

I ordered from this restaurant via Uber eats . This restaurant is not worth the prices . The pastas lack flavour and the actual pasta noodles was hard. Stay away from this restaurant you will have more flavour and value for money eating a ready meal. For the price they couldn’t even fill the containers . I suspect the pasta wasn’t fresh but stale

I came here with my friend as she mentioned having a very good pizza! And they looked amazing. However, I really fancied pasta, so I ordered the pasta bolognese. The service was good hence why the two stars. Nevertheless, I personally would never come back for the pasta dishes. I am a person how is dating and Italy person and been to other Italian restaurants. Here is why: 1. There were almost no meat in the bolognese sauce. 2. The pasta is gummy and not ‘’al dente’’ if they say is home made that is not true didn’t seem like. 3. The portion for 14 pounds is insanely small. I was looking forward to eat. I couldn’t not finish my plate as I was very very disappointed.

I ordered a delivery from this place and I found they send a tiny porcion of about 200 gr(a third of a 500ml container) for 16 pounds each and it was not even very good. When I called to complain they said that I could put a review if I want but I got no solution or any kind of offer for compensation. I don't recommend this place. It's not a good value for price. I felt absolutely robbed! 43 pounds for what you see in the picture. Judge yourself!

The restaurant is local to me and I wanted to try it out. I ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms which firstly had no taste and the gnocchi did not taste of potatoes and there was no sauce. I also ordered the ortolana pizza which was very average in taste. Lastly I ordered the Holloway salad which was a bowl of alot of rocket with artichokes, tomatoes and onions. Overall the food was below average and disappointing.

Unfortunately have to agree with all the previous recently bad reviews here that I initially dismissed. Decided against them and booked this restaurant for a friend visiting. Staff were friendly but we were sat by the door so every-time the Deliveroo or take out drivers collected the windy froze us but that really wasn’t the main issue. The food was so bland that mine was basically inedible. I ordered gluten free pasta with “10 hour cooked ragu” sauce. The pasta was so sticky but the main issue was the sauce. There was absolutely zero meat at all - hardly a crumb or taste. What was there definitely wasn’t 10 hour slow cooker beef. It was so bland no body or richness. Just a watery mess. I genuinely am no cook but I definitely cook better at home than what was served. Same went for my two guests. My boyfriends pesto was literally tasteless. Zero flavouring. All three of us were covering it all in salt to eat it. We ordered spicy sausage croquettes as a side - three out of five had no sausage inside - just potato! For £78 I absolutely would not go back and stay at home instead. Spoke to another table nearby who equally were shocked at the lack of any taste or flavour. Shame. Interior decent and staff friendly but wouldn’t go back or recommend. Side note the chipped plates make for really bad first impression and the kitchen staff bringing the rubbish bags through the restaurant and past our table makes for really bad atmosphere.

The service is very good and the food is great... but unfortunately, the last visit was an uncomfortable experience, extremely cold, no AC and the pasta portions were very small compared to the previous one (summer time). Friends of mine went there one week after me and were in the same situation, cold, no ac and small pasta portions.

Terrible food, overpriced with additional £1.50 added onto every dish. Bolognese sauce worse than a very cheap jar; barely any meat. Spaghetti with aubergine completely devoid of taste and cannot be called a dish. No seasoning at all, first time I have ever had to douse food with salt to actually swallow it. My 5 year old can make better pasta. Complained to staff manager who just kept saying he “only worked there”. Dessert returned as panacotta inedible.Appalling waste of money and an insult to restaurants

The Genral manger was resist toward my farther and I, refused to sit the both of us next to a heater and wanted to sit us by the door even though 90% of tables was free, after this she had threatened to call the police on the 2 of us. Evreyone else in there the chefs and everyone else were both wonderful and helpful with the situation but the service was so poor

Haben dieses Restaurant zufällig entdeckt und während unserer 7 Tage Reise in London drei mal besucht. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und das Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet. Das Essen wird in einer offenen Küche vorbereitet und alles ist selbstgemacht. Easy 5 ⭐️

I went today to have lunch at Berto Pasta. It was a very nice experience. I had a carbonara and it was delicious, especially the guanciale!!! The service was amazing, friendly and kind with customers. It felt like the typical Sunday at your grandma! I really recommend this place 100%

Excellent new pasta place. Have ordered from here loads, and have eaten in once. Great service and great food. Portions may be a bit on the small side for some of the pasta dishes, but depends how hungry you are.

This place is simply perfetto. Amazing food, really impressive pasta, affordable prices and super friendly staff. This is as good as its sister brand next door Zia Lucia. Won’t be surprised in it creates a huge buzz in the market. Can’t wait to go back and try their wholewheat and gluten free handmade pasta. Top notch!

The service was absolutely terrible, %12.5 service charge for making me feel uncomfortable, the vibe was absolutely off however the food was delicious and well presented. One star goes to the food and - 5 stars for the service 🙂

Delicious hand made pizza in four different flour varieties to choose from including gluten-free (delicious) and a find range of pasta as well (also gluten free) Essentially this is two restaurants side by side with a walk-though Centre. Only niggles are the policy of charging extra for *everything* (for example dressing on the salad) and - a pet-hate of mine - charging 12.5% service charge *and then* having an “add service charge?” question on the card machine to catch out the unsuspecting. But the food was excellent.

Way too expensive for very average pasta. It was eatable, but very overpriced for how average and tasteless the pasta was. You are expecting way more when you pay £14-15 for a normal pasta bolognaise. I didn’t even take a picture of the food, that’s how boring the presentation of the pasta was. Service was also below average. Very slow compared to how much staff and how few costumers on a Friday evening. No smiles, drinks came separately, they took plates away before both of us were done eating and they were very very cheap with the Parmesan cheese, which maybe could have brought a bit more taste to the tasteless pasta. Definitely not worth the 12,5% service charge/tips. Music in the restaurant was very weird and we had no idea what wibe they were trying to do - Italian, rock, pop?! Pizzas looks good though, but we are probably not going back.

Went there with my mum and sister for a lovely day out, was excited to try out, I got the pasta carbonara which the portion was quite small, my mum had the vegetarion pizza, I mean it was full of cheese very oily not nice at all and all it had was a few olives and some onion and a bit of mushroom, I’d hardly call that vegetarion, my sister got the prochuta pizza, the same extremely oily and the tomato sauce was not done properly very watery and still cooked properly made the pizza base very gewy. The waitress did not come to check up on us if we needed anything else or if everything was okay and in the end when I told her I didn’t want to pay service charge she got very defensive and rude. Honesty wouldn’t recommend going there. Just save your money and try elsewhere. Paid £50 in total and it was a rip off

Absolute rip off. £15+ for a tiny watery spag bol. Really should be embarrassed with the food you’re serving. Shocking.

Carbonara was amazing, the starters as well, the ravioli were great. The staff: the guy was really good, he had a great customer service but one of the girl she was annoyed because me and my friend we wanted to order... 😅

Friendly, quick service, I ordered Bolognese pasta, tasty, Pasta Al dente but portion was on the small side for £14.70 The plates were colourful and felt like I was being served a kids meal but I suppose thats just the style, if it was served in a white plate then it would be more photo appealing, overall good experience.

Pastanya lumayan, masih enakan buatan ibu mertua gw sih. Nah kalau pizzanya (Zia Lucia) emang enak-enak ada beberapa pilihan adonan pizza, salah satunya adonan arang patut dicoba.

Ordered on Deliveroo, ticked that I need cutlery and also wrote a comment saying to please add it because I moved house and they still gave me none. Eating this with my hands now :)

Staff were impatient and kind of pushy, were giving us funny looks for deciding to sit in to eat instead of getting a take out because they don't supply cutlery for take away but didn't tell us this when ordering. Female waitress didn't seem to understand English well enough to not confuse the price of my order. I got the bolognese, was very bland, not a big enough portion for the price was still hungry, the egg Spaghetti was so chewy it was like I was eating squid. Not worth the money, £12 for bad food, tiny portion and bad service. Wouldn't recommend.

The pasta is delicious and I often enjoy family meals. A wide range of pasta and with Zia Lucia I find it an amazing collaboration I think that it is one of my favourite Italian restaurants

I gave this spot two chances. First time it was around the open and was a mess and took forever to be served. The pasta was too al dente for me, but I respect that others may appreciate this. The second time I tried I had the same experience between service and food. Very disappointing. I would not recommend given the lack of vegetarian pasta options. Giving 2 stars because I like Zia Lucia.

Excellent food and friendly staff

Two shops in one. The right hand side shop is equiped with a stone pizza oven producing near perfect crust an very tasty pizzas. The Left side shop has a large open plan kitchen, turning out Amazing Pasta dishes. Ragu Sauce : Superb, one of the best in London. Pasta: Superb, cooked oerfectly al dente Food quantity: Excelent,( better than all other italian restaurants) especialy the sauce. Complementary parmezan: Plenty Price: Excelent considering the Quality and the Quantity of the food Service: Good and efficient Tiramisu: Fresh and tasty. Recomended: YES

Food is pricey compare to the quality and the size of their portion. The pasta was not boiled properly, we had to send it back, once got it back, it was the same and the manager was not happy to help or do anything further. I didn’t not leave happy and I don’t really recommend this place.

Nice atmosphere, and feels like an authentic Italian joint, though unfortunately none of us really enjoyed the pasta we ordered - tagliolini with truffles.. it was too sweet from the honey and the sauce did not taste truffly. Also, we thought it was very small portions for the price point. We were hoping it could be more like Flour & Grape or Padella, but this is not that kind of place.

Not bad, but could have been better

By far the best unfussy Italian food I’ve had in the U.K. period. The caciocavallo is amazing - almost impossible to find in London. The carbonara is a must try - haven’t had a bad thing on the menu saying that!

Pleasant pasta dishes but the side "salad" (just some shredded radicchio and rocket) was feeling sorry for itself. Very limited wine list and service was unfortunately quite surly to the point of making us feel uncomfortable. There are better Italian options available in this neighbourhood to be honest.

Decent food but service was chaos. Massively understaffed and stressful place to eat let alone work. Took three attempts to order a bottle of wine. My mushroom truffle pasta was overly sweet with too much sauce to pasta. Disappointed - will stick to Zia Lucia

I really don't know how to share this experience... Food very avarage for the price and you are eating in like you were in a "school cantina"... Which means that some spots are not even considering social distance... It's a shame because Zia Lucia used to be superb 🤤 now it's Berto Pasta so I guess that "justifies" one of the best sourdough pizza in North London sourdough pizza becoming "chewie dough pizza"? 😅 ... Eh well, time to be adventurous! Try some other places! There's so many options! 😊😉

Booked online in April, for May, with a specific request for an indoor table to be sure that we would be not be freezing outside. They confirmed by email that an indoor table would be available on the day we wanted. When we got there, no indoor table! In fact no tables at all inside. The manager apologised at first saying that it was the fault of the person who responded to my email, which wasn't an acceptable response. But we insisted on a solution (other than having to eat outside, because it was cold -- as expected), having gone across London just to eat at this place. The manager then kindly arranged for us to go to Zia Lucia in Aldgate East (the one next to Berto was closed for renovations). Wasn't even offered another booking for a later date, when indoor tables are available.

amazing food, used to go every Saturday before the lockdown. Now we get delivery and it is amazing too, pasta is still al dente when it comes to us. and the tiramisu is to die for

Cute little authentic Italian. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is I felt that the spaghetti was more like noodles than spaghetti. That’s me being picky though. The pizza is really good here though, one of the best I’ve had. I would definitely recommend for pizza.

I get quite angry when restaurants ruin food. I ordered a spaghetti bolognese via Uber eats and although I did not expect michelin starred cooking, I did expect a decent standard seeing as some of their pizzas were quite good. Unfortunately this time the pasta was laced with cheap table salt like it was going out of fashion. I would have sent this back to the restaurant in a heartbeat if I was dining in. Please can the chefs taste the food before sending it out the kitchen as this is really unacceptable food.

Just had takeaway from this place and I must say, the pasta is incredible! Rarely am I truly impressed by pasta when ordering in and my meal tonight was superb. The truffle pasta with black tagliatelle tasted extremely fresh and was cooked to perfection - I’m always a fan of a bit of al dente. :) will definitely be returning to this place once lockdown ends!

Prices are incredible for the enormous amount of food you get, and I've ordered takeaway for 2 twice now with great results across the board. Tip: the caponata is excellent and orders are fulfilled in about 10 minutes. Gem.

Berto is our favourite restaurant and takeaway in London! Amazing Italian - top dishes are Cacio & Pepe and the Burrata & Nduja. Their desserts are also delicious!

Such a wonderful place, incredible food and drink, friendly staff cool decor. Could not recommend it enough and to be honest can't wait to go back again!

I'm not sure why there are so many poor reviews on here, it seems more are for the service rather than the food. There are plenty of Italian restaurants in this part of North London, but Bertos offers something completely different. The food was delicious and decent value across the board. We had lovely fritti to start, the nduja burrata pasta was incredibly moreish and the tiramisu was excellent. The handmade pasta does make it stand out versus other options in the area. We had a table of 8 happy customers (this was pre-COVID) all eating different mains, so surely it can't be just down to some dishes being better than others. It feels a shame this place might not be getting the custom it deserves due to a low number of reviews tarnished by a couple of low ratings. Give these guys a go, they deserve it.

1 Staff member was VERY rude, not giving us menus until we asked, came over to take our order and was silent and made us feel awkward ordering. It was 7pm and they had already ran out of gnocchi which was disappointing. Outside seating was very loud because of the road and there's no barriers with pedestrians so they come right close to your table and you often get forgotten about compared to people sitting indoors. However the other waiter was friendly and made up for the fact his colleague was miserable. Overall, the pasta was a good portion but flavours are nothing compared to Padella, Bancone, Gloria etc who in my eyes rule the fresh pasta market. The plates and interior are cute, however its pricey for what you get, service was hit and miss, I'm undecided if I'll go back

Great marketing, great logo, great atmosphere, even the service was okay, however the main element: food, it needs to improve! None of the pasta had any wow factor! The house wine was great though

Great tableware, OK pasta, bad bruschetta - warm toast with sun-dried tomatoes from a jar poured over (seriously £5 for that??). Moderate plate of OK pasta for £10 or £11. Ate with 50% discount, but not worth full price.

Authentic Italian cuisine here, with a creative touch that makes it really unique. The atmosphere is very friendly and cozy, both kitchen staff and waiting staff. Both the chef and Nicola,our waiter, made sure we were enjoying our meal. Absolutely recommended!

Dreamy food, used the eat out to help out scheme and was a great deal.

A disappointment, which was a shame as we were so looking forward to trying this place. The food was just a bit basic and lacked finesse - we ordered the bread with evoo, which was just plain bread and a tiny lashing of oil and the bruschetta with sundried tomatoes, just store bought cut tomatoes dumped on bread. 2 of the 4 pastas weren't available, or the aubergine puree, which meant neither my partner or I were able to order our first choice dishes. Bearing in mind our booking was only for 7.30pm and the specialty is pasta, we were disappointed with the lack of choice. The Gnocchi Cacio e pepe, while nice to begin with was so sickly and salty towards the end, I couldnt finish it and some of my partners beef was cold. It was also brought out so quickly, we had finished our entire meal in 25 minutes. Missing a bit of a trick as there's not much similar close by but we won't be going back.

Simple but delicious and friendly, efficient service. Cocktails are good value and yummy! Portions were fine for me but my male counterpart thought it could have been a bit bigger as he was very hungry! Overall a lovely experience and would go back again!
