Worse Chinese I have ever tasted Will not be going back ever again

Great takeaway. Throughly enjoyed our set meal for two. Good value for money. Didn't have to wait long for our food to be cooked.

My husband went to the takeaway tonight ordered chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls,portion of chips and curry sause the chow mein was burnt and the chicken balls tastesd very oily

We recently had a takeaway from here. The “egg fried” rice refused to come out of the container and when it did it was a solid lump of overcooked plain rice. It was like sticky sushi rice. The rest of the meal was okay but almost cold (we picked it up at the allotted time) and had to be reheated. The prices were higher than their menu on the website and when queried they wouldn’t honour those prices. Definitely overpriced for the quality unfortunately. I was very disappointed and won’t be returning.

Stopped in to make an order and was informed it was cash only (tax avoidance?) Asked to place an order whilst I went to get cash but was told it can’t be put in until I pay - don’t understand how this is any different to a phone order of which many were able to be taken whilst I was there. Ended up not going back after the trouble of finding a cash machine in the rain.

Just got our dinner from here and was so good we had to write a review! Really really delicious food with quick, friendly service! Will be back, can’t recommend enough!

I have a 25 mile round trip to collect food from Pagoda Wok, but it's well worth it. I've tried other Chinese Takeaways closer (Barnstaple) but the food is nowhere near as nice.

Popped in this evening to try out the food as my partner and I have recently purchased a house in the area so wanted to scope out the local takeaways! Lots of marked vegetarian options on the menu which is fantastic as we're both vegan. Between us, we had the mixed veggies in black bean sauce, veggie curry, crispy seaweed, steamed rice and salt and pepper chips. Everything was very tasty and the portion sizes were large! Will be visiting again😊

Brought a chicken curry it was un edible .I'm used to hot curry but couldn't eat this it .First time going there won't be going again

Have had food from here many times the salt & pepper chips are the best we’ve ever had and everything is lovely the only dish we’ve had that we felt needs improvement is the chicken balls they are abit tough. Everything else has been brilliant highly recommend the salt and pepper chips they are fantastic!

Tried twice one first time a 5 star experience second time I got ill from crispy pork that did not taste fresh only had one fork but still … 3 star because first time was really good

Do you even own a phone called like 20-30 times in a half hour period and nothing, I would definitely consider having a look on Amazon for a new phone.

Absolutely disgusting. The taste of rancid oil overwhelmed the noodles which were smothered in it. Chicken in black bean was probably OK but the whole thing totally ruined by the old and disgusting oil that was used. Don't go here .

Had a reasonably good meal from here. The food was tasty and hot. Portions were generous. I rang the order through and asked if they wanted me to pay over the phone. Was told they only accepted cash payment after placing the order. Not being from the area, I then had to try and find a cash machine. Thankfully I found the Spar in the square had a post office counter. Having spent over £40, I would have expected some free prawn crackers but they wanted an extra £2!

Worst Chinese ever, we waited half hour for food which was ok but in that half hour wait at least 5 people returned with items missing, so we thought to check ours, we thought it was ok but when we got back we had egg foo yung instead of rice,too far to go back. The curry was dreadfull not like curry at all hardly any meat in. And the chow main was the same, chicken balls weren't cooked far too soggy.. we usually go to the Mandarin but was closed. They over charged us, and under and over charged others.would give no stars but had to give one !!!! Will not be going back!!!!

Actually a very good chinese for a small town. If you're looking for a satisfying take away do not go to Fred's charcoal and grill (absolute rubbish), instead go for the good old classic chowmein....Our favourite!

Thought it was a bit pricey, but after I tasted the food I was more than happy to pay the price I did. I would have rated it 5* but it only takes cash

Worst chinese meal i have EVER had , it was awful , NEVER AGAIN ! The duck with plum sauce consisted of a few bits of overcooked , blackened meat that could have been anything on top of some soggy beansprouts swimming in water , horrible . The tiny bit of ' plum sauce ' was runny and tastless and the ' chefs special fried rice ' was soggy , soaking in water with a few bits of unidentifiable meat and bits of carrot mixed in . I binned the lot and cooked myself sausage and mash which I wish I'd done in the first place and saved myself 20 quid .

Usually not bad but tonight amazingly awful!! Salt and chilli ribs had neither and pork chow mein had no pork,??? Will not be going back 🤬

Was ok for fast food,had curry and rice, pineapple fritters,curry fine but to peppery for the wife and I struggled but eat it all, pineapple bit hard but ok, personal preference thou,

Tried Pagoda Wok for the first time after moving to the area last Saturday. 1. Crispy duck which came on the bone which was a nice large tasty portion! The wraps only came with cucumber not spring onion (bear in mind if you like them with spring onions) 2. Mixed starter - Nice ribs, Nice satay chicken (note the satay sauce comes separate in a tub) with standard spring rolls. 3. Salt and Chilli Chips - The chips were lovely, I would certainly order these again. It was a large take away sized tray, easily enough for 2 or 3 people to share. 4. Chicken Curry - The business! Nice and spicy, a darker curry sauce with real flavour. One of the nicest curries I have ever had from a Chinese take away. Two other customers also ordered this whilst we were in the shop... says it all! 5. Shredded Chilli Beef - Nice amount of sauce and tasty. 6. Seaweed - The seaweed had too much sugar in it which tainted the taste. I wouldn't order this in the future. Overall: I would defiantly visit this Chinese again! I am looking forward to trying more dishes from the menu. A solid 4/5 stars!

Never been disappointed by pagoda wok. fast, friendly service which is reasonably priced. will continue to order from this takeaway

When moving to any new area a good Chinese Takeaway is an essential find - Pagoda Wok ticks a lot of boxes. Very friendly staff, reasonably priced dishes and delicious food! Will continue to return as haven't been disappointed yet.
