Pacamara Food & Drink in Dundee City

Delicious freshly made food and excellent service. Especially good if you like eggs in all shapes and forms and if you are a veggie. So good that we went back the next day for brekkie.

Pacamara is a breakfast lover's paradise! Their dishes burst with vibrant flavors, showcasing the freshest ingredients imaginable. The coffee? Sublime. It's clear they put love into every detail. This place is my new obsession.

Noted a post recently saying that you were not welcome if you only want a coffee or cake. Simply not true, I am someone who has visited this cafe after visiting my very elderly Mum at her care home nearby. Every time i popped in for a coffee and cake, the staff were brilliant especially when you are feeling very low over your dear mothers deteriorating condition. Please visit and enjoy coffe cake and helpful staff. Ewan

This "cafe" only want folk who are spending money on full meals. You are not welcome if it's just coffee and cakes even if there are empty tables. Similar to other reviews on this review site, seems to be a trend. Won't be back.

Not dog-friendly any more. Breakfasts were great, coffees were decent, and there was a contented air about the place for a Monday morning.

I’ve been looking for a decent Cappuccino in town for days. A big thanks to the girls who make the coffee. I’ll be there every morning as long as I’m in town.

Very disappointed, usually one of my favourite places to go. Service poor, waited 20 mins for order to be taken and another 20 mins to get a coffee. Breakfast sparse, not what we expected.

Pacamara has long been a favourite of mine so when I was in Dundee I popped in with the wife. It was our first visit since the refurb. After being seated and given menus we waited for over 10 minutes for a waitress to take our order....no one came. I approached the counter and was told I couldn't order there but someone would be at out table soon. 5 Minutes later, (15 minutes after being seated) our order was taken. Two coffees, two breakfasts and two glasses of water. 30 minutes later (45 minutes after being seated) two coffees arrived. Mine was undrinkable. I can honestly say it was the worst coffee I have ever been served. 5 minutes later (50 minutes after being seated) the breakfasts arrived. The waitress asked if we would like anything else. We replied 'yes, ketchup please and the glasses of water we ordered'. She departed at which point I noticed that they did not bring what I ordered. As the set breakfast only contains 4 items that was quite an achievement. 5 minutes later (55 minutes after being seated) the waitress brought the ketchup and water. She asked if everything was OK? I pointed out that the order was wrong. Another 5 minutes passed (a whole hour minutes after being seated, and 10 minutes after the food was brought out) the waitress came back to apologise and asked if I would like to make another order. I said 'no'. So to sum up, it took an entire hour to serve up a cup of undrinkable coffee, a glass of tap water and get served the wrong 4 items. I hope they get a grip soon because there are far better places on offer. I won't be heading back any time soon. A total shambles

Have been huge fans for many years and thought of it as best breakfast venue in Dundee. Hugely disappointed on most recent visit. The refurbished decor includes areas of perforated metal panelling which amplifies the noise and makes it more intense in a small area. We were aware of how noisy it was - which we had never been in days gone by. Padding some of the panelling would help this. The menu was the same classics but not cooked to anywhere near usual standard. Instead of the lovely crispy grated potato hash browns it was commercial catering bland variety; items were overcooked, eggs were cold. Sadly they are no longer dog-friendly - little local dogs nestling under tables are missed. Truly disappointing.

Excellent brunch, great coffee and friendly staff. We love going here because well behaved dogs were welcome. Our Greek rescue would sit quietly on his blanket under the table while we enjoyed our waffles and Colombian eggs. It's a real shame that keyboard warriors who cannot control or train their dogs, spoil it for the rest. Arrived to what I thought was a dog friendly cafe, little did I know they had to be completely mute. Was a little bit taken aback and embarrassed to be told I would have to sit outside if my dog continued to bark. I am fully aware how annoying it can be when dogs are constantly barking and I would never force that on anyone however this was simply not the case. A single bark every 5 minutes is hardly a nuisance, especially considering it is supposed to be a dog friendly place. I’ve never been asked to move because of my dog ever and in this instance I could not guarantee that my dog would not bark, so I felt awkward and forced to sit outside on damp seats as it had just been raining. Also as I was waiting on a friend outside for around ten minutes I could hear another dog inside constantly barking and who was quite aggressive as it approached my dogs when leaving. I don’t understand why this customer wasn’t sitting outside. Very disappointing

Went with a friend today for lunch. Waited 50 minutes for our drink and food order to be taken. It was busy but think the waitress should have told us there would be a delay in serving us. Took another 15 mins to get our drinks and half an hour for our food. The food however was delicious and very reasonably priced. However service has put me off returning.

As always I read the reviews before heading to Pacamara, and these were quite mixed, which initially put me off. Luckily we made the right decision and gave it a try. Absolutely fantastic!!! I really do not understand where negative reviews could come from, staff was incredibly friendly and even though I often stop at places for a coffee and cake only, it is restaurant's decision to serve food only at certain times. This fact is well displayed on the board at the entrance, so one has to respect their choice. But you cannot fault the friendliness of the staff, food, coffee or cakes. Really worth a visit (and a wait if there is a queue).

Been here a good few times and always enjoyed the food here. It is a busy place and service is a bit slower when busy so don’t go in a rush. Today I had the chicken waffles it was Luke warm, but super tasty so it made up for it!

Lovely restaurant, atmosphere and food. However, if you are wanting a full Scottish breakfast, this is not the place to come to, unless your wallet is very flush! We had family visiting from America and wanted to treat them to the full monty, and for non-buffet this was all we could find that did both black pudding and haggis. But for a full breakfast, the only option is is choose the toast, eggs and 2 extra items, at £7.95, and then add the rest......at £2.50 each extra item, so by the time you have - toast, eggs, bacon, haggis, black pudding, beans, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes, (no normal sausage option) you are up over £20, and that is without a drink! Luckily a few of us ordered the set menu breakfasts, without any extras, but even so our bill was over £100 for 6 of us! So if you want to order just the set menu breakfast, I would highly recommend it, as these were amazing, or even a small Scottish breakfast, again, definitely, but for a full breakfast, I would go elsewhere. If they gave a full big breakfast option, for say £10-£15, where you get the works, then this little place would be absolutely perfect!
