So slow called in advance still not ready and food didnt taste like any other chip shop

I ordered a 2 piece chicken shish kebab via delivery. What arrived however was actually 2 slimy sausage style pieces of minced chicken meat that was a grey/brown colour with flecks of green from herbs/spices? I took the food back to the restaraunt to complain and was told this is what they sold as a “chicken shish kebab”. I explained that I’d never received anything like that when ordering this food from other places before and again was re-assured that this is what they sell as a shish kebab. I re-assured them it was not as described and walked away with no food. Now also disputing a refund on deliveroo because I didn’t want to eat something that I wouldn’t of ordered in the first place had I of known.

Ordered a shish kebab and got a cooked from frozen minced something which looked grey and wet and not safe to eat. The salad was also joke. I was asked to drive to the takeaway. No refund given. False advertising has wasted my petrol, time and money. I now have wasted most of an evening trying to sort ot and am still hungry. Worst takeaway and customer service I've ever had.

Never before and I have had a few, had chicken shish kebab that was made from minced meat and not breast meat. Donna meat also poor quality, wouldn't recommend.....try the Chinese next door.

By there own menu prices and battered jumbo sausage and chips should be £5 and was charged £7 tried to query it and wouldn't engage. Cold and dry food also. Won't be going again.

Had a special meal box sausage ,fishcake ,chips, and curry sauce and a coke Also had a mixed kebab in a naan salad and chilli sauce Food and service was excellent Good price for £13.20

Best Fish and Chips I had in years!!!

Placed order, instructed no salt & vinegar, but they plastered the whole order in it! I pointed out that we specified no S & V, but staff adamant they were right, showing me evidence in the means of a biro written S & V on the order. So that makes them right and me wrong. We 100% said no to S & V, but in this chippy the customer is obviously never right. They just weren't interested in my complaint! On top of that we ordered large cod, but I think their idea of large is small! Very disappointed! Needless to say we'll never use them again! Whatever happened to goodwill when it comes to your customers!

Nice fish and chips, all well organised in these strange times with only two people allowed in the shop at any one time. Update. Mediocre chicken and chips, might give it a miss next time.

Chips tasted old and sausage abit undercooked.

Use this chippy if visiting Shrewsbury and staying on the nearby camp site . Past couple of times it's been good . Visited this week and the quality of the cod was very underwhelming. Smallish , despite being a large and it was quite dry . Don't know what's changed over the years but will probably go further a field on our next visit .

Decent chippy. Ok it gets busy and sometimes you have to wait but means you know your munch hasnt been say under the heat lamp for ages. Lots of crispy batter. And boss curry sauce. Update 4 years on: Still boss.

I had mix meat and chips the chips where definitely cooked again from the day before and the kebab meat tasted like the day before aswell rubbery absolute waste of money and flavourless never again

Usually very good and have been a regular customer. Went there at 4 o'clock today and was served reheated chips that had clearly been left over from lunchtime which were discusting. If that's how they treat regular customers I don't think I will bother.

Fish overdone, chips hard, curry sauce like water, used to be a good chip shop don’t know if it’s changed hands. Never go again , not friendly, probably the worse fish and chips, I’ve had for a long time. Expensive and poorly cooked and cheap potatoes, 40% were hard bits like they have been re cooked.

Took 40 minutes for then to do my pizza which phoned it though said will be 15 - 20 get there after 15 mins after phone call and they had not started pizza and told will be another 10 told time from phone to getting pizza 38 minutes for then a disappointing pizza covered in fat and no flavour

First time visiting last night. Service was very friendly and fast, and the chips are hand on heart the best ones we’ve had in Shrewsbury! Worth traveling that but further for!

Deliveroo, drivers are driving all the way from town to pick up orders from here, allways waiting time 20 minutes!! We go big restaurants all around Shrewsbury area, our orders for pick up are ready. ( sometimes waiting time it's 5 minutes) 2 lads from here are very unprofessional. The one young, its 👍 👌

Don't do fish and chips very often as usually disappointed, had cod and chips,cooked fresh,about £9 ,in this current climate is very reasonable, big piece of non greasy fish,and a very decent size portion of chips.cant complain. £15 in Stratford upon Avon the week before.

Disgusting. Eaten from here months ago and was really nice. Tonight chips were horrendous last nights or last weeks. Pukka pie stodgy peas tasteless majority went in bin what a waste of food and money. Will not be returning

Fish was very overcooked and dry and the chips were just about OK First takeaway in ages so very disappointing.

Overcooked fish and chips. Fish very dry and tasteless and chips equally tasteless. Portions are much too large and we ended up throwing half of it away. 15 minute wait, unlike most chippies that predict demand and have fish ready. Parking is chaotic, despite a large car park, people jam in the small space outside, blo King each other in. Won't be back.

Chicken Meat in a Pitta with a cone of chips ..... Chicken was warm,flavorless,dry and had chewy burnt ends served in a cardboard pitta filled with dry cucumber,over-ripe tomatoes,limp confetti shredded lettuce and fermented onion slices. Cone of Chips that tasted like they were cooked last night and barely filled half the container. Over priced,under portioned.. I'll give one⭐️only because the salt n vinegar did add some flavour. NOT your traditional Great British Chippy. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Worst fish and chips we've had for a long time! Had to throw most of ours away.

Disappointing. Soggy chips that came without the salt and vinegar I asked for, and the battered beef burger I ordered turned out to be some tasteless mashed potato pattie thing in breadcrumbs with a few peas and carrots in it. I'd walked there, so by the time I got home and realised what a mess my order was, it wasn't worth going back to complain. I won't go back at all.

Top Drawer! Generous portion size, great tasting chips. I had Steak and Kidney pie and my Mrs had Chicken and Mushroom. All of it tasted great! Friendly staff and clean shop. No complaints from me.

I had read someone else's review that mentioned burnt batter. I waited for my order to be prepared and had hoped that my experience was going to be one of the 5*'s. Sadly not. The chips were tough and appeared to be 'old' ones. And yes, the batter was burnt. Significantly. And it was swimming in oil. As I tried to cut the fish, the oil was coming to the surface. The fish seemed dry inside and didn't really taste that fresh. We visited the shop whilst visiting Oxon Hall for a brief holiday. We won't be back there, nor to this shop. I gave two stars for one reason. I too found the chap serving to be very blunt at first. But after a brief friendly chat, he seemed to lighten up a bit. Overall, its not great food at all. And the service is nothing to write home about. I was the only one waiting, so he could have seen how 'well done' the batter was. Too well done. If the chips could have been loaded into a gun, you could have shot a cow with them.

From placing my order to collecting it, 10 minutes wait as everything was done fresh. Had to wait outside for the order to conform with covid distancing. Well worth it. 👍🙂

Great chips!! huge fish!! Lots of meal deals to satisfy most people. Owners are always very smiley... Plus my kids love the fact that they get a free lolly every time. Sometimes a bit a queue at peak times but always worth the wait'

Called in on as a one off whilst travelling, great selection of food for a fish bar takeaway, reasonably priced and well worth it, food was brilliant, hot and one of the tastiest chippy meals ive had, really nice, pity I don't live locally would definitely return and recommend, friendly staff too.

Approx 15/20minute wait but worth it. Lovely fish and chips. Order first then back out to wait. Hard working, pleasant and polite.

How anyone can burn fish. The fish was well and truly overdone Batter burnt Would give minus marks.Chips were mostly Chips which should. Have had bad bits cut out prior to cooking.I have been on previous Occasions same result. I thought I would give them another chance.

Staff were friendly enough but it took an hour to make 2 pizzas! Pizzas were decent

Thoroughly great staff and really freshly cooked fish and chips. We had 1 cod, large chips(and I mean large- could feed 4) and a carton of peas £9.10. Fresh, hot and served by courteous staff. Thank you. Won't hesitate to use again.👌🍟🍣

Used to be a great chippy but now it is dreadful. Really poor quality food, bad preparation practices and terrible hygiene and just to top it off the staff have very poor English consequently making complaints difficult not to mention getting the wrong order. Want food? Go elsewhere.

Worst pizza I had the pleasure for waiting 45 minutes for, and the most greasy tasteless kebab. Never again.

Not impressed,they dont seem to understand what you want and conveniently forget something you've ordered,can be quite offish if you correct them as well.

Called with my brother, prices around what you would expect these days. But must admit the portions were excellent. Lots of meal deals and midweek special prices. Also does pizza and various kebabs.

Terrible ordered my food after popping to the shop came back my fish and chips was being served up but had to wait close to 5 mins for the turkey stick as they had forgotten to cook it my fish and chips getting colder after being passed my order 1 of the items hadn't been wrapped and as I got in the car the lid opened and went everywhere because it wasn't wrapped to top it off when we sat down to eat the turkey stick I had to wait for wasn't cooked properly and my fish and chips cold so the bin enjoyed them both won't recommending and won't be using it again there is plenty of good chip shops around the area

Not very friendly and I ordered a large fries they gave me the smallest porshen how was that gonna feed 4 people ... it didn't any who I got over charged as I payed for a large but they have me a small.

Stood for 10 minutes to be ignored. They seem to struggle with everyones order and then cook them one at a time. People queuing and some like me walking out. You have to ask 2 or 3 times so they understand the order. Won't be going there again.

Best chicken kebab in town without a doubt! If you have it in a naan then make sure you're hungry and even then you probably won't finish it! Salad was fresh, tomatoes we're awesome. Chips were great but again portions were huge! Great value for money just make sure you're hungry. Also the owner is super friendly, such a nice guy!

I would say the negative reviews (which did put me off going initially) didn't seem to match my experience. Every business has its off days. Can't fault them. Fast, efficient good value. Building on other comments about portion size we got two large chips between family of 4 and threw one portion away.

Dreadfull just had a chicken breast it was cooked from frozen good job only brought it for the dog even she turned her nose up at it fish was all batter and was not cod avoid at all costs

A case for less is more here. The fish chips and peas were quiet OK but the portion is a disgrace. In these days of raging obesity these people should be prosecuted and they charge you for it. £6.80 for fish chips and peas and I ended up throwing half a kilo of chips away. We had been warned by the campsite so got one portion between us. The wife has mouse size portions but I love a good FC&P. Having to bin £3 really hurt me.
