Great place with fab selection..something for everyone..only reason why not 4 stars..because food comes on skillet, by time you eat it everything is burned/over cooked..eg scampi, onions etc.

Second visit for food since new menu both times food was really good as are the bar staff 👌

12 of us turned up out of the blue for a meal, we thought we might struggle, but tables were swiftly put together for us by the friendly staff. From entering to leaving we found all of the staff extremely friendly and professional, especially Josh, who went above and beyond to make our afternoon that bit better. One of our party had a birthday and Josh helped us with the celebrations. Food was very good, hot and all brought out together. Overall we had a fabulous afternoon, helped by wonderful staff. Thank you.

Warm welcome and food was excellent

The people who served us were so helpful, cheerful and very polite. The food was delicious, medium rare steak could have been less cooked but everything was lovely.

Nice pub, service is slow, Food taste was excellent, but stake was nearly all fat and gristle.

Went for a meal for my daughter birthday and the staff was amazing did everything they could to help they was a lot of us but they made sure all the food came together.

This is less of a review for right now but just a consistent one. We have been coming to the Owton Lodge now either as a family, with friends, and even with our work colleagues for the past few years. Though I must say, it’s (somehow!) only continues to get better, with particular improvements in the last year. We come a whole range of times (lunch, drinks, dinner and even Christmas!) A quick comment about our Christmas experience… WOW! Even months before, Matty was so on the ball with answering all of my questions about the booking. As well as the 6 of us dining in for Christmas day, we hoped that we could have the three course to take away too for my disabled family member. Not only did they ensure the food was of a high standard, he still rated it a 10 from the comfort of his chair! The food was amazing that day, as was the service. My mum often chooses the OL for her work related outings too, and notes a particular thanks to Emma who served her and her staff for their Christmas do! Even when there was a mix-up with the food (on their drunken parts… oops!), Emma was very patient and is always so welcoming. Every other time we visit, it’s usually myself and my mum and always happen to be there when Matty and Emma are there. Hospitality aren’t given enough credit at the best of times but these two are phenomenal. They never fail to make us laugh and ensure we have a great experience whatever the occasion! Thank you to the Owton Lodge for everything but Matty and Emma… you’re BRILLIANT!!!!

Just had an amazing Christmas Day at Owton lodge. The staff were amazing, the service was exceptional and the food was wonderful. Would recommend to anybody. P.S The place was packed, so that told me we were in for a treat, and a real treat it was.

Brought our niece and nephew to Breakfast with Santa, 2nd year in a row and again very enjoyable, kids loved it, enjoyed the breakfast and obviously loved Santa, has to be the best Santa we have seen. All staff extremely helpful even when it was so busy with all the kids. Highly recommend

I come here often with my little 1 year old. I just wanted to leave a really positive review, every single time we come here, the staff are always lovely and so attentive. There are only a few other places I've ever been to with staff that are this lovely and friendly. It's always a pleasure to come out here for food or a drink. The food is always lovely too, I've had a wide selection of the menu and it's all delish! Also the kids menu is the best I've seen, it has an under 5s menu which I've never encountered anywhere else. Very spacious inside so always somewhere to sit when we come. Lovely outdoor area. And lots of great community events. Lovely establishment and lovely staff to go with it 😊 thank you!

Went in the afternoon, so reasonably quiet. Staff were friendly and attentive. Menu wasnt bad, but I would have liked to see a sandwich on there. Ordered fish and chips and sausage and mash of the specials menu. Food nice, mum loved the chips! Tea was a little cold, but when mentioned, Barman brought more hot water. Would go again for pub grub kind of food.

When ever I go out for food I only like coming here. Staff are great and food is amazing they cook a great steak and their dirty chips are my favorite. Would definatly recommend.

Food lovely, sizzling pubs needs to update the menu though, hasn't changed for an eternity. Staff nice, especially the tall ginger chap, someone needs to wife him up. Sticky toffee pudding is lush!

The food was good, I must say...service is really poor..1 server at the bar on a Friday evening, 10 minutes wait for a couple of pints and the beers tastes funny,my friend and I had to send back our beer twice,obviously its expired kegs or those taps aren't being used regularly, it's a shame, could be lovely spot, but.................

Food was nice, would order some sides next time as the sizzlers was a small portion and my partner was still hungry. The Only thing that lost a star was the fact they microwaved my bread and it was still frozen in the middle. Staff behind the bar were great 👍

Food took around 35 minutes to arrive to the table, unfortunately some of the meat was a little burnt but still enjoyed it, staff polite and helpful, only thing that let's the place down is the cleanliness. Wood work was very grubby, which would only need a good scrub with soapy water, wooden floor was extremely sticky, and so was our table. Highchair also needed a wipe down before we could use it, toilet doors also very grubby. Wouldn't take much to get them looking cleaner and brighter, cleanliness is a big part of the dining experience and unfortunately this would put me off returning.

The pub was bouncing - but all of the staff were super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Came with my grandson who is nearly 2 to see buzz and he had an amazing time and so did I you have an amazing group of staff members who were very friendly and helpful and there is always someone on hand to answer any question loved every minute and will definitely be back

Staff were very polite and the atmosphere was great. The table was abit sticky but everywhere else looked good and clean. Lots of parking spaces. The food we had was delicious.

Worst Pub! Ordered food from the app serve to table. And a hour went by no food arrived yet other tables got served, nearly 2 hours went by and we finally got our food. Couldn’t apologise that they forgot our order! Just offered free drinks, which was guilt on there part. The meat came burnt too as they had the heat up too high too cook it quickly! This is really bad service for Disabled customers. Would have been quicker getting served elsewhere!

Always had good food here, nice selection of classic pub grub and lots of healthy options too!!! Always a few in during the week but still good service and never wait to long for food. Only downside is of a weekend its full of kids running riot. Not the pubs fault I know but can be annoying

Went in once to see what it was like no atmosphere and the regulars look at you as much to say you don't drink in here well that's fine as we won't be going back not a pub for us

Went valentines night we ordered turkey dinner , was awful , veg tasted like it had been cooked in mucky oil, was dreadful, but have been before that and got steak that was OK just a bit tough.

One young lady serving appeared to be more intent on her mobile , long bar and customers actually looking to be served walking along it,table I was seated was sticky from a quick wipe although manager? Was making attempts to clean up, good parking, nicely decorated, above average.

I got the surf n turf steak which was perfectly cooked and a banoffee cheesecake dessert, the dessert tasted like a freezer so it had obviously been frozen which is fine, given the establishment being a pub but I didn’t expect to taste it

Friendly staff, just a discrepancy between what's in the menu and what they supply from the kitchen, was looking forward to seasoned fries with my meal, after normal chips arrived, I was told that the "seasoned fries" were just normal chips but "salted" (I can do that at the table)... like they couldn't be bothered...

Me and my wife both ordered the mixed grill, food was pretty much cremated. Everything was burnt and really dry. Absolutely tiny piece of steak and could hardly cut it even with a steak knife. Staff were fine and pleasant enough but after fetching the food didn't come back to see if everything was fine which is unusual these days. If we weren't going to a show tonight, and were short on time we would have returned the food. Looks like we will head back to the Travellers rest the next time as that one is always good.

Great food, got here very fast despite how much we ordered. Staff were lovely, we were served by Donna who was lovely. Also the staff were great to chat to would 100% recommend.

Matty was an amazing member of staff that made me feel relaxed and welcome at the restaurant. he did everything he could to make my visit a good one.

We visited the Lodge for a couple of beers after a morning swim with the doggos sadly one of the dogs drank too much sea water and was sick outside the pub Matty was on shift and was absolutely great helping us clean up the mess also my 40th birthday.

We just stopped off for a couple of drinks in the afternoon. They had football on the screens in the bar and the staff were friendly. We didn't have food but what passed us looked good. We sat out front in the large seating area and enjoyed our drinks in the sun. Very nice.
