Absolute delicious ice creams. No need to queue for hours at mary's milk bar whilst you got the best ice cream a few meters away. My favourite the blackurrant&apple sorbet. Oh my, so good!

Best ice cream ever, what a surprise to find this in Scotland. Great taste, huge scoops, premium quality ice cream. Loved the whisky-raspberry taste

Stopped off today and had burnt banana & honeycomb and black forest gateau. Lovely creamy ice cream, brilliant choice of flavours. Why queue for 45mins for Mary's when something this good is just up the road? Bizarre.

Beautiful icecream for a hot afternoon on the Grass market in Edinburgh. Had the seasalt caramel. Served by a pleasant and friendly young lady. Would recommend this.

During CV-19, we aren’t going out as much so have decided to spend more on locally produced essentials like ice-cream! 1 litre of raspberry ripple - was omg delicious 🤤 especially with a quick homemade crumble; the chocolate & hazelnut ripple is to die for. Best ice-cream in Edinburgh no doubt in my mind! & we can’t wait to order more of their amazing flavours. Bye bye Ben & Jerry’s and hello ‘Cool As!’ 😋😋😋 Buy locally sourced & good to their cows 🐄🐂🐃

Positioned for easy access right in the Grassmarket, this ice cream was delicious. I had the vanilla and I loved it. We are from a dairy farming area in Australia and we had a great chat with the attendant about the farm the technicalities of production- it was brilliant! Highly recommend!

Great fresh ice creams in a vibrant location! Try the elderflower sorbet on a hot day, it's vegan too :)

Looking for a big icecream shop we missed the little blue stall at first. But went back and our kid spotted it. Tried icecream with pink peppercorns for the first time and loved it - as well as the raspberry with whisky!

Went here because it had good reviews and the queue at Mary's was way too long. Service was friendly but I ordered the vanilla ice cream which tasted like egg. No idea why but my friend also tried it and agreed - tasted like they'd got the recipe wrong and forgotten to add the vanilla - no idea why it tasted like egg either!! My friend enjoyed her sorbet though.

This is a little stand for on the street. I only mention that because we were looking for a storefront. The ice cream is delicious and the server was very sweet. We also thought cost was fair. We would definitely recommend.

I found this charming ice cream stall while wandering around Edinburgh last August during the festival. The person serving was very friendly and the ice cream was excellent. I had the classic mint choc chip, but there were plenty of interesting flavours available. Highly recommended.

Not all the usual flavours but some lovely unusual ones. Great service from a small stand on a street corner. Recommend the scotch whisky ice cream and the strawberry yoghurt one.

Friendly staff who, because it was quiet, allowed me to sample many of the flavours from a stick. £3 for a big scoop. £2.50 for a little one. They stuff the ice cream a good way down the cone, and it's those decent cones, not those brown formica Mr Whippy ones. Made in Scotland to Scottish recipes.

These guys do the best ice-cream in Edinburgh. They have an organic dairy farm where they make their own ice-cream and they have a great variety of flavours, the one flavoured with Jura whisky is my favourite but the salted caramels is also amazing...as is everything else I've tried. Do a really good espresso too.

The ice-cream is the best I've tasted, I had the chocolate and could tell it was full of organic ingredients. Not too expensive for central Edinburgh and a good chat with the staff...an all round great experience.

You might miss this police box ice cream parlour as they themselves say "Probably the Smallest Ice Cream Parlour in the world!" but if you dont then you will experience pretty unique flavoured ice creams. We like the affogatos there.

The Gods of new enterprises smiled down on the freshly painted police box in the Grassmarket, now home to Overlangshaw Farm ice cream, and served up a real scorcher of a day to go with their delicious ice-cream. Opening day saw a herd of costumed cows serving up their artisan range of organic ice-cream fresh from the farm in tubs or cones at £1.50 for a junior cone or £2.50 for an adult cone (single scoop). Given the location, the quality of the product and the fact that slightly cheaper junior cones are available for little people with hungry eyes but smaller appetites the prices are really reasonable. We plumped for the 'rhubarb and custard sorbet' flavour and the 'royal mile rocky road' that contains a feast of treats including cherries, coconut, marshmallow and honeycomb all served in a really silky chocolate base. Will definitely be back to work our way through the other flavours.

Unpretentious, friendly, homemade, affordable. Not easy to find cafe's like this so close to the city centre.

Last year, mum and I found Max Bakes. Mum had haggis and black pudding and I had feta and spinach. I had never had haggis or black pudding (always put off by the ingredients 🤦♀️) I tried mums and vice versa...both were delicious! This year we planned to hunt Max Bakes down, worrying he may not be here this year, and much to our delight we found him in the exact same spot! (later we found out he is a permanent fixture not just for The Fringe) We order two haggis and black pudding rolls and they were as good as we remembered! Two very happy travellers 😁

Super little cafe, welcoming and well run. Dog friendly. Menu is limited however, if they're not too busy, other options are available on request such as full English breakfast. No obvious vegan options, other than toast. Oat milk available and gluten free bread. Freshly cooked food and really nice coffee. Full of locals, which is always a good sign!
