Outdoor Cafe in West Dorset

Nice simple, tasty food and quality ingredients. Quick service. I had a breakfast bap with bacon, sausage, egg and mushroom. Delicious. Handy location right off the A35 and toilets onsite.

Possibly the worst coffee I've drank this year. Advertised as freshly ground beans but it's straight from an instant machine.

Nice little stop off, just what you need when traveling from Torquay to Bournemouth, as you are not on any motorways there are no services to stop at for a break and a brew. This is perfect, we had a breakfast barm, which consisted of bacon, sausage, egg and mushrooms for £5, bargain. I had a lovely coffee. You can stay on this parking way for 24 hours, which is perfect for a free stopover ( if you are in a Motorhome or caravan)

Had a drink and watched the world go by. Was a nice day so it was very busy. Still managed to get a table

Food freshly cook and of good quality at a reasonable price considering location the only downfall here was the poor state of the men's toilets which to be fair I don't think this responsibility of the food outlet.

Great little place to stop, the owners are really friendly and the food we had was great. Would have loved to have tried some more as the choice was great. It's a real shame the council toilets aren't open - there's some portaloos which are good enough but I just don't understand why the council can't open the proper toilets.

Stopped for a bacon and sausage roll, very good quality. Although the server looked like he hadn't smiled in a long time i will be stopping there again.

Stopped for breakfast on our way home from camping, perfect way to end our holiday food was amazing kids finished everything off highly recommended 👌

Very nice food here a little expensive! £4.30 for a sausage & egg bap & you only get one and a half sausage and the bap was a bit dry although quality is good I felt short changed on the value

It was my usual stop on the 130 mile trip from Devon to Hampshire. I stop for a nature break and cup of coffee. Apart from covid procedures everything was "normal"

Lovely spot, good food, plenty of picnic tables away from the main road and just out of reach of the birds in the trees too! It's the Gingerbread Cafe in case it is not listed as such, on the A35 East of Dorchester.

A real gem of a roadside cafe. Quality food at very reasonable prices. And there's a toilet in the layby too.

Yeh morning yes Jay is very friendly and polite on all accasions that I've been there I tend not to go when the grumpy guy there not at all impressed.

The gods were indeed looking out for us this morning. Could just eat a sausage bap and do with another coffee I said after our early start. Two minutes later we see the sign for the outdoor cafe. Proper bangers and bacon from a decent butcher's, good sized bags and decent coffee. Good range of other products on offer too which makes this layby grub a cut above the rest. Highly recommend.

Stopped whilst passing, lovely little place with quite a good variety to eat, all sounded lovely. Had the quarterpounder cheese, which was lush! Recommend a larger sign on the road as we only just clocked it in time to turn in.

Made the effort to go all the way down to the Kingston Maurward roundabout to come back to this place, wish I hadn't bothered. Can't comment on the food as I wasn't served. The guy wasn't busy, looked at me and just completely ignored me, stood there for maybe 5 minutes waiting for a "good morning" or "what can I get for you?" nothing....... So turned tail and left, never to return.

Bought steak and mushrooms and onions and the steak wasn't cooked properly it was red and stuff.that was the only bad food I have is today 13 January 2020.normaly I don't have problem with the the guy that there most time is brilliant with the food

What a surprise! I only pulled into the layby to give my dog a break but discovered there are toilets here AND this amazing little cafe! Looks good, like a little fairground sideshow, and had a huge selection of snacks.

Sad service, I waited patiently behind the customer in front of me, the grumpy looking chap behind the counter looked at me but did not acknowledge me, another customer turned up and was promptly served ahead of me. Obviously I turned and left, it's a shame really as I always pop into this cafe when I'm passing, maybe just a bad day for him but it certainly leaves a poor impression on me!

We stopped just to use the toilets at this rest stop and decided to grab a quick snack. The burgers were gorgeous. Proper meaty butchers burgers, proper bacon and fresh white rolls. Definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't want a greasy burger from a burger van....this is far from that and probably same price.

We didn't stop for the cafe we stopped for the toilets at 6 o'clock in the evening ! Man there shutting cafe too. Guess it's what we call " greasey spoon " anyway !!
