Our Place in South Derbyshire

Just celebrated my 40th birthday with 20 friends, started on the terrace in the sunshine which was great for mingling and the team brought our bubbly out :) then super flexible as to when we started inside with the food, amazing choice of sandwhiches on the afternoon tea and catered for dietary requirements amazingly. Warm scones were delightful and the mini cakes meant we could all try them :) The best time ever, such good easy communication in terms of organisation, completely stress free party, also sent in a playlist which was no hassle.

What a find, away from the main high street, serving great coffee and lovely food, the cafe has a comfortable seating area, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment or catching up with friends. The overall ambiance was calm and relaxed, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing break from the normal cafes. Staff are always friendly, I see why people keep coming back for more!!

Our Place is a treasure of a find nestled in the lovely village of Melbourne. The food is delicious & the cute addition of doggy bowls cos of course they’re super dog friendly makes it all the more amazing. The ambience & aesthetic is truly lovely & envelops you in a big warm hug. Service is timely, attentive & authentic, which in this day & age is a rare find. Love this place & can’t wait for my BirFUNday breakfast & decaf mocha, which is the perfect blend of coffee & chocolate with a wonderful ratio of each! See you soon…

Lovely friendly cafe. Great food and great service. You always get a friendly welcome and nothing is too much trouble. It’s ideal for us as it’s one of the few cafes in Melbourne which is pet friendly with both indoor and outdoor seating. A text or WhatsApp message always ensures that you get a table and our granddaughter loves the carefully thought out childrens menu.

Day visit to Melbourne and dropped into Our Place. Really warm and welcoming atmosphere with great food and lovely coffee. After a walk round the garden of Melbourne Hall we decided to go back for a glass of wine but sadly we were too late - so definitely next time!! Whilst we were there a group were having cocktails and afternoon tea, perhaps we might upgrade from that glass of wine as it all looked amazing!

Myself and my partner have been coming here since it opened. We are always welcomed beautifully and are given the best service. I'm not ashamed to say I've tried almost everything from the menu and nothing disappoints. Friendliest and nicest cafe to eat at in Melbourne for sure.

We were given a voucher for Our Place as a gift. We opted for breakfast which was absolutely delicious there is a choice of full or light English breakfast other choices too if your not a fan our cooked breakfast. Service was excellent. Such a lovely place with friendly staff too. We will definitely be back and maybe try the lunch menu.

We were in Melbourne for a walk and were heading elsewhere for a pre walk breakfast when we saw this place open. They managed to squeeze 3 of us in and we are glad they did. Between us we had 2 lighter breakfasts and a pancake stack and the consensus was they were all excellent. The tea and coffee were good too which is also a must. I look for 3 things in an eatery, good ingredients, cooked with a bit of love and served by staff that look like they care. This place hit all 3 of those with the added attraction of a nice setting. Great place which we will be returning to.

Had a quick look on Google of places to eat in Melbourne as this was our first visit and came up with "Our Place". We weren't disappointed, the food service, and ambience were just great for a light lunch in our case with coffee. Would certainly recommend after our visit. Thanks

Oh my goodness, we had the most delicious lunch here yesterday! Leek and potato soup with a cheese toastie, it was just divine! Staff so lovely and attentive, lovely decor and atmosphere and we really enjoyed. Thanks for a lovely experience.

Quiet Little Place for a Good Breakfast If you're looking for a quiet spot to enjoy breakfast, this place is worth a visit. The menu isn't particularly special, but the service and quality make up for it. The ambience adds to the overall pleasant experience. A great spot for a simple, enjoyable breakfast.

Excellent food and coffee, recommended for Coeliacs. We had sunday breakfast here, really pleased with the gluten free breakfast and the care taken to manage cross contamination. Eggs Cypriot recommended as well, but not GF due to the sauce. Extra bonus, they are dog friendly.

Four of us went for Sunday lunch, the roast beef was the best we've had at a restaurant for ages. It was beautifully cooked, tender and tasty accompanied with roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and five vegetables - red cabbage, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower cheese and french beans. Reasonably priced, a good selection of wine and great service with a smile.

I had my 60th birthday celebration here. Alison and the team were absolutely first class. They organised everything perfectly and couldn’t do enough to ensure I had a great time celebrating. I had tapas and it made for a fun and informal evening with friends. Thank you for making the evening such a great memory.

I went to this restaurant for lunch and found it nice and cosy with a very friendly atmosphere. I had ham, eggs & chips with salad. I accompanied it with a traditional pot of tea which went along well. My only criticism is that the ham was rather thin and I’d have preferred more substantial pieces.

My friend and I were "Our Place virgins".It was quiet but we were given a warm welcome and sat down.We both had a full English which was excellent. Quality sausages x2 medallions of Bacon, Beans , mushrooms black pudding and 2 eggs together with granary toast.Washed down with piping hot coffee and orange juice. Excellent quality definitely recommend and owner very friendly..

We've been several times for lunch including an excellent Sunday roast washed down with a nice glass of red wine. Ali is a very welcoming host and her food is fresh and tasty, served with a smile. We visited during the Melbourne Christmas lights switch on and the atmosphere was buzzing! We'll definitely be back soon and would heartily recommend a visit for coffee and brownies or a substantial breakfast/lunch.

Came here Our Place for a Sunday roast after a dog walk and it did not disappoint! Food was amazing and staff were so friendly. Really reasonably priced as well. Will definitely be back.

Busy little place but we popped in on the off-chance of grabbing a table and hit the jackpot! Warm welcome, licensed bar and the food was out of this world! Sunday lunch; turkey and all the trimmings and a veggie version for me… made room for dessert too 😉 Obviously a family run venture and I fully support somewhere so focused on providing a brilliant casual dining experience ⭐️- will be back soon

We had our yoga students Christmas party at Our Place last week. Ali was very easy to work with, the service in the night was excellent and the food was great. We'll be back!

You arrive as a stranger and leave as friends. Honestly you couldn’t get a better welcome! Great cup of coffee lovely diverse menu!. When you work from home this is a great place to go to! Open early. Great for a weekend or mid week when you have to get to work or take the kids to their various activities! Would happily recommend!

We went here for Sunday Lunch after a dog walk at the nearby Calke Abbey. The food was amazing (especially the cauliflower cheese), service was exceptional and so handy to be able to take the dog in too (after a towel down!) Would definitely recommend!

Just visited ‘Our Place’ in Melbourne. Newly opened. We had a very well presented and beautifully cooked breakfast and that is coming from someone who is very fussy and particular about these things! Service was excellent too. The interior is gorgeous, warm and very friendly. There is also a sitting out area to the side. A must visit!
