Osinsky's in North Hertfordshire

First couple of pints tasted a bit dodgy and we had a sharing platter - wings and ribs were tepid but chips and chicken strips were very hot. I hope I feel better soon.

Went to watch sport, halfway through match, at 9pm bar was shut with no warning and I was told to go to spoons! Overflowing bottle bins and a mop leaning on bar didn’t help.

tried charging me £23 for half hr on the pool table, asked for a refund at the time of half at the time, still havnt received it

The pool tables are good, yet expensive. Pubs charge £1 per play, yet they charge £12 hr, whilst only taking cash for the rental. Drinks are dear, however usually a good atmosphere, the only strange thing is they sometimes play tv shows instead of sports like they advertise.

Visited again one Friday afternoon after a few years. Was a bit apprehensive based on past reviews but still just as good as lost time. Friendly and polite staff as I was on my own while I waited. Will return again for a proper visit.

Amazing service by team on 19th November. They opened up the place early for us to watch the cricket World Cup finals. The team was super friendly and served us well. Thanks guys!

I’ve really enjoyed coming to this bar for some time. I’m not great at pool, but have enjoyed playing on their tables. I haven’t tried the food as seems expensive for one person. There’s a lady behind the bar with short hair who has helped me a few times and I’ve really appreciated that. Unsure if under new management, but there seems to be a big change in staff

Great sports bar. It's a big but small place so you feel right at home with all the fans. Service is great, pool tables in the back and many screens to enjoy sports! Would visit again! Pints are £5!

What a waste of time!!! New to area and wanted to watch sport and play pool and have decent pint . Nothing of that was available. Beers were disgusting! Pool tables were horrendous and haven’t been looked after ever. At least sports was on tv . I wouldn’t even want to try food with the standards here!! Never will I be back 🤮🤮🤮

Always a popular and busy bar. Booked a table to watch six nations, had some food which was nice (though slightly overpriced), then had some drinks. Usually filled with younger generation (sounding old, I'm 30 but it's usually the young adults in there).

Carissa and Perry are the best bar staff in hitchin 10/10 recommend. Totally slay.

Complete rip off with the pool tables wouldnt come again if im honest

Made an online booking for Wednesday afternoon and got an email confirming the booking. Travelled to Hitchin and when we got the the place was closed. Rang to discuss but no pick up. Looked on Google and found out it doesn't open till 6pm. So, why is it they sent a confirmation email when they must of known the place was shut ??

You can book a table even when the place is shut, so you e turned up not knowing the place wasn’t open for another 5 hours. Went later and tables are in terrible condition, not worth it for free

Really no point having pool tables if you aren’t going to do anything to keep them in good condition. £10 an hour for a table with holes in the cloth, drink stains, cushions with as much bounce as a lead balloon.

This place has gone so far down hill it’s a real shame. I used to be a regular up here a couple of years ago but everything just feels tired and dirty. The tables are a prime example, almost unusable and at £10 an hour a complete rip off.

Great place to go and watch sport. The food could be better. Preferred the place when they done table service.

Me an my friends go out in hitchin an go here every weekend however we have noticed a number of underage drinkers that are getting in with fake IDs or using someone else’s ID and because there is no machine to check it makes it impossible to know however, being around people under 18 who are drinking irresponsibly and acting like children at a kids party it makes our night far much less enjoyable. We are 100% that some of the people are under 18 to as we knew them from school. I just wanted to make your premises aware of this issue so that u don’t loose your license and get an ID machine to stop them from coming in as they avoid all other places in hitchin as they have machines to check.

Massively homophobic. My friend was called slurs by the bouncers and pushed down the stairs due to kissing another man when other straight couples were doing the same. Disgusting behaviour displayed and a vile standard of cleanliness Ranging from the toilets to the glasses. Also saw lipstick marks on my glass would not recommend. Also the drinks are expensive and taste awful.

Its ok for what it is. There were four people behind the bar and one was on a laptop whilst the others were on their phones. When one did eventually look up she told me to ask another member of staff as she sorted out a drink for herself and sat back down behind the bar. The pool tables themselves are in need of a refurbishment. The white ball was considerably bigger than the other balls. The toilets well only one had a lock on it and well lets just say that they were only just on the verge of being clean. Would I come back??.... probably as its a good place to play however I'm in no rush

A friend of mine with a particularly strong stammer was refused entry as the bouncers believed he was too drunk. We understood their thinking, however when we explained that our friend (who was quite sober at the time) just had a stammer, they refused to accept it gave us grief.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Incredibly rude staff who laughed when I asked a question about the pool tables, despite the fact that I had just paid £38 for a round of drinks, (a very moderate round I should add). Would not recommend. Very rude staff. Just go to Speakeasy instead, much nicer atmosphere and much better staff.

Tables are knackered and filthy. Staff just stood around talking noisily, actually off putting from concentrating on our game. Cocktail served without any alcohol in it - we left way quicker than we had planned. On the plus side wasn't busy but perhaps that is for a reason...

I’m a regular visitor to the establishment and when visiting Thursday night I was left absolutely shocked and quite let down. Whilst at the bar there was a few people waiting to be served. The girl on bar was doing her absolute best to get everyone served. Then to my absolute disgust a gentleman went behind the bar and literally helped himself to drinks, didn’t pay then went back to his table. One I find this appalling cos if owner or staff should have helped young girl, 2 why was he not paying, 3 why should he be able to help himself regardless of who he is especially leaving PAYING customers stood waiting. Quite shocking?!

Arrived at 11.15 and Google maps said it was open until 12.00am. Was told they were no longer serving as 12 of us walked in. A friend said to me “they are open until 12” so I said “oh they told us they were done serving” I was then called over to the bar and told I was “aggressive” and they then served someone 10 shots. I was really upset. I did nothing wrong and the closing time was 12am but was told I wouldn’t be served and was picked out and made to feel embarrassed. I was so upset and you will not get my service again.

Worst place in hitchin by far I pub crawled asking for halves in each pub between one side of the town and the other, I asked for a half of Camden Helles, the chap asked if I meant a medium and I clarified "a half" - I received a pint of IPA and paid £6 for the privilege. Give it a miss and just got to the half moon or BBs instead

A sports bar for the day and early evenings, a cocktail bar for your Friday and Saturday nights. Atmosphere in there is usually with young people, for most it's a good meet place to spend the time with friends, but if you're more mature then I suggest other venues. Have fun !

Not busy, great pool tables, loads of tvs with sky sports on, attentive bar staff and a great night all round.

I'm not much of a clubber these days but it is an enjoyable club but it is even better as a bar and pool hall which when visiting out of clubbing hours I had a very good experience and reasonable pricing and the pool table as you rent it out for a set time.

They posted on their Instagram and said if we arrive before 11 we would get a free shot. We went to get our free shot at 10 and they said we couldn’t have it as they hadn’t started charging at the door yet. So we had to pay £10 to get in, to get a “free shot”. I explained to them that it didn’t say this on the advert and that if we only get the shot if we paid then it’s obviously not free, but they’re only reply was that that was the case because it wasn’t as busy as they had expected that night. Which obviously isn’t my problem. It’s only a shot so it’s not that deep but also since it’s only a shot just give us our free shot and stop false advertising.

Staff are not switched on, big match spurs v man u with all screens but one showing the football and the sound playing over the speakers is the rugby shown on the one screen, I told one if the girls and she said oh!! do you want me to change it, clueless!!!!!

One of the staff very rude does not know how to talk to people will not be coming back.

Came in to each with my 12 year old autistic son, who has been previously and loves the wings on the menu. These weren’t on the online menu which was causing my son distress. The member of staff that served us was so helpful, warm and understanding. And managed to get my son the wings he loves!! Thank you so much. Will definitely return.

Decent night out however be careful when paying when the bar people say the card didn’t go through because I’ve been charged twice for the same drinks on my card, not impressed. I have emailed them and waiting a response to see what can be done.

Brilliant atmosphere and vibes. Considering I visited the first weekend they opened since COVID restrictions lifted.. hats off to them. Will go again!

O’sinky’s used to be better. Not bad for a night-out, usually full of a younger crowd. New prices for pool/snooker (£10 per hour) but a decrease in quality (tables stained, cheap cues). Average food and fair-priced drinks. Not bad but nothing to shout home about.

BH Monday, drinks in the market square. Staff warned us about a 20min wait food on arrival. Actual wait was just a few minutes short of an hour. One of the staff came out after about 15mins to say they’d run out of our order and offered a substitute which we took. Drinks arrived, pint glass poured to 3/4inch below the measure. Waited for food. 3 lads behind us ordered pints. When they arrived, they were also short measured; joked about the waitress coming back with the other half. Food eventually arrived. Order not as the menu description. Noted that they brought the cutlery out to tables after food delivered. Sorry, can’t recommend.

The single best person ive been served by (Brad). If he worked at my place he would be getting a pay rise ASAP. Tried to bring him to my place of work I was that impressed. Big tip left. GIVE HIM A PAY RISE. + 300 spent because of him only.

I like to start with a positive and to be fair the drinks were ok. The food was shocking £10.50 for a microwaved, cold excuse for a burger. The concept of alfresco dining is good but the reality is poor!

Very nice and spacious sports bar with a trendy feel

I had a drinks booking for my birthday, but was refused because of my friends ID. However, upon looking at the rules, he has an acceptable ID with a pass hologram, which was not checked by the bouncers. I find this as a lack of professionalism and quite frankly disrespectful as I asked to speak to the manager and they refused. As a result my night was affected greatly and I was very upset.

It's fair to say that in other circumstances a spot of lunch at Ozinsky's would be way down my list of priorities - the prospect of climbing the stairs to the old snooker club premises which now offers big screen sports and other attractions geared to a much younger generation wouldn't be a tempation as far as I am concerned.But we're talkjng Al Fresco, Hitchin's answer to the challenges posed by post-lockdown trading.Market Place has already proved itself a suitable venue for open-air mixed dining with street food celebrations which have yet to make a return, and what we have now is a rota of restaurants and food suppliers who get the chance to set out their stall.One big plus for me with the Ozinsky's offer is the ordering by app, and the online payment that follows - I was able to delegate that to the phone expert in the party and subsequently enjoyed a free lunch.We tucked into entirely acceptable burgers and drinks, with decent chips and sweet potato fries, served up by smiley staff.To be fair, we're still unlikely to make the climb up the stairs once things get back to normal given the choice of restaurants and pubs aiming more directly at my demograpic just a few steps away, but we have a perfectly pleasant lunch in the sunshinw and fair play to the team for getting involved in this joined-up initiative to help the town centre after a devastating few months.

Overpriced drinks. Rude staff. Jackets are commonly stolen from the version of the cloak room that they offer. Do not bring expensive jackets as they will be stolen and the company will not compensate for it. Inadequate customer service

No snooker tables and the tables aren't level. Quite a slow cloth for a supreme table... Awful and over priced. Cues are dreadful. Not a good place to play pool.

Wicked pool tables during the afternoon if anyone is looking to play some pool and great nights out in the evening. Would reccomend to anyone who is looking for a night out in hitchin.

My mate got assaulted for no reason by a group of travelers. When we told the bouncers they said sorry we are understaffed and we should call the police... disgraceful if you are understaffed you shouldn't be open !!

Passed by only, would not enter a place like this, over priced and over rated.

Not bad bar food. Okay in the day. The door staff tried to start a fight. Steer clear on a Friday and Saturday night if you want to stay alive.

Pricey, but we regularly have an evening on the pool tables. Recently reclothed too.

We visited here as an impromptu afternoon due to the trains to London being disrupted, so glad we did had a fun afternoon playing pool and drinking fab cocktails, we weren’t expecting much from the cocktails but were pleasantly surprised, big shout out to Pam who looked after us, besides being rushed off her feet worked like a Trojan she kept her smile and was very helpful, will be returning soon as loved the place, it was a tad noisy with the footy when we arrived but hey it’s a sports bar! The guy that made us the lush cocktails high five to him! See you again!

Great food, good beer and pool tables... Had to travel 20 miles just to find somewhere with a pool table, sad state of affairs in this country but good to see somewhere still giving the fine game some justice!

I Was here for a work get together in May 19 and they accommodated all 40 of us very well, would definitely recommend.

Cool place.good for viewing sport

We went in for a few games of Pool, a few beers and a burger. Poll was good value at £6 per hour for the table, Beer was good and reasonably prices and food was more than acceptable. Big screens everywhere showing all different live sports. a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Good for a game of pool and the only "club"in Hitchin - better than nothing by a small margin.

Visited at the weekend to play a few games of pool. Good amount of tables for both American and English pool and some screens for matches. No snooker tables though. We got chatting to Kieran at the bar. He was really friendly and helpful. While we enjoyed our visit Kieran made it even better. We will be back again and to try the food next time.

Spent the afternoon with my 10 year old son playing pool the atmosphere was lovely and very family friendly and clean We ordered burgers and steak this was far the best steak I've had for a long time and great value for money with the home cut fries it was delicious The service was good and my son is looking forward going again and beating him mum at pool
