Booked a table here after seeing a post on Facebook last week advertising their new menu. Arrived at Oscars to the most depressing room, it was more like a holiday park restaurant, nothing like the photos on their website. We were shown to our table and given the menus, no lasagna despite them having it on the “new menu” on Facebook, and also no ravioli and no steak pie available that day. We drank our drinks (Pinot Grigio was like vinegar) and left to walk to the pub up the road. Total disappointment.

Took a party of 10 to lunch today. I had pre-booked a square table arrangement and that had not been forgotten and was all ready set up for us. Food was great and enjoyed by everyone. Served and attended by Gareth (aka Gaz) who could not have been more helpful and polite. He is an asset to Oscars.

Was a bit worried about booking Oscars cos of previous reviews. However the hotel offered an up-grade of £25 per head for a 2course dinner & we decided to opt for it on the 2nd June! Totally glad we did also we were informed by staff that it was for 3courses. For our starters we had mixed olives (nicest olives I’ve ever eaten) & sourdough flatbread with a cream cheese & garlic & an humous dip. For our main we opted for the pork loin with greens, duchess potatoes & a cranberry & apple jus with pearl onions. Oh my again gorgeous. For our desert hubby opted for ice-cream with a cold espresso coffee to pour over & I had the mixed ice-cream granita bowl. Again excellent. Honestly didn’t think we’d finish it all (usually only have a main). Our wine was a ‘zilla’ £19 for bottle never heard of it b4 but was very quaffable. So total we paid out on 2nd was for the wine as had pre-booked & paid for meal. Wish we’d also taken up the offer for breakfast deal via the hotel but I thought it was included in price when made booking through Booking.com

Mother’s Day lunch for three Mums with two children. The food was excellent with great food for the children too! A rare occasion for me, but I sent drinks to the kitchen staff! The service at the table was attentive, friendly and efficient by the two waitresses, Diane and Charlotte, who were also excellent with the children, even entertaining them with balloons!

Booked in for lunch yesterday, quite hungry so looking forward to a treat. Very disappointed with the meal. Veg consisted of 1 half of roasted carrot, 3 small roasted parsnips- which were the only tasty part on the plate. The turkey slices - middle part of slice was ok, but the outer was tough and difficult to cut -suspect it had been under heat too long. 4 small roast potatoes that where so overcooked I could only manage to break into one, found it 1was mostly the fatty outer crispy core and very little soft potato inside. I did try to taste it but they tasted off, as if they had been stored with a diseased or mouldy crop. The one tiny stem of broccoli had a similar off taste, and i had to apologise for spitting it into napkin it really was a bad taste, but at least on my plate I had broccoli, the other family member just had a piece stalk. One of us ordered beef, which was overly tough and the Yorkshire pudding which was meant to accompany the meal came out 10 minutes later on a saucer, with no apparent reason as to why it was presented on a cold plate half way into meal. All our food was cool, not even warm. Overall, we would have expected more vegetables with a Sunday lunch even if it arrived as a sharing bowl. Came home and had to make some sandwiches at as really hungry from being unable to eat the food presented. The staff did offer to bring out more veg, but we were half way through meal time by then and what quality would it have been? Very disappointed in the meal, won't be returning, as there are 2 local pubs who for a similar price provide a far better quality lunch, that fill you up. The front of house staff were apologetic, it just seems that what came out of the kitchen wasn't the standard that is described in the other reviews we had read online, that prompted us to visit for a special lunch.

Having been gifted an afternoon tea for two experience I opted to redeem the voucher at Rossett Hall. Sadly we left with most of our afternoon tea in a takeaway box as we felt just too embarassed having ate very little. Firstly, why would a venue serving afternoon tea choose to play quite loudly the Radio 2 lunch time chat show which today was about dogs and their owners. Surely some pleasant easy listening background music would have been more appropriate. Anyway, the afternoon tea was very basic, sandwiches were tastless and oddly the cheese used was waxy with no flavour whatsoever. The cakes were nothing special, a cream slice (cut in half) two large wedges of lemon cake and a kind of chocolate rice krispie slice. We expected better, a dissapointing birthday treat.

So so disappointed at the quality and experience I had on the weekend when my friend and I brought our Mums and my god daughter to afternoon tea for my Mums birthday. We have have many before in other places and thought we would go somewhere fancy for a nice treat, my friend called in advance to book and gave the requirements of 4 adults afternoon tea, 2 being vegetarians. And one children’s afternoon tea. On arrival when it was brought out, the stands were a mixture of all, ham & tuna sandwiches on both stands mixed with the cheese and egg mayos, but more meat/fish than not. So basically as a vegetarian we were expected to eat fish, or just 1 or 2 plain cheese or egg mayos as the majority were ham and tuna and obviously the other guests with us with no dietary restrictions would like to have a mix of all and not just be stuck with the meats! When we specifically gave the dietary requirements of 2 vegetarians, all that needed to be done was one stand veggie and one normal. Not only was this an issue, there was no garnish, pickle, sauces etc on the sandwiches, just plain as they come, crustless dry sandwiches. Unfortunately cutting the crusts off also gives a tell tail sign that the sandwiches had been sat since maybe the day prior due to the edges being stale. When we asked why we had no sauces or salads etc like the tables near us, and could we maybe have some cheese and salad sandwiches instead of just plain, we were told fresh would be made. They came out with plain cheese sandwiches and plain salad sandwiches. So again still not what we expected, and we had to just pick them apart and make our own up. In the end we left them, and moved onto the cakes. Safe to say we left the tasteless cakes and what was left of the hard scones after trying to cut it and struggling with how over baked it was. After making it clear we weren’t very happy with any of the experience but still keeping in a more than polite and friendly manner as we are not ones to ever complain or be rude, we were still made to pay the bill in full for the little we ate. I am shocked that a hotel which is advertised to such a high standard would have this level of service. Unfortunately after speaking to others since it’s not just ourselves who have had this bad experience, and really we should have known after we visited on a Saturday afternoon with 3 tables of guests there, that it wasn’t going to be what we expected. Disappointed isn’t the word, if this was our first afternoon tea we all agreed we would of never had one anywhere again after that. £14.95 for a coffee, half a dry cheese sandwich, egg mayo sandwich and bite of cake. Definitely do not recommend, palm court up the road is the best we have ever had so please save your money and go there if you’re wanting a lovely afternoon tea out!

Booked the sparkling afternoon tea for two. We were seated with enough space from the other tables which was great but the service unfortunately wasn’t. We asked what fillings would be included in the sandwiches to be told they were; Ham and Tomato, Tuna Mayo and Egg Mayo. My husband asked if we could change one of the fillings as he doesn’t like any of the above, to be quite rudely answered by the restaurant manager that the afternoon tea was pre-made and we were unable to change the sandwiches included. What happens if somebody has dietary requirements hey?? Then the waiter came to take our drinks order and I asked him if we could change a sandwich filling, he said he would ask chef and what would we like? We said can we swap the Ham and Tomato for cheese and tomato. When the food turned up we got a plate of cheese and tomato sandwiches (but no egg or tuna mayo) the food was simply dumped on the table by the restaurant manager and he quickly sped off. At this point we couldn’t be bothered to point out that I would have quite happily had the other flavours as the waiting staff were doing their best to avoid our table. The cakes on the afternoon tea were mediocre, the best bit was the scone. No offer was made to give us the 2 glasses of fizz included in the deal, and everything seemed like a hardship when we asked for a refill of tea so I didn’t bother even asking for the fizz. Disappointed, especially when we haven’t been able to get out much this year I was looking forward to a treat out at a place which was our wedding venue a few years previous.

Decided to treat ourselves for a Friday night meal. Plenty of space between the tables and it was quieter because we took an early sitting at 6pm. All of the food was very good but the Moroccan lamb meatballs were a particularly delicious starter. Served in a delicately spiced tomato sauce and with a freshly made pitta bread, which was light and not too doughy. All in all, a very enjoyable meal, nice atmosphere and a spacious setting.

My husband and I had dinner here with our four month old son on the first evening of our stay at Rossett Hall Hotel. When we booked our table at the reception, we were advised that the restaurant was almost fully booked. This didn't actually seem to be the case on the night itself. The menu is fairly small but with enough variety for everyone to find something to their liking. Although spell checking the menu before printing it might be a good idea. We ordered the Coq au Vin and Pork Belly. As well as two gins and lemonade. Both dishes were very generous in size and pretty tasty. However the food was a little salty for our personal taste. The pork belly was a little dry, whilst the skin was a bit to crisp to bite through.Service was very friendly and prompt. We were even given a choice of where to sit, which was much appreciated.COVID MEASURES: We visited this establishment during the pandemic. We were pleased to see all staff were wearing masks. Customers were nicely spaced out. More so even than at other restaurants.

Came here with a Travel zoo voucher i've been meaning to use for months but obviously unable to because of the Covid situation. It's was for a 2 course lunch with prosecco. Even though the voucher was originally for Mon-Sat (which id forgotten about) the staff happily let us use it for Sunday lunch. The food came in good time and was very nice. No complaints at all. Staff friendly too. We originally sat by one of the windows as it was a nice day and a view is always nice, but it was deceptively cold and s mall breeze so we decided to move to another table, which wasn't a problem. All in all a nice dining experience. I would come here again and love to try the afternoon tea at some point.

Enjoyed a beautiful prosecco afternoon tea here today to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. Beautiful hotel/restaurant, amazing food and great service. The afternoon tea consisted of a variety of sandwiches; chicken, cream cheese and cucumber, cheese and onion and beef. The cakes were a large piece of homemade bakewell tart (which was my favourite...amazing! ❤), Belgian chocolate tart, meringue topped with a raspberry and chocolate and a small glass of moouse topped with a raspberry coulis. Finally, a lovely scone accompanied by clotted cream and jam. The prosecco also went down very well, it was perfect. The gentleman serving us was very polite and friendly, and well we couldnt have asked for better service. He was very happy to provide a refill on our teapot and ensured we were happy around 15-20 mins into the tea. He was always available if needed. The restaurant itself was very clean with lovely decor and well laid out, tables were nicely spaced out, so although it was quieter for us (being a Monday afternoon) I can imagine it still feeling comfortable when busy. Also, I also pay attention to the toilets! After all you can tell a lot about a place by the toilets! Again, very clean, had everything available; plenty of toilet roll, stylish tissue box at the entrance, soap available in all dispensers and a perfectly working dryer! All cubicles were also spotless. Really couldnt fault the restaurant or the staff and will lost certainly be returning.

Three nights in Rossett (International Eisteddfod Llangollen) but had not listed Oscars during research. Failed to find Pant-yr-Ochain so settled for Oscars. Ordered spare ribs having confirmed it was a whole rack. Big mistake! Came as a pile of separated ribs bathed in sticky sauce. With ribs (mainly Beefeater?!) I expect the meat to fall off the bone. Not the case here. I might have persevered but the nice young waitress asked how we were doing just as I was moaning about the meat. So it went back. I then selected a veggie dish - a mixed mushroom pie which was tasty with nice crispy pastry but was quite wet inside that was a little off putting. Anyway not the best dinner of our five day road trip. A pity really because the restaurant itself looks lovely. A lesson there?

There were a lot of people having Sunday lunch but the were as many, if not more having afternoon tea, strange that I would have thought the priority was lunch time. We were served within 10 minutes, I chose the beef and my wife had the Turkey, all very tasty and hot. There was a mix up the puddings, my wife chose the chocolate sweet and I chose the cheese and crackers. Horror of horrors, I don't like any chocolate. When the waitress brought 2 chocolate desserts, I said it would be ok, and to my shame I enjoyed it, lesson learnt, not all chocolate desserts are the same. My wife and I booked Sunday Lunch here, on our way home from holiday. What a treat! Friendly service throughout, and lovely food - the main roast served piping hot, with pan gravy. When I say that the meal was "just like home cooking" - I mean home cooking at its very best. Let's put it this way, I'm not usually a great fan of chutney, nor of red cabbage. The chutney with the starter was excellent; the red cabbage complemented the other vegetables very well indeed, and didn't overpower them. We ate everything that was presented - flavoursome and enjoyable. An excellent meal, in pleasant surroundings, with friendly and helpful staff. My main course was rancid, it was obvious to me and my family sitting around the table. We visited this restaurant following a day out nearby to celebrate my father's birthday. We went there because it was serving food early in the evening and could cater for children. We ordered our food, I chose partridge. We waited around 45 minutes which was too long, but we'd had a great day and weren't overly concerned at this stage. That soon changed when the food finally arrived and the plate was pushed in front of me. The partridge had the unmistakable aroma of something that was clearly off. I called the waiter over and after smelling the food for himself he was very apologetic and offered me another main course free of charge, but the damage had been done.I wouldn't have served that meal to a dog. It was obviously rancid and inedible and I was astonished this wasn'tpicked up in the kitchen by the person who cooked it.I felt sorry for the young waiter because he was left to deal with a disappointed customer. I didn't take my frustrations out on him, but I was annoyed the restaurant manager didn't make an appearance to apologise in person for the woefully poor standard of my main course, but apparently the said manager was: "on a break".

We went as a family for a meal at Oscars on 25.11.16. We have been here may be 8 or 10 times over the last 15 years so are well placed to compare experiences. In the past we have had some really memorable meals here. As always the staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant is clean and tidy and it was particularly noticeable that the glasses and cutlery were spotless. We enjoyed a pleasant evening. My wife and son had the chicken supreme and burger which were fine and I ordered a steak but that was rather dry and had clearly been standing for some time before being brought to the table. This was disappointing and I felt I could have cooked it a lot better if I had been the chef! Overall however nothing to complain about really but nothing to particularly recommend either but it should be said that we enjoyed the evening so that's perhaps the best place to end the review.

Starter was ok - duck pate, but only 1 piece of toast and some lettuce came with it. Not at all appetising to look at. Duck as the main course was absolutely delicious - 5 of us chose it and we all enjoyed it. Why no bowl of vegetables? Just a couple of carrots hiding under the meat. Disappointed in choice of desserts, as I expected more exciting selection. Had a bowl of sorbets, one of which was lovely (purple colour) but the other 2 flavours were tasteless so I left them. Service was warm and welcoming when we arrived but they did not keep a close eye on us, and came to clear the starters before we'd even finished eating. Place was far from full even though it was Saturday night so no atmosphere. Perhaps we were unlucky but I left feeling disappointed.

This brasserie is attached to Rossett Hall Hotel where we stayed for a night while driving from Edinburgh to London. It is a big place, with friendly staff, and great food. We had the set menu - three courses including wine for £22 each. The food was tasty, portions were a normal size, and all in all a good way to end the day and relax for two tired travelers. I had pumpkin soup, then fish with samphire, spinach, new potatoes and lemon caper butter, then bread and butter pudding with caramel salted ice cream and creme anglaise, and a glass of merlot.

We went with friends for a meal here on Saturday night on the recommendation of some other friends. We will not be taking their recommendations again.Apparently the restaurant has been recently refurbished or so we were told. If that is so its been done on the cheap. The place lacks atmosphere not helped by the fact that on Saturday night apart from a large party there were only another two or three other tables occupied. The furniture looks cheap and is not very comfortable. The layout is poor. The menu was disappointing though in honesty the two steaks that were ordered were OK and cooked to order. The fish pie was mainly salmon and lots of mashed potato it came with a medley of mixed vegetables which consisted of menge tout and yet more potatoes this time boiled new potatoes. Serving the belly pork in a bowl instead of a plate didn't work. The real disaster was the creme brûlée amongst the worst we have ever tasted. The creme had been overheated and had scrambled, the brûlée was virtually non existent having not been caramelised properly and so the creme was mostly topped by non caramelised sugar. It was supposed to be flavoured with Bailly's but I think they just showed it the bottle. We complained and they did knock the creme brûlée off the bill. The wait on staff however did their best with what they had.We won't be going back. The impression I get is that the restaurant, set up as separate to the main hotel Rossett Hall, Hotel has been has been developed and is run by hoteliers and not by people who know how to set up and run restaurants.

we enjoyed a very different kind of meal, always like to try something new. fantastic. the staff were friendly and tentative to all. we spoke with some locals who said they preferred to drink there because it was cheaper than the pubs. we also enjoyed our breakfast there as we stayed the night in the hotel. we were surprised to see the same staff from the evening before serving breakfast.(they can't have had much sleep between their shifts)

We had an evening meal, on 2 nights, included in our 4 night stay booked through Superbreaks. Once would have been more than enough. We found the menu limited and overpriced. The mains we had were average. The pastry on the lemon tart was close to stale. The tart filling and accompanying raspberry sorbet were very nice. The toffee pudding was boiling hot - seemed, to us, like it was a frozen product which had been mic'd to within an inch of its life. The service on the first night was very poor. The mains order and serving was fine but we then waited & waited & waited for the plates to be cleared and for our coffee/dessert order to be taken. We had to ask someone from the bar to send someone over. The coffees were luke warm at best. Mum returned her cappuccino to the bar, where the were made, to be informed the temperature was due to the milk on top!! I think not. Another coffee was made. The service on our second visit was much better. The housekeeping needs some attention: light bulbs not working; different colour bulbs; wonky pictures. All little things which are easily remedied. There are a number of pubs in the village with better menus at better prices.

I was staying in the hotel and the brasserie/restaurant is next to it so I thought I give it a try. Nothing stands out to say a good word about it. Everything was bad. My water glass wherever I placed it on the table was sticking to it. I order a double beef burger and in my Surprise it was not double, but as I was explained they double the bacon for an extra cost of 3£. Needs major improvement.

Went here for somewhere different as we had an offer. Got seated at our table and the girl bought over a bottle of water as we looked through the menu. She returned to take our food order.. We ordered 3 for £10 tapas starters also an additional tapas dish. Along with our mains and side dishes. We found it very strange that she didn't take our drinks order at this point but did then return 5 minutes later to take our drinks order. Starters came fairly quickly and we noticed that one of our dishes was wrong as the chicken was plain and not salt and chilli pepper chicken as stated on the menu. We did not eat this dish. The waitress didn't return to do a 3 minute check and we could only tell her bout this once she came to clear the plates (we didn't eat this dish at all) she went to check with the chef but didn't come back to us until she had bought us our mains and at this point didn't mention anything regarding the chicken. Mains were standard, ordinary ingredients nothing to rave about. The thing I enjoyed was the puddings which I enjoyed. Overall the service was slow even though the place was empty. Our query wasn't dealt with and we still paid for an item that we didn't eat. Wouldn't rush back here.

Just come back from visiting Oscars for the first time. Ignored for 15 minutes when staff clearly knew we were there. After going over to the 3 members of staff talking I asked for drinks. The chilli had a vile looking skin on it, the fish sauce was non existent and dry, and all warm. No dressings for the salads, when asked was told they only had mayonnaise......Considering this is a hotel as well I would expect better quality food and MUCH better trained staff and service. Won't be returning with friends again.

Have given this an 'average' because our Sunday lunch starters and pudding were just that-ok. The main course was poor. All three of us had beef and it was tough and chewy, the vegetables were undercooked (not al dente but undercooked) particularly the broccoli which was almost raw. Coffee was fine. We felt sorry for the staff who are obviously insufficiently trained. The young lady was pleasant, doing her best and deserves praise for her attitude. Sadly the whole place shouts faded splendour.

Decided to visit for Sunday lunch after not visiting the restaurant for many years. On returning to the venue, it brought back many of the reasons why we stopped visiting on a regular basis. The service is hit and miss and clearly shows a lack of training. The young waiter was very pleasant, however walked around like a headless chicken and made very basic mistakes in his service, such as plonking the bottle of wine straight down on the table without even opening or asking us if we would like to taste. He kept leaving the menus on the table even after taking our order. I know this is basic but shows how the training needs improving. The worst thing was that the table was actually tacky and had obviously not been cleaned sufficiently. On watching the waiter clean tables, we noticed he only wiped half of each table and did not even move the condiments! The food was average and value for £14.95 for 3 courses but I would not rush back.

We regularly use Oscars being very local for us, we have eaten there on numerous occasions and have not had a bad meal at all, we have been as a family of ten also as a couple both for Sunday lunch and of an evening for the Al a carte menu, every meal has been tasty plentiful and hot with excellent service I can especially recommend the three course Sunday lunch for £12.50 it's great the roasters nice and crispy the veg cooked perfectly and the gravy is to die for just like homemade, the service by Paul and his team is perfect What more can you ask for.

Just returned from Sunday lunch, anything that could go wrong did, but that seemed to be the norm ! Food really disappointing, roast beef inedible, so tough and chewy. Service was hit and miss, but mostly miss. Only saving grace the one member of evening staff who managed to sort out our drinks bill, which seemed we'd paid for every bodies drinks. Thankfully that wasn't many people probably most people know to stay away. The back ground music was really weird too and too loud ! Best avoided if you want a decent enjoyable Sunday lunch. Shame !

Met friends at Oscars last evening 31st Jan 2015 whom we hadnt seen for 4 years, since we live in the Middle East. They live near Oswestry & had driven to Oscars to meet us.My wife & I were immediately by one of the two waitresses/barmaids as soon as we arrived and promptly given menus and obtained our drinks. Not the same when our friends arrived! After waiting for about 5 minutes, they had to go look for someone in order to obtain a drink and menus.(Poor service that is not acceptable).Starters consisted of vegetable soup, mushrooms stuffed with pate and a salmon salad. All one could say about them is that they were plain, nothing special about any of them.Main courses consisted of 2 sirloin steaks, one blue, the medium, and 2 lamb shoulder with kidney on a barley base.Steaks were both gristly and tough, & were accompanied with a bit of mushroom and a bit of tomato as well as chips but no other vegetable. The blue steak was rare-not blue as had been ordered !Lamb meals were very tender, but lacked any substance, and that was it! There was no vegetables,no chips .As a result we felt hungry after having ate our meat & half kidney and minimalistic barley base. This was certainly not good enough for two grown men !!As a result,we ordered sweets to try and eleviate the hunger pangs-something none of us usually eat.Puddings consisted of meagre apple tartlet with ice cream,a meagre chocolate souffle, and an ice cream.Again, nothing special about any of the three puddings apart from their minuteness.During the meal,no service was offered, and we had to eventually call one of the two waitresses over to take another order for drinks. My ladies informed the waitress that the steaks were gristly & tough & suggested the chef change his supplier !!After the meal we ordered three coffees and one tea.The coffees were fine, but the tea was insipid. We were surprised when we discovered that the waitress didnt know if they had decaffinated coffee !!Got the impression that the waitresses had not been properly trained,if at all !!The Brasserie was not busy for a Saturday night which we felt might tell a story, even though Oscars had come highly recommended by another friend. That is why we had chosen to eat there in the first place !! Certainly will not eat there again!!

We visited today as a family get together. We have been visiting Oscars for many years and the last time was over 4 years ago for a 60th birthday. Now we remember why we have not been for such a long time.We chose the £12.50, 3 course Sunday dinner. There were about 8 other diners and a larger party of about 18. There were 9 of us. The table was booked in advance, yet our table was not completely ready-lack of chairs. We had our order taken from us and it took 45 minutes to get our starter, mainly pate and toast and prawn cocktail. The starters were not complete as per the menu and we had to ask for them. Then a further half an hour for our main meal-which was luke warm. We then ordered our pudding, which took a further 30 minutes to arrive. In total our experience was 2 hours 45 minutes. Not at all happy. The staff didn't ask us how our meals were, which I think was a tactic in their part as we would have complained. The bigger table took priority over us. I would dread to think what the service would be like if the restaurant was full.Would not recommend to anyone and will not be visiting again.

We had read a wonderful review of Oscars Brasserie (with all that the name would conjure up in most people's minds we thought - atmospheric, intimate, small and cosy ambience) and with that in mind we booked for an evening meal for the two of us. The review we had read had specifically mentioned romantic meals.Know we knew that the restaurant was linked to the Rossett Hall hotel but really weren't expecting the place to be the hotel restaurant. As you can picture this equated to a large space with bright lights, non descrip furnishings and strangely for this time of year not one festive decoration. To put it short the place was really lacking in atmosphere and certainly not the romantic destination we were hoping for. The review we had seen actually said it was a stand alone restaurant but this isnt the case at all. Also it was also rather cool in the restaurant - which did however encourage us to cuddle up on the settee afterwards with coffee.HOWEVER the menu was a genuine joy. There wasn't a huge selection but it was seasonal and offered enough choice for both of us to deliberate between 2 choices in each course. We started with a smoked salmon and blini dish and confit duck salad ( the stand out of the starters with a full confit duck leg which was divine). For mains we went cod loin and giant couscous with me having slow cooked lamb shoulder with pearl barley - both were absolutely beautiful.Desserts were lemon tart and a rich chocolate marquise - I don't usually choose chocolate desserts but it was sublime.Drinks were swiftly served, service was great - attentive and never fawning with the right amount of conversation and time between courses. But what was most amazing was the value for money - the three course menu cost £16.95 per person and for me could have been double that and still worth every penny.Don't get me wrong we will definitely be going back for the food but not for the environment. So if you fancy a good meal in Rossett definitely go but do be aware it is a hotel restaurant and not a quirky brasserie that the name might belie. Also the outside area could do with a bit of a tidy up as there was a litter bin upturned at the entrance with cigarette butts right near the main entrance - not very attractive!!

called to have some food , the cafe was freezing cold , when i asked if they would put the heating on , i was rudely told iy had been on once that morning, the manager was rude , said it cost a lot of money for the electric, ( we are all in the same boat, i was the only person in the cafe , i would not recommend it to anyone , i did ask to talk to Grace who runs it , but was told she was away on holiday, and i did point out that is probably why the place was empty, it was like sittin in a fridge .

The drink and atmosphere wasn't too bad, and they accepted card payments which is good. Prices not unreasonable. Live sports. Negatives were the food.. It was very basic and comprised of your selection plus a pile of soggy chips which seemed like they had been re cooked. No sign of any veg whatsoever. I ordered a burger and it was literally burger plus chips. Not a place you should eat at imo. Also, potentially out of their control (but many bars do give free credits to "regulars" to get some tunes on) but a regular put on about 25 songs on the jukebox the moment it was turned on! So glad I clocked him doing that as I was going to stay and put on a few songs of my own. In the end we decided to leave earlier than planned and booted the tunes up on YouTube at home. Bit of a shame really.
