Ormonde Fields Bar & Restaurant in Amber Valley

Mother’s Day’s carvery was great. My mum and I had a good meal. Good selection of meats, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding. Three plate sizes. Staff are very friendly and with great service. Would definitely recommend.

Went here the last 2 - 3 Sundays for a carvery. A really good selection of vegetables and the meats were cooked excellent. .Complements to the chefs. Top marks. Can certainly recommend this place. We will be going again

Lovely Sunday Carvery. Good selection of vegetables and meat was lovely :) Only 2 of us had a dessert, good choice on that menu too!

Enjoyed a pre golf round snack here before playing the course. Golf course very interesting and in good condition considering the time of year. Staff friendly

Visited here today for Sunday Roast. It was excellent, loads of well cooked vegetables and meat and excellent service for drinks etc. You will not be disappointed if you try it. We also enjoyed Christmas Dinner here in a party of 18 and that too was excellent. Well done!

Went to the Sunday carvery 20/12/21.normly excellent but on this occasion I wasn't impressed.food was only just warm,beef over cooked burnt on the outside,mini sausage under cooked,roast potatoes under cooked. the lady cutting the meat was struggling to cut the meat. Standards have dropped with these new owners ,was a lot better under the previous owners.

As parents of any bride to be you only wish the best of everything for your daughter and her wedding day. The venue they chose was Ormonde fields bar and restaurant, a place we knew from many visits in the past . The entrance and outdoor setting provided opportunity for lots of photo's for the wedding party main photographer. The manager was present for the whole day and her staff eager to please, I'm sure as the host you feel nervous for all present but what we recieved was a calm and capable host were nothing was a problem. The food provided at both wedding breakfast and buffet was of a very high standard and plentiful. Our daughter also spent the night before and her first night as Mr & Mrs in the newly refurbished bridal suite which was spacious and comfortable. The venue is placed off of a main road with easy access and plenty of parking for golfers and all party people

I was recommend Ormonde for Sunday lunch so I booked in a couple of weeks ago and took the family. When we arrived we were shown to a table in a lovely refurbished restaurant, however them left for a number of minutes before returning to take a drinks order. I am aware currently due to COVID restrictions that service will always be slightly slower than normal. Drinks came after around 15mins and then we were shown to the carvery, which i have to say was fantastic. Once everybody had finished we waited 30mins for the tables to be cleared, i thought we would get asked if we would like to see the desert menu however the waitress who cleaned the table decided to sit at the bar with another 3 waitresses. we waited a further 10mins or so and still they didnt come over, so I had a walk over to the bar to ask about desert to be told " We only have cheesecake" this would have been fine for a number of people in the party. so we waited for the waitress to come and take the order. 25mins and she never moved so we decided to pay the bill and leave. It was such a shame because the food was fantastic but the service levels were very poor to say the least.

Been here for a carvery today, the food was perfect and served very well by the capable young man behind the counter. Social distancing was observed by all staff and customers. Without exception the staff were all polite and courteous and the whole place was spotless. Finished off having a coffee outside in lovely spacious surroundings. Well done everyone, we’ll be back next week!

Even though Coronavirus is battering the economy ormonde fields are delivering an excellent carvery on a Sunday ....you can choose what you want ..carrots/peas/parsnips etc ...still warm when it arrived and the gravy in a separate carton ..many thanks to Neil , Kellie and all the staff brilliant

An excellent meal, with a great selection. Served by very friendly & helpful staff Well worth a visit.... suggest you book as it can get very busy.

This is now our local for Sunday lunch..AMAZING food ...4 choices of meats ...plenty of veg ...and my favourite..red cabbage ...Kellie and all the staff can’t do enough for you ...and it all gets washed down with a pint of San Miguel or birra moretti ...fantastic 10/10 🌟

Word had it that this place is under new management so we thought we'd check it out. Predominantly a carvery set up, there were 4 meats to choose from & there was even a lovely piece of lamb on the carvery, which isn't something you see everyday! All of the meats were perfectly cooked and the chef was very generous when loading your plates. Then you get a choice of trimmings- mash, parsnips,roasties, carrots, peas, amazingly tasty red cabbage, gravy and sauces - all in abundance and as much as you want & all cooked to perfection. The restaurant has had a cool hip makeover in grey & white to give a really comfortable environment to enjoy your meal.There are some big tables as well to cater for large family gatherings if it's a celebration your after. And if you're not full after that little lot, there's a pudding menu too! I can't fault anything we had today, from the warm welcome, to the reasonably priced drinks at the bar, the delicious carvery & yummy pudding. This place is mad busy since word got out its under new Management so I would strongly suggest booking but I can guarantee it's worth it. Well done to the new team, you've cracked it! We will definitely be returning 👍
