They have a great menu and cater for vegetarians. Everything is freshly made and hasn’t been sat around all day kept warm. The portions are huge, it’s really is great value for money. Our families favourite chippy. :)

Have ordered online three times since re-opening. Ordering is easy, as is collection and always on time. Great service and fab fish and chips - can't fault it. Thank you Markus and team

I don’t know how they do it but their fish is just fantastic and always crispy .😘 chips are good for me they just need 5mins more.

We have been customers at this chip shop for years infact long before the current manager took over. Never once have we complained about the food even though there has been a small handful of times that we haven't ended up with exactly what we ordered. Being people who believe in treating people how you wish to be treated we have always been nothing but polite and friendly. Today we went to pick up food that we had ordered. My husband collected the food because of the current social distancing policies and we returned home. We had ordered the kebab meat and chips with 2 dips each one being a garlic mayo the other a bbq dip. Now we all know what dips are, they are things that come in little pots for you to dunk your chips etc in. We are always given the dip in little pots which is how it should be. Today however we had no pots of dip and on opening the kebab meat and chips found that they had tipped the mixture of both of the dips all over the food. It didn't look particularly pleasant anyway but the thoughts of bbq dip mingled with hints of garlic mayo all over our meat made us both admit we couldn't eat that. My husband decided to take it back, the first time in all the years of using this place that we have returned anything. To cut a long story short my husband a multi site manager himself with years of experience in customer service (and won awards for it) approached one of the staff and politely explained the problem. She asked him to hang on a minute while she spoke to somebody. After a while she came back and he was not happy. He argued with my husband for some time and could not grasp the simple concept that they had served the food up in a manner we couldn't have enjoyed because they had poured what were supposed to be dips all over the food which for starters rendered them no longer dips but sauces/dressings he needs to educate himself on advertising things correctly. The previous week we had the exact same order and the dips were as they should have been which is in separate pots to the food. The manager argued on and on at times bordering on serious aggression. His manner was often angry and at one point he had a rant saying customers had been returning food and it was costing him money???? That in itself was majorly unprofessional. The discussion lasted for some time and the manager continued to get angry despite my husband's calm manner, the poor staff looking decidedly uncomfortable watching their captain in action. In the end he reluctantly agreed to change the food but after giving my husband the new food he banned him from ordering online ever again and said in future he would have to come and queue with everyone else???? Seriously! Does this silly, rude man really believe he can have his cake and eat it? Only a fool would spend hard earned money again at the business of somebody who only feigns value to those customers who give glowing reviews to his business even when it falls short of expectation. I left a review on one of his web pages a few hours after the incident and was immediately trolled by a few people which was strange given the slow activity of his reviews etc normally. Surprise surprise the manager appeared too. It is amazing what people will do for a bag of free chips. If you use this chip shop please don't ever complain or leave a negative review or you might find

Huge portions made this very good value for money. Chicken Tikka wrap was large and full of chicken-great value. It does get busy but didnt wait too long. Was given extra fritter by owner on one occasion. Staff very friendly and efficient. Parking isnt too bad outside on the road or next door on the shop forecourt. Lovely food.

Called in for fish and chips 10 lots of people went in and out served after me whilst I waited for a large fish Was it worth the wait no it was greasy

This place made me check to be certain; that I cannot deny.I stood in front of a random member of the public and obstructed their progress down the pavement. He was irritated, I got what I needed; I am NOT invisible.Ergo, is there ANY excuse for four members of staff to totally ignore my existence? I was beckoned to a till to place an order but the magpie of a staff member evidently saw something shiny that was far more important.Stranded, ignored, invisible. Ten minutes; I gave up and left for Codnor (very nice it was too!)Reason for bringing it up now? I was ‘treated’ to a kebab this eve yet I had to pluck several yellow leaves of lettuce and battle through poorly cut edible salad - if food is going to be a challenge it should be enormous or stupidly spicy; not complicated to eat.Strip back from the overstaffed, inattentive front and concentrate on quality product.. in brief, sack the morons who consider their eyelashes more important than customers. Disgruntled is a fair summation.

I have becoming to leabrooks fish shop for a number of years, I did not appreciate being told off like a naughty child in front of customer's that the online system held part of my last order of scampi. We could all complain as I ordered the scampi for 5.45 and did not get it until 5.55 I did not complain. However, as the owner he did not have the right to speak to me or anybody or his employees that way. I had agood mind of walking out but my sister would have done, he would have not spoke too her like that, she would have told him what to do in froht of hus customers.

What lovely fish chips and peas. So pleased to have found this fish bar- our food was so tasty, absolutely delicious, and not too far for us to travel. My husband and I moved house 3 years ago and all the fish and chip shops local to us are not a patch of the quality and flavour of Leabrooks Fish Bar. Thank you

Had chips today absolutely awfull you can taste watever they are cooked in wont be going in future gravy awfulk chips full of greece not good at all seriously gone down hill

This place has literally kept us going while we have renovated our house for the last year. 2 month with no kitchen was quite a challenge. The quality and service is great and the owner and staff are lovely. Always clean and tidy and a regular queue shows how great it is.

I’m an Australian who lives and works in London, and who spends most weekends in Derbyshire. I’ve been coming to the Leabrooks Fish Bar at least twice a month for the past ten years, usually on a Friday evening, and I keep on coming back. And there’s just one word which sums up why I keep on coming back: consistency! Over the years it’s seen several refurbishments; it’s a tiny space, and it’s a take-out operation only, and I think the various refurbishments have been attempts to maximise space to be able to cater expediently for the crowds that flock here for their dinner! If you arrive in peak evening times, it’s a certain you’ll have to join the queue which often meanders out the door and onto the pavement (it’s chilly in winter, so rug up)!

Great fish and chips, and tasty curry sauce. I found it reasonably priced for the portion you get - a small chips is enough for one person.

I regularly use this chippy at Lea brooks as it is one of the best in the area. Consistently great chips and good portions. A great range of different foods all of which are very good. Recommended for sure

This chip shop is best in area and best I’ve been in a years n years always fresh kebabs are amazing and I would drive by this chippy or drive especially to it as it’s well worth it yes ok not the cheapest but the cheapest are the cheapest for a reason there rubbish this is simple quality chip shop

This is hands down the best chippy ever. Everything cooked fresh. Never had anything bad from here. The kebabs are fantastic exceeded only by the kebab special. Won’t go anywhere else.

Just collected Fish in a Box and Pie in a Box for Friday lunch with my lovely wife. My fish was really good with crispy batter and came in a box with chips and a carton of mushy peas, I added a small carton of curry sauce and devoured the meal, didn't waste a scrap. My wife, Sally had an All Steak Pukka Pie, which was full of big chunks of tender beaf and tasty gravy also in a box with chips and a carton of beans. She ate every scrap, which is unusual as the portions aren't small and she said that she "thoroughly enjoyed every month full". All for only £9.10, that's for the two of us. Excellent food and no washing up. Tremendous value for money. Thanks Markos and your team, see you again soon.

Just the job if you don't want to cook on an evening. We have been here a few times at tea time recently and never been disappointed, reasonably priced piping hot fresh food. The large doner kebab is a tasty big enough treat to share between two. Can't fault the place.

We normally go once a fortnight for evening takeaway here. Food is always quality sometimes busy at peak times but worth the wait

Have been to the chip shop quite a few times and always had great fish an chips but I've just sent my fella in to get fish an chips twice an a curry sauce it was over £16 which I was gob smack an so was he , so I think it will be a long time before we go again .

I won't go anywhere else, friendly and professional staff, lovely owner always happy to help and talk, puts a smile on your face, great food. Mmmm.

Great place for Fish and Chips, kebabs cut in front of you. It's the only place around you get great service and good food. If you haven't been, you should check it out, you won't be disappointed. Awesome value too.

Leabrooks fish and chip bar is the best chip shop for miles around! I travel 3 mile to this chippy cos the food is second to none, the chip shop is always clean well presented and the new refurb looks amazing, really kept up with the times not like the other old dinjey looking fishbars in the area, the staff are very friendly, smart, helpful, quick, and efficient. Marcus always greets you with a smile and plenty of banter, as for the food the kebabs are massive fresh and delicious! The fish and chips are always hot tasty and cooked to perfection, they also do a pensioners special which is an amazing idea, giving our elderly a tasty warm meal at a low cost price which they thoroughly deserve!! Keep up the amazing work Leabrooks team!!

Went to leabrooks fish bar as a new customer tonight lovely clean shop, fantastic service, staff helping choose best options for my large order to make cheaper. Best fish and chips we have ever had, also kebabs freshly cut tasted delicious, well recommended will definitely be making this our local

Leabrooks Fish BBC AR really is very good. Great staff and efficient service. Fish Special only £4.00 each, consists of lively cod, chips and a tub of mushy peas in a box. We always adopt a large curry sauce for an additional £1. So only £9.00 for the two of us, always hot and tasty and No washing up. Markos the proprietor is a real character and very hot on quality of his food and customer service. Wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

Fish and chips were average at best ,a bit in the expensive side( someone's got to pay for his constant refurbs)

My local chippy and one of the best. It has just been updated but this hasn't changed the excellent value and excellent produce.

What an insult to our national dish. Chewy chips and horrid greasy fish which lacked anything remotely resembling batter. Simply dreadful.

this is not our local chippy but its worth the trip. really great value mini fish with chips and peas - the fish isn't mini at all any more would be too much for me. The kebabs are really tasty too with plenty in them.

Not my usual place for fish and chips although live around the corner prefer the Crest of the Wave at Ripley - perfection everytime - but thought would give it a try never again though must say
