Went for a family meal here. The meat eaters were happy but the vegetarian dishes weren't the same as listed on the website...so slightly disappointing from that point of view. Staff were mostly helpful; some drinks took a while.

It's very seldom that one finds great persian food with polite and accommodating waitresses. I was pleasantly surprised with good tasty food, great service and well chosen jolly persian music ! I would certainly recommend it there to all persian restaurant lovers.

An Iranian friend recommended this place, we went twice since, once for brunch and the other time for dinner. Food is divine and a truly fabulous place. Great ambience and superb service from Esan who looked after us both times. We would definitely recommend this place.

As an Iranian, who goes to Persian restaurants at least once a week, I didn't have such a bad food in a very long time. The Barg Kebab smelled like fish and didn't taste like Barg at all. Also the shank for Baghali Polo was burnt. The salad Shirazi I believe was frozen down once and then defrosted. It felt like all the food was prepared the night before and just heated up again. If you want to get nice Persian food avoid this place. Will never go back again.

I visited Orkideh with my girlfriend and her parents for her father's birthday. Tucked away in northwest London, this restaurant was a real gem. The food was outstanding, especially the selection of starters. For those not familiar with Persian cuisine, Orkideh would definitely be the place to try. The service was also very good.

My daughter and I have been here a few times now., Each time we have been served very tasty and fresh meals. My daughter especially loves their chicken dishes which are healthy. The bread is divine and so is the salad with pomegranates and cucumber. Always friendly and never overly busy. They seem to do a lot of takeaway and delivery.

As a native Iranian must say the food is really really bad. Ordered Fesnjun, what was served was anything but Fesenjun!!!. Urge people who have not had Iranian food before not to try this restaurant for your first Iranian food! go somewhere else. Those who have had Iranian food before will know what I am talking about if they ever did eat at Orkideh. AVOID this restaurant like the plague.

I have read the other reviews before posting my own and I am very surprised. Of course I accept that everyone's experience is different. Our waitress Mehrnoush took our order very quickly as soon as we were ready to order. My first course was stuffed Persian meatballs which virtually melted in the mouth. The size of this course would have served as the main course. Delicious! My second course was skewers of char grilled lamb fillet and minced lamb, served with rice and salad. Another big portion and equally delicious. Didn't have any room left for dessert. The bill was £85 for 2 courses for 4 people including soft drinks and 12.5% service charge which I thought was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food and the location of the restaurant.A very pleasant dining experience with friendly and efficient service and I shall certainly be returning there.

Searched internet for a new iranian restaurant. Its true what they say stick to what you know. Majorly dissappointed in Orkideh, the service, food and general feel was well below the standard of iranian restaurants in London. Felt like everything took ages to arrive and the waiters were a bit all over the place, dropping glasses, forgetting to give us cutlery and charging us for food we hadnt ordered. Avoid at all costs, local kebaby is better!

Came here for Iranian New Year. You would think the busiest night of the year for them. Atmosphere was dry. Service was slow to make us stay longer and make the restaurant look full and to top that we found bits of plastic in our dessert (Faloudeh) which was also rock solid. Major health hazard aside I think a review of the restaurant is required. Not wasting my time there again and risking my health.

This was the first time I have been here. There was 7 of us and the food was very good and very reasonable. Everyone enjoyed the meal. I have been to many Persian restaurants and this is one of the better ones. There was a bit of problem with the parking as the barrier to the parking at the back would not open. Apart from this, a very enjoyable evening and I would eat here again for sure.

when trying to find the address i actually drove past it 2 times before i realised where it was. The Signage outside is not obvious and dont "jump out at you".On entering the decor was pleasant and relaxing. On inspection, the toilets were fantastically clean and lots of attention to detail which was nice to see. I belive that a clean and tidy rest room is a reflection on the general hygiene overall.I have never been to a persian restaurant before so i was excited by my experience.I ordered tiger prawns for starters and was very suprised when they served up 5 prawns on a plate which was 10x bigger than the prawns themselves. there was no salad or garnishing that came with it..Very dissapointing. The waitress who was persian and very polite and friendly reccomended Sulatni & Chenjeh. The chenjeh was tough and rubbery & Sultani was ok but didnt blow me away. Both were served with simple salad but the rice was lovelyI was expecting to be blown away with exotic cooking and exciting different flavours but the truth was that there was nothing unique about the food.Maybe i was expecting too much or maybe im being too critical? maybe this is how persian food is?....i dont know , it was my 1st time. i suppose subconciously i was comparing Orkideh to the number of turkish restaurants in edmonton which i regulary frequent hence my main order being of lamb, regretably the way lamb is cooked and prepared is very diffrernt and very much secondary at orkideh

Ten of us came here for a late lunch after a funeral at nearby Golders Green Crematorium. The staff were very accommodating, the food excellent and prices very reasonable. It was a delight to find such a place near at hand, open throughout the afternoon. Everyone enjoyed what they ate and was full of praise for the place.Their lager bears the unfortunate name of Kak, though it tasted fine.

Restaurants can be hit and miss affairs, but at Orkideh, my favourite 'local', both the food and the service are exemplary. Whilst restaurants can't please all their customers all of the time, Orkideh does go that extra mile...which is why I keep coming back (on my own and with friends) for more. You can see why they were recently featured as guests on Joanne Good's BBC London 94.9 two weeks' ago!Keep up the good work Orkideh...Ciao

I have been there twice. The food was acceptable, and the service was great. However the amount of compare to others was less. The other disadvantage was that they didn't charged us for service charge first time, but the next time they charged us 12.5% more for service.I liked the Kabab Torsh more than other foods.

Persian food is one of my favourite cuisines, but i have to say that this place didnt satisfy my taste buds as other persian restaurants have done previously. The service however was amazing, and i cant fault them on that. In regards to the food, we started off with a pomegranate salad which was really tangy. We couldnt finish it for that reason. The humus was nice, and the seseme seed bread they served with it was good. However, the mains were dull. Really disappointing. Usually we stay for dessert but since the starters and mains didnt deliver, we didnt hold much hope for dessert.

This is becoming my place to celebrate every time!! I am never disappointed , the food is always so delicious and actually tastes as good as when my Iranian father cooks for me. The meat is so tender and the rice is so light and fragrant. The Yoghurt drink is something extra special. In addition to all of this their waitress always makes us feel so welcome and never seems to forget a face. My favourite Persian restaurant ever!

The stars are the Italian manageress and the great food. Different tastes and homemade authentically Persian food including flat bread make this a very good restaurant. We really enjoyed the meal. In common with many places the red wine is served at room temperature which was circa 24% when the wine should be around 19%.

Just had a lovely evening in Orkideh (my third so far) and it's everything you'd want from a restaurant - food to die for made with fresh ingredients and lots of flair. Wonderful flavours, marvellous service and a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable evening. It will be my regular restaurant of choice for a long time to come.

I found this new Persian Restaurant on Finchley Rd which i am now totally in love with. Great food, and lovely service. I absolutly love the Koofteh Tabrizi and the amazing Chenjeh. The koofteh reminds me of my grandmothers koofteh back in Iran. So delicious....Oh And it was the first time where i tried a Persian saffron beer called Kakh. Tasted great. Orkideh is going to be my sunday night retreat.

Have eaten at Orkideh several times now since they opened and it has now, along with the little Italian Giacomo's in Child's Hill, become my second favourite 'local'. I now recommend it to everyone I meet, and all the people I know who've eaten there love it. While I'm a fully fledged vegetarian, I love the vibrancy of the salads and their stews (if you take the meat out, that is), the latter being, in my opinon, the most interesting things on the menu. Currently the menu is more limited than some other Persian restaurants, but that's largely because Orkideh insists on the freshness of their ingredients and because they haven't been open that long. However, I know that they are more than eager to take requests and will slowly start to expand their menu (fish and more veggie options, etc). They are situated directly opposite the local police station (next door to the popular Baran) and do take away and a delivery service too. They are also open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Even if you just pop in for a coffee or an unusually flavoured Persian beer, I urge you to try their homemade cinnamon or saffron ice cream. In fact, I would order both, glutton that I am.The lovely Florentine manageress is charming, as is the owner, and you will always be made to feel welcome.Naturally, Orkideh hasn't been around long enough for their to be a real buzz in the air, but it won't take long for that to happen - but don't let the secret out, otherwise I won't be able to get a table!! We visited this place for the first time on a Saturday lunchtime. We don’t have much experience in Persian food although I had a fair amount of Middle Eastern food when on business trips to the Gulf some years ago. On this occasion I can only say that the food was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. The place was neat and clean and the decor was vaguely Middle Eastern – pleasant environment if not particularly atmospheric. We were really impressed by the food. I had Koofteh Berenjii to start with followed by Chenjeh. For the first time in my life I was also introduced to Persian saffron beer. This is a new place. We will certainly be back.

Never disappoints, staff are 10/10 and the managers and owner take time to talk to the customers. The food is prepared insight and of the highest quality produce. Each element is seasoned and is a flavour sensation. The different sauces are flavour bombs in your mouth. It’s nutritious and wholesome. The restaurant is small but bright and light, the staff joke and smile, the food is prepared with love. Some of the best Middle Eastern food in London for sure. The menu is simple and concise but more than enough options, if your a meat eater you won’t miss meat as the vegetables salad and falafel all assembled as they are leave a feeling of completeness, you will leave feeling satisfied having had a journey of flavour and sensations that will leave anyone with a big smile on there face, especially knowing that the food is healthy and nutritious. I have visited most of the branches and had equally as good experiences at each. Thank you

Popped in for a quick bite to eat on the way home from rugby. Pretty bland and overpriced for what you get. Bread and meat dry. Salad fresh. Note that instead of getting meat and salad already in a pitta bread, a kebab here compromises a thicker (very dry) bread, salad in a container and a small amount of meat atop rice. Didn't notice any hygiene issues mentioned in other reviews and stomach was fine after. However, can't recommend and wouldn't return.
