They keep calling me a sag which means dog in my language and it was really rude of them

Staff were very friendly but we were 13 people and we ordered about five different dishes but unfortunately none of them was fresh.

Nice food, no to much spicy, no to much oil, and delicious food.

This restaurant has the best Afghan food I’ve ever had. I love their vegetarian options, they’re very diverse and tasty. I especially adore their aubergine dish that is delicious and fulfilling! Their bread is a different story!! I always make sure to take home some extra pieces of it for the second day’s breakfast! I’ve tried many Afghan bread in the area, but Baba Wali’s is the only one made with whole wheat, definitely healthier and more delicious 😋 my son loves their Kabli rice and meat balls! We’re lucky to have this great place in our neighborhood. I always make sure to go there with my friends whenever they’re visiting. Its high standard of food, pleasant service and generosity always impress my guests. Oh and their green tea with its special mix absolutely provides the warmth one needs in London!

Restaurant was very nice and clean. The Kabuli rice was nice but could do with more raisins to make it perfect. The meat was 10 out of 10. Very soft of the bone. Great meal! Prices are less than I thought! Would visit again.

First visit here with the family after many many years (used to be in a nearby location). Food was amazing, ordered kabli pilau and lamb tikka kebab. Probably the best I've had. Service was friendly and quick. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Would visit again and try their other dishes.

So far the best food I had in London cause it was soooo tasty and affordable. The Afghan rice with lamb was so tender and juicy, it made my tastebuds explode cause the flavour was unforgettable. Almost as if I had gone to an Afghan family dinner, because it tasted homemade unlike other many restaurants. Will definitely be returning.

The best kabuli polao I had in London

Warmly welcomed by friendly staff on a family dinner. Recommended Mix Grill by the staff member. We all enjoyed the majority of our food, lamb tikka was chewy and tough. The reason to give 4 stars is long wait for the food and lamb tikka.

Very rude staff, bad service. Basically i went with my family to have dinner we had seat for 10 mins until we ask the waiter to give us the menu. We wait 15 min for anyone to serve us and tell our order but no one come. Literally we were ignored. Also, group of ladies had come after us by 10 mins and they were well served straight away. The waiter was seeing us waiting and he never care. He just keep going and serving the table of the ladies. Then we leave the place. We will never go there again!

The food is delicious, we all enjoyed thoroughly but service could be improved, it was iftar time so I can partially understand this, but having to ask to take a drink order and not offering anything to people fasting bar dates has to be the tighest Afghan restaurant I have been to. Also no high chairs for children and no serving spoons to dish out the rice, attention to detail required for a better customer experience, I would recommend and return though

Kebab good but kabuli not that much as used to be

Ordered a kabuli pilau with lamb shank & a side dish. Complemntary to this came salad, soup & bread. Their portion sizes are very generous, yes they do take card also. Im surprised at how negative these reviews are but then again as humans we seem to place unreasonable expectations on restaurants. If your local to Baba wali you must come here x

The food wasn’t that good at all. Overrated. The kebab was literally REHEATED and that in a microwave. I don’t recommend the kebab to anyone. Think before you actually decide to eat there.

Be careful and beware!! This restaurant is dodge, they will bring the menue which is old prices but they will charge with very high new prices thats the way to trick and cheat , the food is just simple some cooked some not, for a small portion they will charge as extra large portion, so don't waste your money, there are more better restaurant with reasonable price available to eat.

I went today for iftar what I want it was finished (qaBili) the Manto and kabab was not very good with no test and so watery, we didn’t enjoy the food as it wasn’t good and it make us feel sick later plus it was so expensive. I don’t advice no one to go there and waste money for nothing but it’s was last time for me to go there . Very bad experience

Gone downhill. Had to reduce my rating from a few years ago. Went there today and food was average . Portions were not very generous for the money. No serving spoons in the platter. Poor hygiene from one staff member. Please do better.

Hi there, got takeaway from their today and I received the smallest portion ever. I paid around £60 and received a portion which wouldn’t fill a single person. I got about literslly 15 kebabs for £15. I got sauces for the kebab which was smaller than the dips you receive for pizza. Very very disappointed would give 0 stars if I could. You guys only take cash because of the tax but atleast give the correct amount that is being paid for

Fantastic food Amazing customer service

The portion of food is too small and the price is high. We were served with one fork and one spoon in our plates. When I asked if I can have a knife and fork, the waiter said they are eating with hands. Would not visit again anyway. Too expensive for nothing.

Visited last night for dinner.The food was excellent and so was the service. I had the kabuli palau with kebab and green tea which was awesome. The restaurant has a vey clean toilet and friendly staff would recommend 👌

Here is my HONEST account of my experience at this joke of a place. It I sound im lying, then please wait for the full video of it. The photos are stills from the video. So, went there today after my family home a surprise birthday. They took the cake there beforehand, arranged the price with the guy who was there later and all was set. Upon arrival, the tables were not reserved to the number we booked for. We had a boy, maximum of about 9 years old, trying his level best to serve us. Then there was the older teenager, rude as anything. We ordered 3 platters and about 10 drinks. We were missing plate, no cutlery. I had to go onto the other table and take plates and cutlery from there as we had asked about 5 times. There was no service during our entire meal. After we had finished, we asked them to bring the cake out. The little boy was trying to sort the cake out, but the older one took over. We had to go to the back and get the cake from them. We were given no plates, no spoons. We managed to ask the little boy to get some, but again he couldn't find any. My friend had to go to the back and get some spoons from a dirty box. Anyways when we were ready to leave, we asked for the bill. We waited an extra 30 mins when I asked the guy if we could have the bill otherwise we will assume its on the house. This older guy comes to the counter, dunno who he was and just told us it's £150. We asked him how it came up to this, as we had pre planned the food and drink, totted up to £135, he shrugged his shoulder and said its 150. My wife asked for the bill copy, he then made up a, figure and said the extra was for the cake and organising the cake?? Cake we bought from CAKEBOX, and the cake we had to bring it out the box etc, all they did was give 7 plates and a few spoons. Basically the is 2 parts to the problem. 1- They had a massive party next door which is a part of this restaurant. Their main focus was what's going on next door. I asked him for a jug of water, he tells me his jug BROKE. Basically they took them all next door. 2 - Please bear in mind, Racism doesn't just happen between white and black. Racism happens within cultures of same colour, and these guys are 100% racist. Any person from an Afgan background, they will greet them so lovingly, attend to them like they love them to bits. If your Indian or Bengali, they treat you like you're dirt. This is not a perception, fact. I used to get my haircut across the road when only a handful of Afghans came to the UK, now as most of them own the parade of shops in West Hendon Broadway, they think now they have some ultimate hierarchy. Any person non afgan who goes here will experience this and please report this on review. Unluckily for this guy, I filmed our whole meal, and unknowingly captured the whole conversation where they tried to rip us off. They disrespected my Wife, talking to her like she was stone idiot off the street. Im kinda leaning towards Afgan men do not like being questioned by a woman, that's why us men had to step in. No way was he getting away with that. I am a reputable vlogger and journalist and will ensure that others know about the type of service these guys are running. Video will be put with other rogue traders who purposely rip off innocent Customers. And CASH ONLY - tax man, where are you Bruv? I actually was really looking forward to their food, and to make this review all non biased negative, food was actually OK, but the service left a very nasty taste. A bunch of bullies and a bunch of Racists. Avoid. Whoever this Baba Wali is, Brother, fix yourself up. Get the Kids out of there and run the business yourself with staff.

Today I am really disappointed about the service of this restaurant the owner and the food is good but the guy who answered the phone really un professional and bad customer service I will not go to this restaurant again.

I never write reviews. But this was honestly one of the worst experiences I have EVER HAD! Me and the family ordered from UberEats with this restaurant. It arrived with missing items. I very kindly called them up and tell them and the owner or chef or whoever it was SHOUTING at me on the phone telling me I am a liar and that all the items arrived. They kept calling me a liar. I was so shocked and saddened. After a while I noticed that the plastic bag had a different address on it. I called them back and told them and they confirmed they had another delivery to that address and that the driver must of mixed up the orders. They said the driver cannot come back and told me to come collect the missing item and that they will give me some extra items on top. Although I had paid for delivery and a service charge on uber eats. I agreed to come because my children were hungry and I needed the item I had originally paid for. I drove all the way down. They gave me the bag and I went back home. I opened the bag at home and guess what. No extra items given. They lied. They made me drive all the way down even though I paid for delivery and they shouted at me on the phone. This is hands down the worst experience I have had and I still cannot believe their bad customer service and shouting at people on the phone. And if they say they were not shouting and calling me a liar then my partner recorded parts of the phone call so its all recorded. Then later on they confirmed that the driver mixed up the orders.

Always missing items. Didn't send drinks. When I called they refused to send replacement (apparently didn't have pepsi). When I said why didn't you send anything else the guy was being rude. Food used to be good but not any more. The quality has gone down and now they are sending orders missing items (4th time now with me).

Never ever try it, the food is like poison and it doesn't taste like Afghan food, even they want to charge you more than what you order. I went there driving long way at the end we got sore throat with food poisoning.

Delicious food, good price and massive portions.... What more do you want? We ordered and highly recommend the chelo kebab, kabuli pilau, chapli kebab and aubergine starter. We did visit on Sunday at non peak times thus there was no issue with the service. Will be definitely returning.

This place is better than other afghanis in area. Especially service. We ordered kabli pulao ( meat was not much and meat didn’t look fresh), we also ordered half chicken (chicken was dry) but taste was not bad. We got kofta daal with kabli pulao, but kofta was too small and few. We ordered only one coke but they put two on our table, i had to ask them to take second coke can back( they shouldn’t put things on table which customers dont ask. It is wrong.

Extremely disappointing. I asked the staff their recommendation for something that would be similar to an Indian lamb karahi, and they recommended the do piaza. It is nothing like karahi. They failed to explain that this is just onion (sliced, not diced) soaked in lamb fat, with bones to accompany it. Literally tasteless except for that of defrosted canned onion. It is full of bones and literally broken Rib bones. And this lamb has a tail cause that is all what was there. Onion and bones! I am going to talk to the restaurant and a request a refund. ================ This edition of the review is meant to respond to the restaurant comment on my review. The restaurant's response to my review is as bad as their food, I should say. You served a portion of onion, with bones. No meat was involved. The remanence of meat present was dried from being frozen for soo long that it hurt my gums. That's the reason for refund. The portion was a 'take away', and I can assure you it went to the rubbish bin right away. You sure know how to acquire customers!!! Karahi is like Balti, like Tajine, which is a pot in which the food is cooked/served. It does not designate what's inside it. The rest of your reply is so unworthy of a response. What a shame ;)

Worse thing ever! I placed an order on 13 May 2021 for below items: Tikka kebab with rice Ashak Banjan boorani There was multiple issues with each single item, very disappointing Despite quite a pricey menu, kebab only had 6-7 small pieces, rice was soggy and I am sure it was re-heated. We were told that Ashak has 10 pieces but it had 8 pieces , again some part cold some part warm suggesting mot likely a re-heated food. Banjan boorani was absolutely tasteless and far from what you expect. I called the Resturant trying to explain the issues but they simply told me F@&cj off!

Excellent quality food. Tried the chicken and lamb karahi. High quality and oh my god the Afghan naan has amazing taste, excellent. The ambience was very welcoming and bright with a touch of the Afghan culture. The food is of exceptional standard and the owner ensures the same. Last time I visited was served by this guy who was the previous owner and their service compared to change of staff now was below standard. The old owner was very cheeky with prices but since the new management have taken over I was delighted from the moment I stepped in. Definitely I am going to bring my friends and family to try this lovely Afghan food. Highly recommend it.

We came during the eat out help out scheme and we weren’t happy at all with the service and the food, What made it even worst at the end they charged us full price, they put it on their receipt half price but charged us full price The drinks and qabuli were full price, the point of the scheme is 50% off We felt scammed My family and I will not be returning.

Not happy with the service at all, with the eat out help out scheme they didn’t follow it and they only gave half price for the kebab not the qabuli and drinks. And they charged us extra. The staff weren’t friendly and i will never be coming to this restaurant again. It’s a shame that our afghans are being like this instead of following the law.

5 star Service, Food and Staff. Food is excellent & l mean excellent. Plus we received the £10 discount (x 4) more than happy to return & pay the full price. Best Afghan restaurant by far. Dined here with 3 friends, We all agreed food & drinks were outstanding, the service we received from the manager was very good too, taste buds still rolling around :) Thank you Baba Wali staff.

Great ambience, friendly and hygienic staff. I went there when it first opened and this time it was my second visit and all I can say that they have improved their service a lot. I would recommend trying the lamb karahi which I had and I loved it.

The food was delicious !! and the service was amazing, the staff were kind even though the restaurant was busy they tended to our needs. I went with my family and friends and family. I would 100% recommend everyone to take friends and family to this amazing Afghani restaurant. The service has also improved compared to before, way more organised and more quicker.

I visited this place a couple of weeks ago and took 3 close friends there during eat out scheme. It was our second visit. Service was extremely poor this time. Waiter didn’t serve drinks and meat quantity was half than what we had in our first visit. It was full of oil despite our request to put less oil. 2 full karahi couldn’t fullfill us four. Ordered chapli kebabs which they forgot to bring. They gave us cold naans and had to return them for warm ones. They seemed annoyed due to this. They just threw cutlery on our table without putting in plates with napkins. We initially thought waiter is new but he was serving well and nicely on next table. May be they were their friends or regular customers. When we complained they just had one answer that they are very busy. Although only 3 tables were occupied including ours. We all were very disappointed and never gonna visit again. If you are not their closed ones or friends please avoid.

Nice and friendly staff, delicious and well cooked.

I was in the queue outside for almost an hour and once I was allowed to enter, it took for them 10 min to provide the menu. After I got the menu, again it took almost 10-15 min to give the order. They just said "there is a party going on in their next facility. They have the priority and we'll serve you once they leave." They were just telling everyone in the queue in their mother language and told us only "will take some time"
