Oriental Palace in East Ayrshire

After years of custom, we’re never using oriental palace again I phoned for delivery and woman didn’t give approx delivery time which she should have done. Turns out she’s also the delivery driver. Phoned again one hour later to be told by her they hadn't even started cooking it yet and driving conditions were bad. We’re a 2 min drive away and it wasn’t blowing a tornado, just very windy. Other restaurants were delivering to our street OK. Did I want to cancel? They obviously don’t have to worry about making money. I said no as I figured I’d waited that long, I might as well wait a bit more. After 40 minutes I was courteous enough to call to let them know I wanted to cancel (I’d phoned Happy Panda who cooked and delivered within 20 mins and WERE £7 CHEAPER!), The same woman answered and she was shockingly rude and condescending. Her unprofessional, couldn’t care less attitude (weather excuse repeatedly given) was totally unacceptable and will cost this restaurant business. New owners should take note as there are plenty of other places available. We’ll be using the Happy Panda in future as great service and very friendly.

I have been a customer for this Chinese takeaway for over 40 years. Different owners now just taking cash no cards strangely enough. I ordered Hong Kong style chicken and fried rice. Tasted really horrible, My order was ready were quickly, I am sure I was served old food unfresh reheated. I think think this restaurant should be closed now as my experience was just so unpleasant .

We’ve been using this take away twice a month for years….no more. Asked them to waive the £10 min debit card as only one meal was required but they refused. Clearly my money isn’t that important to them so I’ll go elsewhere. What a shame.

Resonable food but horrific attitude. Really rude, dismissive attitude when speaking, and refused to let a 10 year old use the toilet while waiting for what is fairly bog standard food from an empty establishment

Disappointed. Previously have had no problems with Oriental Palace but this evening was unacceptable!! Ordered food at 18.30 for delivery. Delivery time was supposed to be between 50-60 minutes but we were told our order won’t be delivered till 19.50. No order arrived but we got a text update that informed us the new estimated delivery time would be 20.35! At 20.40 we called oriental palace to complain and was told our order was just COOKING?!?! We’ve waited almost 3 hours for our food and they would only refund our delivery charge.

I have had hit and miss with this restaurant, but I have always loved my regular orders. It's when I try a new dish, I'm dissatisfied. Love this restaurant. Special Chow Fan, amazing. Spare ribs with or without sauce...great portion and tasty. Maybe I'm stuck in my ways, can't beat it. Friendly delivery too. The staff must have to put up with alot of complainers, and I have been one, it can't be easy for them. The food is gorgeous, one bad meal, and I rant. Sorry Oriental palace, as I keep coming back.

Food is nothing special, staff are pleasant but the surroundings are dreadful not nice to sit in. Could be much better and definitely needs refurbished.

Went here for the first time in a while and meal was the the same standard as always good size portions and well priced was told it had changed hands but this was not the case same owner and staff who said it was just kitchen staff changed due to some returning home and holidays which was why it was shut .

Not a good experience. Noodles were greasy and lacked flavour and chicken satay was inedible. Most of it went in bin.

It somewhat pains me to see my favourite Chinese takeaway in Stewarton on the decline. At the end of last year the previous owners passed on their legacy and remained over the handover period presumably to maintain the high standards. Unfortunately it has gone downhill with the food being bland. A crying shame but hopefully they will improve.

This is a nice takeaway. Two meals in less than a week, both extremely tasty. Served quick, priced reasonable, what's not to like. Watching mum berating junior as to where the mushrooms were on the touchscreen was just an added bonus :) Recommended highly.

Don't know why we went here for a meal after the very rude manner in which I was spoken to the last time I ordered a home delivery, the staff/proprietors were rude the food was well below average quality and I got the impression all they want is your money. Safe to say we WON'T be back.

This is not the best looking restaurant but that should not put you off. We had a very good meal. My duck was really nice and was served with excellent noodles. The vegetable spring rolls were as they should be. Everyone seemed happy with their meals. This was our second visit. I'll go for a third.

Food good to take away. Restraunt lacks ambience, decor has not been updated in over 20 years, would not recommend it for dining out.

My mum had just parked up outside when a car behind us stopped, flashed and beeped his horn. We moved up one, turns out it was one of the delivery drivers that wanted our space; closest to the door! What cheek. Disappointed in a restaurant we've been going to forever. On the positive side the food was better than I've had from there in a long time. Generous with the cashew nuts on my kung po chicken, good balance on the black bean beef. Quality of meat seemed alright but think they've been kept warm for hours before we got them, very chewy texture for both.
