Absolutely disgusting. Won't be ordering again. "SINGAPORE KING PRAWN" was plain boiled prawnd in fried rice with no sauce. Was vile.

This is by far the best Chinese takeaway in kilmarnock the food is fabulous I cant fault anything I've ever order from hear

Not a very tidy appealing looking place but we ordered regardless. We had all in the one tray rice chips and curry sauce after being at bingo for the evening so were ravenous and couldnt be bothered cooking once back home and thought a take away would be a wee treat. How wrong we were! What a disappointment. Slightly burnt smelling and tasting, soggy reheated stale chips and a tiny scant amount of curry sauce on the chips only. Should have eaten in the bingo! Will not be back!

Food was mostly great, hot and tasty. Chicken balls were good, noodles were yum, chips and rice were okay. The few spring rills and prawn crackers were nice. However, crispy shredded beef was NOT crispy AT ALL :( and it took a long time to deliver. Would definitely give them another go as we really enjoyed the meal.

Absolutely disgusting veg was uncooked , crispy beef seemed to be all batter no beef , chips were re heated garbage and curry sauce was like a packet mix

Food still not hear 1h 30mins after ordering

We wanted a small basic dinner so both ordered a simple chips fried rice a curry sauce and salt and chilli wings . 1.5 hours later food arrives , however upon opening there was literally a spoonful of curry sauce it’s the dryest meal I’ve ever eaten no need for so little sauce !! And zero of that sauce was on the rice , this is the second chance I have given this place and totally let down again , not to mention the sauce that was there was bland zero taste or effort made !!! The wings again dry dry dry and the batter on the wings was like crispy hard cardboard . I remember when this first opened !!! What a mess now avoid !!!!

Been using canton chef for a few years now and can honestly say I have had only one or two bad meal. Friendly helpful staff and great service, we normally collect and our food is always ready in 15-25 minutes. Good tasty food and almost always good. No complaints and our go to for Chinese food

Restaurant called me just to be sure they were getting my order correct. Woman was lovely to speak with. The food itself was excellent. I asked for my curry to be extra hot and spicy and they delivered! Gave us free salt and chilli chicken wings as well! Really good service and tasty food! Definitely recommended

Ordered the same meal we always get from this restaurant and a completely different thing was delivered. Normally a lovely sweet red sauce with chicken and peppers and what arrived was a black gravy with bean sprouts and something that slightly resembled chicken/pork. Complained wrong item was delivered and we were told recipes can vary but I find it hard to believe something can be sweet and red every other time it’s delivered then change to black burnt gravy. Won’t be back, was inedible.

didn't mind the food being early, great service

Phoned after it being late 10 minutes to get told it was waiting to be delivered, then waited another 50 mins. It arrived cold, the paper bags the chips were in had disinterested, by the time it arrived full house was starving. Obviously had a driver problem I can accept that but don't send out the same food that's been sitting for who knows how long.

Delivery time was good, unfortunately the food was horrible. Special fried rice - meat was tasteless but edible. The rice cant have been anywhere close to fresh. Never ever again. Optimistically priced.

Been a while ordering from canton chef. Glad I did enjoyed the chow mein and the salt n chilli chips, although pancake roll was a bit cold. Still are it though.

Would rate the food if it was anywhere near on time. Due between 7:45 and 8:05. 8:45 and a notification that its out for delivery later and it’s still not here. Used to be a favourite, and could overlook the lateness before hand but for a simple order to be waiting 2 hours from order and still have no food in front of you is a disgrace

The chips let it down or 5 stars. The chips were like chewing on cardboard. Very dry

First time trying. Been trying about locally to see where I can get the best Chinese Curry. I love my curry extra spicy, I put it in my nktes for this and Canton Chef delivered emphatically! My mouth is on fire but not too much to a point where I'm uncomfortable and can't finish it. The salt and chilli chips were lovely, even the fried rice was lovely. Really enjoyed that tonight and will order again for sure! Nice little touch to also give out free spring rolls, never expected that!

First time trying here & was not be the last. Fresh, hot food & ribs were big and plentiful and the beef in black bean was delicious. Definitely will be back again!

Firstly the meal was late and I had to call the resteraunt to find out where it was. The order was also wrong, I asked for boiled rice with the sweet and sour chicken and I got fried rice instead. The chicken fried rice wasn't the best. It was edible but I've had a lot better from other outlets in Kilmarnock. Sadly, I don't think that I will order from here again.

Beef was the chewiest stringiest beef I've had in a long time. Shame coz it was nice the last time my friend ordered from here

Tasty food and reasonably priced, my go to Chinese when we’re visiting family in the area, salt and chilli chicken wings are class!

Generally good. Good service, friendly delivery driver. However couldn’t even eat garlic and honey chicken wings. The heat with the amount of sauce saturated the chicken wings leaving them with no crispy batter to pick up. So soggy and inedible. The shredded chicken with the large tub of sauce was nice however. Thank you

Satay didn’t taste anything like satay sauce, tasted more like a fish sauce with butter. Shame, as the delivery was faster than was originally stated.

Order was 45 minutes late. Sauces were gloopy they were that cold satay was freezing and slimey char sui fried rice bone dry and frozen aswell as the chips and had to be reheated for my daughter to eat it as she was hungry. Really not happy. Have requested a refund as tbh. I don't fancy wasting another hour + for a delivery when my kids are starving. Unacceptable. 34 quid down the drain.

Worst Chinese had in a while .chips rice cold chicken satay sauce like water never order again .waited 2 hours. Waste of money and time

Good size portions. Food quality was about eatable at best, bland/tasteless. Example - The special fried rice basically wasn't fried at all - the rice MIGHT have seen a wok but doubtful and with no egg or veg, the meats/shrimp were completely unfried, uncoloured, unseasoned and mostly dumped in a pile on top of rice, it was clearly all frozen precooked stuff that was likely defrosted and microwaved to heat up judging by the look of it. Quick delivery, 10-15mins earlier than earliest estimated time although strangely it wasnt very warm and the early delivery caused problems due to restaurant not marking it as dispatched and on way until much later, well after we had finished with it. Dissapointing overall, dont think would try again unless it was different dishes and it was discounted or something and it's not like that's gonna happen is it

It is a shame that this company can’t sort out their delivery times as the food is very nice. This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered and it’s the same pattern yet again. This will be my last order sadly.

2 hours wait for delivery. Also told it would be 20 mins when we phoned but wasn’t delivered until an hour later.

From estimated time of delivery until it actually arrived was an hour and a half! Phoned restaurant and told it was on its way....Still took another 40 mins to get here!

Sweet and sour / sweet chilli sauces with shredded chicken or beef was far too sweet and drowned in sauce. Noodle meals and appetisers and drier serves all good.

Last time sirloin teak was perfect to what I requested (medium rare) This time I asked for medium rare but it was very well done and had a lot more fat and gristle than expected.

Wait times are far too long. Ordered through their own app which is cheaper than Just Eat. It asked what time we wanted food for and we said 5pm. Food arrived at 7.30 and order was incomplete. Person on other end of the phone not very helpful about situation. Food good but not going there again. Shame as its been our first choice for years but it's slowly gone downhill service wise and has become too expensive.

Waited an hour and a half for delivery and had to phone and ask how much longer it would be when food eventually arrived tub of curry sauce had burst open over everything and food was soggy and greasy …… was meant to be salt and chilli but no taste of that whatsoever …….
