I am regular customer which l he. Konws i placed my order online but one. Care 2 3 4 i ignore.. they keep 💯 ignoring. All. I am saying. When u placed an order. U don't get it. Honestly once or twice Honestly then ur for granted as great customer 🙃 then. U don't get what u want.... go. I always ♥️ placed my order for extra space. Order once... no no no no no spares. All

It was my first time ordered Chinese from oriental house last night, first of all thank you for the great customer service from the front of house. She gave comfortable, clear and polite manner to us. Ordered an crispy chilli beef come in large potion, can’t finished for two and the chicken satay mains is authentic. reasonable price and highly recommended Chinese take away in Colchester!!!

I did use them on the regular until they tried to bump me off. Tried called after many missed ordered for a refund just to get an aggressive person on the line. No refund. Cold food Don’t bother

Just moved into the area & ordered this for the 1st time for delivery - AMAZING chinese!! Really fresh, hot food delivered quickly! Highly recommend the chicken chow mein, chilli beef & beef with mushrooms! Will definitely be ordering again :)

Used before no problem always great. Cold food tonight, quick on delivery, probably due to not being cooked. Rude customer service and they pretended the boss was there when he wasn’t! Won’t be using again! Must be new staff.

Good experience of this chinese takeaway so far, the food tasty! Their curry is the lovely one here👍🏻 You can also ask the staff for any other option/ the spice level that you like

Ordered takeaway for the first time from this place arrived nice and hot friendly driver,food was well cooked fresh ingredients portion size was very good enjoyed it and was the best for a long while will order again.

Have been using Oriental House for over 20 years, have never had a bad meal. Food is always hot, and delivery always quick. Wouldn't order from anywhere else.

An excellent selection of dishes beautifully and freshly cooked.

Reason it has 1 star is because you can't give half a star complete SLOP!!! save your money and you're stomach lining....absolutely dreading the morning drop off if I make it till then,this place is a breading ground for ecolie if ever I've seen it,bloody de-icer would be kinder to you're insides.....heed my warning ⚠️

The meal I ordered was hot when it arrived but they forgot my prawn crackers. Other wise, very good with good portions.

Am a regular customer paid for meal for 1 home delivery I once had cold food but that was rectified. I usaully love this set meal. But tonight it was disgusting the worst meal I have ever tasted from Oriental house. I called to express this and was advised that the boss will be advised when he gets back and that maybe I can have a 10% discount with my next order. No thank you if that's how you treat your regulars. As I was writing this I received a call back to say I can have a fresh meal for free? It's not free I've paid. Plus is nearly midnight Have now been put off from eatting. If I was eatting at a restaurant I would have insisted on a full refund. But hey because I got it delivered I have no rights. For meal and delivery £14.70 as I say usaully no worries usaully lovely food. We'll sadly. They say they have a non refund policy that doesn't sound right to me. Let's hope I don't get tummy issues. Very let down tonight. Won't be ordering again and hence they in past been made aware I was an adult with special needs. I feel sad.

First time ordering last night, lovely food. Pancake rolls, sweet sour chicken balls, stir fry veg, chicken curry ....... all excellent quality you can tell they use good quality ingredients and don't scrimp on them

I ordered a takeaway tonight which arrived after an hour (a Tuesday, so presumably not a particularly busy night). It was truly awful. Congealed horrendously salty ‘sauce’, dry chicken, flat empty spring rolls with ‘goo’ inside. Real rubbish. I called to request refund as the food is only fit for the bin and was spoken to rudely ‘you have the food darling, do what you like’ Wtf?? A much nicer woman (the owner I suspect) called me and apologised but still did not agree to refund, but asked lots of questions and asked for photos of the food. It was suggested the food just ‘wasn’t to my taste’ as if maybe I’ve never eaten sweet and sour chicken before… Overpriced (£34 for 4 dishes - 2 completely inedible- and flat hard spring rolls) and a delivery charge. Lousy. Avoid…

Singapore rice noodles are my favourite, and this guys are the fastest and the nicest I've tried. 😁

I ordered sweet and sour prawns. Small prawns covered in lots of partially cooked batter. (Lots of batter). It was so awful I had to throw it away. They are charging for delivery charge even for a sizeable spend for one person who lives very local to the restaurant. Total waste of money.

The food is outstanding, and the guy that has just served us at this hour was extremely kind, with generous portions and outstanding flavour. The two of us will be back many more times when travelling down. If you are in Colchester a must try.

The chicken balls were still too hot to eat, what more can jou ask! The delivery driver was great and the food was amazing. My favourite Chinese in colchester.

Food tastes amazing! Customer service was great, delivery was cheap and the food came piping hot. Set menu portions was good portion size and good value. Feel bad that I didn't tip the driver, he was very nice and I'll be sure to do so on my next order.

This is my favorite and the only place where I order Chinese takeaway food. Although this is the first time that I didn't get free prawn crackers and it made me really sad, I would still order from this place because their food is lovely. ❤

Great Chinese Takeaway. We have ordered from here twice, and both times the food has been very nice, delivered extremely quick, and was nice and hot, cooked perfectly. Had a slight miscommunication with our order and I didnt notice when I had the order read back to me, but when I called the restaurant they sent out the mistaken item instantly, so great customer service even though the mistake was partially mine, will definitely order from here again.

Always great. Always hot. Yeah they charge 1 pound delivery .. no big deal tbh. Takes a while as they are always busy but we are happy to wait!

I always order sweet and sour chicken balls. They are actually chicken strips! They are amazing!!!. perfect crispy batter. I get them to take away and they are always hot when I get home. Enough for 2. Good size portion of the sauce. don't need to order an extra one.

if you want to fill like your back in the school canteen this is the place for you, food poor chewy meats, overall dirty feel of the place. i will never go back

Ive used this Chinese for many years, i was completely happy up until today. They seem to have done away with the free delivery and now charge and for that reason i will never be using them again.

Not a great take away, food was average at best. Much better places to go to rather than here. I would not recommend.

Haven't used this takeaway for a few years, so thought we would give it a try again - what a mistake. Sweet and sour King Prawns in batter, these were small prawns in thick uncooked batter. Chicken satay, chicken texture was weird to say the less, satay sauce had no flavour whatsoever and looked like water with some colouring in. Beef with mushrooms, beef was thick and too tough to chew, once again sauce looked like water and tasted of nothing. We both tried a couple of spoonfuls of each, then threw the whole lot of it in the bin. Cheaper and tastier to eat cotton wool. Keep away from this place!

Fui a una comida para llevar a las 11:00 pm la otra noche, tenía el menú fijo un buen arroz, fideos, pollo, buena en pasta también bueno.Pollo en salsa de alubias con nueces de anacardo era amarillo comestible, el pollo de la onu era horrible y tenía que ser tirado después de 1 bocado. Fue squidgy y suaves, y debería ser carne de mucha mejor calidad, rollo pancake era muy grasienta. Sé ordenar tarde en la noche no es acertado, pero aún debe ser una gran comida fresca de calidad independientemente de la hora.Por desgracia no volveremos.

We have used Oriental house for 20 years we placed an order this evening to a guy who I guess is new as I haven't spoken to him before, one item on our order was wrong when delivered so I called to complain and he said we repeated the order to you so it is not our problem and the rest of the food was discusting certainly not up to their normal standard not sure what's gone wrong here maybe change of managements very disappointed

Pedimos una llevar esta noche - me dijeron 45 / 55 minutos, lo cual está bien para un viernes. Nos llevó 1 hora y 30 minutos. Cuando llegó la comida estaba fría y la mayoría estaba tirado en la papelera. Tengo que decir que hay un montón de sitios en Colchester pero no será con este nuevo

No excesivamente complicado. Sencillo y agradable con comida China estándar. Te encanta la sal y pimienta y las tostadas de gambas langostinos con sésamo. Además de los patos. La entrega es inmediata y siempre con un alcohol de cortesía durante el moro de gambas galletas...

En general muy agradable - entrega gratuita que es fabuloso y el tipo de entrega fue muy agradable aunque él costó encontrar nuestra nueva construcción como el código postal no existe en su navegador! Huevo frito arroz y dulce y agria pollo en pasta estaban deliciosos! ! Pollo chow mien también era bueno pero no demasiado generoso en la cantidad de pollo.

Oriental House was my local Chinese takeaway for about 4.5 years when I lived in Colchester - I looked at any other place very sceptically and with good reason! This takeaway did not disappoint me once - never messed up an order or delivered late! Absolutely wonderful takeaway food for a great price, and I still haven't found a decent alternative to Oriental House here in London

This is my go to Chinese takeout, I always order the same thing and it is always delicious. My favourite thing about going to Oriental House is the lovely delivery man, I don't think I have met anyone else as pleasant as him.

I have been ordering from this takeaway for over 15 years! Its the best in colchester by far!! Shame they dont have the eat in restaurant anymore but they do deliveries. Good quality, good price and always good quality. Most importantly the food is always piping hot when it arrives.

This used to be my regular but the last three have been extremely greasy and poor quality. I'm now going to boycott this one and search out another one. It's a shame but I can only imagine they have different chefs now. I would try a different one if you were considering this one as you will feel quite ill after eating from here. There are plenty of others to choose from. I have mentioned it to the staff and after an apology and me giving them an opportunity to redeem themselves I thought it would improve. However it's still awful.

Lots of food delivered fresh and tasty. Would recommend number 3. There is always more than enough to go around and the delivery is usually fairly fast and friendly. Never had anything missing and often get 'extras' like drinks and crackers.

Food good but not very polite. I am visiting a few takeaway restaurants at the moment on a quest to find good honest food that tastes good. I have had a few from here and not been disappointed with the food at all. Worth a visit.

This is the only negative review I've ever left on here.On saturday night we odered a £60 Chinese treat for the family from Oriental House Chinese in Colchester. It took a 45 mins to arrive which is good for a saturday night. They forgot my curry sauce, (we were regulars and always order 2 set meal a's, one with curry instead of sweet and sour, got 2 sweet and sours) so I called to let them know. I got put on hold for 5 minutes and the girl then basically informed me that we were lying about one curry sauce stating 'well, I took the order and there was no curry sauce'. I was in the room when my husband ordered, there was! At the time i was so furious i hung up. Nice cold Chinese minus my fictitious curry sauce. Not only does the receptionist have the ability to remember every item on a £60 order for over 45 minutes she treated like criminals. I've never felt so hated in my life!Sorry would never go back, if this is how they treat customers on the phone I dread to think what else goes on.

Certainly one of the best Chinese Take Away I have tried in the Colchester area.Very quick on delivery - very good on portions - very good on quality - very good on price.For Chinese take away look no further.£20 was plenty to feed 2 of us with plenty to spare.Very friendly phone manner - what else is the, but to enjoy.
