Orient Chinese Restaurant in Bradford

My regular chinese takeaway was closed and I found the orient. Its a little gem tucked away. The lady who took my order was absolutely lovely and food was ready in minutes and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely returning again soon x

So disappointed, I used to rate this takeaway but the Thai Red Curry I just had was disgusting. It consisted of chicken and courgette only, in a sauce (not red curry). One 3 mains ordered, the other were not particularly nice but I didn’t have them, I just helped bin them.

After The Orient being recommended by every man and their dog, I decided to try it for myself but boy, that's the last time I trust somebody else's recommendations. I have genuinely never been more disappointed regarding food in my whole life. Me and my partner ordered food Saturday night as a treat after a long week, but were displeasingly surprised at the simple lack of taste the whole order had, along with the meat being purely gristle. After two minutes of eating, we decided to throw the lot in the bin and eat elsewhere. Binning the food was the most pleasant part of The Orient. The lady who took our order was extremely nice and lovely to speak to, as well as the delivery driver. Cant fault them for their staff.

Just had a takeaway from here and it was delicious. So nice to have fresh veg in the meals. It was the best Chinese I've in 20 years. Definitely restaurant standards.

Staying in an Airbnb, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice takeaway. Googled and decided on the Orient Chinese Restaurant. A REALLY nice lady answered, and the delivery driver was amazing. He rang to say he was here, food hot delicious and HIGHLY recommend. If in the area we will DEFINITELY use this Restaurant again!! Many thanks to all!!

Absolutely disgusting all reheated food wouldn’t ever recommend to anyone. Price for what you get is so bad

Just had a very good meal from Orient. Delivered on time by a friendly young man. All our three starters and mains were very tasty, good sized portions. Excellent value and can’t wait for next time. Highly recommended!!

Avoid at all costs. The salt and pepper ‘chicken’ is definitely something more sinister

First time ordering food from here and I will be returning. The delivery arrived on time and was nice and hot. A friendly smile when the food was handed over too! The Cantonese style sweet & sour chicken was beautiful and cooked well. The portion of chips was really good and I cannot fault the vegetable spring rolls

It's a take away only and they didn't not mention this anywhere. It's disappointing to go there for dinning and finding just takeaway

Bought a takeaway from Orient this evening, I was well impressed, fresh ingredients, not smathered in oil, tasted gorgeous, nothing undercooked or overcooked and presented really well for a takeaway meal, they also altered the meal to our taste which was received exactly as we asked. Me and my partner fully agree we shall be sticking with Orient for Chinese take away from now on, and we will be back to eat in the restaurant as we have before and were impressed then as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food from this place, and I have since returned for more. Great menu with a vast array of dishes to choose from. All the dishes tasted to date have been delicious. This is definitely my new local Chinese takeaway.

I've enjoyed every meal from this restaurant. I've tried various dishes with no complaints at all from any dish. I would recommend this establishment.

Very poor takeaway last night sat Full of salt small portion size beef in black bean sauce was disgusting and overall was very poor get a grip orient it used to be so lovely wont be returning anytime soon .

Never been to a restaurant and paid £9 for 3 portions of frozen chips before! ridiculously expensive for mediocre food IMO. Used to be my favourite local restaurant for birthday treats etc, noticed the takeaway service had gone downhill some months ago, we now use our closest take away provider, which has far better quality food. We will not be returning after being charged £115 for 4 diners + a child's meal at £8. For what I again considered a mediocre meal. Next time we want a Chinese meal in keighley we will stick to the local takeaway.

I've used to go to this restaurant 2 years ago, then I went vegan and I thought there are no vegan options for me, but I gave it a try after 2 years. It's an amazing place for vegans too! The Asian woman helped me out to find the right things for me, she cared about contamination, so she told me which food are fried in the same oil as meat, etc.. anyway the soup definitely wasn't for me, but the Singapore rice vermicelli and the mushrooms and black bean vermicelli (in the menu I think are egg noodles, but she was so kind to ask the chef and made it with rice vermicelli which are vegan, so basically they veganized it) were like a DREAM! It would be even better if they give more options for vegans like spring rolls and seaweed (which I love), so maybe fry them in separate oil would be a solution. By the way the service more than excellent, staff very helpful and kind. My favourite Chinese restaurant! Can't recommend more!

When we went last week the greeting was very warm. Able to take time over choosing what to order. Helpful when unsure as to what the dishes were. Presentation was excellent, food delicious and plentiful. Just had a takeaway. Excellent.

Fantastic atmosphere, exceptional food, excellent customer service

Not for me😞 The Restaurant is cold (I had to put my coat back on whilst eating) and uninspiring. Plenty of oil type lanterns scattered around, but none were lit or being used. The food is expensive and the portions do not reflect value for money. I had chicken chow mein, it arrived tasting so salty, and the chicken was an odd and sickly looking pale beige with a slimy texture. Inedible, and when I complained, the comment from management was that no one else had complained! It has a licenced bar, but again, very expensive and stingy measures where the soft drinks are concerned. I shall not be going back any time soon and fail to see why the Orient is as popular as it appears to be.

Found this thanks to a Google suggestion and its high rating. I totally understand why it get the praise it does and I will definitely be dining out here again. The food was fresh and beautifully presented and tested absolutely amazing.

OK if you want your starter and main at the same time because they want to close early !!!!

First order from here (to take away) and it didn’t disappoint. Food was piping hot and ready so quickly (10 mins from ordering)! Large portions and full of flavour. Can’t wait to order again.

First time I have tried it here, good service and the chicken curry was nice with a bit of a kick but not to hot. As I am quite fussy with takeaways I would definitely eat here again. My boyfriends chips was OK, some of them didn't taste cooked, but apart from that very nice.

Nothing was good about our (20 minutes late delivery) meal. Beef Penang was inauthentic and doused in a tasteless gravy. (It's supposed to be a dry dish) Everything else we ordered was smothered in a sweet and sour sauce even though we did not order any sweet and sour dishes. Chips were greasy and soggy, clearly cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough. The food was good previously, but we will not be ordering here again.

Told to pick up for collection at 7:45. Had to wait over an hour in the restaurant for delivery.

Excellent food every time. Over the years we have had many meals and takeaways and have always been extremely happy with the quality of customer service and delicious food. I have yet to find a better Chinese Restaurant anywhere else in this country. Salt and Pepper chicken wings are a signature dish, and the aromatic duck is awesome.

Friendly staff and decent food. The reason I didn't rate it 5 star is because I was slightly disappointed with my food. I had a duck in spicy Szechuan sauce and the meat was good but the sauce was sweet and wasn't really spicy. Thai spicy salad was hot though.

Great food beautifully cooked. One of the few places I have had perfectly cooked seafood all round, even the squid. Although it is best to get it off the sizzler plate fairly quickly. The crab claws were delicious, it was all lovely. Will be back in the new year.

Great food, great service all in a pleasant and relaxing dining room. It is reasonably priced plus there is a special menu which offers 4 courses for just under £13.00! Will definitely visit again :)
