Popped in today for lunch on a whim what a great place to eat food was amazing and the service was outstanding will defo be back

Tried some dim sum, slow roasted pork belly, and thai curry, everything super tasty and delicious. Also tried a couple of desserts which had more muted or subtle flavor profiles, which didn't really stack up what came before. My mind keeps going back to that curry. Overall great meal.

I loved everything! The service, food, drinks, the space itself. They helped us through our food selection and where clear on what we ordered. No ask was too much!

Excellent food. Extremely nice service, just one point down as it was just too crowded, I.e. tables too close to each other. But it’s a perfect restaurant for good food. Paid about £100 for two but it was worth every penny. Not only fresh but excellent meat, good vegetables and incredibly good desert (mousse, pannacotta ). Not only quality of food was good but also the way it was presented. Had dim sum as a starter, rice and chilli beef as well as desert. And the mocktails were also very tasty and well done. Will go again for sure and can recommend 100%

Every time I come to Glasgow visiting my sister we come here for dinner. Food is very delicious, especially the dim sum. This time I tried as main the monk fish cooked in the claypot and it was very good! Fish was very tender. I recommend to take also the ribs with plum sauce, it’s so good! The service is good, they always pay attention to take away empty dishes and pass by to refill water.

This is a hidden, tranquil spot amongst the Glasgow city centre chaos. Lovely Chinese food, albeit on the expensive side. Excellent selection of cocktails, beer and wine. The food was served almost immediately after ordering which made it feel slightly like a fast food service as opposed to relaxed dining.

Really lovely food and quick service. Would defo go back and try more starters. Had three courses but didn't feel bloated or too full. Was just the perfect amount. Staff were lovely.

This place is a hidden gem. Wow, food is incredible. We’ve been twice in last few months and I can’t wait to go back. The staff are extremely attentive and the food is out of this world. It might not look much from the outside but inside, this place is amazing. Would recommend to anyone visiting Glasgow as right in city centre!

Mmmmm…. I am on the fence here. Every restaurant looks to make money and maximise covers… I understand this. However- 10 minutes to sit following a booking.. a 15 minute wait for drink orders followed by a further 10 minutes on food orders whilst seeing the staff run around mad didn’t present the feeling of quality.. but rather quantity. The food was good but didn’t hit the spot if I’m honest.. the Thai red curry was fresh but very (very) sweet. The spring rolls and gyozas were cooked well but not full of flavour. I just feel that elevated spark was missing. I appreciate we attended on a busy night and there was nothing off with the food as such, I just wasn’t impressed enough to return…

Kate loved the vegetarian options and the clay pot aubergine was melt in the mouth. Staff were really attentive. I highly recommend the soft shell crab which had a warm heat to them that left my lips tingling. Perfect spot for a lovely meal.

Yes, we were recommended to this restaurant as being a top Chinese in Glasgow, and whilst it was a pleasant experience, it would not rate as one of our more enjoyable nights out. The food was mainly good, though one of our dishes had to be returned for undercooked chicken. They dealt with it very well, but disappointing. The rest was good-ish but not great. The atmosphere and service were very good, and the restaurant is well positioned opposite the great little bar, the Pot Still on Hope Street, where we went afterwards!

Great selection of dim sum and mains. Managed to share a variety of these and they were delicious. The Kung Po wantons were a favourite, as well as the prawn Har Gow. Service was great. They were very attentive and helpful.

This is one of the best Asian meals I've ever had. The plum ribs were an absolute standout - the best I've ever had! Can also recommend their twist on a Pina colada. Can highly recommend this place, especially their dim sum options.

Come in with my partner and as vegetarian always problem choosing so the waitress was very helpful food was 5 star and service also very good attention to detail notices even smalles details and was helpful over all will go back again without a doubt

Fantastic meal. Great vegan options. Super flavours. We chose Opium to celebrate our anniversary and couldn’t have made a better choice. Best meal we’ve had in Glasgow. The staff were lovely and we felt it was very good value. We’ll definitely be back.

Had a really nice meal here. Extensive vegetarian options which is great. Had the aubergine clay pot and it was amazing. Staff are super lovely and the place has a really nice cozy vibe.

The food and service was absolutely fantastic! Waitresses were incredibly attentive and the ambience was lovely. Although food is a tad pricey, it was definitely worth it for the food and amazing service.

Absolutely great food! No complaints whatsoever, and great portion sizes. Service was quick, including for drinks. Probably one of the best French Martinis I've ever had! Nice atmosphere too.

I was excited to try Opium for a fancy meal after seeing the menu and reviews but left disappointed and ripped off. Unfortunately I don't get the hype. It must be that the specific meal I chose was a miss. All I could taste was salt and my broccoli side was very watery. I've honestly had more flavourful Chinese takeaways. Also, I felt rushed by the servers who were prowling around our table to snatch our plates the second we were done.

Fantastic food! I would go as far as to say one of my favourite restaurants. The lunch and pre-theatre menus are great value and delicious. Love the option of dim sum.

After a disappointing start to our summer gastronomic tour we headed to Glasgow with vague plan to find an Indian restaurant and replan our week. Not being cycling fans we had not clocked that Glasgow had been shut down for cycling events and our train to Glasgow was reminiscent of the London rush hour underground system. Having survived we stumbled on an old favourite “Opium” not Indian but we gave it a go. It was fabulous! The staff the ambience, food and drink were just superb. Delighted, when a couple with three screaming children came in, that when they asked if there was a children’s menus they were advised no! Peace restored we had a leisurely excellent meal, fair price and great service- thoroughly recommend!

Really delicious Thai red chicken curry. Place to be.

The Malaysian Spicy tiger prawn was authentic. Siew mai better than crab and chives. Spring rolls were yummy. Spicy soup was not spicy and authentic enough for Asian palate but my Scottish friend loved it. Spicy tofu.. excellent. Generous with sauces n don't charge extra for chili oil. Will definitely return to check out other dishes.

Love this place. Cannot fault it, the food is so delicious and fresh. Staff are lovely. Cocktails are also delicious. We have never had a bad experience here. One of the best restaurants in Glasgow.

I'd been to Opium a long time ago and enjoyed my visit so thought it was time to visit again and wasn't disappointed. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. It was an early evening booking so we were the first people in but the restaurant soon filled up and within less than 30 minutes the place was nearly full. Friendly, polite staff. Attentive service. Lovely surroundings and the food was excellent with a good selection on the menu. There was a large table of about 14 in so did get a little nosiey but thats more of an observation than a criticism. Could do with online booking as my email booking wasn't replied to. With that said would definitly visit again.

Exceptional. Food was outstanding and service to match. We had dumplings, Thai Chilli beef and pork belly. All dishes were superb. Best meal I have had in a long time. Service and staff excellent. Will now be my go to in Glasgow for Chinese.

What a great restaurant. Went with three co-workers on a Trip Advisor recommendation and was not disappointed. Food was delicious!! We all ordered different items and across the board loved them. had seared panang seabream with a side of fried rice which was outstanding. Will definitely be back.

Not the best experience ribs had very little meat on the bones relative to the cost.

Wow! Tolles Erlebnis in Glasgow. Die Dim Sum sind super lecker und das Curry war der Hammer. Die Drinks sind auch sehr empfehlenswert.

Beautiful food and great service

Been before but visiting with my son. We chose won ton, gyoza, Aberdeen Angus massaman curry, noodles and pak Choi. Fabulous food , full of flavour, succulent proteins. The choc mousse and pana cotta was a perfect end. Just wonderful. The service was brilliant, I believe it to be a family restaurant and each person was attentive and water glasses were never empty.

Delicious, authentic Asian Fusion. Excellent service and good value. Be sure to try the Prawn Crackers, Satay Sauce with anything at all, Gyoza (steamed), the Chilli Salt and Pepper Ribs, and stay with me here, the Broccoli with Oyster Sauce - Oh my Lord, it's SO GOOD! You must go, because this is the sort of wee gem of a place that should always be busy and returned to for years and years.

Have tried to go here in the past but it's always well booked in advance with good reason. Everything was excellent, food, drinks, service.

What a find!? Heard talk of here so tried it out. Gorgeous food and well made cocktails. Reasonable prices despite proximity to central Glasgow. I like that chopsticks are offered before fork/knife. More authentic! Will be back.

There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said on other reviews, this place is an absolute must if you are visiting the city and want to enjoy some of the best Asian fusion food available. Don't miss out and try the soft shell crab which was a standout for me. 1 small critical point is the rice and noodle portions are a bit stingy! All in all a great experience if you are enjoying a night out in Glasgow.

Amazing Asian fusion food with fabulous veggie/vegan offerings. Light, crisp, differentiated flavours with some of the best deep fried tofu I've ever had. Non alcoholic Heineken and tasty £5 mocktails as well. A small place that was packed all night so book. Excellent service with water constantly topped up: most responsible.

Food was very nice and service was excellent. Dropped a star as I thought the ambiance and decor could have been nicer. However if you want a decent priced Chinese in Glasgow this is a really good choice.

Food was absolutely delicious. We had a party of 4 and we all got something different and we all couldn't stop saying it was delicious it was. Definitely recommend.

The food was very good, but the plates are quite small, so make sure you get some rice on the side or a starter.

Food was geared for western tastes so what is advertised as Hot only has a few seconds kick to it before dissipating. Prices are similar to other places so don't expect much change from 35 pounds a head without any alcohol for a starter and main meal with a side of rice or veg.

I've been to Opium twice and it's the best place to eat in Glasgow, in my opinion. Everything is delicious — but the salt and chilli ribs are unreal. Service is slow but good.

Amazing food and even better price. Looking at about £30-40 per person (1 dim sum, main and side + drink) really great atmosphere. Would recommend booking in advance as it fills quickly

We came for my son's birthday and food was amazing. This is easily the best Asian restaurant in Glasgow. Service was spot on. Nothing to complain about.

The food was very good,but overpriced. Portions are not very big compared to other places, which sells dim sum. Staff friendly and efficient. It's not a big variety on menu. Will be back,I enjoyed the dining experience.

A rip off, nothing fusion about the food!!! Menus not updated so dont be suprised as we were. Upscaled setting but its not worth it.

Oh dear. What happened? Food used to be extremely high quality, unique flavours and composition, with attentive service and well-made cocktails. This time (December 2022), it was a disgrace. Food felt reheated, badly flavoured (one dish had what looked like Heinz salad sauce), generally bland and cocktails were off the mark, service was very slow, had to look for them in the kitchen. Paid 120, felt like it should have been 40 for this quality. Not coming again.

This was the second year having our office Christmas Lunch at Opium and yet again Trevor and his team came up trumps. We left the menu choice to Trevor and we were served the most amazing banquet and that coupled with the unobtrusive excellent front...

Visited several times and have not had a bad meal here yet ! Food is amazing - you must try the Salt and Chilli Tofu , lots of options including vegan. Highly recommended .

Food and service very good, definitely recommend. Admittedly a personal preference but restaurant was very noisy so not ideal if you want to talk, but otherwise great choice for Asian fusion cuisine.

Family run. Delicious dim sum: we had the steamed ones, followed by excellent main courses. Menu makes it clear the amount of chilli in the food. Restaurant a bit bare in terms of decor.

Amazing. One of my favorite places in Glasgow. The vegan options are delicious. The butternut starter, the mapo tofu and especially the sanbei tofu. I'm hard to impress and this place impressed me.

I had made a table reservation for 3 people on Thursday 10th November at 12 noon for a friends get together lunch. We arrived at 1202 but couldn’t get in as the doors were locked, we waited until 1210, still locked. We left and went...

Mandarin mojito was lovely, Shanghai gyoza and Crab and Chive were immaculate. Servers were polite and attentive. We were advised to order a portion of rice each however 2 between 3 would have been more than enough. Overall though highly recommend.

The stuff food dreams are made of! Dim sum second to none, beautiful array of mushrooms, wonderful flavours and textures and absolutely superb waiting staff. The skill and care of the chefs truly shines through the food! Vegan options are gorgeous. Worth every rosette.
