Good quality, beautifully cooked, well presented food and good portion sizes. Reasonably priced wine list, draught and bottled beer, cloth napkins, sparklingly clean glasses and cutlery. Very clean toilets.This high standard restaurant deserves to be popular. I'm looking forward to going again for the tasting menu in a few weeks time.What could be done differently? Everything was very good but plates for hot food could do with being hotter.

Excellent quality & great value. Lovely food & generous portion sizes. Reasonably affordable wines. V clean. V distanced tables. V nice ambiance. Would go frequently.

Loved it here went with family(adults) it was great food was very good we all had different meals and all enjoyed it. The service was friendly and attentive but not “pushy” a lovely relaxing evening. The outside doesn’t give this place justice.

What a lovely place! Didn't even realise it opened for lunch, but now they have put a big sign in the window advertising their lunch deal, we couldn't miss it!I had bruschetta followed by the salmon, my friend had goats cheese and also the salmon - both courses were delicious! The salmon came with asparagus, broccoli & mash and it was cooked to perfection! The lunch deal also comes with a glass of wine - we had house white and that too was superb.The waiter was extremely friendly and welcoming... I am looking forward to dining here again!(The toilets were very nice too... a very important factor in my humble opinion!!)

We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening, we were unable to get booked in the previous Friday. When we arrived we sat at the bar and chatted with the manager, who was serving as well. The bar area looks very comfy and there is a dividing wall between the bar and seating area. We were walked our table, the restaurant is very modern and clean, all the tables and chairs are white, the plates that the food was served on were very modern, the manager asked if we wanted the music on to which we said yes. The food was wonderful, I would expect this high standard up London, so to get this level of food in a restaurant Romford is great. We were given a bottle is tap water straight away in a bottle to keep on the table. We were the only diners in the restaurant which seems a shame as it is a great place to eat and drink. We will definitely be going back.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding reception at the Opera’s Restaurant. We was amazed at how great the Owner dealt with all our enquiries and how quickly he was to help us organize everything. As anyone that knows how stressfull is to get marry he tooked all the stress relating to the reception preparations and deliver it for us so we didn’t have to miss out time with our families or have to worry about any final details. I’m so thank to Mario and his team for helping us to to have a dream wedding reception we couldn’t be more happier with everything from the food that was excellent to the decor. We absolutely loved everything!!! We are looking forward to celebrate more parties at your venue as it is lovely decorated and the food is stunning. Thank you very much for all the hard work including having a Spanish, English and Italian speaking waiter that was the cherry on the cake!!! Thanks from Jay and Mel

We visited Opera Restaurant for a Sunday evening meal, the food is freshly prepared with amazing flavours !I thought I didn’t like goats cheese but it was recommended as to me as a starter, obviously the owner saw the fear in my eyes and said if you don’t like it we will change it ! The dish was truly amazing, a lesson learned to trust the owner !The service was brilliant and a relaxed atmosphere All of the dishes we had were well presented and full of flavour Truly great value for money and we will definitely be returning to try more dishes from the menu ! Leave room for a dessert as they are excellent

We had lunch at the Opera on Sunday 29 April 2018. The service and food was first class. The food was so fresh and cooked to a very high standard. We have been to first class restaurants in London and would like to say that this is a first class restaurant. We will definitely be going again.

I booked a table for 10 and received confirmation. I telephoned to double check as know it is a new restaurant and they immediately told me it's not possible. I asked why they did not ensure their website is up to date because if it is confirming reservations that do not exist that is a problem for people. I was told sorry. Good job I did not turn up with my party of 10 on the night as we would have gone hungry. Not impressive, will go elsewhere in the future. Needless to say we never actually went to the restaurant.

Went for an early evening dinner at 17.30 on a Saturday and were surprised to find the place empty. In fact nobody else arrived throughout our meal though it appears that several other bookings had been cancelled at the last minute There was however a large party celebrating in a private room upstairs.The restaurant is bright, modern and well laid out with proper table linen and chandeliers.Good menu, good food and a nice wine list.Charming and helpful service from the waitress.

A friend booked a table for her birthday so we had a girlie dinner the other evening. She negotiated a glass of procecco each for us as it was her 40th. Very kind and a nice touch.Lovely decoration and all very clean and with lovely linen and very shiny cutlery. Mood lighting and makes a change to have somewhere nicer in Romford.Waitress was great, she was very friendly and efficient but left us in peace but was there if we needed her without having to look for her so a great balance and she knows what she is doing service wise.We all enjoyed our meals and I thought the quality and taste was lovely. Waitress asked if there was any feedback for the chef as he had asked which is lovely to hear as he wanted to make sure we were happy.The menu is pretty extensive with a great choice. I would say that there could be a few more simple starters.Desserts: perhaps only 4 desserts is a bit slim as I was struggling to choose as they were not my favorites but the Pana Cotta was tasty but I find it a boring dessert. Addition of a cheesecake and something chocolate related is needed in my opinion as I do like a dessert to be sweet and satisfying and basically if you are going to eat a dessert and eat something 'naughty' then make it worthwhile!We were shown the function room upstairs which is really pretty with all the lights on and worth remembering and a nice room for all kinds of events.I wish them well as it is what Romford needs and wants. Something a bit smarter finally!Would I go back? Yep!

Restaurant was always empty and we wondered why - we now know. Bruschetta with Stilton was french bread with cream cheese and chunks of stilton and king prawns in a light garlic sauce was 4 king prawns which had had the head removed, which was then used as decoration on the plate, the prawns was so overcooked and the light garlic sauce was slices of uncooked garlic. We never got as far as main course as we complained, paid for our drinks and left - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE, IT WAS MORE THAN AWFUL!!Do not even deserve 1 star

My Mum & I had lunch today for the first time for a change from our usuals. We were extremely surprised at the lovely decor, the cleanliness & service. The restaurant couldn't have been decorated any better. The toilet's are on ground level, which should be a must in all restaurants. The food was exceptional. I cannot remember a better meal in this country & abroad for a very long time. Our waitress Ebony was extremely efficient, polite & friendly, despite being a new recruit. We both enjoyed our lunch extremely & will definitely be regulars. I cannot understand why we were the only customers as with a two course lunch menu at £12.95 with West End standard surroundings & service, who could ask for more after shopping in great Romford market & town.

Fantastic food, fantastic staff and amazing food !!

The place is very elegant and clean.Food, mostly italian style, is well presented and very tasty. Portions quite generous. It is worth a visit.

We have been to many restaurants around Romford with friends, so was excited about this new place that has opened and booking a table was seemless.

New restaurant with style, although the menu and wine list was limited the food and the service was really good, very clean, lovely white tablecloths with good cutlery, will go back soon with friends, this could be the start of a really good local restaurant

The new 'Opera' Italian restaurant is next door but one to a well established Chinese restaurant, and I believe they will attract more diners now to the area being together.
