Excellent pesto toasties. Everybody was happily replete after our breakfast. Staff was very nice and welcoming.

Used to come here frequently. I’m not going back. Staff in general are nice, don’t tend to see them for very long, however the manager was unreasonable.

Such kind, accommodating staff who dealt with our last-minute mistake very professionally and generously. Thank you!

Opera Cafe catered for a birthday party I held today, and the food and service was truly top notch. They accommodated me when I made a date mistake that I caught very late, and the food itself was delicious and seriously great value. Highly, highly recommend them for catering or for eating in - they're the best.

I've been to the Opera Cafe several times since it was recommended to me by a friend in 2022. I'm very fussy abouy my coffee and have been very pleased with the black Americano served here. The people I've been with tell me that the milky offerings are good as well. Each time I've visited I've had a vegetarian wrap of some sort and they've all been very tasty and great value. Service has always been quick and friendly, even when there is a long queue. All-in-all, I'd have to say that the Opera Cafe is my first choice near the centre of Oxford for coffee or a quick lunch.

I came in today to this lovely "Small" cafe The staff welcomed us , I felt like i am in a restaurant not a cafe shop. We had a cafe to start our morning , the manager made suer our cafe is hot as we requested, Fazel his name i think, he made suer my cafe is with oat milk as i am lactose intolerance, he delivered our order by him self and made suer everything is ok . So we decided to come back for brunch, so again Fazel made suer our wraps and soups are hot and he cleaned the toster personally so no cheese left over is touching our food . again it is really busy small cafe shop and yet again Fazel he delivered our food. I am coming back for the breakfast next week.

I made the mistake of coming here in early December. The Food is mediocre and over priced, can get far better in other cafes in Oxford. My meal came cold and the wait was extremely long. My coffee was also cold and my friends iced drink came in a filthy glass covered in greasy finger marks. The staff were extremely unpleasant when I quiereed the wait time and the owner of the cafe was very rude and aggressive. He definitely needs to go and get some therapy! I will not be coming back and recommend you do the same!

First visit to Oxford today and came across this cafe when we were looking for Oxford Ceramics Gallery close by. The service was great and the choice of drinks and cakes excellent. We enjoyed our coffee so much; we came back later for lunch and were not disappointed. Would certainly visit again.

In the past I have reviewed Opera Cafe and my view on the quality of food/coffee does not change, however today my wife met with unacceptable behaviour. Having been there in the past and having been quite satisfied, my wife popped in as we were passing by just to ask for a plastic cup. The reaction of the staff was astonishing, the barista went as far as saying rather rudely, "leave me alone, I am busy". I am not sure what was going on this person's mind and frankly I do not care, if he is unable to handle a simple request, he is evidently in the wrong line of work. It is rather sad, the place is nice and such behaviours are not doing justice to it.

I have been to Opera Cafe many times and have never been disappointed in what I ordered. The range of food and drinks is great, and the outside seating is especially lovely to sit in in the summer. On top of that, the staff are always kind and friendly, and between the loyalty card and student discount, OC is very student-friendly. I can recommend the Persian Love Cake especially, it's always a treat when available.

I visited Opera Cafe by looking online on Google, there were many open places, though the nearest to me was the Opera cafe. I walked 10 mins to reach the place and it turned out to be a huge surprise. It has got a lovely place downstairs in the backyard, covered, that gives very home kind of feeling. No doubt for meat-eaters, the place is full of wonderful options, but as a vegetarian I got to try the Avocado Toast and Lentils/Beans Soup which was superb. The soup has the perfect tanginess and flavours. The avocado toast was so filling and yummy, I didn't leave even a small bite. I also ordered 2 karak chai for myself that was amazing. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. I will return again whenever I am ion Oxford.

Discovered Opera cafe quite recently and have enjoyed every visit. The baklava is divine and the chicken wrap has become a staple. Every time my partner and I have visited, we've been greeted with a smile and made to feel as if nothing was too much trouble. I hope this quiet, unassuming spot gets the recognition it deserves!

Food, service, ambience all first rate. This is a Jericho gem. I had a wonderful roast chicken wrap, and a cheese cake that was to die for. All made on site, with quick and cheery service.

The Opera Cafe is a little Gem, offering very good coffee and very good food! The downside is that it is very small and getting comfortable seating can be challenging. Nonetheless, it's certainly worth a try!

Had a takeaway for 3 of us of toasties, coffee and a tea. The toasties were superb and the wraps looked great too. I had spinach and it was lovely.

We stopped by for takeaway lunch and coffee. At first glance it seemed like nice coffee shop with selection of pastries and wraps displayed. However a poor quality of Moroccan inspired wrap was disappointing - wrap itself tasted like burnt paper and clearly the filling was made from not fresh vegetables. Also barista who was making coffee for us was making stupid inappropriate jokes and cappuccino was too hot. Poor quality and overpriced. Do not recommend

We walked up from our boat on the Thames for breakfast and were recommended this café. All had a delicious meal with friendly service. Will definitely come back on our next visit. Loved Jericho too, what a great place.

I first went there to have my fix of Moroccan Crêpes, which I discovered from the first bite was the real deal! The staff is super friendly and very thoughtful, the opening times very convenient and the food a delight: I was hooked and became a regular! I particularly recommend the Matcha Latte (with coconut milk), but these guys have often specialities to make you discover and contribute greatly to the atmosphere of Jericho. Thanks for being part of Oxford!

We visited Opera cafe multiple times! The location, the coziness and warm welcome you get when entering and the great design make you feel like you don’t wanna go anywhere... You have to try everything! The food and the cakes are amazing!

Visited in the recent heatwave. Enjoyed home made wraps and juices plus excellent spicy soup. Looks OK for vegans as well. Welcoming friendly service, priced very sensibly for fresh products. Attractive setting, lots of local customers. Unusual cakes for sale. Really worth a trip if you are a hungry tourist, close to the centre of town.

Popped in for a coffee whilst I was in Oxford for work. The staff were really friendly and I was served quickly. I sat inside and there was plenty of comfy seating and the decor is cute. The coffee was really reasonably priced and they don’t charge extra for milk substitutes which is great. I had an iced oat latte and it was nice. Didn’t have food but the Moroccan wraps looked delicious so would definitely want to try if I visited again. They also had strong WiFi which is good for working.

These guys served me the hardest Nutella pancake on the planet.

This is a hidden gem, where they sell fresh hot wraps served with salad, soups, desserts and different types of teas. It’s a narrow entrance with more room for seating around the back. We felt very comfortable and go there often. It is snuggled in Walton street, near Little Clarendon street. Perfect for a catch up or a snack.

I found this gem of a cafe a few months ago. The Moroccan themed food is excellent, puddings are also wonderful, very congenial atmosphere. I take all my friends here for a tasty and easy meal. Food is wholesome and very good value.

This is my favourite cafe in Oxford, very chilled out with great food. A good for catch up with friends or to get some work done. The food and ambience is great.

We just dropped by for a takeaway snack after watching the Summer Eights rowing on the river. The lady who served us was very knowledgeable about the large baked trays of dessert cakes based on middle eastern cusine, explaining the cooking method. They were very tasty as well. The chicken and aubergine savoury dish was also delicious. Located in Jericho just west of the city centre and colleges in an area becoming known for great cafes and wine bars and of course the amazing Frevd cocktail lounge in a massive converted church.

Lovely cafe with excellent Middle Eastern cuisine and great coffee! Everything is homemade, flavorful, and fairly priced. Free wifi and a nice space to work on a covered outdoor patio as well. Staff were so kind and gave us some new pastries they were sampling - delicious knafeh. Will be back!

A very pleasant little place where you can feel comfortable eating on your own or with friends and where the staff welcome you with great warmth. I have dietary restrictions and the chef adapted one of the options especially for me. When I left, I was offered a taste of the Majadra (not sure of spelling) and it was utterly delicious. That's what I'll eat next time

Visited here for a coffee and wrap. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe has a very informal atmosphere.

The food is really good with many different options including vegan ones and I adore their fresh juices! I always feel very comfortable and welcomed by a super sweet and friendly staff team. Natacha

We had breakfast here one early morning and we thoroughly enjoyed the wrap and the roasted salad. Juices were made to order, and wrap was served warm with side salad. The eggs royal was fine, but it was the wrap that outshines. Wish we had room to try dessert.

I often come here for lunches (take away), and I usually have a wrap or the kabsa (fragrant/spiced rice and chicken). Personally the kabsa is my favourite, and I will always have that unless it's not being served.

I have been very very regular customer but after what happened today never again! I always had my favourite spicy chicken wrap so as today! But in my wrap today I found long black hair!!! Stopped eating and nearly vomiting told the girl who was serving what I found! She only offered me a new one without any sorry but I didn’t want so she only took the plate and then bring the money back. Again she didn’t apologise or anything. It’s such a bad customer service there and being a customer for years- never go there again! I feel so sick all day because of this disgusting incident.

Quite small but with some of the friendliest service ever - I was brought extra milk froth for my machiato "just in case you need it"! I'll make it a lunch stop next time!

Opera cafe is the place to go to in Oxford. The best coffee in town (strong and distinctive), delicious food (the best avocado on toast in town!), and very friendly stuff make you keep coming back. The carrot cake is to die for, as well as the porridge- creamy and delicious!

Waited for 20 minutes for a cup of coffee and had to leave before it could arrive. Food all looked great, but the place was too big and busy for the number of staff.

I simply love coming to Opera Café, especially for their delicious wraps (veggie and chicken options) with soup (lunch deal), coffee, orange/carrot juice and baklava for dessert! The staff is super friendly and attentive, and I have become a regular costumer. It is also a great place to work/study (with additional seating downstairs) and meet up with friends/family. The location in Jericho is a plus as well, and I feel like home while I'm here :) One of the best cafés in Oxford and I totally recommend it!

Opera Cafe offers food options for people of all tastes and preferences. The variety of flavors will accommodate the palate of any guest. Their meals are very filling especially for the price point. Some choices to recommend would be their shakshuka, vegetarian wrap, and mint orange drink thing. The best value restaurant in Oxford in my humble opinion.

I've come here twice, but will certainly continue coming throughout the duration of my time in Oxford. The food is delicious (especially the Moroccan wrap) and the pastries are unique and high quality.. Today we came in for lunch for my birthday, and the staff brought out two free extra slices of cake for my friends, candles, and also sang happy birthday.. it was incredibly sweet and we didn't even ask! Very friendly and cozy atmosphere, highly recommend this place for a meal, coffee with friends, or to study.

The vibes were excellent. A poor American girl tried to hit on one of the servers at one point but she desperately struggled... She asked if he was french because she liked his french accent, it reminded her of the time she studied in Paris, etc... dude was like: ‘I’m Turkish.’

None of us got what we ordered. Food all arrived at different times. If you’re going to specialise in poached eggs it would be good to get them right. One dish was completely hard boiled, another undercooked with whites still runny. Shame as nice location and good menu - just need a chef to match it.

Four of us were on our way to somewhere else when it was decided to pop in here for a quick coffee. The cafe was inviting and I liked the atmosphere. I was very pleased that there was a selection of juices available. However, when my juice came it was o.k but not really very nice. It was like the juices I make for myself and feel I could do better. Where I live there is a Coffee1 cafe and their juices are so much better. I just wonder if the person who made the juice has ever tasted it before giving it to a customer.

The food and drinks are really nice but some items are a bit pricey for what they are or how little they are (for instance, nearly £3 for herbal tea when it's served in a very small cup...most places would serve the same for a whole tea pot!).

This is my local cafe and I love them. One of the few places in Oxford with a few tables outside and a courtyard out the back. The chicken wraps are always a winner for s simple lunch but they do all sorts of Middle Eastern style food and a big list of coffees, teas and juices. And best of all, everyone who works there is lovely.

Lovely food, eggs, avocado and beans and great coffee and juices, the food took a little while to arrive but as we were in no hurry and the atmosphere was so relaxed this was no problem. Super little cafe with great cappuccino, offering Middle Eastern/North African sweets (of filo, honey & nuts) and mains; very friendly staff; seating inside, on the pavement at the front, and in a covered paved area down steps at the back. Just 3-4 minutes walk away from the Oxford University Dept of Continuing Education at Rewley House (in Wellington Square), so great for a coffee or lunch in breaks between lectures. So good, I went there twice today!

This lovely café looks very enticing from the outside with its outdoor seating and display of colourful cakes. inside the staff are all friendly and all the food I have tried has been very tasty. I can recommend the Lentil Soup, Chicken Wraps and Moussaka. I like to go there in the evenings to relax and enjoy their coffee and delicious cakes and my favourites are the Chocolate and Lime Cake and Mango Cheesecake. Their Middle East desserts are also very tasty. Having tried about 20 cafes in Oxford, I can say that Opera Cafe is now my favourite.

Opera is a favourite cafe at any time of day - excellent breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, as well as great drinks and snacks. The hot veggie wrap is especially delicious. Really nice vibe inside, with some outdoor seating too. The staff are always really friendly and the food is very good value.

This is definitely our favourite cafe in Oxford. Fantastic coffee, delicious food, friendly service and great atmosphere. My husband goes for the Kabsa every time and rates it as one of the best things he's ever eaten. I would highly recommend the wraps which I'm told are made with semolina and are utterly delicious. They are open til 10pm and it's lovely to be able to get this cafe experience in the evenings.

This became a staple of my time as a student in Oxford - the hot veggie wrap is delicious and the staff friendly, tolerating my long hours sitting in their cafe studying. They also gave my father free baklava after accidentally giving him the wrong tea, which was nice of them. Cosy atmosphere and off the tourist trail so not too busy.

I called in for coffee after a long walk with a good friend - and it was so nice to find different snacks to the normal Costa type fare. They had 2 large pans of baklava type cakes which were delicious. Tea and iced coffee were good and we sat outside and cooled down. We would certainly go back as the rest of the menu looked interesting.

..... if you want a long wait, terrible service, and cold and/or undercooked eggs. Even a full refund did not compensate for a horrible experience.

Found this little cafe by accident - and we're really pleased we did. Coffee is great and the interesting menu gives great options. Shakshuka Eggs was the lick of the bunch for us. Friendly service and nice ambience.

Opera is a superb combo of good food, location and people. I go there regularly for food, they have a wide-range of Middle Eastern dishes, sweet and savoury as well as great fresh juices. The people working there are kind (even keeping my phone for me when i had forgotten it once). Highly recommend if you are looking for a sturdy healthy sit-down lunch, with great vegetarian/vegan options.

We chose Opera Cafe because it was handy for someone we were meeting but, now we have discovered it, we'll definitely be back. Great coffee, pastries and a range of middle eastern foods. Order as you enter and your choices are delivered to your table by the friendly staff. There's not a lot of space but there is undercover, outside seating at the back. Takeaway also available.

I ordered soup and when paying saw an offer for a half panini, so asked if I can have that as well, the owner said yes. Waitress gives me the price out of the blue, which is not the difference between the deal and what I have just paid. I said what it should be, she charged me this amount. Then I am still standing there and both the waitress and the owner started chatting and make coffees, backs to me, completely ignoring me. Soup was served as a takeaway. They both clearly forgotten about the sandwich. Finally the owner reaches to the panini, and wants to grill it, I am watching him, and saying 'I thought you must have forgotten about it'. He goes on about another order that he has to serve before me. Well, he hasn't finished serving me yet!!!! At that point I was annoyed with the service and asked to leave a feedback, he nervously picked up a pen and a note, then changed his mind and threw money at me, and said he refuses to serve me and asks to leave!!!!!!!! That evening the café there was quiet, all 4 customers overheard the conversation. It is appalling place with disguising service and revolting attitude!

Although we didn’t have a full meal what we had and what we saw was so colourful and tasty. Traditional middle eastern soups n deserts were so tasty , nice coffees and teas and good staff. Hope this place doesn’t change ,:

I met a colleague here for a drink and lunch. Obviously a friendly place, but the staff seemed harried. Tables not cleared, orders not taken; on the other hand, they insisted on serving, provided bread, napkins, cutlery and so on. A line formed in front of our table -- it's a small place. Pleasant to gather with friends, for tasty home style Mediterranean food.

On this chilly afternoon I needed a warm spot in Jericho to pause and regroup. The decor is bright and inviting and the service prompt and friendly. Good coffee and a large selection of pastries are available. A large bottle of water available at the table was greatly appreciated. Nice music too. If you need a bite to eat or drink or internet time to strategize your sightseeing plans this is a great spot to visit.

As an Oxford local I visit this cafe frequently, and it is without a shadow of a doubt one of the highest quality cafes in Oxford. Their Mediterranean theme gives the cafe a unique sense of separation from the busy hubbub of central oxford, the food is consistently delicious, the coffee is astonishing (and has steadily improved since I first started going) and the service I receive is always of a high standard; friendly and fast, which is all you can really ask for. I would highly recommend this cafe to all.
