Booked online, recommended by friend, food extremely well presented and delivered to table in reasonable time (saturday evening) menu provides extensive choice, staff considerate and clearly well aware of customer focus, lighting not sufficient in some areas, I saw one woman using the torch light on her mobile phone to read menu, ventilation in restaurant good, no hot water in rest rooms is really very poor, Five stars overall.because of attention of staff and quality of food.

We recently celebrated my father’s 80th birthday at Opa Opa, and from the moment we booked our table for 26 guests to the delightful desserts and coffees at the end, the entire experience was flawless. The staff were exceptionally attentive and kind, ensuring everything ran smoothly without a hitch. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the celebration truly memorable for everyone involved. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or service to mark such a special occasion. Thanks again, Alex and team!

Friendly, good service and delicious food.

We tried Opa Opa for the first time and had it as a takeaway, the food was still hot when we got home and it didn’t disappoint, it was beautifully cooked and a good sized portion we will have again and dine in the restaurant next time.

We visited on a Saturday evening on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Great food and service. Nice atmosphere - busy but just right.

We recently ate at Opa Opa on 15th October and were absolutely delighted with the food and the very friendly service. We are vegetarians but found a lot of choice on the menu. The tirokafteri that we had as a starter was really delicious as were the pleurotus mushrooms; gigantes and goat cheese salad that we had as mains. The baklava for dessert was divine. We rounded the meal off with coffee and delicious ouzo. When the waitress discovered that the day was our wedding anniversary we were presented with two more shots of ouzo on the house! Very authentic Greek restaurant, good atmosphere, centrally located and reasonably priced. We recommend highly.

I wouldn’t call this authentic Greek food being Greek myself The portions were very small served with a lot of chips to make it look bigger The DOLMADAKIA seem to have come from a tin heated up in the microwave but was still cold in the middle but very soggy on the outside the Loukaniko was definitely not authentic Greeks sausage that seem to have been a Frankfurter put on the grill maybe if you’ve lived in Hastings or Bexhill all your life you would think that was authentic, but it’s definitely not and the prices aren’t cheap either

Sorry nothing authentic about this place. Wish I'd taken pics as looked nothing like the other reviews. Straight out the freezer! Greek salad was a salad garnish with lettuce, no olives or feta. Very disappointing

Wonderful restaurant with a really authentic menu. Greek salad was amazing but nothing can compare to the sharing platter. A great selection of meats, delicious dips and fantastic service. Worth noting that there are no draft beers on tap, just bottles, but a full range of drinks none the less. The restaurant is also spotlessly clean, with brilliant decor. A real local gem.

The Greek salad was fantastic. I've never ate a better one before. The dips with bread were delicious too. My wife was totally happy with the wine & my bottled beer super. Sadly for us, we live too far away to visit here regularly, but the next time we are in the near... ..."We'll be back". Many thanks for a wonderful evening 😊

Tried Opa Opa for the first time with my girlfriends. Lovely welcome. Service was a little slow. Food is really good, good prices, quality ingredients. Would recommend and will return.

Fabulous Greek restaurant, great food and lovely service

Great food, great service & great value.

Where to begin, food was exploding with flavour, price was very reasonable, staff were polite, to me and waiting time was quicker than McDonalds drive through. The portions looked small but were the perfect amount of filling where you were satisfied you didn’t want more to eat but you weren’t waddling to the car with anticipation of undoing your belt to breathe. My only complaint would be ive never eaten Greek food before and ordered the Opa Opa Special, reading this I thought the Mixed Lamb & Beef meat Kofte were 2 separate things. I was abit confused when my meal came out and there were 2 Koftes on my plate I thought the lamb was missing, I did question this to the waitress and asked “is this the lamb or the beef?” thinking I was missing one, she looked at me and agreed with me which didn’t really answer my question. I then realised it was a lamb and beef Kofte, not really an issue but communication was a tad dull. The table opposite mine had a few issues which the way Opa Opa resolved it left me questioning if I’d come back. The lady at the table ordered Chicken Souvlaki which comes with 2 chicken skewers. She went to put salt on it using the salt grinder and the lid came off pouring salt all over her meal... shame really. She notified the waitress who explained how a salt grinder works to her like she didn’t already know, she probably meant well but you could see the lady was feeling a bit patronised and rightfully I would have too, it did come across sarcastic like saying “it’s a pull door” to someone who pushes it (No S*** Sherlock). The lady explained it was just a loose lid and she was left to her demise, eventually another waiter came over and offered to swap it out and she accepted politely. Upon getting her new meal the chips were brand new, but the two chicken skewers she sent back came back as one and a half skewers. Turns out the chicken skewers were not replaced the kitchen tried to remove the salt (by scraping it off she described by the looks of it) and removed half a skewer. She questioned this to them and they insisted that it was all brand new when you could clearly see it wasn’t. In the end of trying to eat it she couldn’t hack the saltiness of it, one last time she called the waiter over to take it back, she finally was defeated by the salty content of her plate explaining politely to the waiter its still too salty and sent it back. They offered if they could get her anything else but she politely declined, I could see the frustration in her face and her partner looked like a really grumpy Colonel Sanders, safe to say they probably wouldn’t leave a good review. You shouldn’t offer to do something then not really do it. After we finished our meal we looked at the pudding menu and the options were Churos, Cheesecake (neither which are really Greek), Baklava and Kataifi, after reading what these two pastries are, the conclusion was it’s the same thing really. Unfortunately, the only thing about the menu that had any variety was the drinks menu. To sum this up, id probably go back there if I fancied but I wouldn’t be beating people back with a stick climbing though a window to get in first.

Food was excellent and reasonably priced. We had a shared starter, 2 mains 2 puddings and were surprised to see the bill was under £55! Lovely cosy restaurant. We only gave 4 stars in service as we were left waiting a while between courses/not offered more drinks/plates cleared etc it was a very busy Friday evening in there though so we have assumed they were under pressure.

Lovely restaurant very clean and very nice decor. The toilets are very good!! Always a good sign. Food was spot on, only negative was I was hoping for souvalaki wrapped in pita and it was just sliced pita. Still very good

The food was fine but the decor really lets it down with the neon signs and fake insta flowers vibe. Would be so much cuter if like a greek taverna. Didnt understand the wicker cactus?! It just doesnt feel greek at all.

Wow. I am a huge Greek food fan and can confidently say this is one of the best Greek meals I've had in the UK. The menu has a fantastic variety of traditional Greek food, catering well for veggies. We had stuffed vine leaves and fried courgettes to start which were fantastic. I had the chargrilled oyster mushrooms as a main and it's one of the best veggie dishes I've had. Two starters and two mains came to £40. You'd easily pay twice that in London for this quality! Will definitely coming back!

I’m not sure how the owners can call Opa Opa ‘authentic Greek cuisine’. We went for the first and last time. The food was nice but the menu options were limited- very limited, which told us that this was lacking in authenticity. The fact that they offer a choice of chips or mash potato should have set alarm bells ringing. Greek food is about flavour and potatoes (village style) and rice is one of the key accompaniments. We were also served gravy with the lamb. If we wanted a Sunday roast we’d have gone to a pub. For authenticity I give a one star. I’m associated with Greek folk and am embarrassed to say I went there.

Went there for the 1st time yesterday. The young lady who greeted up was very polite and showed us our table. Her service was of a high standard and when our food arrived, it was the best Greek food I've had since I've been back to Cyprus. Will certainty be coming back again

This was a fantastic surprise,in a positive way We were greeted by Artur,with a smile to die for, and Alex(junior)shown to a great table AND then served the most delicious butterfly chicken served by a lovely waitress followed by Baklava plus Icecream(yes,I could have eaten 2) The cleanliness was outstanding Bexhill has just gone up in my estimation,shift over The Ivy,Asia(Brighton) Prices very,very reasonable The family atmosphere is enviable(you cann't buy that) We will be returning Well done,Alex.

Good Food was excellent Not quite so good Was a problem with our booking, but the staff were very apologetic and a complimentary round of drinks was offered. There was also a long wait - 1 hour between finishing starters and main course arriving. We felt it was getting to be a king wait when the food was delivered. Any longer would have been a problem. Food was so good that we will still return.

Visited the restaurant for evening meal with friends. Nothing wrong with the service and the restaurant is lovely inside. Spacious, so you are not sitting near other diners which was great. Unfortunately my food was underwhelming. My portion on spanakopita was large. However it was fairly bland and once I started on the second piece It started to seem dry.I really needed something like a sauce, dip or side salad with it. I chose halloumi salad for main. Very disappointing for £11.50. Heaps of shredded white lettuce, cherry tomatoes and small pieces of grilled halloumi - that's it! No cucumber, olives, julienned carrot, radish, bitter leaves, all those things you'd expect in a nice salad. It came ready dressed in the balsamic dressing which was unpleasant and tasted shop bought. The chips were nice. Maybe the meat options are better but wouldn't recommend for vegetarians. Not worth the £30.

First of all the food was great, amazing grills. Service was a bit slow and the staff were not very knowledgeable about what on the menu was gluten free instead we got offered the vegan menu, we eventually got around that and got reccomended some dishes. There was a bit of a wait between courses but as I mentioned it was worth the wait for the food. The restaurant itself doesn't feel greek the decor is a bit bland and generic of a place that has recently opened

Had a fantastic experience here with the family. The food was absolutely fantastic. I recommend the kofte it was incredible. All freshly made and authentic greek cuisine, not and english knock off. Service was top notch too and the owner is very accommodating. 100% recommend I can't fault it.

We visited Opa Opa on a bit of a whim. The staff were really helpful and everything came quickly. The food was fine for what it was and not overly expensive. However, the choice of food was somewhat limited. For instance, we are used to squid and octopus being on Greek menu along with greek stews. That's not to say that food was poor, just that the choice was limited. Have a look on the menu. It might just be me who is being picky.

There are many good restaurants in Bexhill but for years we have wished for a Greek restaurant. Our wish has been answered. We have dined as a couple and a family group. Both experiences were brilliant. Love the food, the Greek beer and the youngsters enjoyed the mocktails. Opa Opa has attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone and everything we've tried has been delicious. Already planning our next visit. Yammas!
