Oowee Vegan in Hackney

OMG!! Many good reviews because people don't know what they are eating!! The food looks good. However, it is a filthy kitchen. They don't follow food safety standards. Please be aware that you don't know what you are eating. I will never order the food there again. The staff don't have food and safety licences too! Please be aware!!

It was such a lovely experience the atmosphere is so friendly and the servers were so welcoming and funny, it has a really great vibe. The food was also great I would highly recommend the shrimp and their vegan mayo is definitely something to try as well!

such a nice experience the staff are super friendly and helpful. Answer any questions you have. and just generally make it a nice dining experience. Not too busy at all but there is still lots of space to sit. and great vegan food! there is such a large variety on the menu. would defiantly recommend. the shrimp were so good !

Would have given 4.5 stars as music was a bit too loud for us at that time in early eve. Staff were charming, food was awesome, good portions. Delicious sauce, chicken burger batter was amazing. It is a little pricey BUT no plastic was used in packaging, and the food is worth it. The popcorn shake has to be tried, very well balanced flavours, thickness and refreshing, not heavy like a dairy shake. We'll be back.

The vegan junk food at Oowee vegan is amazing. It stands out from the rest. Personally I'd recommend the baconator and the sriracha shrimp fries. If you're vegan and need a spot for junk food this should be the one for you.

We visited the Oowee branch in Stoke Newington and were deeply disappointed. The burgers had a crusty exterior that was almost solid, making for an unappetising texture. The girl serving was friendly but when we ordered our burgers, she asked, "Do you want the hash brown inside the burger or on the side?" Given the wording, we assumed it was included in the price, so went ahead and asked for it on the side (which they got wrong btw :/). We later realised that we were charged £1 per hash brown. We heard her asking another customer the same question, so it wasn't like we misheard/misunderstood her. This felt very misleading, especially as the burgers were already overpriced. The general feel was a bit rundown (sticky floors, intense smell of grease). Really, really disappointing overall. Would not recommend.

First time I went there, food was nice but far too expensive £9.50 for a burger, not even a meal! Don’t really think I will go there again.

I've been looking forward to trying this vegan food for a while. I ordered online for delivery and opted for Flamin' Hot Clucker, Mac n' Cheese and fries. On arrival, there was an overriding smell coming from the food, I think it was the cheese, it wasn't good. I'd also be interested in what oil they use to fry the fries and jalapeños in the burger... it really smelled awful. The burger itself(without the fried jalapeños) I'd give a 3/5 but the Mac n' Cheese 0/5 it was gross. Sorry to the chefs who spent time perfecting the recipe but honestly, I had one spoon and couldn't stomach anymore, it was like eating hot plastic. Sorry but I wouldn't eat here again.
