One Thai in Bishop's Stortford in East Hertfordshire

We loved this the food was delicious and the waitress was fantastic and very attentive. My husband had the seafood mix which was delicious and plenty of it. Extremely reasonable prices and nice atmosphere. Beautifully clean toilets too !We will be back thank you x

I had been to this restaurant several times in the past two/three years since it was newly opened, and my old review for it was 4 stars, and now I am editing my review and give it a 2 stars, because today I had quite a disappointing dining experience there. I went there for lunch at 12:30pm on a Friday. I asked for a table of 2 and my friend hasn’t arrived yet (she then came in 10 mins later), the restaurant was half full and there was only one waitress serving all the customers. Apparently she was very busy and I could understand that, she then pointed to me to sit on one of the tables. Ever since I sat down there, I started to feel myself like invisible, she didn’t give me any menu, I then needed to walk to her to ask for a starter and drinks menu (or she was thinking we would not order any starters or drinks?) but she did give food & drink menu and even 2 glasses of tap water to another table, obviously without them asking. I wonder why ? So I kind of felt so uncomfortable there as I felt we weren’t really served properly. I had Thai red curry I think it wasn’t really tasty , my friend had fried rice and she said it tasted good.

Dropped in VERY hungry. Made an order online. Paid in restaurant. Had a chat with delivery driver in my very bad Spanish, they're from Hungry, sorry bad spolling... Hungary....and practicing his Spanish because there's an Ecuadorian member of staff! Walked home. Got back home and 2 minutes later food arrives! Min spend £25, but I've some leftovers to finish. 2 meals for £25! #peoplelikeus in Bishop's Stortford! 10☆ if I could because the food was ffffffffffantastic! ❤️❤️❤️

Lovely polite staff, food was very good. I gave One Thai an average for atmosphere but we went early one Saturday evening and some clientele were s bit raucous which is to be expected. I will definitely go back

Got a takeaway with friends on a Saturday lunchtime. It was the first time of ordering and we were all really impressed by the quality of the food.

I have eaten in the restaurant and had deliveries from One Thai. The food is delicious and fresh and is the best local Thai restaurant in the area. With one delivery, the soup spilled out during transit - the owner refunded me and also gave 20% discount which was automatically applied when ordering again online. Fantastic food and brilliant customer service! Will keep coming back.

Been here a few times and the food and welcome has always been excellent. Great value as well. Ask for the food to be "Thai spicy" for that extra kick!

In my 13 years I never had the bad food like that . My Frnd invite me to attend her birthday party . So order some food . It was so bad taste . Just had few bit and I threw all the food . Noodle was over cooked , price is so expensive. £12 for noodles fry , I can do it my home . So disgusting taste But the staff are so good and friendly. I like their customer service. But the reason I went to the restaurant is food. Which is not good

Staff are nice, the size of the food is comparative small. Child menu around £4 with main dish only, dessert (ice cream) cost extra £2. The toilet is very clean.

Visited here this week. As always food was fantastic but service was very poor. You really need one person at the bar and two people serving.

This was a takeaway rather than a restaurant visit. The food itself was quite nice when we actually received it (but stone cold and nearly an hour late from the original estimate, and half an hour late from the revised time given). We placed an order at 9pm through their website, with an estimated delivery of 9.50 (this was fine, and certainly reasonable for a Friday night). The restaurant rang me at 9.55 to let me know it would be ten minutes late; at 10.20 I rang them for an update, to be told the driver had left at 10.10. We live within a mile of the restaurant, so wouldn’t expect an actual delivery to be long. At 10.30, still no food had arrived so I rang back to be told it would be with us any minute. At 10.45 the food finally arrived stone cold as we were calling for a refund. Obviously issues happen and it’s possible that they were short staffed of drivers, but we would absolutely not have bothered ordering if we had known it would take so long to arrive.

The curry, which I paired with a delicious Mai Tai, was perfectly portioned and very flavourful.

Super small dishes even i took the large one for an extra cost. Staff didnt want to share me the wifi password but then suddenly when i had problems to pay and needed to check my bank account then she new the password even before she didnt😂😂 not going ever again

Very enjoyable for a lunch. Excellent food and portions were just right. Definitely one to re-visit. And three months later my opinion hasn't changed. Absolutely delicious but only order it 'Thai hot' if you can handle the heat!

Delicious food, especially the mixed starter that was piping hot and really flavoursome. Standard price for a thai. A very enjoyable evening.

The family meal at that Thai restaurant was absolutely brilliant! Pad Thai was spot on - lovely and flavourful, with just the right balance of sweet and savoury. The real winner was the duck curry. The duck was tender and juicy, and the curry sauce was rich and fragrant. I highly recommend giving both dishes a try if you get the chance. All in all, we had a great time tucking in and catching up as a family. Can't wait to go back!

Easily our favourite Thai restaurant in Bishop’s Stortford and I can claim to know a bit about Thai cuisine , having lived in South East Asia. It is very small so booking recommended although they found a table for us when we went on spec having returned from London. Great choice of food and you can ask them to make a dish more to your taste either hotter or milder Would recommend the tempura prawns, spring rolls, sea bass and any variety of pad thai

I rarely leave reviews but on this occasion I will make an exception; this was pretty much the best Thai meal I’ve ever had. The food was clearly freshly cooked by someone who knew their craft, excellent service and reasonably priced dishes. We will definitely be going back soon.

Love this little, authentic restaurant. Some friends and I use it quite regularly and highly recommend the food and service. Not chain food style, more straight off the beach in thailand, slightly rustic in ambience. Look forward to next time ... again.

Relaxed atmosphere. Great location in the town. Reasonably authentic food. Definitely one of the better Stortford restaurants. I would recommend checking it out. We had sharing platter, Penang tofu and veg curry, sea bass and pad Thai with pork. Mint soda mocktail. All were fab.

Having previously ordered an amazing take out, I have decided to visit the restaurant with a few friends. We had a great evening, the service was efficient despite busy restaurant, atmosphere was buzzing, and the food was absolutely beatiful. Lab Pla is definitely worth trying, seabass with fresh lime and chilli dressing. Simply yummy.

Our whole experience was disjointed from the start. We called the restaurant to what it seemed to be convinced / put off of ordering a delivery due to the wait time of which we said it was fine. After the restaurant trying to find more excuses not to deliver or suggest a collection, they said they can’t deliver and we have to order off deliveroo or Uber eats. We therefore proceeded to download the app and order off there where we need to pay service charges & delivery fees making the meal more expensive. When the order finally arrived 30 minutes after we received a notification it’d be dispatched, the portion sizes were extremely small. Considering we ordered 3 curries, 3 rices and 2 starters, £57 seemed abit steep and we expected a-bit of a feast for that price! The way the rice was delivered in a plastic bag and the fact there was no peanuts in the small portion of masaman was poor for the price. The whole experience was massively disappointing and the food which was delivered was arguably not even worth 50% of what we paid. Perhaps the restaurant experience is different however I would not recommend a delivery

A small but authentic restaurant tucked away in Bishop’s Stortford town centre, it is certainly a hidden gem. The food was delicious and service was both quick and attentive. The options for vegetarians are amazing, I recommend the tofu pad Thai and the sweetcorn starter.

The staff are really lovely and friendly and the place is nice. However, the portions are small ( I was still hungry when I got home) and the shared platter was very poor other than the chicken satay. A lot of fried pastry,bread etc with very little filling.... not enjoyable and very expensive for what it is. The red thai curry was small, very watery indeed ( I appreciate it shouldn't be thick but this really was thin) and had only four prawns in it. Otherwise all seemingly freshly cooked which is nice. I will think twice about revisiting.

The food was lovely and healthy with generous portions. Service was attentive and friendly. The younger waitress took time totally to us about the area and was polite and engaging.

There are a lot of places in the area where you can eat, but here I like it the most. There is a large selection of food and the prices are reasonable.

This is a lovely buzzy little restaurant, with very friendly attentive staff and a great menu with lots of choice including plenty of vegetarian options. Portion sizes just right. We booked on a Thursday evening and were glad we did as it was busy. We enjoyed all our starters and mains. Thank you!

I dropped by my bike ride. Very decent taste. It was revitalising. Had pad thai and chicken soy stir fry with rice. Prawn was properly peppered and it was good quality. One thing is that I didn’t really feel it was large when I ordered large… maybe they only increase the portion of rice? Definitely gonna revisit if I have a chance to go to the town. The shop keepers are welcoming and serves politely. One thing is that they don’t have a bike park anywhere near (and nobody seems to bike in this town and I got a weird look) so that’s worth noting.

Takeaway Service Very disappointing. Mixed starter for 2 is laughable at the price. The sweetcorn fritters have a terrible texture that coats the mouth - very unpleasant. Red thai curry is very bland with no heat at all and very cheap, rubber chicken. The kind that squeaks the teeth when eating. Pad thai was one of the worst I have had. Very sweet with no salty fish sauce or umani flavour from tamarind. Just bearable with some lime.

Love this place, we always have a lovely meal. Enjoy authentic Thai cuisine and the service is always excellent. Will go back time and time again and recommend to anyone who is visiting Bishop Stortford.

A fabolous dinner with friends at One Thai. Amazing service, very polite and helpful staff and lady owner. The menu is reasonably priced and has a good choice of curries, stir fries and specials. The food was outstanding, especially lamb massaman curry. Highly recommended.

I just popped in for some hot warm food. I was welcomed with great hospitality, I didn't have to wait long for food and drink. The food was tremendous because the Thai food is healthy. Lots of healthy options on the menu. I Will come and visit again.
