Elle's Taikitchen in East Hertfordshire

We were a bit cautious as at 1pm the restaurant was empty. However we like Thai food, so did give it a go which turned out to be a very satisfactory experience. Good value for money, tasty food, the spicy level is exactly what I can handle. The food was served extremely fast. Would definitely go back if we visit hertford again

Elle's kitchen have taken Shrinkflation to another level. Extremely small portions on the set menu. Not sure how a single small plate of pad thai noodles was meant to be for x3. Meat dishes had the majority of the meat substituted with vegetables. Very disappointing to feel completely ripped off.

We had a birthday meal here last night and were really disappointed. The room was really cold and our food luke warm at best. The meals were very bland and could of been microwaved.definately not home cooked which we were looking forward to. The lady who served us was very friendly and it all looked lovely but we paid 150 for a very bland disappointing meal.we won't be going back.

This was my first trip to Elle’s kitchen and this will be my last. The starters were over cooked and the sweet and sour pork was awful. Of the 9 or 10 tiny pieces of pork, 4 of the were pure fat. Think it’s time for a new chef.

This is the first and definitely the last time I’ll be getting a takeout from here starters over cooked wontons not just overcooked but burnt and dry was unable to eat them main meal was sweet and sour pork should have read sweet and sour fat mussamun curry bland and salty all in all a wast of money as it was not edible.could only post when one star was awarded, otherwise there would have been no stars

Omg we have all never been so cold and the same for the other customers, we put the hot plates up our jumpers. Could never go again as the staff were not bothered at all. Shocking

I’ve been going to elles for years and recently the food has been awful. Last night I paid £10 for squid that was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Pad see ew which was so greasy it was awful and a red chicken curry which was ok but not many vegetables at all. Last time the drunken duck gave me a 24 hour toilet experience. I’m done!! And it’s not cheap!

Had a £62 family takeout Friday night to find some of the same dishes half full in the plastic containers. ** Food ** Value for money * Hospitality Complete lack of customer care and professionalism! I would recommend going to Old Sian few doors down for better customer service, food quality and experience for dining inn & takeaway!

Fantastic food the best I've had in a long while, great menu choices the garlic prawns are extremely tasty. Very helpful and friendly staff. My only complaint is I live to far away to use it more regularly, please open a restaurant in Surrey. Very pretty restaurant.

I took my mum here for her birthday. Lovely decor and atmosphere once it filled up. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted with a warm, friendly face which immediately made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic with so many flavours! Left me wanting more. We had the crispy duck with pancakes, king prawn curry and penang curry both with sticky rice, gyozas and vegetable spring rolls. All to die for! Very extensive menu with lots of choice. The waiter (I didn't catch his name) was extremely attentive and made us feel like nothing was a problem and very efficient. We will definitely, without a doubt be back again to work our way through the menu and I think ordering a takeaway from there is next!! 😁 Mum thoroughly enjoyed her birthday meal. Thank you.

Sadly we were the only ones in there and the music was generic pop nothing to make you feel you were in Thailand which is what decor aims for.

Recently had a takeaway from Ellie"s Kitchen which I collected. Plenty of choice and options on the menu. Food was hot and very tasty. Will definitely be ordering again.

I visited for lunch, being enticed by a board outside saying £7.95 for one course and only £2 more for a starter. Worth a try, I thought. But when I looked at the menu it was £8.95 for chicken. I opted for Thai red curry together with chicken satay starter. Everything tasted good but the curry was yellow rather than red. Maybe supermarkets and other places add red colour. The atmosphere was spoiled by staff walking up and down the room quite frequently. It was almost like they needed to work on deliveries and customers are a bit of an inconvenience. It got worse after one more table was taken. A teenager pushed through a small gap behind my chair and knocked my coat on to the floor. I was beginning to feel as if it was time to leave and with no reason to ever return.

Been here many many many times and had the sensational chilli beef, it is by far the best dish on the menu and perfectly complimented by their coconut rice. Can't wait to go back one day!

I ordered a takeaway for myself & friends. The man on the phone repeated the order to me, it was all correct. When I got home and got my order out it was wrong and they missed out a few dishes. I called up to see if we could come and change it. The man on the phone was very rude and said I got it wrong not him. My partner went in to get the new food, the man in Elle’s kitchen was raising his voice & called my partner a liar. This is absolutely unacceptable, we spent £70 on our takeaway & get spoken to like that. Would never order from there again!! Which is a shame as it’s our local. Very disappointed!

Having just returned from a family holiday to Thailand, it was a cold, wet miserable January Sunday and we wanted to hold on to our holiday memories! We decided to give Elle’s Kitchen a go. We have had as great takeaways from there but wanted to try the restaurant. The restaurant is cosy, fun and authentically Thai. The service was excellent. Attentive, kind and warm. The food was fantastic and took us right back to Thailand. Wide choice on the menu of typical thai dishes. I will definitely be returning.

On a cold frosty Sunday in December we were the only people in for lunch but food and service were excellent. Definitely one to go back to.

Came with a friend as they have a lunchtime deal. Lovely food, it came so quickly. Our waitress, Niddy was amazing! She was so attentive and lovely, and made our meal very enjoyable. Will definitely come again.

A birthday celebration meal made very personal by the head of restaurant. She asked for the name of my mum when I made the booking, after I'd explained it was her birthday, and referred to her and us by name. She was knowledgeable about the food, was so friendly and even made a special dessert for my mum. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Food was reasonably priced, service was faultless. We love eating in Elle's, the food is always fantastic, very well priced & great service. We especially love the newest member of Staff; Niddy. What a little Pocket Rocket, happy, friendly, funny, was running the restaurant, bar & takeaway service single handedly and with total ease. Her energy is fabulous and her smile infectious. Niddy definitely added to our meal overall experience & we will be looking forward to enjoying her company again.

Lovely meal again tonight at Elle’s. Met the human dynamo that is Niddy, whose suggestions for vegan options were right on the money. Fab host who takes the food very seriously. Meat dishes eaten by my partner were delicious. The food at Elle’s is always top drawer, now with the addition of a lovely lady serving us. Be back soon.

The food we eventually got was actually very good but the service was so bad the food couldn’t compensate for the overall experience . I booked Friday for the evening and was told there was a party of 14 but if we came at 8.30 it would be fine. We arrived promptly and we’re shown to our table. The tables are so close you have no room to move. We were then completely ignored. We asked to order drinks they arrived quite prompt but then nothing, there were 2 ladies serving but they managed to avoid making eye contact every time they came pass. We asked to order and received our starters at 9.30, after asking for our mains twice we got them at 10’pm by which time we were starving. We asked what each dish was and the waitress said she didn’t know !! As I said previously the food was good .. we paid swiftly after we’d eaten and were hit with a £9 service charge. No one asked if we’d enjoyed the food, if everything was okay and no apology was made or explanation for the wait time. Won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend

After dinner Niddy arranged for Banana fritters and a birthday candle for mum which was such a lovely touch and the fritters were to die for. Niddy was a great host, super friendly and helpful when ordering. We will definitely be back and highly recommend you give them a try when in town

I really enjoyed my meal from here. I went to the door to order takeaway (as I had my dog with me, I couldn't enter) and food was ready to collect by the time I'd had a beer across the road! I even ordered off menu and the lovely lady serving accommodated my request. Recommended.

I've been using Elle's for a number of years, for both dine in and takeaway, we've enjoyed many family meals here, with delicious authentic Thai food. Highly recommended, I usually enjoy Pad Thai, Red and Green curries and they are delightfully tasty and not over seasoned (as I have had at other Thai food takeaways). I'll continue to eat here.

Food was excellent but atmosphere spoilt by silly phone/online take away order alerts... constant. Service was not great either and had to ask several times for water. Think they are doing so well with takeaways that they have lost sight of those who bothered to eat in.

Lovely little restaurant in Hertford. The decor and the food was very authentic, it felt like being back in Thailand. The staff were friendly and made excellent recommendations. Every dish was so tasty and beautifully presented. We have been back again and will make it a regular choice for Thai food.

Web site states free Thai crackers over £20 on collection spent £35. Lady says no it does not and has a 5 minute argument! Will not support this local business anymore as lady was so rude and unhelpful over some Thai crackers and wanted to...

Ate in the restaurant pre-covid and enjoyed the food. We had a takeaway in May with some friends and enjoyed it so much we now use this as our go to for takeaways. The food is consistently good with lots of flavour and just the right amount of heat based on their heat rating.Can't wait to eat in soon

If you want proper, authentic Thai food then Elle's Kitchen is a must in the area. All of the dishes we have tried have always been delicious and the Tom Yum Soup which came recommended to me when I had a cold really hit the spot!

Best Thai food in Hertfordshire. Lots of options and they will happily do vegetarian versions of most dishes. Their tofu dishes are amazing.

Had a lovely family meal here today and everyone was so impressed. By far the best Thai food we’ve all had in a very long time. So many choices and so pleased that vegetarians are also really well catered for. Very accommodating when asked to change something on the set menu. Whilst service wasn’t always the speediest, it was polite, helpful and welcoming. Can’t wait for our next meal here.

I have moved from London to Hertford a few months ago. I have been trying many Thai foods from other restaurant across Hertford. I would like to say that Elle's Thai Kitchen has the best thai food I can find in Hertford. They were authentic ingredients!I ordered the Green Curry and a set of Som Tam (This is a set which includes Papaya Salad, Grillled Chicken and Sticky Rice). In short, the meal was very delicious especially how I received the delivery very quickly after I made the order.Would come again when it opens soon for dining in!

I’ve never had service like this before - Absolutely shocking!!We ordered:Prawn crackersPrawn toastSummer rollsDumplingsFish cakesBeef MassamanChicken Pad ThaiGiggling PrawnsThai Sticky RiceAfter eating part of our starter, four dumplings and 4 fish cakes between two people, we decided to call Elles Kitchen as we felt the hot starters had arrived cold and the main courses felt luke warm at best. The staff were very apologetic and advised they would resend our order. 45min later, the new food had arrived. Now, I can only assume it was Elle herself who delivered our food as she proceeded to unpack each uneaten dish we handed back and checked the temperature by sticking her finger in the food...on my doorstep.After sticking her finger in each dish, Elle (who had arrived with a complete new order for us) decided the best course of action would be to withhold the fish cakes and dumplings...because we had eaten them in the first order.To say I was staggered at her behaviour is an understatement, especially as we had returned 75% of the dishes uneaten and spent £60+. I’ve never had this happen to us before.It is not in our interest to waste our time or Elles, especially as she is trying to run a small business but surely we are entitled to call in if we feel our food is cold? How Elle behaved on our doorstep was appalling.I tried to explain to Elle that it was not in her interest to treat her customers like this, however, Elle refused to listen to us and walked away.To recap - our complaint is not to do with the flavour of the food. I’m more than happy to put my hand up and say how flavoursome the food is/was, however, how Elle behaved on our doorstep and treated the customer was nothing short of disgusting, so unfortunately, that will be our last order from the Kitchen.

BIG MISTAKE! Just had the most expensive takeaway ever and to add insult it was also the worst Thai we have had! For example congealed, tasteless noodles with a few chicken pieces for £7.95 Won't make this mistake again, will go to Old Siam in future, far better quality, bigger portions and actually cheaper

Got a takeaway from here 5 months ago and had a pretty mediocre experience, and I’m sorry to say I had the same experience the other day. I placed my order over the phone, and asked for no potatoes in the Massaman Curry. Upon arrival, I was told that they couldn’t take the potatoes out because it’s pre-made. A meal for one person was nearly £20, and for that sort of money I’d expect the food to made fresh and to order. Also, if they can’t make a dish to the customers requirement then I should have been made privy to this information over the phone when I placed the order. Also found the guy in the restaurant pretty rude! No hello, no thank you when he took my credit card and no goodbye. The food tasted good, but I would have preferred it to be made fresh and to my requested requirements. Overall, very mixed yet again! I think I’ve exhausted my try’s with Elles Kitchen now - much better Thai restaurants can be found in Hertford and Ware!

Brilliant food, love the interior and set up of the restaurant inside, really friendly and good service. Great all round!

We really like the food from Elle’s kitchen. A couple of times we’ve had disappointing dishes that were a bit soggy but that is rare. On the whole the food is really good and there’s a large selection or both Thai and Chinese dishes.

FAST DELIVERY ALWAYS...my families trusted vendor. Elle is passionate about flavour, taste and service. We order food atleast once a month from Ellen's and every dish is always so tasty. We never were fans of Chinese takeaway, and the option is such a great alternative from that. We love the brilliant dinner. Definately recommended this restaurant if you like flavoursome THAI food. 😋👍

Really lovely meal, timing of dishes being brought out between courses was perfect. But mostly the service from Kai in particular was amazing!!!! She made us feel like we was having dinner at a friends house. Best service we have recieved in any restaurant. Thank you and see you soon :D
