Love the food. Haven't eaten in, only had takeaway (collection). Food is prepared very quickly and always enjoyed.

Very disappointed portions were very small for the price paid. Would not order from here again as very expensive.

Have been to this Thai for their lunch service many times and always had good food at a great price. This time however was very disappointing. We ordered a starter and main as usual but everything arrived together ie; on the same plate! This meant our “starters” were actually “sides” - how many people would choose a soup side to their curry?!! It also meant that by the time we had eaten the starter the main was pretty much cold. When questioned why this had happened were told it was an initiative to save washing up! Given my soup was obviously in a bowl that clearly made no sense and my mother’s spring rolls were delivered soggy after swimming around in her main dish sauce. PLEASE forget this ridiculous new initiative and go back to a proper “starter” and “main” delivery or we shall definitely not be back. Thanks

Food was pretty average, bordering on poor. 4 pieces of chicken in my Pad Thai which was equally disappointing. Had to pay for 2 extra satay sauces after we were given a measly portion to begin with. Service was slow and staff barely smiled. Won't be going back, sorry

Great food waited ages for main course

Very nice restaurant,but we picked the wrong night, or maybe this is the normal as our first visit. Very Very slow . Ages to get a drink even longer to get the meal ordered. This was not the fault of the server .The poor girl was on her own serving all the restaurant and also take aways and answering the telephone. Not good enough Eli doubt we will return and we had high hopes . Very disappointed.

Could not fault the food in anyway at all. We were not happy with waiting 1 hour for starter . The table we were given was next to reception desk with the staff back and forwards all the time. Telephone ringing in our ears and very noisy. The other not nice atmosphere was that out table back onto te walkway to the toilets so customers were passing behind all the time. The restaurant was nt full and I had booked since the beginning of the week so they knew ell in advance that we were attending.

We tried this charming restaurant during the week when it was fairly quiet. We did enjoy the well presented food and high praise also for the great service.

Absolutely amazing. Was really impressed with the food. Was in the mood for Thai food and did not know where to go - a family friend suggested trying here. It was one the best recommendations! Food was 10/10 - so much choice, but all so good. Great value for money too. Cute interior, brilliant service....will be back!

I visited the Khunnai for lunch with a friend, we have both enjoyed it many times. The staff are polite, friendly and welcoming. We were able to choose our seats and then able to order our drinks. After about ten minutes, having looked at the lunch time menu, we made our choice of meals. We both ordered a starter, tempura vegetables, and a main each. We didn't wait long for our meals and were really looking forward to it. What came up really surprised us, our starter and mains together on the same plate. We queried why this was and was told it was to keep costs down, how!! We didn't argue this and got on with our food. When we ordered our starter, it should be a starter so we can enjoy it then have a ten minute break to let the food go down. If this is how the Khunnai serves their food in the future then I feel this will put customers off. A starter is a starter and a main comes after, it should not all come on the same plate at the same time!

It was the first time using Khunnai Thai Cuisine. Normally use my local Thai in Hoddesdon. Very impressed, the food was stunning, fresh and delivery was on time. Will most definately be using Khunnai Thai in Stansted Abbots again

What a delightful find! We stumbled upon Khunnai Thai Cuisine during a Saturday drive to Hertford, and we're so glad we did. The cozy ambiance drew us in, and the lunch set menu did not disappoint. From the Pad Thai Chicken with Crispy Tofu to the Mixed Seafood Chilli Basil with Jasmine Rice, every dish was bursting with flavor. The Chicken Coconut Soup (Tom Kha) was a soothing addition, and the Fried Ice-cream for dessert was the perfect sweet ending. The prices were reasonable, and the rum and coke with sparkling water complemented our meal perfectly. The service was exceptional - the lady who attended to us was welcoming and always wore a smile. We're already planning our next visit, especially since there's free parking at the back and we want to explore the River Lee just a stone throw from the restaurant. Highly recommended! 🍜🌟

We stumbled across this place on our Sunday walk. The food was very good as was the service. My only gripe is that there was nowhere to dry my hands after washing them in the bathroom.

We returned to Khunnai on a Thursday evening for a family dinner. we chose varied hors d'oeuvres and satay chicken to start with, all were hot and delicious. My son chose green thai curry and coconut rice, my wife chose chicken pad thai and I chose duck with cashew nuts which had been cooked to perfection, the fat had been rendered to leave crispy skin, the flesh was cooked through, the vegetables were crisp and the sauce was tasty. I definitely want to return to eat the crispy duck with cashew nuts again soon. so we tried a wide range of dishes and all were good.

A minor quibble: Potatoes in curry were underdone and of a stringy texture. But ultimately the meal as a whole was very enjoyable, these guys, most of the time, are first class, and the food is great, alwsys hit and in time.

Food was cold, like it was just taken out the fridge. Portion sizes are tiny and it’s very over priced. Buy from somewhere else you’ll get better and cheaper food.

We had a takeaway here and was very disappointed. My chicken noodle dish was very bland and my spring roll/ribs portion was very stingy considering the amount they cost.

The pad Thai was burnt and the crackers were stale. Super disappointing. Will not order again.

Enjoying my Tofu Mussaman curry and sticky rice. Absolutely delicious. Tofu lovely and chewy, potato perfect, rice excellent. Great service too.

We had our usual choices but both observed that the standard was below that of previous visits.

Went here on 12/07/23 with my partner, we cannot fault this place. The food was amazing 10/10. Will definitely be going back.

Delicious Thai Food and great service

Something has changed on my takeaway today. Portions have really decreased (in all dishes. Only 4 gyoza?) and the curries have barely any sauce and arent as nice. Was our go to takeaway and wondering if something has changed or a new chef has started. Really disappointed.

Really lovely food. Very tasty and carefully boxed up. Only problem was the salt and pepper squid, for £10.95, there was hardly any of it. Not sure if there just wasn’t enough on this night to go round, if it wasn’t all put into the container or what had happened. but it was incredibly disappointing for that money.

I recently moved from Stanstead Abbotts, a beautiful little village in the valley of the river Lea. At the end of the high street is this quaint little Thai restaurant that I used to walk by and always said to myself "Before I leave this village, I will book a table and have a meal" So said so done. On the afternoon of my move, I asked if they had a table available (on the spot) which they did not hesitate to give me. The restaurant has 2 sections, the front is the largest. I was given a table at the back, as I'm assuming the other tables were reserved. The menu is vast, bright and colourful, with a touch of personal personality and the price points were within my budget, plus I was giving myself a treat. I ordered 4 dishes: 1. Pad Thai chicken & Ginger dish, which I thought came with noodles, but didn't 2. Crispy sweet and sour beef 3. Thai Green curry 4. Coconut rice This was accompanied by a medium size glass of Lemonade with a slice of Lemon for garnish. The Presentation was nicely served on white plates which made the colours of the food stand out. I had two waitresses, MiMi looked after me the most and frequently asked if all was well as I ate. I was quite hungry, so she said no rush. The decore in the back of the restaurant was embellished with potted plants, hanging from the ceiling with, faux red leather benched seating and whitewashed brick walls. Where I sat (at the back) felt slightly cut off from the main hub of the restaurant, which did affect my overall experience, albeit I was grateful to be given a table, at such short notice, so I reframed that circumstance. I could hear chatter in the busy kitchen, as takeaway orders, were going out, as well as seated reservations. BACK TO THE FOOD: All dishes were served hot and well presented. My Thai curry was in a bowl, that almost tipped over, not sure if that was my haste or the design of the bowl. This tasted exquisite. The flavours bounced around my pallet and the chicken was so succulent and morrish with a touch of heat! As I stated earlier, from the illustration on the menu I ordered Pad Thai, which I assumed was a noodle dish, yet when it arrived it was just chicken and ginger in a sauce. There must have been a miscommunication when I was making my order...Never mind, I had enough in front of me and wondered if "my eyes were too big for my belly"! The crispy beef was OK, a little chewy! and the coconut rice was a delight. All in all, I was full and the meal satisfied my hunger. In reflection, if I was to order all over again, I would have ordered x2 THAI GREEN CURRY and I would have been happy, The bill was brought to my table promptly, after I asked for it in a nice golden ornate-looking bowl, accompanied by two pearl mints (nice touch) Now for the hard part.." The Bill" I was pleasantly surprised to pay £38.35, that afternoon, excluding a service charge (not sure if that was because I was eating alone or what) If I were to give my whole experience of dining at Khunnai Thai Cuisine a mark out of Ten, I would grade it 7/10. Room for improvement: The decore in the back part of the restaurant, maybe some soft Thai music, Change the colour of the deep red Faux leather seating to something more tropical looking, Maybe an extension for outside dining, at the back (during summer) and a little less NaCl. Comments are given all in goodwill. Thank you for a tasty meal. I would definitely eat at Kuhnnai Thai Cuisine and bring my friends or family along...Next time I will book a table for the front of the restaurant, which appeared to be a more open-plan layout with a buzzing atmosphere.

First time i have eaten here and will be back went with four friends that had been before and recommended food was excellent and so was the service. my wife and i had a set meal as we where not sure what to order and made a great choose if you have not been before this is a good way to try several dishes.

The starters we ordered were all soggy. The spring rolls and won tons in particular were poor. The mains, red curry and spicy noodles, were okay but not worth the price.

We always loved ordering from Khunnai, but I must say this time we were very disappointed. We ordered the starter platter. And for £17 came box with most of the bits in it over done, chewy not crispy. It definitely was not worth the money. Which was very disappointing! The curry were nice, but different to other times. And pay over £3 for half a bag of prawn crackers was unacceptable.

The price is high and portions on small side (containers were approx half full) but taste was great

Always a lovely meal at Khunnai. There is a great selection of food to choose from. We've tried many of the dishes over the years and can't fault them. The staff are always pleasant and helpful.

Found this Thai many years ago regular visits never get tired of going staff are always the best friendly helpful and caring always made to feel special enjoy every visit as the first food is awesome our favourite place to be Staff are always do helpful and always go the extra mile to ensure they help us to have the best I always ask them to change my meal a bit and never too much trouble. Good and drink is well priced every visit is the best THANKYOU xxxx

Visited on Tuesday evening. The meal was superb and a varied menu to choose from. Staff very polite and helpful. Very reasonable priced food and drink. Car park a the back of the restaurant, but a bit hard to enter it. There is parking outside on the road and a public car park around 2 min walk away.

I don't like to leave negative reviews but felt I had to ,from reading previous reviews was looking forward to visiting took our two children on Friday night . The lady serving us was so miserable she made the visit really uncomfortable ,she didn't smile once ,she was very cold .Very strange also when she brought the food over she just held it there so we would put it in the table she didn't put one dish down herself on the table . Also the food wasn't the best and to top it of a bottle of savigion was £30 . The bill came to 115 for 2 adults two children I felt this was on the higher side for what we had and especially as the service was so poor .we will not be returning which we are gutted about as it would have been our local Thai and as thai is our favourite food we would have be regular customers unfortunately we will not be customers now .

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is amazing and so beautifully presented. Not only that Mimi from the restaurant was able to suggest dishes for us after taking the time to discover what flavours and food we enjoyed. Everything we chose was from the sharing starter with the amazing dips, the tamarind duck and seafood dish right through to the wine and service was impeccable. We are already planning our next visit.

Me and my family had a lovely evening out at Khunnai's Thai Restaurant. We were served by the lovely Mimi, she was so kind and polite and put up with our indecisive ordering! I had the delicious Panang curry with coconut rice. It was so falvourful and filling for a very good price. As well as this the service was impecablly fast and we didn't have to wait more the 3 minutes when we ran out of a bowel of rice. The atmosphere was so peaceful and complimented every part of the stay. Thoroughly recommend, will come again. 😁

We have been ordering from this restaurant since it opened and have to say the quality has gone right down hill! Tonight received half of a green curry but without the curry!! Just a bit of veg, portions have got smaller and smaller and the dips are so small you can’t even get any food in them. Unfortunately they have lost our custom now. Hopefully Elle will pick up on this before they loose more.

cosy restaurant located near the train station.if your a coconut fan like myself. i recommend ordering the coconut rice with a curry dish. staff very friendly and helpful. will defo be coming back. ,

Both the food and service were brilliant. We really liked the green curry. very authentic and close to the one that we had during our visit to thailand. I highly recommend this place.

The yellow curry was really nice but honestly the noodles where just poor

No bbq sauce delivered with the pancakes. Food was cold. Took a long time to deliver. Very expensive.

So desperately disappointing- the sticky rice was rock hard and inedible, the Thai curry was watery with very few prawns. Won't be ordering again from here.

Fast delivery and hot food but not very tasty. We ordered a few dishes and all were cooked but very bland. My chicken pad Thai only has a few pieces of chicken, chicken satay again no taste at all. Wouldn't say is awful but just lacking

I had heard good reviews so was really looking forward to my visit. I had fasted and was very hungry on arrival. Unfortunately we did not receive a warm welcome and very little in the way of service or interest. Staff were not visible for most of our visit. Due to an allergy we enquired and were told there were no carrots in the dish we ordered. It was served with a large carrot carving on the plate and the parcels also contained carrot. We removed these so as not to make a fuss. The fishcakes didn't have much flavour and were very squeaky to eat, did not seem at all fresh. Other dishes were Ok, but the chicken did not seem to have any flavour. I should have told the staff but did not feel they were that approachable. One dish tasted of nothing but salt and kept me drinking water for couple of hours afterwards - most unpleasant. At the end of the meal we were asked to pay cash as the machine was out of action, but we did not have enough to cover this. We were then asked to provide our card details so they could call another branch to make payment. We declined and asked for their details so we could make payment. Unfortunately I won't be repeating this experience unless someone tells me that the food and staff have changed. Customer service was non-existent and the quality of some of the food was not good at all. A shame as looking at reviews, some people do have a good experience here.

Pea aubergines in the green curry were just frozen peas. Singapore noodles were very soggy.

Such a shame, for the village, this used to be very good. Our starter platter was missing all the sauces, so everything very dry and tasteless. I phoned to complain and was told I would have to travel there again to collect the missing items, no offer of a small refund, so we had paid for items we didn't receive. My Mum had the 'Virgin Curry' which looked awful, not as per menu! It was in such a watery sauce, not mild and creamy. My PadThai was a solid block. We won't be using again.

We were lucky to get a table as many people were turned away tonight. The food was absolutely delicious, but the most outstanding thing was the lovely young man working in the restaurant he was absolutely enjoying his work, he made everyone feel special, not overbearing just charming. Ellie don’t let this one go he is a great asset and has a bright future ahead. If he was my son I’d be very proud of him.

Average. Not very hot. Pad tai a little tasteless and beef in massaman was cheap. Only 4 small bits of prawn toast for £6

Visited with my daughter and we had an excellent meal. Food was delicious and generous portions. Service was different class. Young Jake is not only super polite and very attentive, his knowledge of the different dishes in the menu is very impressive.
