Excellent meal before going to see Lulu at the Usher Hall which is just across the road. Very relaxed and unhurried.Jordan, our waiter was very friendly and attentive.

Very poor, needs an overhaul of housekeepimg proceedures, checks and measures. Rather dull interior, it has lost its appeal, location is great, but .... which are too many to liat.

Poor service, items missing from Scottish sharing platter. Very disappointing from a big name hotel.

Arrived at the bar waited 10 min. No one acknowledged or asked if we needed assistance. Poor show.

We went in advance of a show at the Usher Hall. The brasserie opened at 6:00 p.m. and we were there at that point. We ordered almost immediately from the set menu and all chose a main course and dessert. The first course took almost 45 minutes to arrive and we were advised by the waitress, only upon us prompting her, that there had been pre-orders made and that's why our food was delayed. Seemed a very odd and unreasonable excuse, particularly when we had to seek it; why should that be our problem when we arrive before anybody else? The portions could only be described as tiny. Not quite small, simply tiny. We agreed that it tasted ok but nothing special. The bill was £115 for three of us for two courses, one fizzy water and one coffee. It was a slow, laborious, instantly forgettable meal and an overall very poor experience for somewhere that tells us it's five star. Purely based on this visit, I would recommend you don't go and we will not return. The waitress was very polite and pleasant, everything else was at best mediocre and at worst totally unacceptable.

Dropped in for wine and a club sandwich (which were delicious) - just wanted to say that the staff were brilliant, despite having a busy (noisy) function in part of the bar, they made the effort to welcome and serve regular guests promptly and in a friendly, professional manner. Thanks!

Had a reservation at 730. Took an hour for entrees to arrive to the table and meat was undercooked. Waste of time and money

Great food and value for money. Something to discover when visiting Edinburgh. The cheddar souffle is incredible! And most of all, the service was amazing. We will definitely comeback.

I can’t thank the staff enough at One Square. My husband and I were gifted some vouchers to use for a 3 course meal and an afternoon tea at One Square. Both were delicious. I unfortunately fell ill on the day of our afternoon tea and the staff were so kind as to accommodate it and still ensure we had a great experience, and so I could experience the food when I felt better. During both of our times there, the restaurant was very quiet, however we did go mid week, and what would be considered “early” for the meal times. I can definitely recommend a trip to One Square for a lovely experience.

Attended one square brasserie for afternoon tea for the first time and probably the last to be honest and it was purely based on the service from reception. Turned up to reception opposite one square where we stood for 10 minutes before being greeted and then to be told to go to reception across at one square so not a good first impressions when left standing even though there was staff standing chatting at bar! Reception at one square I felt wasn’t what I would expect at this apparent level of hotel…i think more training required in terms greeting guests as I have experienced better at a 3 star hotel. She asked if we had a voucher which to me isn’t relevant at arrival stage (not that we did). customer service skills must be improved and wearing attire relevant In my opinion for type of venue too purely for first impressions and being front facing. our food arrived before even ordering drinks which was bizarre when having afternoon tea. The food was good, especially the sweet treats and they provided alternatives to fish which was great. i would give it a 7/10 for some of it. The overall service wasn’t too bad, lady serving us was very nice and quick to get anything we asked for. Expected a lot better from This venue! We have sampled afternoon teas from all over the world including other hotels in Edinburgh which have been a lot better overall with ambiance and service.

Just had a really nice experience at One Square Brasserie. Food was first class. Value for money and tasty. Service first class by all incl young Mr Og. How your staff still manage to smile after dealing with some rude and abrupt customers is a credit to them. Some people need a good look at themselves

Our reservation for afternoon tea was at 13.30, it was not busy at all, our teas arrived pretty promptly and we were advised that the sparkling tea will be aerved in between savoury and sweet dishes as palet cleanser, after over 30 min of no food arriving there was a fire alarm (not their fault) we were evacuated and when we returned we waited additional 15 or so min, we had to enquire about our food order as our tea was cold and we were start getting hungry. The savoury part eventually came, and it was very average, the best part was a potato tart, that was great, all the rest were very meh, the sandwich was cream cheese and avocado and there was far too much lemon, the bacon roll (not sure where that fits in an afternoon tea) was very dry. Food aside, once we finish we advised the staff that we were ready for the next part, 20+ min after nothing, I had to ask 2 separate people to see where is the rest of our afternoon tea (the sweet part), obviously no sign of our sparkling tea in between. Eventually our sweets arrived, once they arrived I had to asked about the sparkling tea. Unfortunately, the service was really not good and it seems they just had forgotten about us and noone came to apologise or explain why or what happened, one member of staff just said " I usually work at the dinner time I was just asked to come in". Very dissapointinf service from such establishment. Our afternoon tea experience was truly ruined, unfortunately.

I had an unfortunately poor meal at this restaurant. We love great food, quality, local produce and a finer spin on things, which we expected based on the menu but it didn’t deliver. The menu is small which I usually welcome because it means focus on quality but 2 of the 5 starter options weren’t available which was disappointing. The soup was in all honesty vile, there was zero seasoning or flavour and mains were just very average, again under seasoned and disappointing. A table near by were also discussing their disappointment of a dish so it was somewhat relieving to know it wasn’t just us. Our service was fine, although we didn’t express how disappointed we were because we weren’t asked even though most of our food wasn’t eaten. As we have reflected we felt a review was warranted, to sum up we would expect a lot more from any restaurant but considering price as well, it wasn’t good.

Wir hatten einen tolles Gin-Tasting mit Tibor in der One Square Bar am 23. April 2024. Tibor hat uns 4 verschiedene Gin präsentiert und uns sehr gut unterhalten und wichtige Informationen zum Gin und der Herstellung der Produkte gegeben. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden es wieder buchen.

David was the best bartender of our entire trip. Friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and best of all a fantastic mixologist. His pepper chocolate cocktail was a surprising and refreshing treat!

Was a bit quiet when we went but the staff were fab. We had an awesome afternoon tea, so much food we had to take home doggy bags 😁

Booked this restaurant as a birthday treat while staying nearby. Staff were friendly and attentive. The menu is small, but the food on offer is excellent and served quickly. We had the two course deal which was perfect for us. The staff brought through a plate of small bite size nibbles as a birthday treat which was appreciated. Would certainly come again for some fine dining.

We stayed at the Sheraton and booked a dinner reservation for the evening that same day. It was an amazing service with our server Rajeev being so thoughtful and caring.

If you are staying at the Sheraton then you have to dine here. The food and service are excellent. The cheese soufflé was so delicious! Great with their bread plate. The steak was possibly the best I’ve ever had. I’ve knocked 1 star off as it was a set menu, which I couldn’t understand. Ala Carte would have been preferable.

Returned again today for brunch. Food was lovely but service was a little rushed. ‐-----‐----------------------------------- Returned again for the first time in a few years. Lovely food and wine. Well worth a visit. ----------‐--------------------------- Brilliant tasting menu made from Scottish produce and accompanied with a matched Scottish drinks package. We decided after reading great review to try this restaurant, l am so glad we did. Our meal was outstanding, my partner had the fillet steak at a extra charge, was well worth it, cooked to perfection. My salmon was also a delight. We come from Edinburgh and dine a lot in lovely establishments, l can say this was one of them. Ambience was lovely and service great. Just want to say well done to Surajit Dasgupta and his team, was a lovely evening.

I took my friend here as a 40th birthday treat for afternoon tea, and we had a great time – I’m glad I chose this venue. I think it was one of the best afternoon tea’s I’ve had in Edinburgh – both food and service were really excellent The savoury items were all exceptional – delicious and not your standard cold sandwiches. Nice mix of tarts, pasties, and interesting filling with sandwiches; brioche bun with coronation chicken was the best, and salmon wit the caviar was a extra special touch. Cakes were lovely – Paris-Brest was the best. Lovely mix again of interesting flavours and techniques Tea menu was also worth a shout out – as some places you go the tea is quite standard, but it was a great menu, and lovely loose leaf teas All the staff were very attentive and looked after us well. Rajeesh especially went the extra length to check we were happy Overall – can’t fault the food and service It is expensive, but based on other places I’ve been – worth it

My daughter and I went to One Square to celebrate her 21st Birthday. Meals out are always more difficult as my daughter has a number of allergies. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful when we made enquiries and then our waiter Rajeev was excellent. He checked on all dishes with the chef to ensure they were free from the relevant allergens and was friendly, polite and very attentive. He even brought a special birthday treat for my daughter at the end, checked for ingredients again. The food was delicious and we both cleared our plates on all 3 courses. Portion sizes were perfect and the dishes beautifully balanced, and reasonably priced at £34 for 3 courses. Can't wait to go back again on a future visit to Edinburgh.

I had the Sunday roast on 28thJanuary along with 3 others . The service was very very slow even though there were only 3 other tables. The servers however were very polite and friendly . I had to send my soup back as it was not even luke warm. Coffee was the same. The actual Roast beef main was excellent and the sticky toffee pudding my partner had was delicious although small portion .

We were served for an evening meal by Rajeev Roy. He was amazing, so friendly. The food was really nice and the service provided by Rajeev was spot on. It is my birthday and he went above and beyond in getting something special for me. Would love to come back when we are next in Edinburgh. Thankyou!

They've launched an innovative new cocktail menu inspired by Edinburgh. The cocktail definitely captures the essence or the vibe of these Squares. 9 squares, 9 stories and 9 delicious cocktails. I tried the following cocktails: 🍹EH1 3BP - St James Square with whisky 🥃, Blackcurrant jam and blood orange 🍊 puree 🍸EH8 9XF - George Square with Tequila, Lemongrass syrup and Grapefruit bitters 🍹EH3 9SU - Festival Square with Rum, Pineapple 🍍 and Paprika Syrup and Grapefruit juice 🍸EH2 4QH - Charlotte Square with Grand Marnier Orange 🍊 liqueur, Peach 🍑 and hibiscus liqueur and Manzanilla sherry. 🍹Hunter Square where old meets news and their modern take on 'sex on the bwach'. We tucked into dishes predominantly off their Market Menu which run and change throughout the year. 2 courses for £29 3 courses for £34 One must have dish is the Cheese Souffle!! This incredibly light cheese souffle defies gravity. Extreme cheese 🧀 flavours from both the Souffle and surrounding delectable puddle of cheesy goodness. The vegetarian dish was incredible too and not a crumb was left. Ratatouille and mozzarella filo strudel with broccoli, green beans, garlic new potatoes with a roast red pepper and tomato sauce. Being a member of the spa we often come here for lunch. Everything has been fine until today. Usually the Caesar salad arrives in a large bowl with plenty of lettuce and a decent portion of salmon (a £5 supplement). Today the bowl was literally half the size with two tiny pieces of salmon. Maybe new management, but very disappointing. Lettuce is not expensive guys. This just feels like you are taking advantage.

They even gave me a birthday present. I was moved. Excellent under all points of view. Correct price.

Visited the restaurant for a festive Christmas Sunday lunch and to enjoy live jazz music and we were thoroughly disappointed with a number of things. There was a lack of Christmas decorations in the restaurant which took away our festive mood quite a bit. As for the "live" jazz band, the restaurant has managed to put them in a corner where nobody can see them!!! Now, what is the point of a live band if you cannot see them? Food was ok. Waiter was quite rude and insisted we get a bottle of wine when we were very clear we only wanted one glass. We had to wait a lot at the reception to be seated.

If you are looking for a fantastic dining experience, look no further because this place has it all! Our visit was to take in a birthday gift of afternoon tea at this superbly located venue, which turned out to be a Christmas themed delight! We were met by the delightful Rini, who showed us to our table & made us feel so welcome - as did all the staff members we encountered on the day - wonderful, warm people who really are a credit to Square One! The food we enjoyed on our visit looked fantastic & was as delicious as it promised to be. Our selections of savouries were amazing with a perfect combination of looks, textures & taste. So many times we have enjoyed afternoon teas in the past, but after a while the customary selection of three sandwich fingers begins to become predictable & dull. Not here though - not a sandwich in sight! Replaced with a savoury selection which have to be experienced to be believed! The sweets selection was every bit as amazing & included mini Santas with edible chocolate belts & macaron snowmen - amazing!

One Square resteraunt at the Edinburgh Sheraton Hotel Was a luscious meal and service!! So beautiful, understated and classy the moment I entered; I felt peaceful and welcome. Rita was main person/waitress.... she sat me. I was dead chuffed ... asked for a malbec and sparkling water upon being seated and voila! They appeared! The malbec was gorgeous. Worth the price... rich blackberry tones, beautiful legs and full bodied. Later I had a second glass! Susan took my order. I wished for a fish starter. She let me know of the x-mas fishcake I could order from the other wee menu. So I did and mussels for my mains. The look of the starter when it arrived was wonderful. Clean, simple and inviting.... first bite... beautiful explosion in my mouth. Truly. The crust around the fishcake -then the fish cake itself- then the goodies underneath... fresh and crunchy...i was delighted. Susan came and asked straight away how it was and i adore this! Exactly how a 5 star place ought be. Check check with customer after a plate of anything put down. It really won my heart AND i was able to share my sincere joy of my first bite of this sumptuous starter. You may think I'm going on.... go try it. Truly. Oh and lest not forget the colour of the bowl once you finish. Deep muted blue like how the ocean looks underwater!!!! Rest of the time and meals were great too. Sauce and mussels were superb. Loved the portion size of the mussels. Each mussel was open and tasted very full of flavour. Morish. For me the buoancy came from the wee side salad. It was outa sight! Small and mighty! Light a little masterpiece. Mainly Rita was my waitress. It got busy as the evening went on. I appreciated so much the smooth gliding and calm of all the staff. Rita was graceful,kind and genuine. She collected and replaced cutlery at her station quietly and gracefully. This is a skill.... really... it can be jarring when eating in a place and the staff clatter the cutlery and dishes. Rita was superb at keeping the atmosphere. This cannot be understated.... I felt seen and cared for and that it was important in giving a lovely experience to the me and other diners. Both listened so so well. Made my visit lovely. Susan was able to set my mains 20 + mins apart as I requested. I eat very very slowly and like a long langiud time when I eat out at 5 stars restaurants. So exceptionally pleased... Ok... another fabby thing... sorbet!!!!! I like sorbet at the end of my meals. I saw it was part of one of the dessert. I asked Rita if i could possible have 2 scoops on their own. "Of course" she says. It was Cherry flavour! And it was divine! And flowed and married perfectly with my malbec. Full circle! Equally wonderful was Rita, like Susan, getting it that I like everything at a very slow pace. Rita organised that my sorbet arrive when I felt to ask for it. And she came with 2 size spoons to prep my table. Asked if I'd prefer a small spoon or a large spoon? Tremendous.... choice! Small spoon please. This thoughtfulness made me so happy. Rita is marvelous. Thankyou One Square in the Sheraton Grand Edinburgh for a stunning "SOLA" evening. I'd been to see Elgar at The Usher Hall. I had not really liked it but One Square made the day shine.

Went for Afternoon Tea to the Sheraton Edinburgh, with my friend for her birthday, Helen was our waiteress, she is studing Hospitality. Service was excellent, Helen very polite , they served sandwiches,quiche,scotch egg,chicken pate followed with non alcohol prosecco with jasmine to cleans palate ,before we had scones,gateau,cheescake,macaroons & cream sponge & jasmine tea, which was all very delicious & of course all washed down nicely with a bottle of Pinot Grigio, we would highly recommend a visit to The One Square

Excellent service from Rimi from start to finish. Food delicious apart from the dark Turkey meat ( personally I didn't like the look of it on top of the lovely white meat) all the trimmings were lovely. Rimi provided a lovely treat as it was an anniversary lunch which was very much appreciated

Absolutely delicious food available at the buffet. We stayed in the Sheraton and it was the perfect environment with so many options. Delicious! Helen was amazing every morning making sure we had everything we needed through-out the meal.

This is a fantastic breakfast experience! Excellent Haggis and Black Pudding …. But great smoked fish, fruits, bread, cheeses and hot egg dishes. Highly recommend! Helen is also an outstanding server!!!

We arrived in Edinburgh suffering from jet lag. Instead of looking for some local cuisine we decided to drop in at the hotel restaurant her at the Sheraton. It was our good fortune to have Rajeev Roy as our server. What a lovely gentleman. Rajeev advised us on different menu selection and served us quickly.. Our before dinner beverages were wonderful, the food hot and spectacular. Of course our approval of the food was tempered with our enjoyment of meeting Rajeev. Then, bonus time! Our group had a planned dinner the second night and Rajeev led the service team. Rajeev was so attentive to each persons needs. There were 20 of us! If you come to Edinburgh be sure to stop in and check out Rajeev!

The hotel bar at One Square has a great selection of drinks and really high quality bar food and coffee, so much better than battling your way into a sweaty pub or chain coffee shop on the street.

Me, my partner and two of our friends enjoyed a very elegant Afternoon Tea at the Sheraton a couple of weeks ago. Both the savouries and the sweets were beautifully presented and delicious. Service by Yoanna was attentive and she made sure we are well looked after. We always recommend the Sheraton as our go to place and with good reason!!

We came with a group of friends who really know their liquor and we were blown away with how much we learned about gin! The gin tasting was well structured to help you understand all the botanicals and how they work with different mixers. You should 100% add this to your Edinburgh itinerary. Haneen was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience so fun. Thank you Haneen for one of our best experiences in Scotland!

I don’t really like afternoon tea so thought we would try out the new, champagne lunch. Two options, a glass of champagne or a half bottle. First served a fruit, pastry and granola platter, then a choice of main. I had eggs florentine which were the best I’ve had. We went for the one glass of champagne option which was £25 per head for the champagne, platter and main. Excellent value will for what you got, will definitely go back. Staff very attentive, friendly and warm.

Afirra was vey friendly and lovely. Her work ethic was very professional *chefs kiss*. The steak was really good. Haven't had a steak so juicy and cooked to perfection like that in awhile. Would definitely pay another visit!!!
