Omars in Bradford

We called in before the theatre last night with so little time ( due to parking app problems) …the staff were so understanding reassured us they would serve us quickly and they certainly did and the food was absolutely delicious..thank you so much we will call again when we have more time to try our more of your amazing dishes

So much choice on the menu, the staff helped with a nervous/picky 5 year old. The Naans! So big and super tasty too! Really really impressed and would visit again if we were local.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I went to this restaurant alone, and since they were fully booked, they offered me a seat at what looked like their own staff table. I appreciated the gesture initially and thought maybe the food would make up for the informal setup. I ordered a potato paratha for £5 — sounds simple, right? What I got was a sad, dry, and almost empty piece of flatbread with hardly any trace of potato in it. No flavour, no spice (even though I specifically asked for it), nothing remotely close to what you’d expect from a proper stuffed paratha. It honestly felt like something they’d just thrown together without any care. I politely mentioned the issue, expecting maybe a remake or even just an apology. Instead, the response was incredibly rude: “Eat it or don’t pay.” Not only was the food a joke, but the attitude was even worse. I felt completely dismissed and unwelcome — as if I was the problem for pointing out that I didn’t get what I paid for. This place might survive on hype or regulars, but if you’re someone who actually cares about decent food and respectful service, I’d strongly suggest going elsewhere. There are plenty of places that serve real, flavourful parathas without treating you like a burden. Definitely not returning, and definitely not recommending to anyone.

Worst ever takeaway ordered masala fish and they got me with curry full of onions and tomatoes with too much orange food colour and tasteless. Never going to make any order again ever.

My go to restaurant for a beautiful chicken masala with that roti bread. Ufff.

I went on Google whilst visiting bradford to look for a good balti house - the establishment next door was higher rated and initially this is where I visited but I wasn't happy with the look of the menu so came here (happily - as balti is my favourite) when I got there I was seated at the front of the restaurant with a group of men whilst another group were at the back this divided the noise and meant I heard the guys nearest who were swearing in conversation. I asked the waitress for if they do small nanny breads she said yes but when it came it was huge which is good if u want a big one - I didn't. The nanny bread however was the star of the show, the pilau rice had cinnamon in the balti dishes in Bradford and Leeds are not as nice as the Birmingham (original I thought - apparently not according to omars menus) direction balti houses. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great 3/5

Great curry, rice and especially naan breads. Open late and ideal for after the pub or theatre.

One star is quite generous considering the poor manners, and lack of hospitality shown. I’m quite unsure how Omar’s has managed to amass a 4.4 star review in total …

Went for a curry before going to the theatre. Was a Monday night, so very quiet. Food was lovely, naan bread was HUGE!! Bring your own booze.

Lovely food- we've tried most things on the menu now but best of everything (for me) is onion bhaji side dish and sharing a giant fluffy and well cooked naan, it's huge!!! My only 2 issues are 1) car parking -really difficult as I have mobility disability and never any available close by and 2) Toilet facilities are down spiral stairs - no good at all for me, so just remember a quite visit to the bathroom at home before we leave and as long as I don't drink too much, I can wait until I get back home. Definately worth a visit though, we love it! Thank you team

Went back to Omar's, as they had promised a free curry for over charging the last time. They were apologetic and service great. Food was amazing and the bill was correct. Great city center restaurant.

Good food, poor service ! I was so disappointed with the service today. 3/4 tables occupied, but service was slow and poor, with no enthusiasm or attention. The staff did not give good service, or check to see if everything was okay. Totally poor and needs improvement.

Today ordered panner karahi from this restaurant i eat in the restaurant one time it was good but today I ordered online on uber eats and they send mix vegetable with 4 5 pieces of panner. How good they are after that called him the person on landline asked me to wait he said i can check then he cut the call. This is their service to customers never recommend anyone to waste their money on them.

Omars is famous for it's enormous naans but also the curry's are really good. We had pickle tray to start whilst not the best was ok then a couple of there special curry's lamb & fish that were really good & of course a naan bread. Staff were very friendly and asked us if we were going to theatre so could get things sorted faster that I thought was a nice touch. Would definitely go again 👍

We had a great time. The service was very kind, very informative about the plates, and full of personalized recommendations. The food was on point. The flavor was just perfectly balanced, and intense as expected from original Kashmiri cuisine. The place's vibe is very warm and feels like home. We are definitely coming back!

That was worst food ever had. I have ordered meat masala which was sweet in taste, ordered biryani which wasn’t fresh at all. It tasted like it was day old. They just warmed up the food and give it away plus when we called one of the girl was very rude and communication skill was zero. Avoid at all cost. Don’t waste ur money.

After my 10 years I came back to o mar hotel which they have maintaining same taste and same atmosphere as well all most all the dishes are amazing

Omg! I visited Bradford for work, I randomly searched for an Indian that was open at 10pm on a Sunday. I ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka biriyani and potato pakoras. I was confused when I opened the package because there was a giant looking burrito like thing, it turns out it was the garlic naan 😂 perfectly cooked and the biggest portion I’ve ever had! The Biriani was delicious, perfect texture and taste, the meat was great quality and well cooked. The pakoras were delicious despite being cold and not as crispy as they would have been should I have ate when they were hot. I ate the food around 2am so 4 hours after I bought it. Anyway when I am next in Bradford I will be back and will try some other dishes ❤️ thank you!

We had a lovely curry at Omars last night. My husband's Jalfrezi was delicious and I had two starters which tasted amazing. The lady who was served us was very sweet and attentive too. Thank you Omars!

Every time I eat in it is a gull 5 star. HOWEVER... For the first time I ordered for delivery... Firstly they didn't accept the order 9n just eat I had to call and tell them to turn the machine on given I'd already been charged. Then... Not only did the screw up my order but it took me 2 hours for them to answer the phone and for them to tell me there is nothing they can do to fix the issue. So I'm now left with food I can't eat from a restaurant that won't help! My impression of here has seriously dropped from 5 stars to 2 star

Omars - A Lovely, immaculately clean restaurant just behind the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford. The staff are fabulous- nothing is too much trouble. We had : Poppadoms and pickle tray for 2, Omars mixed Kebab and Meat samosas. We shared everything on the mixed kebab as there was more than enough for 1 and shared then shared the delicious crispy- not oily samosas. As if that wasn't enough we ordered the Omars Special curry with additional mushrooms- every item in this curry sang its own song, the flavours were excellent!! I have never had a more delicious curry and believe me, living Bradford for 60+ years, I've had a few!. My husband ordered Chicken Achari for his main course, he too enjoyed every delicious mouthful. Our mains were accompanied by the most amazingly light, fluffy and crispy based naan we've ever seen and one "normal naan covered allmost half of our table for 4!! Jug of sweet plain Lassi finished us off- literally. The lovely lady serving us was beautiful in her manner and most helpful in choosing our food, we couldn't have asked for anything more at all. Thank you so much Omars, we had a wonderful relaxing, tasty and not at all expensive meal- coming in at just over £40 for all of the above- what more can you ask for?? VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Currently in a food coma! I stayed in Bradford for work and wanted a proper Bradford curry, and Omars did not disappoint. I had the Omar's Special and a garlic naan, and the pictured naan which is pillowcase sized is the standard! I took half my curry and 3/4 of my naan home, and ordered another curry to take back with me because I had all this naan and it was so delicious. I also brought my own wine which was no problem at all, and the waitress and the owner were very lovely without feeling like I was being intruded upon. I'm excited to eat Omar's at home for the next 2 days 😂 and I'll be back for more soon!

Just as good as I remember it! I used to come here with my boyfriend (now husband) whilst we were at uni (around 2004). The curries are still absolutely delicious and the naan breads are still huge! Excellent value for money and the staff are friendly and attentive. Also, right up the road from the Alhambra theatre and not far from Broadway shopping! We will definitely be visiting again - thanks so much for the fond memories 💜 No more purple carpet though! 😂

Found this place on a Saturday night.. the service was quick and friendly, and the food was absolutely gorgeous. This place said it has the best naan in Yorkshire and I definitely wouldn't argue. Totally recommend.

Balti house just out of the city centre. BYOB with no corkage charges . Superb food all round but big thumbs up for the lamb chops. Good prices & excellent staff . Will definitely be going again. Quick tip . You might be wise to book a table no matter what time you go . We went a 6pm & got the very last table.

Dining alone on a work trip Omars didn't feel as intimidating as other nearby restaurants, but as it was the food was exceptional. Absolutely recommend it. I had Meat multani, which was succulent, exceptionally flavoursome with a rich sweet undercurrent that made the meat really sing. It was sizzling hot in the balti, with a delicious crispy edge like you get on paella. Even though I was on my own I found myself making happy foodie noises anyway it was so good!

Omar's is no longer the affordable curry restaurant I remember. The price raise is unjustified and £10.90(raise from £7.90) for a basic curry is just too much. If you never been to Omars definitely give it a go and try their Naan bread- best in Bradford. I don't think I will be coming back as there are so many curry places that are cheaper and just as good.

Tried Omars for the first time tonight, and definitely won't be the last. I usually grade my curries based on the quality of the chicken and the quality of the ingredients here was perfect. I had the Chicken Tikka Balti Masala and it tasted incredible. Really friendly service, great tasting food and all at a good price. Thank you :)

I live a few hours away from Bradford, but every time I visit we always go to Omar's for a meal and it never disappoints! From the great service from my waitress, who was extremely welcoming and kind, the atmosphere of the restaurant and other diners as well as the delicious food and the value for money - absolutely nothing beats this food establishment and I would definitely recommend anyone to come and dine here at least once. Omar's deserves to be recognised for much more than just their huge naans! I look forward to dining here again on my next visit.

Amazing food as always. My daughters grew up in Bradford (19 and 15) and now live in London and see me every month. When they come up, they want a proper curry as cannot get a decent one down south! They always ask to come here. Staff are friendly, attentive and you can take your own alcoholic drinks if you wish. I will continue to bring my daughters here everytime they come up because they enjoy it so much 😊

They don’t know how to make butter chicken.First time I have seen green peppers in butter chicken with no sauce . Also they don’t have hand wash in their toilet , the bottles are filled with water . Absolutely disappointed

Great that they still have the huge notorius naan as a draw to people (pretty much 2 1/2ft diameter). However the curry was average with little depth in flavour, slight improvements needed. Great staff, clean and just how I remember it!
