Olympus Kebab House in Edinburgh, City of

Grabbed a late-night mixed kebab (lamb doner and chicken doner) from Star Kebab and Pizza House on Leith Walk. The kebab came with fresh lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and was generously topped with garlic sauce. The sauce was everywhere. Definitely not a drizzle—more of a full lathering—but I didn’t mind, since it was actually pretty nice. It was subtly garlicky, not too thick or creamy, and not overly vinegary either. A bit more punch wouldn’t hurt, but overall, it worked well. The chicken doner was the highlight. Juicy with a bit of tang, and it paired great with the garlic sauce. The lamb was decent too, though maybe a touch overcooked. The bread was fresh and did its job well. This is the kind of food that hits the spot after a night out. Hearty and satisfying. I went in around midnight, so they were probably getting ready to close. The staff weren’t especially chatty or friendly-looking, but they weren’t rude either. Just focused on getting things done. Final Score: 8/10. Solid late-night kebab. Good flavours, generous portion, and worth a visit if you’re in the area and hungry after hours. Will post a pic too. Just don’t judge the looks—it tasted better than it looked.

Visited this place 2 days ago. Really enjoyed the tasty and Delicious food. We had actually ordered the Mix platter and it was yummy.

Don’t know how people think this is the best if this is the best I’d hate to see the worse. Had a mixed meat and chips the dinner was like rubber and tasteless and the chicken nest was hard and dry orders large portion and now way was it a large will also had a cheeseburger which was like rubber the best but was the bap it came in

Star Kebab in Edinburgh has been my go-to late-night spot for ages — and for good reason. Their pepperoni pizza is consistently tasty, with a great balance of cheese, sauce, and a nicely crisp base. But the real stars of the menu are the chicken donner and chicken shish — absolutely packed with flavour, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and always satisfying. It’s honestly one of the best takeaways in the area, especially when you’re after something delicious late into the night (they’re open till 1am during the week, which is a huge bonus). The only downside — and it’s a big one — is that they’ve sadly lost their license, which is such a shame. It’s upsetting to lose their licence that’s been so reliable and consistently good. Here’s hoping they get their late licence — Edinburgh nights just aren’t the same without them.

Affordable eats, greats eats and great price! I was looking for a filling meal that was tasty and this happened to be walking distance from my hotel. I got a cheeseburger, fries, and meal combo and it was incredibly filling. Definitely would recommend to people who don’t want to spend to much. Especially university students or tourists!

Best Kebab in town, full stop. Price is great and they load up that box. The garlic sauce is incredible on everything, but I’m in a fight with my mate over if the lamb or chicken kebab is best. It’s a small business and the owner is always very involved. He’s spoiled me once or twice, just from being a regular.

After trying countless kebab shops across Edinburgh, my husband and I can confidently say this place is an absolute standout. It’s the perfect combination of exceptional quality and reasonable prices, something that’s incredibly rare to find. While many kebab shops are either overpriced or underwhelming in taste, this one strikes the perfect balance. The food never disappoints. The meat is always fresh, flavourful, and perfectly prepared every single time we order. One thing we always pay attention to is the salad, as it’s often a good indicator of the overall quality which reflects the care and effort that goes into the entire meal. We always order through Uber Eats instead of visiting the shop, even though it’s quite far from where we live. Delivery usually takes 40-60 minutes, but it’s absolutely worth it. Despite the distance and the fact that we often order late at night, (ordered once at 3:00AM in the morning) the food always arrives fresh and delicious, exceeding our expectations every single time. This place has become our go-to for kebabs, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly exceptional meal!

All the food was soggy and the lamb tasted rubbery and very cheap. I’ve never had kebab that badly. The salads were delivered in very weird plastic baggies that looked like miniature garbage bags. There was no sauce for anything including the salad.

I had an awful experience at this kebab shop. First off, the food was ridiculously overpriced for what you actually get. The portion of kebab and chips was tiny—more like a snack than a meal. To make matters worse, they charge extra for a drink! Seriously? For the price, I expected a lot more. It left me hungry and annoyed. Save your money and go somewhere else—I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve been going to Star for many years, and always found it to be decent quality and good value. I was in tonight for the first time in a while and had chips, cheese & donner - which cost £10.00. It felt light when the guy handed it over and I almost said something, but thought I was maybe imagining it. Sure enough though, when I got home I realised the portion was indeed very small. I ended up going out for more food about an hour later! I’ll give it one more chance in case this was a one-off, if not I’ll be finding another ‘local’!

We bought chicken pizza but it was burned and One Morocco guy was very rude and he was starting me as well (Customer rating is zero) and good thing is one indian guy treated me good and kind

If i write avoid this place , that may appear as forcing my opinion , instead condensing truth , as damaged ex army medic and service dog we needed good meal , entered shop repeated order twice , large donner kebab salad and chilli sauce , when i got back to accomodation and opened container ? ... !!!! mint sauce instead of chilli sauce , result dog had food i went hungry , complained with trader and google review they then offered refund + kebab + pizza !!!!! WHICH STAR KEBABS HAVE NOT HONOURED , these words are spoken without emotion

I’ve ordered from STAR twice before and it was excellent, tonight was not as good - quite a bit less. Not sure why as previous orders were excellent. I’ll give them another try as it might have been an off night for whatever reason.

Best takeaway food in whole Edinburgh.

I have been going to Star Kebab for a few months now and it’s always such a fun atmosphere and good pizza. I’ve been taught how to make kebabs, I’ve had a laugh with staff after a night out as they are open pretty late which makes a great place to stop to get food. Brilliant and fair prices for the quality. Hamied is always a lot of fun and always having a laugh with you. Couldn’t rate it higher, lot of memories from nights out at the legendary Star Kebab.

Freshly made pizza at a very reasonable price

Doner meat and chips. The meat was disgusting and the ‘chilli’ sauce I asked for was a weird and watery combination of mint sauce and something else I can’t describe. Absolute rip off for £8.50 Ate a bit, threw the rest in the bin and got a better one from down the road.
