A very good variety of mouth-watering cakes and bakes. Lovely staff and nice food. The long queue behind you can be a bit intimidating when it’s your turn to order already if you haven’t been able to make up your mind by then. As a vegetarian, I always struggle with choices for breakfast so a special thanks to the lovely staff member who suggested a cheese scone and assured that it was definitely eggless as she had baked it herself that morning. That was just what I wanted to hear and saved me from going hungry that morning. Thank you, the scone was delish!

I had forgotten all about this Coffee Shop plus more. But then we remembered it from our last visit to Sherborne three or more years ago. Not much has changed - unlike so many other coffee shops that were driven out of business as a result of Covid. The same great coffee was served along with very well made cakes (Victoria Sandwich and Florentine in our case) which we enjoyed for our morning break. We then returned for a late lunch of roasted vegetable quiche and salad. Nicely presented and served. This is a place to returned to. Why wait another three years?

A very popular cafe, pleased to find that it was still open after visiting several years ago. This cafe has a communal vibe which is really welcoming, if a little different to chain style coffee shops. Apricot flapjack was delicious but you must have a fork and a napkin to consume as was very crumbly!

I visited Oliver with my children and a friend. I always head for the back of the cafe when visiting dur to the family time seating. My children aged 7 were being treated to cakes and milkshakes. We had gone into a booth. Due to their childlike intrigue and curiosity they pulled back the curtain between the two booths to be met with a stern tone to put the curtains back as they were about to film. I presume this was management being filmed and recorded. Unsure why this was taking place during the day when customers are making use of the cafe. It says a lot when you don't greet customers kindly or understand the demograohic. There are ways of saying things and this should have been directed to me as the adult and not to my children. As I said in my response, I was just getting them to put it the curtain back. The approach was rude, hostile, poor and unwelcoming. I have lived in sherborne all my life and have visited Olivers on numerous occasions. I was very disappointed by what I experienced today and will be avoiding Olivers furthermore. I will select another cafe in this beautiful town where we all can feel welcomed.

Oliver's looks warm and welcoming in the front of the cafe, less atmosphere in the back rooms. The cutlery was dirty (4 attempts to find a clean knife and fork), the sauce bottles were sticky and the salt cellars blocked. The sandwich was barely buttered and the salad tasted fishy, very disappointing.

Bags of character and atmosphere - the main area where you walk in has a huge communal table which is great with several areas at the rear with individual tables. It all needs sprucing up a bit however - some sticky uncleared tables and a generally weary feel. Food is simple - baguettes, sandwiches and cakes , all OK , but no more than that. I found a ceramic baking bean in my quiche that nearly broke a tooth. Not being part of a chain is wonderful these days but it’s needs new batteries and a few tweaks. I’m obviously not alone in thinking this.

Lovely lunch and great side salad. Sadly too full to try the cakes but they looked awesome and a good range, certain not your normal restricted choice. Will certainly be going back. Made up of 3 rooms each with a long table plus little alcoves. A small step from front room to back but lots of handles to hold on to. Although not wheelchair accessible through the whole rooms each level has entry points at front, middle and back. My husband is a mobility scooter user, parked outside and managed well. Order at till but staff happy to carry anything to your table. Finally, also dog friendly 🐶❤️🍰

Independent cafe that's in a perfect spot, attracts plenty of tourists, and offers home-made cake. But it's a bit grubby and pricey, and could be better. Despite there being lots of staff, the floor is unswept and the tables are unwiped... and the dishcloth on the side is filthy. You'll pay £6 for a cheddar sandwich, but add 50p more if you'd like pickle with that. One customer asked if they could have cream on their coffee and was abruptly told "no." Another customer returned from the toilet complaining about the filthy sink and no toilet paper. It feels like it could really use a deep clean, some tlc and perhaps some staff training.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered a ham and cheese ciabatta to share, coffee and hot chocolate, and a couple of cakes. Staff were nice. Food was okay. Ciabatta was average or a little greasy. Cake selection was decent but cakes underwhelming. Coffee was very nice, but hot chocolate was a little disappointing. The seating is different, with one large table and a few shallow alcoves. Interesting idea but slightly impractical. Otherwise it’s a very pretty shop. Overall was a bit of a disappointment given the great reviews!

We decided to have lunch here as the queues were out the door which we took as a good sign. The seating arrangement is quite strange just lots of long tables you have to share and squeeze round which isn’t ideal with covid but I can imagine is nice if it’s quieter, we did come on a Saturday. The food was quite disappointing for the price, toastie/ciabatta soggy and no garnish or anything else on the plate. Cutlery and sauces system wasn’t made clear as some people got cutlery some didn’t and we ended up working it out ourselves. Staff not wearing masks which was off putting considering signs asking customers too- bit hypocritical

Almond slice and coffee fine. Sat outside to eat and drink, however, all the tables had dirty cups and plates on them. I moved a lot from the table I wanted to sit at, and started to eat and drink. About five minutes later a lady came to collect everything, she glared at me as if I had left all of them, she didn’t smile or speak, just cleared the tables and left. Then, from a shed with a wide open door opposite my table came a very loud noise, like a fridge or freezer starting up and it did not stop. I ate and drank quickly and left never to return. Carol
