Olive Tree Brasserie Leeds in Leeds

We chose this restaurant for lunch as it had a good choice of menu. We had been to Greece last summer and thought it might bring back memories oftge lovely meals we had there. Not a chance. I have to agree with some of the other reviews the vegetarian moussaka was bland and plate of mush but burnt on the bottom. The meat moussaka my partner had wasn’t much better. The presentation was really poor. It felt like it was just slopped on the plate. We definitely wouldn’t recommend it and we will definitely not return!

So many things wrong, first time visitors and will not be coming again. Booked very far in advance yet on arrival was seated in a corridor on a weird corner seat that was very cramped, similar to what a bar seat is like. Strange as the restaurant was less than half full on our arrival and on our departure. Because of this our service was very slow and the manager kept having to radio for someone to serve us. We were by the stairs for the kitchen so the hallway was used by staff to rearrange dirty plates, catch up for a chat etc. so we felt very much in the way. When people did come over there were promises to return but no one ever did, for example only half our plates being cleared away. Food was very average. We got the mixed grill and it was warm but had no seasoning. We used the salt and pepper on the table for flavour but not what you would expect with a Greek restaurant. After we paid, we visited the toilets but these were very dirty. The womens had all sorts of rubbish including fake nails that had been flicked off and batteries? I’m glad we went to the loo on the way out and not before as I wouldn’t have eaten. All but one loo was broken so people were sent back upstairs to use the disabled. Overall not a very good date night. Would not recommend. Expensive for what it is. I’ve had better Greek food in mall food courts.

I visited here for lunch recently as the menu seemed quite promising, lots of options for meat and veg lovers. Service was really good, the building is really nice. The food wasn't the best i found. Calamari was soggy, as were some of the other starters we got. The main vegetarian moussaka was really bland, it was just like a patty of mushed food and was quite unappetising. The kebab we ordered was nice. The sweet potato tagine only had one piece of sweet potato in, and the sauce was just a basic tomato sauce and lacked flavour. The Halloumi fries were really good. Drinks were nice. I'm glad we got the food on a discount as I wouldn't have paid full price for that.

Visited as a family and the food was amazing. We took advantage of the 50% off offer. Service was very good. Would definitely visit again.

The food was very poor, we ordered the mixed grill sharing platter (£49) and had to wait over one hour for it after our starters (garlic mushrooms) which were nice. The mixed grill (for two) was basically two kebabs and a pile of chips. The chips were cold! The waiter was friendly but unfortunately due to the delays and the food we will not be rushing back!

I have visited your restaurant multiple times over the last few months with my partner and your food is outstanding which also reflects in your staff and how they deliver excellent customer service! Many times I have been served my Aaron and he’s a lovely lad and always goes out of his way to make sure we have the best experience and will always recommend something to us whether we have had it before or if it was completely new to us. Aaron is a asset to your team.

Always love to come in to the Olive tree when I’m in the area! This time came in for the Festive menu and again was blown away, the turkey kebab gives a different style on a Christmas dinner, which was extremely tasty! Very good food. Came here on a business Christmas lunch. They were very attentive and helpful as I understand catering for a table of 8 can be difficult. Service was fast and prompt. The food was delicious. The Meli Feta was great. Can’t find any faults really. Will definitely be returning.

We booked based on the trip advisor reviews and it did not disappoint. The decor in the restaurant is lovely and it had a very welcoming atmosphere. The sharing meze was great, really good value for money. The only part we weren’t fussed on was the sausage, I’ve been to Greece many times and not come across this, it was like a poor chorizo with lots of gristle. We did have to ask for water and our bill twice, the waitresses seemed overwhelmed with the amount of bottomless brunch tables in. However they were always friendly and polite. I’d definitely like to come back and try bottomless brunch, it looks fab!

Having spent the morning in the Leeds city centre with my wife headed for Greek Street for Lunch. Having looked about found this establishment and so glad we did. Great Staff Great atmosphere Good produce Well cooked and presented Reasonable pricing Not really sure what more you could ask of a restaurant Well worth a visit

We chose Olive Tree Brasserie Leeds for our Departmental business away day, we had their downstairs area privately allocated for our day. The food, the drinks and the staff were all amazing. Food was good, nothing special if I’m honest but ok for casual dining. Drinks were the best bit. A little annoyed that adding a 12.5% service charge and an extra £1 to plant a tree was not mentioned on the menu OR made optional and was automatically added to the bill. When will managers realise that we order less food and drinks with service charges! Or maybe they did which is why is not mentioned….. Unethical.

Came here for food after a day of shopping - amazing atmosphere and gorgeous food, we had the mixed grill for two so we got a bit of everything Greek! Tons of options on the menu which all sounded amazing, and everything we had was delicious including the Tanini Brownie. Both drinks we had were great too. Service from Frankie was brill, couldn’t ask for any better. Will be coming back soon!

Wow ... so many Mastiha (mastika) bottles on the shelf behind the bar ... and as my family is from Chios where Mastiha is from I was amazed to see this, yes it's a Greek restaurant but not all Greek restaurants serve Mastiha.... I tucked straight into a Mastiha mojito cocktail and Rita had a French martini .... lovely and well made. Then the food came out which was fantastic.. a platter for 2 beautiful and tasty. I can't say enough about the service, everyone was welcoming and chatty great service ... I even went and thanked the Chefs downstairs 😊

The food was not up to the standards of other Greek restaurants we go to. The dips were strange tasting. The moussaka was not hot so we returned it and they brought back a hit vegetarian moussaka. Service a bit slow and the team need to be managed better. Sorry to be negative.

A fantastic place for a meal - stunning venue, fabulous atmosphere, scrumptious (and very filling food) and the most fantastic, patient and attentive staff who can't do enough to ensure you have a wonderful visit - even with a table full of allergy requirements and awkward family members to cater for! Very extensive menu with full allergy information clearly displayed. Quite possibly the best selection of gluten free, vegan and dairy free dishes to please everyone in the family no matter how fussy! Tavis (our waiter) really went above and beyond to make our meal and visit perfect - thank you. We will definitely be back to enjoy even more of the mouth watering dishes on the menu!

Wouldn’t have written a review but it annoys me when restaurants incentivise positive reviews as it’s misleading paying customers. The service was fine but not quite in line with the price point. Food was okay but again, not in line with the prices. Atmosphere and decor is good but it was cold.
