Olive in Corby

We went last night before the fireworks as a group of 15 , the service was great!! And everyone enjoyed their meals the food was lovely!! Will definitely be back

I’m half-Greek and been here a few times. The food is beautiful but I have had some very bad meals here too. On one occasion, we visited the day after our wedding for a celebratory meal and both had ‘Tipsy Tapas’ but the houmous was awful and tasted, carbonated… So was likely ‘gone off’. As a Greek, I have never tasted anything like this before. The gyros taste authentic Greek and are very delicious, although it is concerning that none of the staff know how to pronounce ‘gyros’ considering it’s a Greek / Mediterranean restaurant 😩 it does grind my gears! For reference, it is NOT pronounced ‘jy-ros’. It is ‘yeer-os’. It does make me question if the chefs have ever visited Greece before. I would always avoid ordering Pork Gyros as the pork is always dry and overcooked, so advise ordering halloumi or chicken! Totally unrelated, but I wish the girls wouldn’t wear skirts so short, it’s very unprofessional and on one of our most recent visits you could see her underwear. As a female, this does make me feel uncomfortable for the waitresses and - and means that I would not bring my family here. Maybe something a bit more conservative would be appropriate!

A mixed group of us came here after walking through the lovely woods to and around the boating lake and back. There were 18 of us. We had booked well in advance and when we arrived at 12.15pm the long table was ready for us, with very welcome iced water in jugs on the tables . The food choice, which is Mediterranean is quite big but everything was cooked to perfection. A big thank you to a chef to be proud of. The desserts!! Well! What can I say! They were sublime.. Tiramachoux. Tropical pavlova and lots of others. Prices were reasonable. The French Sauvignon was the best I’ve tasted!! They also specialise in cocktails and mocktails.. Alll of our group were delighted with the choice of restaurant I have been here a few times and it never disappoints, but this was the best yet. Service was efficient, professional yet friendly. I know they have live music on some afternoons and evenings too. A huge thank you to the manager, chef and staff

What an amazing place! I'm a vegetarian celiac so have a choice of virtually zero when I go out to eat and when I do have a choice on the menu it's usually a jacket potato. I had lots of choice here and the food I had here was outstanding and I have high standards when it comes to food. The cocktails are to die for and the last time I had service like this it was at the ritz in London. I know this review sounds a bit ott but I literally can't say enough about this restaurant. My husband and I went for lunch and were not disappointed at all. It was my husband’s birthday. We had a beautiful meal. The staff were amazing professional and extremely friendly.

We visited Olive as a family of 11 for a big birthday. When we arrived there was a small table of 4 and a few others just leaving so the place was completely dead. After ordering drinks which took ages to come we then decided to order our food, the meal had been booked for almost 3 weeks so I was unsure why half of the set menu wasn’t available when the waiter came over to take our food order. Some adults had to order from the kids menu due to items being missing from the set menu. We waited over an hour and a half for the food to come out! I had to ask the waiter several times how long this was going to be. Eventually it arrived. The food was absolutely freezing cold! £29.95 for a freezing cold overdone with a wild mushroom and spinach side which was also freezing cold. The only thing edible was the children’s Mac and cheese. The children’s pizza was like a huge crisp you could snap in half and wasn’t edible at all. It was 9pm at this point, we’d already been there for 2 hours so as you could imagine we were tired and hungry by this point. The waiter knew the food and service was terrible but we didn’t want to make to much of a fuss as it was a big birthday, we also had very young children with us who were extremely tired by this point. I called the olive the next day as soon as they opened to raise my concerns with the manager who in the nicest possible way couldn’t be bothered to deal with it and asked me for an email address where he would send an apology onto. A week had passed and I still hadn’t received anything, I then called back up and was told it would be with me shortly but it wasn’t until the next day I received this. The email I received was an email basically blaming the chef and there was nothing they could do but offer us to come back and spend money again. and hopefully the service will be better next time. I wouldn’t step foot into the Olive again, the food and service is nothing like it used to be pre Covid. I honestly don’t know how the place is still open as it’s a complete shambles.

Offers Just Eat and Uber Eats delivery. Couldn’t get it. So it says visit the restaurant to order and collect. Got there. Apparently they don’t do collections. My GF wanted it but what a waste of a trip. They should make it clear what they are offering in terms of take away or delivery/collection

Myself and three friends visited Olive for tipsy tapas and had so much fun! The food was lovely and the service and drinks were incredible. Justina made sure that we always had a drink and that we were comfortable and happy. Justina was a ball of energy and made suggestions of what drinks and extras were the best on offer, she made our night!

Myself and a friend visited today for a birthday lunch and a cheeky cocktail. The food was lovely - perfect portion sizes. The waiter and waitress were attentive. The mojitos were very nice. The bill was very reasonable. Would definitely return.

A great crowd of friends were togetger in thecOluve to celebrate our friend's 60th last Sunday. Food was great and the atmoshere fantastic. My husband took me to the Olive today to celebrate my birthday. Had a blessed time. Storm was very welcoming and very professional. Both Storm and Jade attended to us with an excellent attitude. In my opinion they are great examples and assets to the restaurant. Look forward to be back very soon.

My partner and I went out for lunch, first time since lockdown. From the moment we walked in we both felt so comfortable with all the regulations they had put in place. We had Storm take us to our seat and take our order, he was lovely and polite. We didn’t feel like he was rushing us but also didn’t feel forgotten. Jade served us our food and again was so lovely and polite. Our food was incredible, I’d highly recommend the muscles! All in all it was a lovely experience and will definitely be going again.

They have 3 menus, lunch time, late afternoon and evening. all 3 are really good but quite different from each other.I have tried most things on the menu and the only thing that has been a bit of a disappointment is probably the mussels.Too Many broken shells for it to be a good pleasant experience.But considering I've been here at least once every week over the past month I can't really complain. It's really spacious so social distancing is easy. And the place has a great ambience.And the service is always amazing dart tonight in particular our waiter Storm was most attentive, and I really could not thought his service.

We often visit Olive when shopping in Corby as we love the food. We visited today and were served by Storm and Harry and we had a really enjoyable lunch and quick and friendly service. We felt very safe lots of hand sanitiser everywhere and staff were all wearing masks and wiping down tables after use. The tables are spaced out so social distancing is easy to conform too. We will be back.

Lovely friendly and attentive service, covid safety measures in place, beautiful decor. Disappointed that food did not match up to surroundings or the price charged. Starters were ok but not entirely sure what the £20 souvlaki main course was all about, unfortunately did not match the very enticing description on the menu and definitely not worth £20! My friend was equally disappointed with their undercooked meat dish, bill around £70 for 2 starters, mains and soft drinks! Shame as it’s a nice place with nice service.

Visited the Olive for my daughters 15th Birthday, we had been prior to Covid-19 and loved it. We must say it was just as good all protocols were followed in terms of masks, cleaning and distancing. The food was excellent and our waiter Storm was fantastic and looked after us very well.

Tonight myself and my friend went out for some dinner and we were not disappointed. Firstly we was greeted by our table server Nicole who was very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our dining experience 1st class. Our food was delicious, hot and tasty and it was so filling we could not manage a desert. I would highly recommend olive and I can't wait to take my partner for lunch or dinner. Visited this restaurant last Thursday and only have positive things to say. We were seated and given the menu, all sounded delicious. We chose our starters and mains and enjoyed our lovely cocktails. Thoroughly enjoyed our food, quality and presentation spot on, compliments to the chef. We will be back.

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions before lockdown and have always enjoyed well cooked food and good service. However, we visited last week and were astonished at how poor this restaurant has become. The service is awful, the food is certainly not upto the standard expected of a restaurant in this price range. In short, we will certainly not return and will warn all family members and friends to avoid this place until significant improvements have been made to the quality of the food and service.

Since the lockdown, a lot has changed at the restaurant. Understandably the price has gone up, however the food quality itself has changed. We ordered two chicken souvlaki wraps which is normally our regular. At our first time back at the restaurant, we discovered that they no longer serve fries accompanying your food, they have decided to put fries in the wrap itself meaning you have to order fries separately. In the wrap itself, the fries have been used to cover lack of meat. Really disappointed in the change and won’t be going back again!

An ex-friend held her birthday party at this restaurant and I came from London to go to it with my friend and then I went into the restaurant today with my friend and we were not allowed in due to the other attendees being rude apparently to the staff talking behind their backs. Everyone is responsible for the own behaviour - if the person is over 18 then why should other adults be responsible for other peoples behaviour... Ridiculous customer service treated with no respect at all. The waitress working at this restaurant is my ex-friends friend and she came up to us to tell us we are not allowed in... trying to use her powers against ours. I asked to speak to Bethany one of the store owners which was present at the time and she told us we are not allowed in today even though I was allowed in yesterday to spend money in for food. How is this acceptable to treat customers with no respect when the restaurant already has little customers coming in.

The place is decorated beautiful and the meze tasted amazing, we came in quite late on the off chance we could get a table and everyone was so accommodating, the chef even came to our table and went out of his way to suggest an alternative choice when one option was out of stock, the cocktail choice is great as there’s not much choice elsewhere for cocktails in Corby, the service has dramatically changed for the better since our last visit, the staff were all friendly helpful and attentive so a positive for our return visit and will definitely return again!

What a brilliant night - seven of us had a 3 course meal and it was spot on- the food was amazing, I had the Salmon starter, Paella and finished with churros, it was all so tasty. The new Rat Pack entertainer kept us thoroughly entertained - what a lovely voice he has and then to switch to Elvis was an added bonus I wasn’t expecting. The staff are lovely, regularly checking we were ok. We even had a chance to have a dance when the DJ took over great mix of 60’s 70’s & 80’s - what a great end to a long week at work.Thank you to all at the Olive x
