Lovely food as always, friendly service

The staff were helpful and welcoming however the breakfast was not as described the multigrain toast was not available the 2 slices of crispy bacon had been replaced with a pile of thin undercooked fatty bacon and the grilled mushoom was replaced ed by several fried button mushrooms

Only stayed for two nights, but a brilliant couple of days. Food was fantastic, staff were very friendly. Only slight criticism was the kitchen closing at 9pm on Saturday, so when we got back late, we couldn’t get anything to eat, but this wasn’t a big deal. Highly recommend 👍

Decided to use the last 30% off voucher before it expired and once again had a beautiful meal that did not disappoint in any way. Fast service, pleasant staff and lovely hot and tasty meal.

A really friendly pub with extremely helpful staff. We are staying two nights and the room is so comfortable. We had an excellent evening meal last night. This morning we really enjoyed our breakfast. The staff are so mindful of my gluten intolerance.

We had a great server called Daniel longdon, the food was tasty and arrived quite quickly, great atmosphere especially for the kids on the play area

Kids disco with face painting was a pleasant surprise as was the food quality. Easily catered for all 12 of us and Jessica was incredible and bubbly

Very busy ,staff doing their best to look after all the customers ( extra busy as a funeral party were in too) . Staff were very pleasant & we didn't have to wait too long for our lunch. Food was good pub grub & would recommend going for reasonably priced meal .

We went here for breakfast, but arrived around 11.30. We could order the breakfast items online, but then we were informed they weren't available which was a bit of a pain. I had the wings instead which were nice.

I'm a wheelchair user and I find coming here to be so lovely! I love the atmosphere and watching my friends play pool! The staff are always so kinds and friendly! I would come everyday if I could! Also the BBQ loaded fries are to die for- ABSOLUTELY DELISH!!

Stylish pub/resturant within the heart of the local community. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Food: 4/5 Main - The chessburger was well cooked with flavour - unusual for a burger to not come with chips. 🫤 Side was cheesy garlic bread, which had a ideal even balance. A eat in establishment not doing milk as a drink is a problem for me. 🥲 For dessert, I thought let's taste a new flavour with a Sherry Trifle Cheescake - ideal for somome with a sweet tooth for fruit. Service: no faults with the staff whatsoever. As I was with a social group the staff nor the machine couldn't handle the thought of everyone paying separately. 🙄 Layout: The inside has a stunning decor, blending all the modern, a classic in pubs together. (Side effect caused the bathroom to feel out of place slightly). 😋

We held my Dads wake at the Old House and the staff were brilliant to deal with during this difficult time for us. They were so accommodating with our requests and made some lovely suggestions for our day, they dealt with us with compassion throughout which was amazing, I can't thank them enough for their level of care and attention. The day itself went very smoothly, the food was great, and I didn't need to think about anything while there which made for a lovely wake to celebrate the life of my father. A huge thank you to all the staff there.

Came for a few afternoon drinks and maybe some food to be told no dogs allowed! Really? Staff did not look happy! First pub ive been to in a very long time where dogs arent welcome!!! Was then told you can order outside from the tables (raining). Made to feel like I'd walked in with leprosy!! Just moved into the area and looking for a local pub to frequent. Thanks, but won't be calling again!

I want to start by saying the bar/waiting staff were brilliant, this review really isn't negative towards them. We booked a table for 15 a while ago for a 50th bday meal, we was told there was an hour wait on food that was fine as we could see it was packed, the first 2 meals came out after 1 hour and 25 min the next 2 came out about 10 minutes after then more came quite a while after that unfortunately a couple of meals had to be sent back because they were burnt I had medium rare steak which was so well done I actually couldn't eat it so asked for a replacement the next 1 was edible but not medium rare . My husbands sauce had actually set in the boat and came out in 1 lump. The staff continued to smile be polite and change our meals. We did complain to a manager and to be fair was all given a free drink. We have been to the olde house dozens of times but earlier in the day not in the evening and always had a lovely food for this reason we would still come back but I'm not sure we would come in the evening/weekend again but stick to lunchtime. The staff were put under a lot of pressure and we were very greatful for their hard work .

Overpriced for portion sizes. But that's probably true everywhere these days. Took 40 minutes to bring our mains out. Staff were friendly though.

Having just returned from a 3 night stay, we can only say the best things about the whole experience. The hotel rooms were very comfortable, the hotel staff in every department are amazing, so helpful, happy to be of service to one & all, nothing too much trouble, the food choices are great , we ate in the restaurant each of our 3 nights there and couldn't fault our meals , they were plentiful and beautifully presented. Kay looked after us at breakfast times , (which was also plentiful), she was always smiling and lovely to talk with. We will recommend this happy establishment to one & all. Always a pleasure to eat out on a Tuesday after connection group. Food always presented nicely and cooked beautifully. Staff serve with a smile and are always polite and accommodating.

Went for Sunday lunch. Was busy so a wait on food. But didn't mind as was a sunny day. Pizza, macaroni cheese and Sunday roast was eaten. 6/10 for the roast. Pizza and pasta was a 10 tho. Even managed a pudding. Will eat again there.

Very quiet Monday evening and the place was very cold. Didn’t seem to be any heating. Chose steak and it was tough in parts. Friend had the mixed grill which looked amazing and they said was really nice so guessing mine was a one off

Had a really good time staff super friendly wven played pool with us after shift. my mother then was unfortunately rude to a manager but it wasn't anything bad she was just asking if a staff member on shift could play pool. When i tried to apologise on behalf of my mother the manager was then dimsissive and rude to me despite me been very sincere and apologetic. I understand my mother was rude but there is no way my tone was rude and i am personally offended as a collective we had a few rounds and customer shouldnt be treated that way. the managers girlfriend was also rude to me after i politely apologised. STAFF ARE LOVELY AND BRILLIANT managers need to sort themselves out

We went for tea and did the order at the table. We were served by a fantastic member of staff called Weronika. She was so helpful and chatty and made it feel like nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous team member and all the food was delicious too!! Good price and served really quick. Follow on visit for a family members 80th. Served by Anwen who was very polite and served us all really well. All good came out hot and freshly cooked and all at the same time which was great considering there were 12 of us. Good service has continued and we will visit again.

We have just spent a lovely evening in The Olde House. We ordered Fish and Chips and Lewis at the bar was most helpful and helped us while we ordered via the QR code which we had never done before. Lewis was very polite and cheerful and he made our evening more enjoyable. The food was great again as we had visited last year and remembered how good the fish and chips was. The lager I drank was on tap and well served as was my husband's ale. We are staying here for one more evening and will, no doubt, order another meal before we leave. I would, most definitely, recommend the Olde House for its food and service.

We spent a lovely evening here tonight eating a great fish and chips meal. Lewis at the bar was exceptionally friendly and helpful as we ordered via the QR code which we had never done before. The meal was excellent and the atmosphere very convivial. We will certainly be having another meal in the restaurant tomorrow evening.

The staff Was really friendly and welcoming also very helpful. The place was clean and tidy. Our food was delicious and well cooked and very well presented.

Terrible place. Nothing but trouble. Been here a few times and each time have had hastily from the staff. Been again today to give them one last chance and have been robbed by them. Ordered 2 mains and a side for 2 adults. However was charged for the side but it wasn't put on the order. The when challenged they were very defensive and passive aggressive. Waitress got the manager who said if I didn't come to the bar I would not be getting what I have paid for and when I told her I will not being going to the bar as I can not walk there properly hence my partner ordering I was met with you won't have your food then. My partner went to the bar and was told he had to pay for the lot again or we would not get our food. We left at this point. Paid £50 for food and never got it. Day light robbery

We hired the big room at the pub for a 60th birhday party, the room and food was amazing, The management and staff was very helpful in making this night very memorable. Thank you for a wonderful night. shout out to Lewis our barman.

Had an excellent meal for the first time here a few days ago. Thought food was really good value and the staff were excellent. Just winced a bit at the price of the beer, ales weren't too bad but the lagers were a bit extortionate, as was my partners gin. Will come again but maybe stay on the soft drinks...

Just to say thank you to Julie and her team for the food and service we received for my late Auntie Kath's wake today and to all who attended.

We celebrated my daughter’s 21 birthday, we booked a room and Buffett. Cannot thank the staff enough. They could not do enough to make our night perfect. The food was beautiful, they took our birthday cake and cut it professionally for us, and kept checking in on us all evening. Thank you once again, my daughter had a blast.

The food was really good and the place really welcoming and clean. Had an amazing Sunday dinner, with the only thing was the gravy was too watery. Thanks especially to Daniel who was very kind and service was top notch.

Chicken was dry and rubbery. steak was very fatty. The kebab was lovely and I shall reorder another time.

We're staying in the hotel so had dinner in the pub. Wine we ordered was out of stock but they offered us an upgrade on the house. Food was great, far and away the best pub food I've had in years with huge portion sizes

We had lunch here on Christmas Day. It was excellent. The service was excellent as was the food. We ordered different meals and all were very well cooked and tasty and the portions were more than ample. It is the best “pub” Christmas meal we have had in a long time and we will certainly be looking at booking for next year.

Pleasantly surprised with the food. Had a chicken burger and chips which was delicious. Chips cooked nice and crispy, and the hash brown in the burger was delicious. Drinks were very reasonably priced as well!

Poor Boxing Day meal. Service was good and meals brought promptly but sat opposite pool tables for a family meal wasn’t a good atmosphere for a family with children. No table service for drinks. Food dry, vegetables hard and just not of the usual quality we have experienced at olde house. Definitely felt like Christmas days left overs warmed up. Was disappointing for what should have felt a special Boxing Day meal.

An exceptional afternoon on Christmas Day. The staff were absolutely brilliant, all friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and we were all full to the brim! We will definitely be back and intend to book again for Christmas Day 2025. Thank you to everyone at The Olde House!

Our first time visiting the Olde House. A family party of seven, booked in for the Christmas day meal. We received a warm welcome on arrival, all the staff were polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The service was excellent and the meal was too.

Whenever I go past this pub, I think that place looks lovely and now I've been in, I can say it definitely is! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and absolutely beautiful at Christmas. All the staff are so helpful and cheerful and really go the extra mile for customers. We have booked onto a few of the Christmas family events are I'm looking forward to the ones still to come. We had lunch with Santa. Santa was lovely, Jess the Elf was great and the manager is so caring too. The food was delicious and well cooked. Nice to have multiple vegetarian options for Sunday lunch. Very reasonably priced. A really magical treat and my new favourite pub, thank you! 😊

We visited to see Santa and have a meal and the overall experience was amazing. The food was really lovely and Santa was so lovely to speak to, despite my daughter being very nervous. I have to give a massive shout-out to Elf Jess who did everything in their power to help my daughter feel welcome and happy. My daughter can be nervous with new people but by the end of the lunch, she was happily talking to Elf Jess and showing them the present she got from Santa. Fantastic service highly recommend!

By and far the staff made the experience here , from check in to departure the staff went above and beyond to be welcoming , chatty and helpful We used it to stay whilst visiting Chatsworth house and got an amazing deal and only 15th a drive to the house one way and close to chesterfield the other

Ordered on QR, fast service,I'd ordered gf accidentally ,this was queried by a lovely waitress and rectified. Chips lovely, best I have had in a long time when dining out. Definitely will return.
