The Highfield in Chesterfield

Came down with a couple of friends to watch the football. Great service as always, the new menu is fantastic and well worth a go!

We often enjoy a hot breakfast at the Highfields, which is our local. It's generally served hot, and nicely cooked. On the occasions we've had other meals we've enjoyed them as well!

I’ve been coming to this pub on and off for a long time, and the standards never slip. The staff are smart, friendly and above all on the ball and excellent at good service. The food is always fresh and has that good pub grub quality, always tasty and cooked how you ask for it, and you’re never waiting long for your meals. It is nice and quiet and never rowdy, or noisy. The price is reasonable and it always has been great value, drinks included. If only other pubs could run as well as this one, I’d eat out more often! Five stars 👍👍👍👍👍

Tasty Pub food, large menu, staff are great. No rushing to be off the table. We sit here most of the afternoon..

Worst pub meal for a long time. Dry oven chips, tinned peas, tasteless gammon steak with the meanest canned pineapple ring on top. Fried egg OK. Waitress very nice- seemed a bit embarrassed by what she had to bring us. Beer not good either- had to leave my pint. Disappointing- won't be back, wouldn't recommend. Far better chain-pub options elsewhere locally for same price and better quality 2-for-1 deals.

Came along with a couple of friends last weekend to watch the football, as always had fantastic service from the staff. Evie was super helpful and polite, our snacks arrived quickly and were tasty as ever! Best pub in town in my opinion

This used to be a really nice eatery years ago. Sadly it's gone downhill over the years. Now a chain pub with no atmosphere. Although it's fairly OK, it's certainly not great , food, adequate, with the usual menu on offer. Veg obviously cooked from frozen. Chicken was rubbery. No I didn't say anything because they are doing the best with poor ingredients. Service was wonderful, no issues there. I left feeling deflated.

Disappointing that the cask ales were both off. The sharing plate of chicken and nachos didn't come with individual plates so was messy. My burger was fine if unexciting but the salmon and sizzling veg were underseasoned, the salmon a bit overcooked and quite disappointing.

Iave never ever complained about any where but this was ridiculous. We had booked the table, when we arrived not many people in. We ordered at the bar and were told 45 mins wait we said ok and kept the young children occupied after 1hrs and 5 mins I asked the waitress if she was able to tell us how much longer as we were told 45 mins, she replied very abruptly that it was a 1 hrs wait and it wasn't her fault we had been told 45mins. 10 mins later our food arrived. Gannon tough chips not very warm child's corn on cob so dry he couldn't eat it and didn't wait for his sweet that we had paid for as it was getting late.

We visited the Highfield with friends and family for a meal in Thursday night. Good choice of food was really good and well presented. Vegetarian choices could be better but that's the company not the staff. Lovely staff members made to feel welcome, friendly and helpful. Nice environment lovely meal hot which I like so hats off to the kitchen staff. Thanks again for a lovely meal. We will all see you soon. Thanks Julie

Had a breakfast, egg was raw sausage was weird bacon was dry and like boot leather grilled tomato was dry never asked what bread we wanted so had brown stale toast mushrooms boiled and rubbery hash browm bites dry. The whole plate of food was dry like cardboard. Today i have stomach ache god help the other food if they cant even cook a breakfast

Customer service was great. speed of food from kitchen to table was fast. Prices were good for quality of food.

Great and diverse menu (lots of vegetarian and vegan options) really friendly place and fast service. Accessible toilets. Chilled atmosphere, great selection of drinks at the bar. Highly recommend.

Thought we’d try the festive menu as the pictures advertising this looked great. Nothing like the pictures and the turkey was reconstituted pre packed sandwich turkey. The veg was frozen and not fresh. Extremely disappointing

Myself and family went for tea today and were not disappointed. Every time we go, the food is great. It was made even better by the fact we had a 40% off main meals voucher. The portion sizes are great, and today I tried the Surf & Turf and upgraded to an 8oz sirloin steak, and it was cooked to perfection, and the meat melted on my tongue. Will definitely be going back soon.

Just had meal for 2 booked for 4.30 sun 17-11-24. Didn't have to wait long foodwas delicious and hot really enjoyed everything. The young blonde girl was lovely and made sure we were OK she is an asset to your company .

We go Tuesdays and Fridays. We are served by Jo and Tracy. You could not ask for better service and brilliant atmosphere they create. We have never had a bad meal in all the time we have been going.

Had a fantastic Gyros at The Highfield! Really tasty and fresh, the staff were super friendly especially Chris the PM. He made us feel really welcome and valued in the pub. We will definitely be returning and have already recommended to multiple people! 10/10!

Came down on my way to work to try their breakfasts, since I enjoyed my last visit so much. It didn’t disappoint again! The food was hot, great quality and very cheap for what you get. Haven’t had a bad visit yet!

Could not put any fault at all, ordered 3 meals, x2 rib & rumps 1 was upgraded to 8oz & also an 8oz rump on its own, cooked to perfection 10 out of 10

Not high and not in a field. Nevertheless, very much enjoyed the place. The manager (I believe it was) who served me was the GOAT with a goatee.

Great meals at a good price, plenty of choice.

There are plenty of better pubs. Looks good from the outside, but inside is not so great. Price of beer was slightly below average, it was a good pint too.

Found this place on Google as it's kids eat for £1 with a paying adult and we needed some lunch. Very spacious inside, I like how the tables aren't too close together. We ordered fish and chips, gammon and chips and childs all day breakfast, best pub food we've had in a long time! Wasn't waiting long and the food came out piping hot! Value for money and they also accept my Biue Light discount. The lady with the dark hair on the bar was really helpful! Would have been 5 stars for service but the other lady wasn't as polite and looked like she didn't want to be there. Will definitely return again! Highly recommend!

Called in for a meal and a few pints, the meal was extremely good and cooked perfectly. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and i would recommend the place.

Really good full English breakfast, very good value. Nice surroundings and friendly staff. This pub also does vegan options which my daughter and son-in-law enjoyed. The issue is that they don't serve alternative milk and margerine, only cow's milk and butter with the breakfast. Surely if offering vegan options, alternative milk and non dairy spread should be available? Just think it's strange. Maybe something that could be considered please?

Village pub. Great steaks, Reasonably priced.

The food was luke warm there had to warm it up ...the lasagne was burnt around the edge, the garlic bread was rock hard they was no service, we had to order from the bar one girl bought our food out then we had ti take the plate to the bar to show them it was cold as no staff was around. The atmosphere.....very cold. Will never go back.

Quick pub meal with my kids and husband. Food was good and a decent price. Kids meals are quite small so if you have children that are between kids and adult portions I’d go for an adult meal! Staff were friendly too

A lovely pub with a lovely outdoor seating also a sports area with a pool table an array of beverages avaliable, the cocktails went down a treat. The service is brilliant with staff always polite and pleasant 😀. Food is always lovely with many offerings from salad bowls, steaks and pub classics (bangers and mash, fish and chips etc.) My only gripe would be having whole mushrooms on your plate it just looks so unappealing and just spoils the dish so please if you can make your plates more polished by using sliced mushrooms you'd definitely deserve that 5🌟

The steak ordered for my husband’s birthday meal was rare when we ordered med to well done. No one about to complain to. So meal was disappointing and spoiled.

Great pub ,we meet our friends here every so often. This week we decided to try out the vegan options as my partner and I are both vegan. So we thought it would be nice for us all to eat together. I had a dhansak curry with nann bread and rice,which was really tasty. My partner had the vegan ribs in BBQ sauce with potatoes. We really enjoyed both meals,but find it really annoying that there are no vegan wines on offer to accompany our meals. If you're going to the trouble of putting vegan options on your menu,then some options of wine would be really welcome. A bottle of wine also works out cheaper. Just a small gripe ,food was good ,but let's see at least a couple of wine options.
