Busy venue with good prices for your food orders, great if you want to take the kids out with you for a meal.

Great pub ,we meet our friends here every so often. This week we decided to try out the vegan options as my partner and I are both vegan. So we thought it would be nice for us all to eat together. I had a dhansak curry with nann bread and rice,which was really tasty. My partner had the vegan ribs in BBQ sauce with potatoes. We really enjoyed both meals,but find it really annoying that there are no vegan wines on offer to accompany our meals. If you're going to the trouble of putting vegan options on your menu,then some options of wine would be really welcome. A bottle of wine also works out cheaper. Just a small gripe ,food was good ,but let's see at least a couple of wine options.

Customer service was great. The lady behind the bar was lovely and kind. Smile during service and happy to help. You don't always get it.

Table booked for 7.15 pm. Shown to the table, we started with a red wine and cup of tea which was luke warm. Starter was simple onion rings ( poorly cooked and under cooked plus luke warm again). I ordered a mix grill, chips were totally shocking and probably microwave. Chicken felt under cooked, asked for steak to be well done, it was also under cooked. Gammon and sausage were ok but everything was luke warm. I think you need a new chef and staff which actually care that customers aren't happy with there meal. Totally waste of money and a evening... Thank you for nothing I'll never return...

The food was extremely bland, fatty and expensive for what it is, none of the staff even asked if we wanted condiments or told us where they were. I’d also pre ordered a dessert and was told I’d have to choose a different dessert once we’d arrived by a friend as the Highfield were changing their menu, yet no member of staff actually asked me what I wanted. Whilst my friends were eating their desserts I had to sit and wait for mine and then eat once they had all finished. As well as this, I didn’t actually get to choose what I’d of liked for dessert, it was just assumed by the server at the bar that I wanted a particular dessert (which I didn’t actually like) the young girl who came to the table on multiple occasions was lovely but the manager (Ellie?) seemed extremely bolshie with a bad attitude and was completely unapproachable.

My first and last visit. The reserved table was NOT reserved. The gammon was rock hard. The peas were not garden peas and were like bullets. Very poor.

Went for breakfast, served till 12. Good range in breakfast menu & good price. Bottomless tea, coffee, toast. Didn't need more toast as ample breakfast. 2 of us dined

had a lovely time here last night, food and service was amazing, the only slight disappointment was that we had booked for a group of 24 around 3 weeks ago but when we got there they hadn’t put the tables out so we could all sit as a family, instead we was all seated away from each other and didn’t feel like we was there as a group

Good selection of ales which were well kept. Service good. Quality of food was mixed across our group of 9 people, including a tough steak in mixed grill

1st time we visited. Decided to dine in on Sunday, The food was amazing, Highly Recommended is the Sirloin steak on that Sizzler!! Reasonably priced, and The Staff were very friendly, finished with a few games of pool and a win on the slots!! Bonus 👌

Varied menu . Had to have steak swapped due to lots of chewy meat. Staff very helpful about this. Food served very hot which is good. Staff pleasant and helpful. Update Jan 2024 very busy but were sat as requested in quiet area. Had to have steak redone as chewy and fatty. Mixed grill very good. Chips could have been hotter.

Amazing breakfast with perfect eggs Reasonable price, unlimited tea and toast Lovely warm room on a miserable wet morning. Chose here for breakfast after having a fantastic meal on a Friday evening recently … the best gammon steak I’ve ever had followed by a superb sundae. Will certainly be back

Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Food was great. We had a rump steak and a sirloin steak: both were tender and tasty (just that the one we ordered well done was medium, and the one we ordered medium was medium-rare).

Really nice meal, I had a sirloin steak cooked medium served with a smile from the very attentive staff and a few pints of beer. I would recommend this place t o everyone.

The food was terrible. I ordered the sizzling chicken. The chicken was served without the lemon and pepper rub, the kitchen had forgotten to put the garlic sauce on the veg and the rice was rock hard. I complained and was given a jug of cold and raw garlic squce which the veg should have been cooked in. I asked for my meal to be taken away and i decided not to eat. It was a birthday meal and i was so upset.

Great meal again tonight for tea with family members .Food lovely and warm very well presented. Lovely and warm just how I like it 😊 nice and clean and tidy. Well done Highfield team

We booked a table for 8 for a family birthday, the booking process was easy and Chris confirmed our table would be ready for our arrival. The ladies were especially helpful with regards to the offers for the children’s meals, food was spot on arrived swiftly and had no complaints Jess looked after our table the whole evening and was great. Will be back soon.

Just a standard pub, food was normal and like most pub chains, nothing to rave about or complain about.

Everything about this place is fantastic

We(as a family of 4)decided to go out for our tea and thought of The Highfield. Having been numerous times before we knew what we would be getting , and, again, we were not let down, as the food was delicious and service very good.

The Calamaris were overdone and my steak with caramelized onions was bland ..

My food was very disappointing 😞 cold chicken on a sizzling bed of onions and a bit of green brocoli and 3/4 of tomatoes that's what there fajitas are never again

Great meal,nice staff and low prices just got a little bit wrong on the order but other than that was a great meal.

The food is a definate improvement. The majority of the staff are good. But when you see the one off duty playing pool or sat outside using the F word more than I care to hear (female) it spoils the night.

We used a Groupon coupon and expected slightly less of a meal than if we had walked in . However we were pleasantly surprised , lots of food , well cooked and presented by delightful staff . Would definitely go again .

Staff were really good but food was very disappointing. I had the salt & pepper mushrooms for my starter. Couldnt taste salt, pepper or mushrooms, just overcooked batter/breadcrumbs (couldnt even tell what it was). My son's tortillas chips were lovely, but totally unnecessary (and rather strange) to cover everything in spring onions (which he had to scrape off and leave) - there's no mentions of spring onions on the menu. For mains we had the sizzling plates - I had the salmon, which was fine, but my son had the rump steak, cooked medium well done. When it arrived it was well overcooked and very dry, he was very disappointed as this was his birthday meal. We did tell the staff and they were very apologetic, with both the waitress and manager offering us either a drink or a dessert, but we had had enough at that time of the day. We said all we wanted was for the chef to be told that it wasnt satisfactory, so he can correct for others. They did say that the steak carries on cooking on the sizzling plate which we totally understand, but in that case shouldnt the chef undercook the steak so that it is correct once it reaches the customer?

We knew it was a 45 minute wait, but when it came out, the jumbo scampi and chips should have been on the children's meal,(well I think it came out on a child's plate). The salmon came out with cold veg. The mac cheese portion was not even a starter meal, that she wanted for a main, very disappointing 😔 Very poor.

Got a Groupon voucher wish we hadn't, cheap yes waste of money yes. The most disgusting food I've had. Overcooked mushrooms, undercooked chips, dry chicken and burnt steak. Yes it's a cheap deal but don't bother it was really awful food worse than wetherspoons.

staff very friendly and polite. food pretty awful...especially the lightbite scampi and chips - food temperature - cool at best. portion 6 scampi pieces and about the same amount of chips. a few peas were thrown in! Rump steak like leather! Cold chips!

Server didn't listen to a request for no tomatoes. (allergy) so it had to be sent back. The chicken sizzler was dry and overcooked and the chips were stone cold. The chicken bites starter, had barely any chicken in them.

this is my local and I do visit on occasion unfortunately it's very mediocre co pared to other pubs in the area.

Me and my family went to the Highfields on the fourth of july to celebrate my sixty fifth birthday I was met by a young lady call Jess. she is the Assistant manager, she made us very Welcome And found us tables straight away. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We had lots of food and lots to drink everything was fantastic.

Always great food. Becky was great and found us a table on a busy day even though we hadn't booked. Great service.

Went for a meal here today always have the golden oldies as I’m not a big eater, food was lovely, service at the bar was a little disappointing though as when we walked in I sat down but my friend was stood at the bar ages waiting to be served?

Met some friends for Breakfast, arrived and the staff member wasn't very friendly, was made to feel we were a inconvenience, we had to ask if we could sit anywhere. No communication. Ordered the food and drinks from the app which was great and easy to get everyones order . Drinks arrived promptly but again the staff member wasn't very friendly. Food arrived within a good time, food was hot , only issue with the food the eggs on two of the breakfasts were over done. No staff member returned to see if everything was alright with the meals. The price was for the breakfast was ok we all said if it was any dearer then we would have complained. But due to the issues above we won't be returning any time soon.

Nice place to visit and a decent sized menu. Our food came and was apparent it was the victim of a microwave however it still had a nice flavour to it. As far as local pub eateries go its worth a visit.

Normally basic food but good. Today over cooked chips, burnt gammon & the steak wasn’t medium as ordered. Did not as if everything was alright. Dessert was burnt too. Such a shame as used to be good
