Old Town Coffee House in Stirling

Had a wonderful sit down breakfast. Lovely coffee and nice service. Atmosphere was casual and charming. Would recommend.

Passed many times but never been in. Wanted it to be really old fashioned like a Georgian coffee house but instead it was full of motivation sayings adorning the walls. Service was good though.

Ordered a cheese, pesto and salad sandwich. What arrived was stuffed full of filling and accompanied by crisps and coleslaw. Absolutely delicious. Really friendly staff. I'll be back!

Dropped into this cafe after reading a review left by Newspaper Critic, (Sunday Post Scone Spy) what a disappointment. The welcome was not the warmest. Ordered two coffees and two scones. The coffee was okay, but the scones were not fresh and heated in a microwave to disguise this, as some places often do. Another one off the list

Waitress not friendly at all. Not even say hi but just « cash only » when we entered. Too bad because the place is cosy and food is good. Her Attitude definitly needs improvement

I really enjoyed my lunch in this charming little cafe in Stirling old town. A hidden gem with delicious soup. Only five mins downhill from the castle.

Bonne adresse où tout est fait maison. Serveuses souriantes et lieu très cosy. Situé tout près du château et de la prison, c’est un lieu où il fait bon faire une pause.

Food was lovey also dog friendly but surprised to get a 10% service charge. Not like we were a big party only 4. I could go on, but if we like our service we tip it shouldn’t be imposed and your overheads including wages should be in your prices. Note it isn’t cheap , reasonable but not cheap. I also didn’t see any notice regarding a service charge .

Really nice little place, the food was nice but the place lacked atmosphere, the welcome was wasn’t all that great, we stayed to eat regardless and the food was good but it was a case of let’s eat and get out, which is a shame...

Called in here for a quick lunch while we were sightseeing. Although it was busy the atmosphere was lovely and calm. We were served really quickly with huge sandwiches which came with crisps and salad. The staff were lovely and friendly too.

Came across this delightful little coffee shop on our way down from Stirling castle. Great food, great atmosphere and service great value for money and dog friendly. Would throughly recomend it.

Stopped in for a hot drink whilst killing time before our train home. Excellent service, cute atmosphere, would definitely come back. The chai latte was especially good. Wished I was hungrier after a mediocre hotel breakfast, but couldn’t resist ordering the tiramisu to takeaway. Absolutely scrummy!!

Great place for breakfast and light meals, freshly prepared with excellent coffee and everything presented beautifully. Small but warm with a welcome stove and comfortable even in Scottish weather! They are eager to please and deserve to do well. Hotel breakfasts can be poor value and I'd choose this café above any of them.

Children surprised us with a High Tea delivery - amazing and plenty sandwiches and cakes !!Couldn't fault a thing and enjoyed it all, sandwiches, scones cakes with some grapes and strawberries in fact more nice little bits than I can mention.Have to say thanks for the lovely surprise and to the Old Town for such a fabulous spread !

My husband and I received our takeaway order well before the recommended delivery time! The soup and sandwich was just amazing and his full breakfast was like something you would seen in a 5 star hotel! Homemade coleslaw was just to die for and they even chucked in a couple of tray bakes and everything sealed with thank you stickers! Definitely a small business I will be supporting through these hard times! Top class!

En una visita al castillo de Stirling con mi familia el 3 de enero muy frío, vimos este encantador café y decidimos tomar algo de comida y una bebida caliente. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida a pesar de estar cerca de la hora de cierre y rápidamente nos sirvieron deliciosas comidas y bebidas calientes. ¿Puedo recomendar el pescado y las patatas fritas y chai latte? Después de que nos fuimos a caminar al castillo, me di cuenta de que me había dejado los guantes (un regalo de Navidad de mi hija). Me contacté con ellos en Facebook y me los han enviado muy amablemente en Bristol, ¡rechazando mi oferta de pagar el franqueo! Servicio al cliente por excelencia! ! ?

We tried to have lunch in here today and were shooed out the door by a woman on a phone, never said a word to us but just gestured at us to get out. At 12.30 the door was open and cafe seemed to be open. Her loss our gain as we carried on down the hill to a cafe callled Lovin Food, geat find and will be our default eating place in the future, abolutely fantstic food and great staff.

After checking in to our hotel we decided to go for a coffee with my sister and brother-in-law. We where heading to town when we spotted this coffee house. We sat by the window and had lunch and one of the best coffees I have had in our trip to Scotland.

Ideally situated on the long climb up to the Castle is this Nice, clean cafe with a delightful mix of furniture and artefacts . Plenty of soft seats too. Value for money food

We stopped by here on our way down from the castle. Friendly service and the panini and soup were up to a high FRESH standard. Will definitely be back!

After having a great day visiting Sterling castle we walked past this cafe which was empty suited us a family of six as had the pick of where we were seated. The food ordering was not table service and was a bit confusing and not guided by the staff. Staff not friendly and felt we were a nuisance to them even though we were the only ones there. They did not listen to our order correctly and when we challenged them felt it was on deaf ears. Some of the food listed on the menu not available bearing in mind this was lunch time. Would not recommend or most defo not visit again, bad taste in our mouth after having a wonderful time in Sterling.

We went to this place because it was recommended by our guide book. Inside, it is nice but some tables were dirty (only one couple inside so no busy), no smile on the face of the lady, no napkin with the piece of cake. We ordered 2 special teas and a piece of cake. The price is expensive. For the tea, no pot, only tasses.

Loved this adorable coffee house! We had the best cappuccino and an awesome breaky! The French toast was so tasty and the portions were big! Service was friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was cozy and charming! Highly recommend!

We arrived as a bedraggled party of six rain-sodden tourists and received a warm welcome at this lovely café. Soup and a toasted sandwich each was a great way to revive us for more sightseeing and the food was freshly prepared to order and delicious.

From the moment we entered the Old Town Coffee Shop, we felt welcome. It wasn't too busy, being after lunchtime and we got a lovely table in the corner. The staff were friendly and very attentive and the food was delicious. My husband had a cheese and ham panini and a vanilla milkshakes and I had chocolate pancakes with ice cream. The milkshake in particular was out of this world. Really delicious and, like the meals, beautifully presented. We would highly recommend the Old Town Coffee Shop and will be back next time we're in Stirling!

Vi gick förbi på vår väg från slottet och önskade lunch. Old Town coffe house så trevligt ut. Vi möttes av en trevlig personal i en mysig hemtrevlig atmosfär. Bord, soffor mm gör det lätt att hitta en trevlig plats. Vi beställde 2 soppa med smörgås samt 2 ost- och skinkcrepes. Allt lagades till medan vi väntade och det gick fort. Allt smakade utmärkt. Priserna är rimliga. Rekommenderas varmt.

Un endroit vraiment sympathique avec un joli cadre . Nous nous sommes vraiment régalés avec omelette et petit déjeuner complet.

We enjoyed a big pot of tea, sandwiches and a wonderful Scottish breakfast late morning which was great quality and came in a choice of sizes. Our hosts were lovely and the cafe is lovely and quirky. They had some great looking cakes too.

Had an awful fried breakfast and not value for money. Atmosphere fine for a cafe and the coffee was good. Disappointing after so many good meals in Stirling that we allowed this to be the last one. Greasy tongue was not the memory I hoped to travel home with. Probably would have been wiser to go to Wetherspoons two doors down.

Waiter is a bit rude. They are incapable to make a dry cappuccino, they made a flat white instead. Soup was a bit tasteless. Desserts seemed nice

We called in here for some breakfast whilst staying in Stirling. The menu looked great I ordered porridge and my wife ordered French toast. I ordered extra fruit to go with my porridge. The waiter checked to make sure that he had porridge first which was a it odd. When it came it was the strangest porridge I have ever eaten it appeared to be a mixture of oats and muesli in a glop. There was some melon and banana on the side. I was expecting some berries as extra fruit. With some drinks it came to about £13 which seemed a lot. Not a great experience and wife didn't enjoy the French toast that much.

Caffè americano, cappuccino e una fetta di torta circa 8 GBP in linea (anche un po più bassi) con i prezzi medi di queste zone della Scozia. Gentile il personale, ambiente molto molto carino e di gusto shabby chic.

we were in self catering for the weekend and went here for a cooked breakfast, it was so nice we went back the next day and had another excellent breakfast, and the scones are so yummy.

5 of us went there for a work night out. We pre booked the tapas. One had fish and chips however. The table was set beautifully. At £15 per head it was more than worth it. The food was delicious and different from anywhere else. We all agreed we would go back and recommend to others. The staff could not have been nicer. It is a byob with a very fair corkage charge. We had a great night overall. There was so much food, we were given boxes to take some away, which we did. I would definitely recommend this place.

I have visited this place twice for breakfast but have left without ordering because the staff are so unfriendly. No acknowledgement, no idea if theres table service of if your meant to order at the till. No knowledge about specific dietary requirements and very rude when asked. The old timey facade is the only positive attribute.

What a great find! They have a fabulous plowmans' platter is more than satisfying and lots of dessert items. We stopped in twice, once for a late lunch and another time for coffee and an almond slice. Service is fast and the quality is great!

Nice enough food - they even agreed to make scrambled eggs for me which weren't on the menu. Service is OK, not especially friendly not nice enough, as is the food. Coffee could be better. Overall, nice enough but would probably look for somewhere else.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous lunch and tea at the Coffee House. We always look for a place with homemade fare and a unique feel. The Coffee House fit the bill. The sausage lentil soup was delicious and filling. My husband had a chicken sandwich and I added a scone. We were quite full when we left, after an enjoyable visit.

We only had coffee and a tray bake and both were lovely. It was a pleasant place to relax over your coffee.

Das kleine Altstadtcafé am Schlossberg von Sterling sieht von außen klein und gemütlich aus. Im Inneren gibt es wirklich bequeme Sessel und Couches. Freies WLAN ist für alle Gäste ebenfalls frei verfügbar. Die Kuchen an der Theke sahen lecker aus, ich nahm einen Pear Cream Cake und dazu einen Strawberry Milkshake. Leider war der Kuchen, anders als erwartet, recht trocken. Die Cremé war viel zu dünn. Die dazu servierte Sahne war leider Sprühsahne aus der Dose, was man sehr stark durchschmeckte. Schlimmer war allerdings der, eigentlich recht gut aussehende, Milchshake. Dieser bestand aus in Milch eingerührtem Erdbeerpulver und Sprühsahne und war somit leider viel zu süß und nicht trinkbar.

Visited for a quick coffee and a can of pop, asked for two pieces of caramel shortcake (which were about 2" x 2"), I almost fainted when the lady asked for £10!!!!

Das Kaffe ist sehr hübsch ausgestattet. Das Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet und reichlich. Das beste sind aber die Desserts. Hausgemachte Kuchen oder Pancakes!
