Nice food well prepared and tasty

Daytime lunch with Friends. Is £3.35 for a gas fed pint of lemonade expensive. Damn right it is. Can't see me going here again which is sad as the pub in general is great.

Nice little family Sunday out, staff were great and very friendly, kids could play in the play area and the bouncy castle which was a bonus. Would recommend for food as it was 👌 Great pub with a lot of offering

Took the rugrats out for a the day then though I’d stop off at the shepherd for a drink and some food, food was amazing and brats were kept occupied by the bouncy castle and play area, friendly staff and brilliant beer will definitely be returning

My food was over hour and half wait and the 1st two things I ordered they never had and when ordered what I did have was BIGGEST let down, my chips were just full of grease or rock hard my tomato was burnt and what I got as hunters chicken was vile never again will I go back there and when asked for refund for my food I was told was fine and the person walked away

Myself and my husband visited this establishment for some lunch, we thoroughly enjoyed it, meal was hot and beautifully cooked! Friendly staff and the table had all condiments on it, normally you have to ask for different sauces very impressed, highly recommended

The staff are just so lovely here. They were so kind when we'd just moved in down the road and desperately needed somewhere to work. Sophie (I think that's her name) is always so nice and helpful. I hope the brewery gives them a refurb because they deserve it. Cheers!

So happy this place has new management! Visited on Sunday for a birthday. Food was good, service was good. The whole atmosphere felt so much more relaxed than it did just a couple of months ago! Am looking forward to my next visit.

Manager really pleasant as are the other staff members. Toilets clean. Clean setting all round. Great outside area for the kids. My little one always asks to come to the Shepard whenever we eat out. Food good as always.

A lively little pub, just came for a drink to catch up with a friend. Nice looking pub, and had a good atmosphere as Cov were off to Wembley. But not overwhelming and friendly Cov fans.

Great pub, staff friendly and good atmosphere especially on weekends. 2 pool tables and also a dartboard. Prices are not too expensive and the food is also nice. Would recommend for few drinks or a meal! 👍

Food was good and service really good

Went for a meal here. The staff we're very helpful, but our food was cold and had to be returned for them to heat it up again. We won't be going back in a hurry .

Had birthday party and had a fabulous time.

Bar staff was amazing, atmosphere was fantastic the moment we walked in our party felt welcomed. Food was delicious. My 14 year old and his friends got to play darts and pool all day plus watch the football and ruby. Will definitely recommend and will be back soon

Great food, great light bite options, good portion size. A lovely lady refilled my Sippy cup with water and ice that I had been using to quit smoking before I left. Lady we spoke to said they were under new management, certainly seems a nicer vibe and better service than when we last came.

Lovely visit Saturday. Nice pub with great selection of beers and wines, tasty and fresh food, served within 15-20 minutes after ordering. Both bar and table service is spot on, empty glasses taken of table right away, no waiting time at the bar. Really impressed with service and atmosphere. Will definitely come back soon.

Some really nice locals here. Great conversation with an elderly guy called Anthony. Look him up. Nice IPA behind bar in Fridge called shipyard. If in area again, will definitely pop back in.

I'm afraid this place is in desperate need of a deep clean, toilets were filthy and the fixed seating needs recovery. The table we sat on felt sticky, the lunch looked tired. The deserts we had to send back, although we did get a refund for our desserts, it's not the standard you'd expect from a Marstons, and where did you get the chef from ☹️

I overheard a member of staff in the kitchen, saying I looked like a Romanian metal worker, which quite frankly is incorrect, not what I expect to hear coming from a kitchen in a pub.

Food is terrible but if you want a beer it's okay, Play area for the kids but it is a lower demographic of people so can be a little rough I don't mind that though Staff are friendly but I wouldn't feed my dead dog the food

ordered two curries, they arrived promptly, but obviously either over cooked or left under heat lamps way to long the sauce was dry. when we expressed our dismay the server took the food away and returned with the same food saying " its how it should be, there's nothing wrong and nothing we can do". I asked to see the manager, they didn't come to us but the meals were replaced. Still missing items, but cooked as it should be. we used to use this venue alot, not sure we would bother again.

I had an amazing experience, was served immediately and the food was very good. I was served by Morgan Smith .

Food order was missing an egg and the smallest portion of chips I've seen from any pub. Ordered dessert waited over 30mins before speaking to the bar. Told it will be out in 2-3mins 12minutes later comes out (hot Apple crumble and custard) the middle was stone cold. Spoke to the manageress. No apology just 'what would you like, a fresh one' To be fair the apple crumble was really nice. Just waiting too long and poor service. No apology or offer of refund or complimentary drink

Great pub, with nice food at very reasonable prices. Funky decor and a little playpark in the garden for the kids. Pool tables and a smoking area of the bar to the left with a grab machine also. The friendly staff always give a warm welcoming smile. Big car park with plenty of space to park. Tables outside as well. I would recommend a visit for food and drinks or just drinks 😁

First time experience here as my grand daughter works here. Great service and hospitality from Charlotte she was outstanding. Food was amazing, came out quickly considering it was busy will definitely come again.

I just want to share with all of how my experience went of visiting the Old Shepherd. Charlotte the Manager was the best host I've ever come across and will 100% will be returning. Fantastic food, beer and staff. We'll done Charlotte.

Had nice day there the other day, some good food and a nice variety of non-alcoholic beverages, the person at the bar, his name was morgan or something and he had really bright hair and a brighter personality. It's a nice place to sit down and have a meal and drink, it's a shame it was raining though.

Recently went to the old shepherd for a change as used to frequently use in my younger days. The place was completely different. Nice warm bar staff if I can recall the bar staff gave excellent service .What made my experience was Charlotte who ran the whole team on the day I was in. We decided to make a day of it & have some food 😋. Excellent service & quality, couldn't ask for anything more. Used the establishment quite a lot since. Because can't knock perfection. Charlotte & the whole team are always there 👍👍

Lovely decor, staff great, varied menu if you eat meat and good value for money. Being a vegetarian, I had the burger with cheese and sweet chilli and chips, and it was delicious. I highly recommend this dish.
