A wonderful hotel. Zoe provided great friendly service at breakfast. The bar staff Tyler and George were very attentive and professional. The food was delicious.

Stayed one night on an all inclusive offer and also had afternoon tea. The food was delicious. The place is lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our time in the pool, sauna and steam room. Our room was clean and comfortable. My friend and I have been twice and will be returning again in October for another one night stay.

Stayed here on two separate occasions in the last week, first room, nice , clean, spacious, the bath had lost its under support, and I was weary of standing in it! Loo brush was overlooked by the cleaning staff….. Second room.. the door to the room won’t close, the bathroom door won’t close, the cable to the heated towel rail is draped across the floor, tea, coffee and milk tray empty, for £80 room only,, possibly should be better! Great staff, nice spa facilities, but the rooms need attention.

Some good points .... room was nice, bed was comfortable, staff work hard Poor points .... wine tasting was half an hour late, left in a room wondering what was going on. Then it was not wine tasting but full glasses of wine with a guessing game. Spa not up to scratch, sauna out of order, jacuzzi only works 5 mins on 5 mins off, changing rooms not fit for purpose, heated pool is more a plunge pool than a swimming pool. Was asked to order in advance for our meal but still waited over 35 minutes for starters after being seated. Then a further 30 minutes to the next course and the next. My partner is on crutches but we were told we could not reserve seating for the lounge, only for a group of 6 with no mobility issues to be allowed to reserve seating. People discussing in the lounge dogs fouling their lounge in detail whilst we were a metre away trying to each our food. They have an all inclusive package which attracts the wrong type of clientele. Ok for a night away with mates to get drunk but certainly not a romantic night away with a loved one. Such a shame, this place could be so much more.

Tucked away is the Old Mill Hotel in a quiet corner of Ramsbottom. Yes, the rooms are a bit tired, but ours was spotless as was the bathroom. We didn’t use the leisure facilities but great to have them there. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole experience was very enjoyable. We would definitely come again as it’s great value for money.

Positives.. location, Staff and food was excellent. Inclusive drinks so was good in that respect. Board game so you can have a giggle amongst friends Negatives.. room very dated mouldy and unclean the carpets where filthy need ripping up and stank. Bed broken in the middle curtains hanging off and dirty. The whole room needed a deep clean and a lick of paint just as a quick fix.Bed over covers had red wine on them obviously from previous guest and not changed. Corridors had a funny smell was again coming from the carpets and they spray something to mask it which makes it worse. Pool needs a deep clean and the gym equipment was rusty I wanted to use it but wouldn't due to the state and again the carpets , running the hoover round wouldn't go a miss either.

Enjoyable cheap and cheerful weekend away! Ok so it’s nowhere near a 5 star. Very dated, needs a refurbishment, bedrooms are bedrooms. The shower over the bath was serviceable but how the bath creaked even under my 8 stone weight. Let’s face it. 2 nights overnight stay for 2 with 2x 2 course meals and 2xfull English breakfasts on both days is not to be sniffed at. Not forgetting the all inclusive bar from 6-11pm on both nights for £300. You can’t really complain although I’m sure some people will. Negatives: very dated decor throughout; spa/gym facilities very limited, 2 sun loungers really doesn’t cut it; no matter what room you stay in, your view will always be the car park; rooms only attended to every 5 days; no little extras apart from the soap in the bathroom , tea/coffee/nespresso facilities in your room; no bathrobes; no fridge etc. It’s a bargain frills free hotel. In other words you get what you pay for. Positives: great location for exploring/walking/steam train enthusiasts. Cannot fault the friendliness of the very hard working staff. Ignore any food menu’s you may have seen online as they are inaccurate. Food selection is limited but it does make up for in quality; the all inclusive drinks between 6-11pm in itself presents great value for money if you are that way inclined; beds are very comfortable although bedding/towels are clean they are way past their best; hairdryer in the room; very quiet at night so a peaceful sleep. If you want luxury then go elsewhere but if want a chilled cheap weekend then yes box ticked. Would I go back? Yes when it’s been modernised and updated. Would I recommend for a relaxing cheap weekend then definitely. As I said, if you want quantity and quality then this definitely isn’t the place to go. Cheap and cheerful? Go for it but don’t moan and complain!

Absolute bargain stay. The hotel itself has seen better days and leisure facilities need a refresh. The chain needs to invest in the building. However, it is priced accordingly. They do an all inclusive deal of 2 course dinner, 5 hours of open bar and breakfast and access to all facilities (gym, swim, sauna, steam and jacuzzi) for bargain prices. We paid £150 for 2 ppl. This was a very generous offer and saw the place very busy with a lovely atmosphere and vibe from fellow customers. The staff are fabulous and offer a top class service and all go out of their way to make you feel valued and special. Some people seemed like friends rather than guests and it was clear they were valued. The chef is fab, the food had great quality ingredients, good portions, amazing flavours and well cooked and presented. I can honestly say for the price I was not expecting this level of quality. Centrally located in Ramsbottom, great for walking or mooching around the town. Free car parking and lovely little landscapes garden area at the front.

Just spent a night here with 9 other family members on the all inclusive deal. Ages ranged from 3years old to 80years old. The staff are so lovely, friendly and very helpful, all are polite and service was impeccable. The staff accommodated every request we had, from sorting out the birthday cake we had taken to providing us with extra sugar/milk for the rooms. They gave us the rooms we requested and the kitchen staff catered for all our requests, nothing we ordered came out wrong. The food was incredible and hot, with decent size portions, all 10 of us were able to sit together and the food was brought out timely so we could all eat together. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Yes, there is no lift, but this is made clear on their website and information they send when booking. The pool was warm and the steam room and sauna room are wonderful. We only stayed for 1 night, but the staff made us feel like we had been there weeks. I honestly feel like I've had a holiday. We all had a wondeful experience at The Old Mill and we will definitely return.

Nice rooms, lovely food, spa and pool a bonus, just one lazy girl behind bar in the afternoon with long false nails let it down, we asked twice for glasses and spilt beer to be cleaned from our table but it never happened, all other staff were excellent

We loved our stay here. We were made to feel so welcome. Our room was spacious and comfy. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Our daughter and son-in-law came to join us for a meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be back.

Lovely pub with relaxed atmosphere and excellent food! Afferside is quite rural and approach road is difficult at night/dark but well worth a visit.. I booked and would recommend doing that to assure a table ( online or phone) at weekends especially. I had Cheese Pie but will try something else next time! Very tasty though!

The food is incredible and ready very quickly for collection. The dragon wings are a particular favourite of mine, but everything on the menu I’ve tried has been delicious.
