Old Damascus (Coventry road) in Birmingham

The prices are a bit on the higher side, and unfortunately, the Arabic bread was quite dry. The garlic sauce lacked that authentic mayonnaise taste. I think the food has potential for improvement, and the pricing could definitely be more reasonable. £8 felt a bit too steep for what was offered.

I ordered a cheese samosa but was shocked when a meat samosa arrived instead! As vegetarians who have never eaten meat, this was completely unacceptable. Additionally, I had ordered pasta with a lamb kebab but instead received rice and salad. When I called to ask about it, they simply told me the pasta had run out and offered no other options. This lack of communication and disregard for our dietary preferences is extremely disappointing.

The half chicken meal was absolutely amazing—packed with flavour and a delightful aroma. The salad was beautifully presented, and the sauces were a perfect complement. To top it off, the delivery arrived earlier than expected, which was a nice bonus! Highly recommended.

Do not order. I ordered off uber and after one hour and 45 minutes i received my order. I rang the restaurant and he blamed the driver. My food came cold!

Came in on a Thursday evening, very quiet got sated quickly. Food took a while to arrive, staff were nice. Food was delicious, ordered half a chicken with chips and a chicken shawarma platter. Can't go wrong with he prices. Would recommend going again.

Seriously, is this Kunafeh? I ordered from Uber Eats and this is what's received. I ordered 2 kunafeh and received 1 while they sent Baklava as other item.

Lovely food was just missing the salad

Good wasn’t very warm when it arrived. Needed to hear it up. Also ordered a large platter for 5 people. yet the hummus was small and only enough for one person. Disappointed!!

Definitely do not recommend. The food was not great. Syrian food is very rich in flavour and taste but this place lacked that big time: I ordered the Syrian kofta and they served it with chilli sauce on top ( very strange ) then when I asked why it had chilli sauce on top , he said I can remove it. So he did by re-grilling the kebab and serving it back to me. Absolutely shocking. We also had a chicken shawarma, the chicken was extremely dry , lacked taste. Overall I do not recommend , it’s a massive shame that they are serving food under a Syrian name .

This is not about the food as it hasn’t arrived yet. But about the fact that the line is busy. Customers should be able to call the place that’s preparing there food

Used to be 10/10 however a real shame food is now always old and dry and fries are double dipped. The staff are very stingy with sauces and bread and prices have gone up. I usually order the shwarma platter and the Damascus burger - burger is ok (6/10) but shawarma is always old a real shame used to be a gem !

Order a platter and a separate fish, didn't receive any sauces, the flat breads given less than what you usually get with just the 1 platter Ticked salad for the platter and there was no salad on the platter, definitely shrunk in price even though price gone up.

Even though we received the wrong order, it was very yummy and delicious. 100% percent recommended! The restaurant gave us the right food 20 minutes after enjoying the wrong order. Thank you

Alhamdulillah food as ever is very good. But if you place an order at 14:00 for 1830 you would expect the person to be on time. Road works have been going on for the last month or so, so that is not an excuse.

Food was tasty but it said I received my order but still didn’t come until 25mins after.

Delicious Syrian lamb kebab wraps here that are my favourite. Serve other delicious kebabs with rice and other options too. Top Marks for this hidden gem. The half chicken and rice is amazing too along with the homemade burgers. Be sure to get some freshly squeezed orange juice with your meal. Top marks

Food arrived one hour late , the food was out of the box and split in to the carry bag , the food was cold

I had lamb chops with fries. The chops were just ok but would not order again and then they had piled on loads of chips which would have fed three people except that they were freezing cold! All for almost £20. Never again! Total waste of money.

They did not send the full order the salad was missing and only send 1/4 of a chicken only got breast piece no leg/thigh and the food was very cold. Highly disappointed . Won’t be ordering anytime soon.

The food was very tasty and fresh. The chicken was succulent and juicy. The rice good, we had soup and tea and it was amazing. The tea was my favourite. We also orderer a chicken shawarma i didn't like that much, had no seasonings could been better. The rest was good and service great aswell

All foods are authentic & really tasty.

I don't like to give bad marks but honestly this restaurant can do better because it has the equipments and the space, its sandwiches lack fresh ingredients like tomatoes, onions, lettuce, parsley .... so you get a kefta or shawerma sandwich dripping with unidentifiable sauces with bits of pickle and nothing more, make an effort go to the market to buy some tomatoes and aromatic herbs to give taste and value to your sandwiches.

One of the best places to have authentic Arabic food. They serve the best shawarma wrap. Heart shaped felafels taste great. Their mix grill is worth it. Great food, highly recommended.

From leaving restaurant to delivery was over 20 mins. It was a 1 mile delivery. Food was cold. Delivered by a man in a car smoking so the bag smelt of smoke. Gross.

This time my shawarma was bad. Meat overcooked and dry. Amount of salads in it was a bear minimum, just enough amount to say that salad was there at all. Same with sauce, also, bear minimum. I would say - a teaspoon for a large shawarma. I will never order again.

A lovely restaurant with traditional regional food, Old Damascus does not fail to deliver. I have ordered from this restaurant on several occassions, and have recently visited in store, and have made several observations. They accept card and have indoor seating. An open kitchen, O.D cooks everything infront of you, and you can see how everything is clean and well made with care. Service, upon entering, I was instantly greeted. Order, I made several requests, which were all expertly catered to, such as customisation of my order (specific salads), I asked to pay upfront and was allowed to do so and I was given a wide choice of drinks. Upon making my order I was shown to my seat and had my order taken to me, it was not the fastest service of food, but this is not quick to cook food, and it is all made fresh, so the time was adequate and very pleasant. After I had finished eating, I was told that I could leave my plate and it would be cleared for me. I ordered a chicken shawarma meal, it was very hot, juicy and delicious well cooked chicken, the wrap was crunchy and stretch, simply beautiful. The chips could have been slightly better, but that is personal opinion, they were also very nice. The sauces here are gorgeous. Lovely hardworking staff that deserve full respect for their craft and dedication for delivering good service and food. Attentive staff, good food and pleasant atmosphere, this restaurant is worth a visit.

The food arrived cold not even a little warm just plain stone cold

No salad given with platter. And three triangles of bread given when it's meant to be 4 hence the platter for 4. Overall food was warm and nice but more bread needed.

I ordered a platter for 6, loads of meat and flavoursome. I’ve tried momos, Syrian house and bader. This is definitely better

We had bad experience in terms of food and staff. Food was still acceptable but staff’s crude behaviour was painful especially when children were present.

Usually this place is good, today was a different story. I called the restaurant when the app updated to show delivered and it hadn’t been.There was no answer called them again still no answer. (just eat on the chat said they couldn’t do anything until the order was an hour over due !) Anyhow called the restaurant again they had answered was told the driver left a few minutes received the food and it was cold. Hope it was one off.

Never again. Tried this place on a whim, worst service and the food was terrible! No flavour, not cooked well, missing main components required for the dishes, e.g. no Hummus in my shawarma wrap. Fries were £3.50 and were soggy and dripping in oil. Paid almost £40 all together for food the size of a snack. Utterly disappointed.
