Never had a bad takeaway from here

I was a bit dubious to start with as the previous owners had retired and didn't know if it would still have the same taste, but I was pleasantly surprised, food fresh and tasty and their sweet and sour pork balls are amazing!!

The food from here is amazing! We've ordered the vegan "meat" dishes twice now and it's been 10/10 both times. As veggies we just really appreciate it's even offered, but then to have it be so delicious and good value is great. The portions are big and worth the price. It all arrived really hot and fresh too. Order the crispy seaweed - it's absolutely divine!!

Absolutely delicious, fresh food! The vegan, plant based menu here is insanely good, so much choice, super tasty and great portion size. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved the food from here. It was very fresh, tasteful and warm. The delivery driver Zia was very cheerful and polite. I ordered with Yam who was very good at communicating with me and ensuring that my order was correct and to perfection. I would definitely order from here again!

Last night my friend was given real chicken instead of fake chicken which she realised after a couple of mouthfuls. They'd put the fake chicken in her partners. She was understandably upset. It would've helped if they marked the tubs. It wouldn't take long to write the letter V would it? I often get a vegan curry from here but it'll be hard for me to trust them again after this. This was a positive review until this happened but obviously I've now edited it.

I ordered a chicken and mushroom curry and a vegan chicken curry. I asked for mushrooms to be added to the vegan curry as it doesn't come with as standard. Sometimes the mushrooms are added and sometimes they aren't, and on this occasion, one curry came with mushrooms and one didn't, so I assumed that the curry without mushrooms was vegan. Also the tubs had no marking on them to indicate which was which and they actually look the same. I assumed wrong, I consumed real chicken. Congrats on making such a great chicken alternative that it took a few chunks for me to realise that what I was eating wasn't fake. I'm furious and very upset that this has happened. A simple 'V' on the tub would've been sufficient. Needless to say, I won't be ordering from here again, which is a shame due to their fantastic meat alternatives

The spare ribs and chicken wings are lovely, very crispy. Staffs are polite and have patient with ordering, best Chinese👌

Absolutely love the vegan menu. The food was hot and delicious. If you need a vegan Chinese cuisine look no further.

Nice & Tasty Food, Friendly Staff.

Went to this place on sunday to get some food for the football, the young girl on the counter provided beautiful service but the supervisor sat there with a scowl on her face the whole time. To make things worse, they got my order wrong giving me a king prawn chow mein when I ordered a chicken chow mein, the noodles also tasted like they had been left in the heater for a long time, not fresh at all. Clearly, the chef still remains the best Chinese in the area. Won't be returning.

Really good experience. Definitely coming back again.

9th may 2024 ordered chow mein chips fried rice curry sauce the curry sauce tasted burnt chips was very dry and the chow mein bland very disappointed with the food not sure if i will order again from there

The curry was so hot you couldnt eat at all . The pancake rolls were that greasy they fell apart.

If I could give no stars I would. Ordered some vegan food and not explained properly that the mock chicken would not come with rice like I expected. I paid £18.30 for 2 mock chicken and veg. When I called up and said this is not what I ordered the lady said yes u did. Obviously it was a mistake. She said there's nothing she can do about it. As a new customer I would expect some sort of grace. I have been eating mock chicken for a long time as a vegan and this stuff is white and watery so I called back up and asked what is this because it doesn't look like Soya or tofu. She said mock chicken.. Thats not what I asked I wanted to know what it is. My tummy is now hurting and feeling sick. I only ate maybe 4 pieces of it as I'm not sure what I'm eating. Will never get another order from me. My partner threw his away so £18 down the drain. Awful food, terrible service, website not clear

This is the first time I’ve used the take away The food took a very long time to arrive 1hr 45mins I can partially understand why because there was a road closure. Food was the best take away we’ve had in years. Definitely use again

Always enjoyed this place but after tonight when the delivery driver lies about how much money and ending pay 60 for a 32 Chinese I will never use this takeaway again ...not trustworthy and lie...

Ordered home delivery from here on a sunday evening as didn't want to get dressed to go out in the rain to collect..... driver rings 40 minutes later to say he is outside in the road at the back of our house and we need to go out to collect as it is raining!! Had to go out through the garden in the rain to get food and give him a piece of my mind. Won't be ordering delivery from here again unfortunately.

Had always ordered from the same place for years until Dora Pan slipped a leaflet through the door and I haven't looked back since. Top quality food at unbeatable prices. Delivery is always swift too. Genuinely can't fault them.

dora pan is an amazing take away. can’t say much about the atmosphere of the interior restaurant as i have never been but the food it’s self is amazing. always comes hot and fresh and worth the somewhat hefty price.

Best local Chinese, friendly and good food.

Visiting the area and decided to order from Dora Pan as our original choice would not deliver. Despite being further away, this was not an issue for Dora Pan. We chose the Chicken Ball Special Boxes, one per person and some chow mein and Four seasons to share. Our order arrived in good time, the driver polite and the food piping hot. We very quickly realised we would never get through it all. The boxes contained 4 balls, chips and rice and came with a huge tub of sauce. We were slightly confused why we only had one tray of chow mein when the menu says two, and two trays of the Four seasons, unless one was part of the chow mein - but we still had plenty. Complimentary prawn crackers and vegetable spring rolls had been included, which was very much appreciated. The food was delicious. The best chinese we have ever tasted. Not greasy and full of flavour. The meats just melted in the mouth. No chewy bits. The duck was fabulous but sadly I only got the one piece. Even our very critical son liked the prawn crackers. We had so much left over that we took it home with us the next day to finish off. In all, there was enough to provide dinner for 7. Our only complaint - It's 200 miles away from home. But if ever back in the area, we know what dinner will be.

Was much better before it was changed. Used to be just ‘Mackadown Takeaway’ and food was always fresh and tasty. Since it’s been taken under new management food is bland and lukewarm most of the time

I'm a massive Chinese foodie tried them all an tend to stick to onky one or 2 but thought I'd try this place as a one off an omg I'm so glad I did !chicken balls were crispy thin batter not soggy bbq spare ribs wer 10/10 they gave me free spring rolls an ther beef chow mein an curry sauce was beautiful cudnt fault an thing on my plate an it's my first time leaving a review on a food website but they defo deserved it 10/10 beautiful food 🤩

Ordered a king prawn curry which i have all the time i got homeand went to eat it and it was just like eating a madras i rang back straight away but nobody answered i rang the next day and told them about it and she just said that it was normal and that i should of said i wanted it mild i dont have to say that at anywhere else i go that was £7.50 wasted and i wont be going back

The bbq ribs special box is soo good honestly you guys should try it teh customer service is so friendly too and they always get the food right I love Dora pan😍😍

I have a food allergy and genuinely can’t remember the last time I ordered Chinese without a drama. For this reason I very rarely order Chinese, not worth the risk or drama! These guys dealt with the allergy requirements brilliantly, adjusted the dishes, food was delivered within the promised timeframe, and was hot as well as delicious. Will only use here from now on.

Ordered a takeaway at 7.00pm, which didn't arrive until 50 minutes later. After speaking to someone who's understanding of English was terrible, the food came with no meat in the "chicken and bamboo shoots" and cold rice with shrimp......really!! Then to be told that we didn't order any meat is shocking and "outright" cheeky to tell us the customer, we were wrong. I'm afraid it may well be our last order from here, and you should all be aware that these people will anything to take money from people helping to support their business. Still waiting for the the chicken and bamboo shoots to ne delivered 40 minutes after the rice came. TERRIBLE SERVICE!! 1/10

Had my first order for my dinner today (meal for 4). The food was delivered on time. The food was delicious and order taking service was exceptional good. Would recommend Dora Pan to anyone would like to have some chinese meal. Like the salt and pepper chips - delicious and well cook.

Had a couple of OK meals here but some things are not as good as they used to be before the change of name, today I found a piece of plastic in my chow mein took it back to them and was offered a replacement meal which I did not want so they issued a refund. The previous owners had outstanding food so I understand some things may not be the same but the plastic has put me off ordering from here again and I've used this chinese for nearly 10 years but it's food has gone downhill for me recently. Update 20/10/22 Started getting Chinese from here again but I find it very rude when the staff look in my wallet as I go to pay with my card and ask if I can pay cash.. if you want to dodge tax make it less blatant as my mother was with me and it made her feel very uncomfortable to the point she nearly paid her last bit of cash when she is visiting the UK from overseas and has paid exchange rates to get the cash in the first place.. very close to not using Dora pan again

We've always used this Chinese even before the change over. When the change over happened there was a few teething problems but things settled down an the foods been great but this is the 3rd order in a row with issues. Chicken and mushroom fried rice with no chicken and 4 pieces of mushroom! The itemised receipt was in the bag clearly showing the order! Don't think we'll be rushing back again, 3 orders with issues in a row is a little worrying.

We ordered a Chicken and King Prawn Curry. Rice. BBQ ribs. The curry was very watery loads of onions, 4 prawns, 5 pieces of chicken. This made the rice disappear into the sauce. The ribs were quite fatty too and hardly any sauce. Have had food from here before which was nice but this time very disappointed. It was scrapped in the bin. disappointed

I don't live close to this place, but it's worth the journey.....lovely food!

Been using Dora Pan for the last month for our Takeaway treat. Wow, fantastic food. The spare ribs are soft, not the usual hard takeaway ribs I used to get from other places. Tasty curry, in fact Tasty all round. Great staff and service. A bit more expensive but quality shines through. Well done and looking forward to more great meals.

Dora Pan is the best chinese takeaway I've ever been too.... The new owner and staff are very nice and has decorated it beautifully. Also the food there is very nice, especially the chicken fried rice.

The new staff are friendly and it has good service. The layout it well presented, the food came very quick and 100% recommend to try there, yung chow fried rice with chicken balls, chips and barbecue sauce. It's so good.

just tried this salt and pepper box meal today and it is amazing, i didn’t know what to choose so settled with this and it is one of the most delicious dishes i’ve tried. if you don’t know what to order i definitely recommend this box meal!! will be going back

I recently went into East Meadway chinese house and i had a bit of a unusual request i had been to many gss stations and shop it was 11 20 at night. You see my nephew is staying with me for the first time ever and he has AUTISTIC and i promised him pancakes in the morning and he love lemon jubily ones with ice cream he is very confused on many subjects but if you dont have lemon juice or all the ingredients it really affects him like i said hes autistic bless him now i went into the EAST MEADWAY AND asked if i could buy some for him i had been polite happy mooded ps and que said my peice to the first man the owner then all of a sudden a small chubby chinese woman she ran out sayin no giving me awfull looks so i went next door to BENGAL PALACE not a problam even gave it for free this really got to me infact i was in fllod of tears beacause its hard enough for him already with the disabilitys he has now make your own mind up whether u want to eat frm people like that

Been to all the Chinese's in the area and this is by far the best one, we love it here. Missing it in the face of what's going on right now. We are definitely regulars and the service is always fabulous. The family have probably seen us more in our pyjamas than in normal clothes and always so friendly. Can't wait to come back after this has blown over. Missing you east meadway chinese.
