Old Chequers Inn in East Lindsey

Good food and well cooked. We went as a group of 12 for a Sunday lunch. Food was nice and tasty and plenty of it, BUT the service was not the best, and were pretty much told to leave after an hour as the table was needed! Didn't even get chance to order dessert. Also felt very squished in.

Just had Sunday lunch with 10 friends. Food was good and good value, but the service was terrible. Landlady was rude and as soon as we finished our meal the table was cleared and we were asked to leave as they wanted our table. No opportunity for pudding. Will not be returning. Very crammed in.

Me and my partner revisited this lovely pub, had a beer battered fish and chips and scampi and chips washed down with some local ales, service was excellent.. food was absolutely scrumptious.. atmosphere is friendly and warm..lovely beer garden to enjoy the quite lincolnshire countryside and watch the sunsets.. Would defo recomend😀

This was my second visit to the old Chequers inn. We had the 2 course special on a Saturday for 2 people and 2 pints of Moretti for under £30! We also visited today as they had a live band playing. Lovely pub in a beautiful countryside location. We will definitely be visiting again.

We didn't eat there but it was a pleasant place to sit for a drink

My wife and I just had one of the best fish, chips & peas pub meals we've ever had. Big portions too. Nice pub, nice staff and very fast service.

Just had a lovely family carvery meal here. Best one we have had in a while. Staff very friendly. Food first class, delicious. We also had desserts. Prices very reasonable.

Was brought here today by our son who visits on a regular basis being a Bateman member Well the food was amazing staff were very obliging and the whole experience was fantastic,will definitely be back in the next couple of weeks oh and deserts. were wonderful

After reading reviews and seeing recommendations at our holiday rental we were really looking forward to our meal here.Unfortunately it was a bitter let down 😕 No home cooking going on here, my pie tasted as though it had been microwaved, no lovely crumbly pastry as expected and the filling was unpleasant. The chips were fresh out of the freezer, my husband rated his beef as edible, my daughter left the majority of her burger as she said it was too hard.The only person to enjoy her meal was my other daughter who said her chicken nuggets tasted just like McDonalds so there you go. The staff were pleasant enough but never bothered to come and take our food order so we just went to the bar to order, I would have given them feedback about the food but they never visited our table or asked if everything was ok. So for these reasons I wouldn't recommend.

First visit after meaning to pop in for ages. Lovely, warm and welcoming with a great choice of Bateman's 🙂 Can't speak for the food as we had missed that slot but the menu looked lovely and we'll definitely be back to try some

Went for a meal with family and friends, the food was absolutely beautiful.i had the hunters chicken and it was spot on. I would highly recommend this pub. The staff were very friendly and welcoming

We waited one hour and twenty minutes for our starter,,the mushrooms were practically raw the sauce was not very creamy.out of ten I would give it 5.we then waited another 25 minutes ,the plate was stone cold the chips were nice but very cool,the ham was quire dry the peas were OK..There was a large family party on the other two tables in the room,the room is quite small. The family party completely spoilt our meal ,there was two or three small children who obviously were not brought up with table manners and made a hell of a noise,the grown ups especially the men had booming vouces

Not the most friendly welcome we have ever had on arrival, in fact the sraff looked fed up. Waited 1 hour 20 minutes just for starters. Kids from other families dining there were shouting and screaming. Sounded like we were sitting in the middle of a creche. Extremely noisy and couldn't relax or enjoy our dining experience. When starters arrived we had no cutlery, despite having pre booked the table and being sat there for over an hour, no cutlery had been set out. No staff asked if we needed another drink, or explained or apologised that there was a delay or a long wait for food, only when we asked after an hour of waiting. Overall the food itself was mediocre. Not worth the wait. Won't be returning.

Excellent Sunday Roast! Now open every day except Monday - the steak cooked on a hot rock is particularly good. They are currently doing Saturday Lunch club which is really good value! We normally ring up to book but it's not always essential.

Visited this fantastic pub several times in recent years and it has never disappointed. Booked a table a few days ago and asked if my favourite previous meal of beef cheeks was available. Table booking confirmed with a note that they would try to get my favourite meal but it wasn't a 'Specials board' option at that time. Arrived and they'd arranged for that meal. They also catered for our disabled Son by providing a meal that met his needs. Truly went above and beyond to make our visit a special one...in a great atmosphere. Thank you.

Had a Sunday dinner and the beef was lovely it all was .

Had a half decent Sunday lunch could fault the food only to be billed £8.95 for a 2 year olds sunday dinner .. asked for a reduction but was told got to cover my over heads Picture attached. So £8.95 for 5 carrots 2 bits of broc and spoon of mash 🤣

Stopped here with our Motor home on the overnight parking area which is free if you eat in the pub. Great food at the right price. Lovely quiet place in the country.

23rd Aug had a dirty burger it was dreadful burger massively overcooked rock hard same for the lady sat next to us I left my burger she sent hers back & got replaced with extra chips her husbands fish was soggy & inedible his words been going there many times first bad meal told girl behind bar she just grinned & charged us full price certainly won't be back

Just been for Sunday lunch and it was great, read all reviews first and thought it can’t be that good but it was. Great friendly staff very helpful. Food cooked just like me mum used to do it. Definitely rate it and when we are back in the area we will visit again.

Lovely, little old Batemans pub. Beer kept really well and although the food menu was a little limited on a Tuesday evening, the food was really lovely. Close to Wainfleet and not too far from Skegness for anyone fancying a drive out into the country for lovely service, beer and food in a lovely country pub

My only complaint as we brought friends who. are staying at our campsite,a recommendation for their future stays, we didn't expect to have to pass our used plates up to the waitress who was hehind a bar, also we had to ask for spoons for the desert, the desert on the table no spoons, if this was addressed a lovely meal.

Great beer, food & atmosphere. A lovely cozy pub with lovely surroundings. The beer garden is a gem to sit out in on them long summers day with a great view of the famous Lincolnshire skies, especially at dusk. Well worth a visit

Excellent food, lovely and friendly staff. Just a quaint and cosy country pub with exactly what you'd expect. The beer wasn't at it's best, but as a real ale drinker, you expect that occasionally.

Beers and staff are an asset to this pub. We were drinking there and the dinners looked divine. We booked for the following night and ate there, and were disappointed with the meal. I complained and explained my plight, but was nastily shot down, the young waitress was in a predicament and I believe that she felt 'piggy in the middle. If you cannot take slight criticism in a quiet manner, then you are in the wrong job. In my experience, the waiting staff are 2nd to none, however, no member of staff came to us to check on how the meals were, but, when something is wrong you do not want to know. Sadly, we will not return. I would not at the moment recommend this place to anyone, but that is MY experience.

Total disappointment! Stopped on the caravan site so planned to come here for dinner, we didn't book but it was extremely quiet, literally nobody in there accept one guy at the bar. About 2 out of the 10 tables were reserved. The bar lady didn't even say hello just barked at us "do you have a booking" to which we said no, sorry, but could we sit down for some food and she just said "no you can only eat if you've booked". Seems like a good way to lose customers lol. Anyway their attitude was rubbish and actually glad we didn't stay as we found another lovely little pub in Burgh le Marsh and the people there actually did know how to run the place 😋

Great little country pub but just open enough - I don't mean all the time but an example is being closed on bank holidays. Is there an agenda to get it closed down - Batemans?

Very satisfied with black rock grill beef steak, On the way back to home from Skegness to Derbyshire we decided to stop here to have evening meal we waited until kitchen was open 17:30, it was well worth it. We loved the idea of how to serve meat, the garden and the service was fantastic. I google the picture as I did not take one of the full meal that was served with mushrooms onion rings.

This is a lovely place and they serve wonderful real ales and good quality lagers. However because they are very rarely open I have given them the one star because it’s not good enough to just open when they want to they should be there ready to serve the people in the area. A big shame indeed when other pubs in the area are open all day.

Shame this establishment isn’t dog friendly. Location is lovely. Sorry to say that some members of staff were unfriendly not and very welcoming. Food was disappointing, for what we paid. Maybe a Just a bad night and service?

This is a really lovely pub in the middle of the Lincolnshire countryside. We had a fantastic carvery lunch with lots of veg and potatoes and nicely cooked meat. Staff were friend but it's just a shame dogs are only allowed outside in the garden and not in the pub

Love this beautiful pub, with its cosy warm surroundings and friendly and welcoming staff, we've enjoyed many a meal here, Sunday roasts are beautiful, all freshly prepared and very tasty, who knew you could make Brussels so yummy, not to be missed. Just back from a lovely valentines meal, suitably stuffed after 3 courses for an insane £15 😱 highly recommend you get yourselves down there 👍
