The staff are very friendly. We popped in for lunch and it was amazing. I would highly recommend the bbq chicken melt and the coleslaw was to die for. I really enjoyed my visit ☺️

Now this place has changed the name. Now is MARTINI’S . Kevin the young man in charge was very nice. We had a wonderful time there. We arrive there because we where on a cruise and we wanted to go to a Pub close to our ship. Thanks to KEVIN because he was a very GREAT PERSON. This place used to be a Bank years ago. GOOD DRINKS!! Nice place.

Well my work bubble walked in but my is wasn’t valid as it had the little golden ( pass ) scratched off but we was just asking you know “will it with a bank card next to it ?” But then the guy ( Jack ) was very aggressive towards my mate saying it was against the law for me to get in and I get that but there was no need for a member of staff to get in our faces I mean we wasn’t even loud or anything towards any staff

My son and I visited Greenock at the weekend for one of his football games and decided to stay around for some lunch. Loads of choice on the menu. The fish was superb and the staff friendly and attentive. We visit Battery park regularly so it looks like you might have yourseves a new regular for lunch!

Had wonderful time at Old Bank today, the new menu is so much easier to navigate. Delicious food, good portion size and very responsibly priced. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, creating a very warm atmosphere. We definitely will be visiting again.

Had a great meal here yesterday! 2 Fish and Chips for £12.99 and huge portion! Absolute bargain! Can not believe how cheap drinks prices are too! Definitely a hidden gem and will definitely be coming back next time we visit Greenock!

My colleagues and I attended this venue for a dear colleagues leaving lunch of soup and a sandwich. The soup was the worst I've tasted in years, absolutely no taste, even when we added salt and pepper! The Sandwiches were ok, although some of the filings were watered down. Staff were friendly and attentive, however when I voiced my opinion about the soup, I was told it would be passed on to the chef....Chef, if when you are cooking and you can't taste what you are serving out, then you aint a Chef! And they have a cheek to charge £3 for that soup. I wouldn't rush back and we certainly won't be having any more lunches here if we can help it.

Was in on Sunday with friends for the football. Seen the handsome chef Mark G and decided to order food. Had a hunters chicken on a jacket potato. Was absolutely lovely.

So we landed in this small town on a cruise and wanted to try some local fare for a late lunch . We hit the jack pot with this. The fish and chips are much better then the picture I took ( sorry). I gave the chief Mark a major compliment as I don’t like fish with lots of breading . This fish was cooked perfect and the light yet flavorful breading allowed you to still taste the lovely white fish . The chips were served hot and crispy with a lovely soft potato inside . They normally have smashed peas but they ran out and did the hard peas( I rather like hard peas better 😁👍🏻) Staff was friendly and atmosphere very fun. A+

Popped in for a couple of light refreshments. Not being much of a drinker the barmaid, I think her name was Jess, was very helpful and recommended a belhaven best as I was after a heavy to go with my portly physique. Didn't order food but the sizzling fajitas smelt delicious

Popped in for lunch one Saturday. It was very quiet so could sit pretty much anywhere although it wasn’t long before it started filling up with people wanting to watch the the football on the big screens. The food offer of 2 meals for £10.99 is very cheap. Sadly, this meant that it wasn’t the best quality. I got bangers and mash in a giant Yorkshire pudding. The Yorkshire was pretty cold and the sausages were very low quality. My husband got a chicken pie and chips. The chips were very hot and tasty but the pie was cold and the puff pastry (on the top AND the bottom of the pie???) was rather anaemic looking. The side of onion rings were tasty enough. At the end of our meal, the match was about to begin so they turned the commentary up VERY loud so we could barely hear each other. Pleased we were ready to leave. It’s a nice building but it needs a lick of paint on the ceiling where there has clearly been water ingress and there are large cracks above one of the pillars in the middle of the room. A bit of repair work is needed.

Bar overall good seating need updating mixed matched chairs , Seats at tall tables make you feel as if you are falling off. Food was quick and hot staff were very friendly .

Young supervisor basically pouring drink down a rather portly gentleman’s throat and filming it for social media purposes is not the type of thing people want to see in a pub

Apparently this place is under new management and I must admit, there isn’t a lot of “managing” going on. Firstly, the staff just hang about the end of the bar not bothering to clear tables. I was with six people and we had such a full table, I had to clear my own glasses twice. Our dinner wasnt cleared for over 20 minutes and there were literally 8 other people in the pub. Staff are really disappointing and the food was terrible. To be honest, for the price I didn’t expect much but I couldn’t even eat mine. First time I’ve sent food back in a long time! If you are going for drinks and football and don’t mind a mess.....there are a lot of TV’s! Which is good. It’s now also shut half the week so I wouldn’t really call it a reliable local. Not impressed.

Nice bar and if you like sport, plenty of tv’s on which to watch. Personally I’d like to see a local real ale or two on tap, but I’ll settle for Punk IPA in most circumstances. However, place was quiet and only a group of 3 girls and I were at the bar, with 4 staff behind it. I still had to alert them of my presence having waited up to 5 minuets already . This happened twice. A bit of attention and professionalism please.

Could no thank the new manager enough! My brother Jeremy surfers from ME although has never stopped his motivation! Jen sorted us out and gave us table service even though isn’t the norm! Jeremy found it so nice and she wasn’t overbearing as some people can be when they see someone wheelchair bound! Could not appreciate her enough! Awesome job and can’t wait to come back.... even if we are from Portsmouth and your not in so sunny Scotland

On holiday and was passing through Greenock when we stumbled upon this gem, great food and lovely staff especially jen who treated us like royalty, real top job guys! We will be sure to spread the word :)

When we got food my chips were cold asked barman to change them no problem doing this, Service at bar good very helpful.

this is a great wee bar that does amazing pub grub style food. whenever there is sport on like Football or Rugby then this is the place me and my mates always go ! they have booths with mini TV's to watch the games on as well as massive projectors and screens that show it as well. the bar staff are also great

Average food at cheap prices. Considering the age of the place the decor is dull and dreary. The staff were very good but the food was no better than average.

The old bank was filled with the spirit of Christmas. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient. The meal was a festive feast and the room was filled with Christmas music and sounds of laughter and happy people. Thank you to the staff for giving us all a memorable Christmas.

Went in The Old Bank bar on sunday 8th Oct to watch Scotland football match on big screen. They reserved us a table, served us great food and despite the place being heaving they coped very well and still went out of their way to accommodate us. Fantastic staff; great food and a brilliant day. Well done Jane and team!

My partner and I had a lovely day out with lunch and a couple of drinks at this establishment. The food was excellent the staff were very attentive and could not do enough for you. There are not many places you would get a lovely meal and a couple of pints for less than £20.

Don't often eat here but when I have the quality has been excellent and the portions very generous.

Best place to go in the town for food and drink. Show live football on the tv's and have amazing, friendly staff.

I remember going in here in the 60's when it was the Provident Bank, and was pleased to see that they have kept the ornate cupola intact.

Visited here with my son for the first time and we really enjoyed it. We got 2 starters for £6 (garlic mushrooms, very tasty), 2 mains for £10.99 (hunters chicken was lovely and my son enjoyed the homemade burger) and 2 desserts for £6. My son enjoyed his chocolate fudge cake. My apple crumble was still frozen inside so I sent it back but they were very good to get me another very hot one very quickly. It was very busy inside with lots of noise so not a relaxing place to eat but the staff were very friendly and efficient. I'd go back.

We stopped by while we were in town for a quick late lunch based on the reviews that we read. At first we were a little thrown because there's no table side service, and we were waiting for a server. Once we figured out that we just had to go to the bar to order, we were on our way! The food was excellent with good sized portions, they have a good selection of beer and what a beautiful little bar! We watched a football game and enjoyed the airy bright spot. Highly recommend stopping in!

I get to most pubs in Inverclyde at some point or another but none are as good as my local the Old Bank bar. The bar staff are really friendly, the decor inside cannot be beaten and there's four walls of big screens and TVs for sports enthusiasts. Yer cannae beat it!

Tasty food, good service, reasonable price. Burger was messy but the taste was good. Couldn't fault it. Big plus was the server. Chatty and confident recommendations.

We had booked the table and were in the bar when the phone rang checking where we were and if we were still coming which I personally thought was good. We had a mix of starters which were excellent and served promptly. The main meals again served promptly and in the service was excellent defo be going back. I would re commend the fish which my daughter had hanging of the plate at both ends it was that big!!!!

Was in having a pint after work and it was reasonably quiet when I heard someone singing. It was Fiona, one of the bar staff! Cracking voice and it certainly brightened my day!!! Girl has a talent!!

The interior is quite stunning with the domed glass ceiling but he place is nothing more than a sports bar with TVs all over the place. Great if you want to watch the football with a couple of mates. This area could be so much more being situated in Clyde Square where many a bar and restaurant have come and sadly gone. Food is typical pub grub fare with usual selection of beers and spirits.

Had a lovely anniversary meal with my better half.. Beautiful fish and chips and chicken and haggis. Followed by apple crumble and custard. And sticky toffee pudding. Amazing food. And the staff couldn't have been nicer.. And they have great deals on food for familys every day and night. Very nice visit.

My partner and I hadn't been to the Old Bank for at least a year so decided to pop in for an early Dinner, place looks absolutely lovely now the renovations are complete. Staff were friendly, attentive, and said hello when we came in.I went for Fish and Chips and my partner had the Balmoral Burger. Both meals came within 15 minutes, piping hot and massive portion sizes. It was a quiet Monday so bear in mind food may take longer on busy nights. Both meals were delicious, and the fish wasn't overly greasy like some places serve it. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, no room for puddings but there is a decent choice on the menu.The Old Bank also caters for children and has a good selection on its kids menu so this would be ideal for a family lunch or dinner whilst out in the town.Our only gripe was that a Pint of Alcohol is included in the meal deals but it seemed to cost us to upgrade our soft drinks to a pint. As I was driving I couldn't have a beer or cider, as much as I would have loved one!We will definitely be back!

We popped in to the old bank for a quick bite. The dinning area was nice and clean and staff were very friendly on arrival. The meal itself was very satisfying. We had a portion of macaroni and 3 burgers off the 2 for 10.99 menu. We thought this was Great value and we left 4 empty plates. The service was excellent and would return to the old bank if in the area in future.

I'm a first time visitor here as I wasn't aware they served food but it was recommended to me by a taxi driver!We had the chicken balmoral and the sirloin steak both of which were very tasty and served after only a short wait.Not a huge menu but a good variety and some of the meals good value at £9.99 for 2.All the staff seemed genuinely lovely and happy to help and the building itself is gorgeous inside, one wee tiny thing...the food could have been a bit hotter but overall we loved it and will definitely be back again.

Stopped in for a few beers but HAD to try the authentic food. Had the black pudding fritters with haggis. You can't get any more Scottish than that! Very reasonably priced food and tap beers (Two starters for under $8). The cheesy garlic ciabatta was also very good.

Visited this pub with some friends to watch a couple of Euro 2016 games. Atmosphere was excellent and the bar service was great too - staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is also good and very reasoning priced - steak pie was excellent.

Was in this bar/restaurant last night with my partner for a meal and a few drinks After standing at the bar for 10 minutes or more the one and only member of staff approached the bar area to serve 2 ladies who had just walked in Kindly enough the ladie said I was there before her and the member of staff then served me but his attitude stank and he was not happy because I said I had been there for over 10 minutes. This happened the last time as was here as well but thought I would try again This will be the last time I visit

We can depend on the Old Bank for good food and good service. We always enjoy the fish and chips and the curry. The staff are always friendly and efficient.

In here at the moment and there is 1 yes I repeat 1 on behind the bar at 5.50pm. waited about 10 minutes just to order food the kitchen bell going constantly. Not the first time it's happened but gave them the benefit of the doubt. So I would say don't come in of tea time or you will be waiting forever just for that.

This is a nice casual bar in Greenock. Staff were very helpful and the fried Haggis was very good. Don't be scared if you are not from Scotland - it's nice with the sauce provided!

Popped in on a random day/night out. Have to say what a place. Thee bar staff were amazing fast and always friendly no matter how much pressure they were under (and that was a fair amount) The atmosphere is second to none the food is delicious. We had a sharing platter between 4 it could've fed 6 easily. Then we all had burgers and fries. I'm a big eater but I couldn't finish it not along side the ice cold lager. Before we knew it the lights were dimming and the music rising boooooooooom night time was in full swing. The atmosphere just went off the scale. Music for everyone loads of people singing and dancing before I knew it I'm home extremely happy and rather intoxicated. Thanks to the door staff who even got me a taxi. If you have been get yourselves down couldn't honestly recommend somewhere more.

Please fix this. I requested a song as I was out having fun with my friends. Thinking it would be a good idea to request a song. So not even getting to the chorus of the song and the dj starts talking all the way through it? What is the point in playing music when we cant hear it? It kind of spoiled my mood in that pub to be fair. And I think for majority of people think this too. He is good but STOP TALKING.

My new favourite eating place, Food excellent and very attentive staff. Place spotlessly clean and spacious. Scottish Fayre, Range of snacks, Baguettes, Wraps etc. Chips are excellent. My Favourite dish for my husband and I is Hunters chicken. Chicken Breast with Bacon and Melted Cheese served with, chips, salad, coleslaw and onion rings. Good value for money just wish portions were a bit bigger but you add sides for extra. Looking forward to working my way through the menu. 10/10

I spent a lot of time here over the weekend and had a blast. The staff are the best, entertainment for adults on Saturday night and kids activities on Monday were spot on and as always the food was great. We'll be back in through the week for lunch.

Went her for some late drinks on Saturday on Easter weekend. Was surprised on entering (at approx 11pm) to find the place empty. However after getting our drinks I quickly understood the reason why....the DJ was playing non-stop McFly songs!! I can only assume the DJ was a relative of the owner, as surely no one in there right mind would employ him! Quickly drank up and left. Note to self- never go here on a weekend for a night out!!

Stopped off here on the way to Largs (scenic route) with a friend. Had soup and a steak baguette and really liked it. Excellent value for money with really friendly smily staff who seemed happy at their work! Lovely old building with some grand architecture including a huge glass dome. Very pretty. Would recommend!

Dropped into the Old Bank Bar on Sunday 13th March. Went with the wife and son (he's 15). Had gone sheerly on recommendations from work colleagues as we are not local to Greenock. I must say I was well impressed. I know this bars' sister pub in Largs which is not a favourite of mine.It's a massive, huge pub with a really airy, fresh and light feeling about it. The place is spotlessly clean (kept the wife happy), has a good free wifi connection (kept the boy happy) and has the clearest big screen i have ever seen, apparently 4K whatever that is, which kept me happy! I was impressed with the Heineken on tap as it was served in the ice cold glasses straight from the freezer. This is an order at the bar set up which I don't mind. We had the Sunday roast beef, fish and chips and the haggis pakora. Top notch 10/10 and so cheap! For food and a drink each (wine for the Mrs, the Heineken for me and a Coke for the boy) was under £25. The staff were good fun and seemed genuinely friendly which is always a bonus. The loos were clean and the parking not a problem. Would return in a heartbeat!

Went for a quick lunch steak sandwich chips not a soft drink for £7 a bargain and great quality food.Staff were very friendly and I will definitely go back and if you are at the tail of the bank I suggest you pay a visit.

Popped in to watch my team playing football on the television as I can't afford all this sky stuff. Would rather spend my money on a nice steak and chips and that is what the old bank bar delivered, my only complaint was I never took the two meals and a bottle of wine option for £19.99. Anyway my steak was cooked perfect and my team won so good day had by me. Look forward to my double steak next time.

Came here with the kids after cinema on Saturday and found the pub to be really kids friendly despite there obviously being an important sporting game in big screens and it being really busy. The waitress cleared and set up a table for us and got my two wee one some colouring in sheets and crayons. Food was nice and fresh and was not waiting long considering how busy it was. The waitress really made us feel welcome and was talking and waving to me two wee boys whenever she walked past which just made us feel dead welcome.Had sticky toffee pudding and a latte for afters which was amazing!Will visit again when in Greenock.

On a visit to Greenock on Friday I arranged to meet family and friends at the Old Bank. What a transformation- the refurb is fantastic. We had a very enjoyable meal - delicious, reasonably priced and fresh. The bar has an extensive range of drinks at affordable prices. We were very well looked after by the friendly, customer focused staff.

Lovely big old style pub/restaurant which has recently been renovated I think - really beautiful old features and art work.Work colleagues and I were in on fri 29th Jan and I was really impressed with my experience. I live in Gourock and tend to dine and drink in Flava & Cafe Continental so I hadn't been familiar with The Old Bank Bar for many years.I can honestly say the macaroni is the best I've ever had and I also tried my friends hog burger which was just delicious! The bar and waiting staff were very attentive and friendly and well presented. There is an impressive range of cocktails as well as lots of different beers which the men in out group thoroughly enjoyed (!) The prosecco available was good and fairly priced at under £15 a bottle. The atmosphere was lovely and so relaxed with low lighting and candles and chilled out background music. I have no complaints and totally recommend the Old Bank as an ideal after work drinks hang out :)Super value for money also.Thanks for a great night and I'll be back soon!

Fairly small pub, which used to be a bank! Very popular with the locals! Standard bar menu, but reasonably priced and well cooked! It's a very busy bar so service can be a bit shaky, tho' it is very friendly!

I had a good meal here, fish was tasty and no bones!! Good value for money and very friendly Staff. Only the football ⚽ on TV was a little off-putting for me. I will give them a go again!!!

I visited the Old Bank Bar last Saturday and was thoroughly impressed with the new look (it has recently had a big renovation), the food and the staff too.We were a group of 3 couples out for an early dinner/drinks and a catch up. We would normally go the The Exchange but after hearing from some colleagues that the Old Bank had recently been done up and it's much improved from days of old we decided to give it a go.Four of us had rump steaks and were really impressed to get 2 bottles of house wine with steaks for just and extra £1 each! Two of us had the fish and chips. Food was cooked to perfection and was really quite quick considering it was pretty busy. We we really impressed with the value for money - all this and 2 pints of Peroni under £65We had intended to just eat here but found ourselves still sitting enjoying the relaxed atmosphere 3 hours later. The decor has been beautifully done and we were in awe of the huge glass dome in the ceiling which has been restored to its original glory.Staff were very chatty and seemed to be enjoying their work which is something you done often see!Toilets were clean and pleasant too.Will definitely be back. Well done!

Being local to Greenock, I must say I hadn't visited this bar in a few years. After hearing about its recent refurbishment and new ownership/management I decided to give it a try, thoroughly impressed I was too!I entered the pub expecting to find the usual array of bog standard lagers but was pleasantly surprised to see "Black Isle Blonde" on draught as well as a decent range of bottles ales/craft lagers - an addition of a cask tap would be a great extension of the current range for sure. The pub is huge and it was nice (and surprising) to come in from a chilly, misty afternoon to somewhere so warm and inviting. The gentleman behind the bar was very chatty and attentive and seemed genuinely interested to get to know me and make sure I was happy. I had the Balmoral burger and really enjoyed it - could do with a few more onion rings I thought or maybe I'm just greedy!Overall I was impressed with this pub and will defiantly return - hopefully to find a cask ale tap!

My boyfriend and I popped into the Old Bank Bar as he wanted to watch the football and we decided to get some food too. Had a lovely day, enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delish with a varied choice on the menu. My boyfriend especially thought the quality of football on there big screen was the best he had ever seen, I am not really into football so I was grateful for the free Wi-Fi. We will definitely be back, with a fab atmosphere, food and friendly staff we would most certainly recommend.

Cracking pub, looks fab after the recent refurb. Food is always excellent, best place to be on a Saturday night as their is a great atmosphere with a live DJ, I regularly attend the monthly band night, your guaranteed to have a brilliant night. No.1 place to watch the sport as they have booths with individuals TV's as well as a big screen. The pub has the friendliset, happiest staff in Greenock who always provide you with fast service and great banter. Definitely worth a visit.

Stopped in at The Old Bank on Wednesday 7th August for some food with friends. My first time as I had always avoided the pub as it seemed a bit run down. It's recently been refurbished to a high standard and has a really pleasant, welcoming atmosphere and lovely friendly and attentive staff.My friends and I had steak pie, sirloin steak and a balmoral burger and would give the food 10/10.We also sampled a couple of the cocktails from the cocktail menu which we thought were lovely, with really fresh ingredients and fab presentation.Will be back.

Wanting to meet up with distant friends, to catch up over lunch, this sounded like and ideal location but, alas, on arrival we found the place closed for refurbishment despite having checked their website the day before. Let's hope that when it does reopen it will again achieve accolades!
